The owners of this stunning property have put a lot of thought into creating a stylish and welcoming home from home and the attention to detail is fantastic. There are 2 bedrooms, one double and one zip and link. Both have built in wardrobes so there is lots of storage space available. The living room has comfy leather sofas, a dining area and large patio doors leading out on to the covered balcony. Somewhere we are sure you will spend a lot of time! The gorgeous kitchen is very well equipped and has a large American style fridge freezer, oven, hob and microwave as well as all the china, utensils, pots and pans you could wish for. If you like cooking, you will love this kitchen! Downstairs, off the entrance hall, there is a utility room (an ideal place for your dog to sleep) and a large shower room, plus the entrance to the integrated garage area.

We have stayed numerous times at the stables and as always our last stay was excellent again. Immaculate properly luxurious property with all you can ask for. Comfortable and warm and if you were cold a log burner too. Great beds and a lovely bath with a walk in shower on lower floor too. A thoroughly stocked kitchen with all so you can cook with ease. Large fridge freezer too. Walks from the door into amazing woodlands. WiFi is quite slow but is there for you use too. Will be back again for sure

This was way above our hopes of a holiday, what a beautiful home we cannot fault this so well equipted, furnished, and presented, lovley views wish we could holiday in this one more than we have one very special place. Hope to come back again. My score is over the above 11/10.

This was our 3rd stay and as usual the property was immaculately clean and is a credit to the owners Suzanne and Tam, anything you could possibly need is on hand the kitchen has every utensil needed for cooking a main meal if you wished or you can view the house book for some recommendations for where to eat out, the bedrooms are excellent and as you’d expect spotlessly clean and the beds themselves were nice and comfy this house screams quality and is perfect for our party, there’s not enough stars to rate this we love it that much, we would recommend this to everyone wanting a great stay in Scotland to come and stay at the Stables

We’ve just returned from our 3rd stay at The Stables.

In all the times we’ve stayed, the standard of The Stables from the welcome and friendliness of Suzanne and Tam, the cleanliness and the facilities had never faltered. Top notch!

We both absolutely love it there and it gives us the peace and quiet we need on holiday. I even don’t mind cooking as the kitchen is beautiful.

There are so many other places we could stay but The stables gives us everything we love….we’ve booked for next year!

Our third summer visit to The Stables. Once again Suzanne, the owner, is a superior host going out of her way to make us very welcome. She is extremely thoughtful by providing so many extras in her house, such as flowers, biscuits and many beverages. (The hanging baskets were superb) The house is so well equipped and it’s obvious Suzanne spends many hours attending to the house. The Stables is a 5 minute drive into Dunkeld, but the rural aspect suited our group. We always feel so relaxed whilst staying at The Stables.

Of all the holiday cottages that we have ever stayed in, this beats them all, in every aspect.
Suzanne looks after all the small details, that make such a hugh difference! She herself, is charming and helpful.
The property is furnished to a high standard, beautiful linens, comfy beds, lots of hot water, heating that is under your own control. The list of goodies is endless!
Whatever the weather, you will have comfort and warmth, with lovely woodland walks, right out of the door.
An amazing location, tucked away, yet only a few minutes drive from Dunkeld. Far reaching views.
Everything good about it, and the owners, Suzanne and Tam with their three lovely horses and their sheep!

Suzanne, Tam and Samantha are lovely people who show respect, care and kindness to all - they are as kind and caring to their horses, dogs and all other creatures as they are to their guests at the Stables. The property is presented in immaculate condition. It is well appointed and the fixtures and fittings are of the highest standard. Suzanne’s commitment to excellence with regard to cleanliness is apparent throughout and her meticulous approach to the smallest thoughtful detail is really remarkable.
We had the most wonderful week at the Stables and our two labradors are still depressed about having to leave the fabulous country walks straight from the door.

A beautiful house in a fantastic location just outside Dunkeld. Quiet, peaceful, with some walks straight from the door. The Stables has a very well equipped kitchen and the house is spotless throughout. Even our four legged friends have been considered. The views from the balcony are fabulous. A great spot for a drink in the afternoon sunshine ( yes we had some sunny days). The owners were very friendly and gave us suggestions for places to visit, walks and places to eat.

