Brand new for 2023, Kingfisher Lodge has been designed primarily with relaxation and rejuvenation in mind. The lodge provides welcoming accommodation for couples in gorgeous Lancashire countryside, aimed at adults hoping to escape the everyday. Although compact, the lodge offers many familiar home comforts with the addition of on onsite spa and swimming pool. Several highly recommended treatments are available in either our single or double treatment rooms from local, reputable therapists.

The simplicity of a kitchen/lounge and accompanying superking bedroom with en-suite wet room makes for a stress-free stay. Breakfast can easily be taken care of in your well-equipped kitchen with kettle, toaster and Tassimo coffee machine. If none of the many great restaurants nearby (some of which are award winning) take your fancy, simple meals are quickly rustled up with a two-ring hob, electric oven and microwave. Evenings in are bound to be cosy with comfortable seating and a smart TV.

Kingfisher lodge is the ideal base for discovery of some of the most beautiful scenery in the United Kingdom. We’re very lucky to be a short drive away from the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales as well as the Forest of Bowland, which offer plenty of opportunity to blow away the cobwebs. Having spent the day in the great outdoors, treat yourself to a relaxing massage to chase away those aches and pains. Take some time to yourselves in the sauna or steam room or swim a few lengths while overlooking the wildlife pond and woodland.

Hidden Oaks is an absolutely beautiful venue, perfectly located. It gives you the peaceful feeling of being tucked away in nature, while still only a few minutes' drive from the lovely shops and restaurants in Ribchester. It truly offers the best of both worlds.

The lodges themselves are small but incredibly cosy and practical. I got ready in the kingfisher lodge with my mum and a couple of bridesmaids, and the surrounding woods created such a calm and serene atmosphere. The large folding doors let in a lovely breeze, keeping the space cool and refreshing throughout the morning. I especially appreciated that the lodges were set apart from the cottages, giving us privacy and a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of wedding guests.

One funny moment was discovering the source of a strange noise in the night, it turned out to be a very energetic squirrel having what sounded like a mini party on the roof! It added a bit of charm to the woodland vibe, once the panic had settled to wondering what on earth was making all the noise.

I can say the customer service in relation to the lodges was lovely, friendly, helpful, and welcoming. In terms of value for money, I’d give it a solid 5 stars. All three lodges were included in our wedding package, which was fantastic.

I did drop one star on cleanliness, there were a few dead bugs around, and some of the cutlery and plates needed a proper wash before use. That said, the overall presentation was great, with crisp white bedding and fluffy towels that felt fresh and clean.

One small suggestion: it would be wonderful to have a tall hanger or dedicated space to hang a wedding dress. I made do by draping mine over a kitchen chair and curtain rail in the bedroom, which worked but did make the room a bit awkward to move around in. Perhaps a tall hanger could be installed in the space between the door and the window wall of the bedroom—it would be a small but meaningful improvement for future brides.

Overall, the kingfisher lodge was a beautiful and memorable place to spend my wedding weekend. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and charming place to stay.

We have been coming to RVHH for 8 years, and the love of these cottages, and the Ribble Valley has never tired. There are three one bed cottages, and having stayed in Woodpecker before, we feel Kingfisher is the best. The panoramic windows look on to the small pond and woods, and you see lots of wildlife. The cottage has everything you need for a great stay. There are loads of great walks in the area, and plenty of pubs to eat in . A regular bus goes to Clitheroe, which is well worth a visit, and the bus stops right outside the cottages.

We loved our 3 day stay in February. It was bitterly cold outside but we were cosy inside. The position of the lodge meant we could sit and watch the wild life go by. The kitchen was well equipped, the shower room was ideal and the sitting area comfortable. It was a perfect getaway.

From enquiring to enjoying our stay in kingfisher lodge, our experience has been nothing less than excellent. The lodge is beautiful, plenty of room for the two of us, spotlessly clean and well equipped. We will definitely stay in a lodge again and will also book into the cottages which are on site and of varying sizes. The high standard is consistent throughout from our initial enquiries which were dealt with professionally and very helpful. Thanks to Beth who was very supportive and helpful with our future bookings as well as this stay. On our next visit we will be booking in at the pool/spa. It looks so welcoming and relaxing as were the staff when I spoke to them.
Stydd gardens is definitely worth a visit and only a short walk away. What a fabulous place.

We booked two cottages, a larger one and a smaller one as we were a bigger number. The smaller lodge was a little basic, great if you're visiting the area and want somewhere nice to stay, you could make use of the pool and spa facilities (which are really really nice) It's super clean and quite modern too. If you love nature it's a great spot- we saw a heron in the morning but you are right on the edge of the woods so if you don't like nature it might not be for you!

A brief but relaxing stay. All you need for an enjoyable break away. Clean, warm and welcoming. Loved watching the wildlife, birds and squirrels, lovely. Would just say though that it took a while to get the place warm as the weather had taken a cold snap but once cosy it was lovely.

We had a lovely 4 night stay in the kingfisher lodge, it had everything we needed. The rooms were bigger than expected, it had a nice view of the wood from the sofa. The place was clean and tidy, would definitely stay again.

Peaceful place for 2, not far from the town of Ribchester, with wall to wall views of forest and stream from the lounge and kitchen/diner. Kingfisher Lodge is spacious, has up to date decor and is in good condition, although some of the furniture could do with improvement, the sofa was too low and the bed mattress had a topper that allowed rolling off the side, plus the dining chairs needed a cushion to make them comfy. That said, with work arounds, we enjoyed our time there and would happily book again.

I booked our stay as a relatively late booking, for the August Bank Holiday. As a couple who use Airbnb, Sykes etc fairly regularly - especially when visiting family in Lancs - I think this background enables a fair review. Location is great, a short walk to the Ribchester village (note the road connecting the two isn't pedestrianised). Facilities on site are modern and well kept. I visit spas regularly and the Hidden Oaks on-site spa is good value for money. The lodge itself is clearly new and has a nice outlook, it's just missing a few finishing touches, which I'll share with the owners directly. Good value for money for anyone exploring the local area.

We stayed as part of a group celebrating a friend's birthday and this place is perfect for family and friends gatherings. Our lodge was just right for overnight stays as we had the benefit of sharing the additional facilities enjoyed by our friend's who had rented houses with hot tubs. The site is in a beautiful part of ths country good for walking.

The location was lovely and the lodge was actually much nicer than we envisaged. Very spacious, warm and modern. This time we didn't use the pool facilities but have been singing its praises to all our family and want to come back for a pampering few days. We go on a lot of self catering breaks and this one was excellent value.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Cabin was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Loved sitting on patio gazing at nature and the bifold doors let the outside in. No terrestrial TV channels but enjoyed some satellite viewing. Really tranquil setting - great for r&r. Recommend White Bull in Ribchester and Holmes brewery in Clitheroe for dining/drinks.

This small business was a pleasure to deal with, real people who you could phone to give you advice and information. Kingfisher Lodge was very pleasant, comfortable accommodation, ideal for the 2 of us.
Very near to lovely places to eat out, and a nearby foodshop and post office.

Ribble Valley holiday homes is a very nice and very well appointed place to stay. We stayed in Kingfisher lodge for a family wedding. A number of family members stayed in cottages on site too and they were all very nice and very generally sized.
