We booked the heron Lodge for a family getaway after a tough year! There were 10 of us in total and we were amazed by how beautiful the lodge was and how fully equipped it was! Suzanne went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She made sure the kettle was nice and hot on arrival and even baked flapjacks which were delicious. There isn't much on site but it's only a 10 minute drive into the town centre. It's a lovely place to stay if you fancy a break from the world for a couple of days and I can't even remember the last time we all sat down as a family to played board games. The hot tub w...more
This was our 3rd xmas at Millmeadow. Alrhough we only live a couple miles away it's just perfect. We get together as a family and its the perfect location. We had a lovely warm welcome from Suzanne and Chris. Theres everything you need to get you started plus special little touches .... like presecco, milk, apple juice and home made gingerbread xmas trees. The lodge is so well equipped. The wood burner was lovely too , although it wasn't particularly cold the wood burner was used , it was so cosy.we also had the hot tub which is always a hit. The place is so well kept and the owners really ...more
We recently returned from Mill Meadow where we stayed in Cuckoo lodge, it was a family holiday with our two children and our dog. Mill meadow is a beautiful site with a lovely fishing lake and lots of wild life. It was the most picture perfect place where we could sit and watch the world go by, it’s so peaceful and relaxing. The site is run by Chris and Suzanne who honestly couldn’t have been kinder or done more for us, they made us feel like family. We were welcomed on site by Chris who showed us to our lodge, once we were at our lodge we couldn’t believe how gorgeous and comfortable it wa...more
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Goldcrest and was sad to leave. Everything I needed was provided and the use of a washer/dryer within the lodge was invaluable when you are walking and cycling. Suzanne the housekeeper was very attentive and informative without being intrusive. I would happily return next year.
Welcomed by the lovely Helen, our two families (and our dogs) had a wonderful time. The lodge was warm and comfortable, spotlessly clean. Plenty of room to have private space and yet sometimes as many as 3 cooks in the gorgeous kitchen. A large lounge and dining table enabled us to spend quality time together with ease. The hot-tub just sealed it...we are sure to return! Thank you to the Heayns family for their attention-to-detail.
Great property, fantastic location and all at a very good price. We stayed over just over a week, and had no issues whatsoever. The customer support was also second to none. Thanks for a great time.
sadly our stay this time was not as good as previous stays and we felt the booking process and the information given was not as upfront as before. As returning customers it disappointed us with the booking process before we arrived due to having to move our stay date. we felt disappointed with the feed back we got after sending polite feed back to the owners. before this booking we would happily have recommended this to others but after this stay due to the booking we wouldn't recommend again. we just feel they should look after returning customers. very sad as we previously enjoyed staying...more
The cabins have been decorated to a high standard and everything you could possibly need has been provided. We even had a decorated tree waiting for us and our host brought us mince pies during our stay. It is a lovely and convenient location. Our boys enjoyed fishing on the lake and we just have to decide which cabin we will have next time.
We rented both House Martins & Woodpecker Lodge for a long weekend for our family of 10 from Great Grandparents to a very active 2 year old. Our stay was for the extended weekend of my Wife's 60th Birthday celebrations. The welcome on arrival from Helen and Suzanne was great. A particularly nice touch was the welcome pack. House Martins has everything you could need for a weekend or longer stay, was warm and cosy. Ramped main door access was also a plus for access to the ground floor by the grandparents who stayed in Woodpecker Lodge but visited for afternoon tea. We had arranged for out...more