This was our second visit to the Stables in 4 years, it is now our default place to stay, and always will be. The location is ideal for us, close enough to Dunkeld, yet a 5 minute drive back to stables for the amazing views, peaceful surroundings and incredibly high standards of cleanliness and comfort. The owners are not at all intrusive and only there if/when you need them. We would strongly suggest putting the Stables on your shortlist if you're considering this area, it really is faultless.

We stayed last summer and enjoyed The Stables and surrounding countryside, we did not hesitate to book again. The owners Suzanne and Tam go out of their way to welcome you to their holiday let. The house is the best we’ve stayed in regarding the equipment, furnishings, and all the extras provided by Suzanne.

We loved the peace and rural location of TheStables, yet only a five minute drive into Dunkeld. The balcony allows you to gaze out onto the open fields and observe the variety of wildlife and animals.

I would highly recommend The Stables for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have been many times to this wonderful property now and each time we are delighted to stay they. Standards remain very high and the house is a beautifully furnished , warm and comfortable place to stay. The kitchen is very well equipped which for us is essential. This was our first time staying at The Stables, and were there for three weeks. We have stayed in many self catering properties over the years, both home and abroad, and I can honestly say this is one of the best. Absolutely 5 star.

The property looks great from the outside and is in a beautifully scenic and quiet location, but conveniently only a few minutes drive from Dunkeld and all its facilities. Dunkeld is literally just off the main A9 road which links you to most of the Cairngorms National Park.

We were greeted by the owner Suzanne who was very friendly and made us feel most welcome. Upon stepping inside the property it was not only immaculate, but smelt wonderful too. We immediately felt at home and were able to relax into our holiday. Suzanne has gone to a lot of trouble to ensure that everything you could possibly need, no matter how small, is thought of and provided in the property. This included fresh flowers, milk, cookies and supplies of tea and coffee on our arrival, which were a lovely thought and much appreciated.

The property is warm and modern, in excellent condition, immaculately clean and all fixtures, furniture, linens and kitchen equipment are of a really high standard. Detailed instructions and information about the property and surrounding area are provided. The rooms are a good size, light and airy with a large balcony with table and chairs which is sheltered and a real sun trap. A great place to sit out and enjoy the lovely views of the surrounding countryside.

We enjoyed hiking in the surrounding area and even managed to 'bag' three Munros during our stay. There are lots of other things to do nearby, all within fairly easy reach thanks to the property's proximity to the A9, but far enough away to escape from the noise and feel you're out in the countryside.

I would definitely recommend The Stables as a great place to stay.

What can I say about the Stables other than if there was a 10 star rating it would definitely get it, the property was spotless and the owners are so welcoming and were around to answer any questions that we had about where to go for meals etc and the horses and sheep were a pleasure to see just enjoying a great life.
On our way to the property Suzanne the owner even rang to warn us of an accident on the A9 and it was closed in both directions and advised us of a different route, that is great customer service, I can only say that our party didn’t want to go home and we will definitely be booking a stay again.

This was our fourth time at The Stables so we obviously love it. The accommodation is in a fabulous location for visiting Dunkeld and the surrounding area with only a five minute drive to Dunkeld. The apartment is beautifully furnished and is always immaculate with every household item you can think of to make your stay comfortable. We have stayed in many self catering houses and can honestly say The Stables is the best equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Suzanne greeted us with the warmest welcome which was well received. She is a very generous host providing us with extras and her house was well stocked, which we greatly appreciated. Our stay was very relaxing due to the quietness and comfort within and around the setting of the house.
We really enjoyed watching the variety of birds and wildlife from the living room, spotting red squirrels and even a red kite! It was lovely watching the sheep, horses and hens, which our grandchildren loved when they stayed at The Stables in 2020.
The Stables is a great base for walking in the local area. You can just step outside and follow the core path without travelling in the car. We would highly recommend The Stables and look forward to returning in the near future. Thank you Suzanne and Tom.

