The Cranny is the only privately owned thatched roundhouse in Winterton-on-Sea, and is hidden away in the centre of the village with it's own secluded garden. The Cranny sleeps four in two double bedrooms, with two bathrooms. Dogs will love the garden and two are welcome free of charge.

Great place to stay.

The Cranny is a lovely thatched cottage.
Very clean and comfortable, It has all the equipment you need. A secure garden for the dogs to roam around safely.
Situated near to the beach, Village has a good pub, small supermarket, fish and chip shop, tea room. And a
Lovely old church.

Amazing cottage that we were grateful to be able to return to. Amenities on your doorstep, beach and dunes 5 minutes walk, cosy and comfortable lounge, secure garden for our dog and seals on the beach. What else could you ask for?!

We had a lovely stay at The Cranny.. it’s a unique property in the middle of the village, close to the pub, shop and Fish&Chip shop… it’s also a minutes walk from the dunes.. it is well equipped and comfortable and unusually has a tv in each bedroom as well as the lounge which we found handy… it has a secure garden for a dog and off road parking.. the owners kindly left us some lovely goodies on arrival as well as a much welcomed bottle of milk in the fridge.. this is my second stay at this property and I have no doubt it won’t be my last.. I highly recommend

Lovely little cottage in central position in the village, so cosy and well equipped. The cottage was very nicely presented with a lovely pretty garden. We felt very welcome, and enjoyed a comfortable peaceful stay.

The Cranny is a short walk from the village shops and the chippy. The Fire Assembly Point can be considered as the Fisherman's Return! It is in an ideal spot and, after so many return visits, feels like home.

We had a lovely holiday at the Cranny. We stayed over New Year and it was still nicely decorated for the festive period. The cottage was lovely and warm despite the storms raging outside during our stay. The garden was fully enclosed and good for our dog (it looks like it would be really lovely in the summer). The beds were extremely comfortable and the cottage overall was well equipped. There is parking for two medium sized cars (we had a SUV and VW Polo easily parked).
The location is very convenient for the excellent pub, fish & chip shop, general store and Post Office/Poppy's Cafe. The Winterton beach and dunes (and very good Beach cafe) are an easy short walk away.

When we arrived in Winterton with our 2 border collies for the week over Christmas we realised how perfect it was for us. Easy parking for the car, a safe garden for the dogs, warm and inviting cottage beautifully decorated for Christmas, and a thoughtful welcome pack. Finding that there were seal families all over the beach and some in the sand dunes just 5 mins walk away was the perfect nativity scene. There are plenty of dog friendly and seal-free beaches nearby when needed and just being able to pause for a while watching nature at its best was lovely.

The cottage was comfortable and the areas well designed. The kitchen was perfect for cooking Christmas dinner and we couldn't fault the amenities provided.

We would definitely go back to the Cranny - unfortunately it is already booked for our wedding anniversary or we could have already made the booking!

The Cranny is a lovely cottage, we stayed in November so couldn't take advantage of the wonderful garden but the cottage was warm and comfortable. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the amazing sand dunes and beach, both of which are perfect for dog walking. The Fisherman's Rest is just a short walk away, as is Poppy's Tea Room, both dog friendly and highly recommended. We're already planning our next visit!