On our recent trip to Scotland with our two dogs, we decided to stay in three different self catering places (all similarly priced) and The Stables was head and shoulders the star of our holiday. Great location (Dunkeld for provisions and the River Tay and The Hermitage for beautiful walks), spotlessly clean and comfortable, bright light and airy, brilliantly equipped kitchen, and large utility/boot room for wet dogs and coats. Our hosts even provided baby gates so the dogs could feel relaxed whilst drying off before sprawling in front of the wood burner in the sitting room! The dog friendly Meikleour Arms (one of our host’s recommendations) was fabulous.

A year since of our first visit we returned to stay in the Stables again. On our first visit we found everything clean, modern and welcoming with one of the most attentive and thoughtful hosts we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. So our expectations had been raised for our return stay and there’s sometimes a level of trepidation that you may not find things as good or enjoy yourselves as much.

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Suzanne and family and as soon as we opened the door we could immediately tell that the Stables are maintained to the same high standard we found previously and we could see small but valuable improvements that Suzanne has made based on direct communication with guests. For example, when we departed last year Suzanne asked if we could think of any improvements/additions and based on what we said, we found a new coat stand in the utility to hang all our coats. This approach has also meant the Stables has the best equipped kitchen we have ever seen in a self catering accommodation with quality utensils.

The weather was dry and sometimes sunny and we visited some familiar and some new places. The position of the Stables is very near to Dunkeld (5 mins drive) but tucked away in a quiet area. Being near the A9 means most places are easily accessible and even the more distant places are only an hour (give or take) by car . We visited Anstruther on the Fife coast one day and the Ardverikie estate at Loch Laggan on another day but the Cally car park just outside Dunkeld provides local walks around the Atholl woods or to Loch Ordie.

If the weather does take a turn or you fancy an easier day, then the Stables lounge is a great place to relax looking out at Suzanne’s horses and sheep, with a lovely log burner if it’s very cold or you just want a real fire. The nut feeder also attracts a daily red squirrel visitor, so great if you want to practise your photography skills. There is also some walks straight from the Stables, that wind up the hillside and through the woods and give good views.

In summary we had another fantastic stay and we will return for a third visit.

Fantastic stay with family of 4 and dog.
Everything was in place for us from our arrival to departure.
We were made to feel very welcome by Sussane and tam who supplied us with fresh eggs from the resident hens.
This is the perfect location for exploring different areas of Dunkeld and enjoying the lovely views from the farmhouse balcony.
Would recommend the stables for anyone traveling with dogs or young family.

Wonderful stay at the stables in dunkeld. Excellent hosts who couldn’t do enough for us. The property is lovely and you could sit on the balcony and watch the wildlife all day, kids particularly enjoyed the horses and the red squirrel. It’s in a good location to get around the area only a couple of minutes from dunkeld and 15-20 mins from perth, Pitlochry etc. Highly recommend staying here and we would go back in a heartbeat.

An immaculately clean, very comfortable property with lovely views, just a few miles from Dunkeld Centre. Suzanne was very welcoming.
The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly want and more.
Fresh eggs from the chicken left in the kitchen were a real treat.
Living rooms and bedrooms were well furnished, bed linen was of good quality.
showers were powerful and plentiful towels supplied.
There is also a utility room. dogs were very welcome. stair gates and ironing board available
I would definitely recommend.

This is a place we will return to again and again. It’s 10 mins from dunkeld and set in an elevated position with walks from the door. The house itself is very well furnished with quality fittings and great beds. The kitchen is also set up for those that want to cook. Wifi is good and the TVs have Netflix etc . The lounge doors open onto a deck which is a great open air space. The owners left food basics in the kitchen which was very much appreciated. The house is so warm and comfortable we did not want to leave. Owners are helpful and personable. The track leading up to the house is not a made up road but an ordinary car can cope as long as it’s not icy or snowy. Parking is easy and secure.

We really enjoyed our week at The Stables. The property is wonderful, it is so thoughtfully finished and feels really spacious. Everything about the property was so clean and fresh. It is really well equipped, especially the kitchen making everything seem very homely. We enjoyed some lovely drinks in the sun on the balcony in the evenings which was fabulous looking out over the amazing views. We went for great walks every day, our favourite walks were definitely the ones right on the doorstep, you can walk for miles and miles from the house with gorgeous scenery and views.

Suzanne was a fabulous host, she was very patient and kind with our children who were very (overly!) eager to find out all about the animals! We would definitely recommend this property and can’t wait to visit again ourselves.

From the moment we arrived after a very long journey, we knew from the greeting we were given my Suzanne (waving to us eagerly from the fields) that we would be made to feel welcome. Suzanne and family were one of the highlights of our stay but also the fantastic accommodation, the location and the views were all part of the fantastic week we had. We’ve stayed in many cottages but I would rate this among the best we’ve had the pleasure of spending time in. If you like cooking then the kitchen is fully equipped with high quality tools and appliances.

Although this is our fourth time in the local area, This is the first time we’ve stayed near to Dunkeld and we quickly realised being near to the A9 allowed us quicker access to other places but it’s worth noting the Stables is tucked away nicely from the town and so is really quiet with starry skies and wildlife (deer and red squirrels) in the woods behind.

The upstairs living room looks over the fields where the family have horses and six sheep and we loved to watch the sheep wander around, all set against a backdrop of Birnam Hill in the distance, with mist often rising between the fir tree in a morning, making for great photos. The log burner is also worth mentioning as it’s great to have a real fire but honestly the heating in the Stables is excellent anyway.

In spite of the current COVID restrictions everywhere, we didn’t feel that we had to compromise and Suzanne made any interim measures seem painless when we sadly had to leave at the end of our stay.

The Stables was the perfect location for our family and pup, tucked away just outside Dunkeld and close to so many great walks in this stunning area. The cottage is incredibly well equipped, comfortable and was immaculately clean. The hosts had thought about everything, provided a very warm welcome and were on hand with advice and tips. Wonderful wildlife with deer in the woodland behind the cottage, red squirrels coming into the garden and housemartens farting around the courtyard. We loved the balcony - perfect for a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Well worth the long road trip.

We chose the Stables for a late booking holiday, based on location and very good reviews. We were not disappointed. Very well equipped and everything of a high standard.
From the welcome pack to the welcome itself. From relaxing on the the balcony, looking at lovely views and walking in the surrounding countryside with the dog, the holiday surpassed our expectations. We also had a couple of nice meals in the gardens of the Athol Arms in Dunkeld, just a couple of miles away. This we would also recommend.
We will be back again next year, and sooner if we can get a booking.

Highly recommended.

One observation; the COVID protocols for packing up before leaving took longer than we expected. This is just an unfortunate requirement of these times.

Wonderful hosts and a wonderfully private location. The accommodation has been built and specced to very high standards and we wanted for absolutely nothing. The house was beautiful, immaculately clean & very homely. Lots of space, beds very comfortable and plenty utensils/household items in the kitchen for a weekend away. The hosts were very welcoming & kind. Good parking right outside front door. Dog also felt very welcome and spent most of his time on the large veranda that overlooks the lovely countryside. Just returned from a five night stay at the recently converted 'Stables'. Beautifully furnished throughout, with some lovely finishing touches. Great living area with a veranda looking out onto picturesque countryside. Two good sized bedrooms with comfy beds and large fitted wardrobes to both. Two very well equipped bathrooms with great showers. Kitchen was brilliant, everything you need and more. Suzanne and Tam, our hosts, were lovely and very accommodating, nothing was a problem. I am sure any problems you may encounter will be dealt with immediately. We would, without a doubt, recommend this holiday let to anyone looking for a nice peaceful getaway with all mod cons, a 'home away from home'. We would love to return again. The Gowens Family.

We had a wonderful stay at The Stables. The house is stunning and has everything that you could possibly need. The house is set in rolling countryside, yet still close enough to the lovely village of Dunkeld. Loads of country walks and beautiful scenery. Suzanne was a great host. We loved the extra little touches, fresh eggs and cookies. We will definitely be back for another stay and would thoroughly recommend staying at The Stables. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
