Located in a small, quiet close with no through traffic, 1 The Gee Gee is only 70 metres from the beach and only a 10 minute walk to East Wittering village centre.

The property has three bedrooms, a shower room and an ensuite bathroom, a separate sitting room and sunny conservatory off the kitchen. The garden is lawned and has a neat patio with furniture for al fresco dining and relaxing.

The accommodation is simply furnished and all in all is excellent value.

No Pets, sorry!

We loved our stay in 1 Gee Gee. The position is great - near the beach - quiet - friendly neighbours and the house had a comfy feel. The number and variety books were a lovely surprise and the house well laid out and the occupiers needs well catered for.
There were a couple of things that needed attention.
The kitchen door does not shut
The smoke detector (I think it was smoke not heat) in the kitchen went off with very little provocation.
The curtains in the ground floor bedroom are see-through at night when the lights are on.
We would certainly like to book it again.

Overall the bungalow was comfortable and well-equipped - an amazing selection of books for example, but we found a few drawbacks- the door locks were very awkward if you are unfamiliar with that type and there was no information to guide you - every time coming in or going out we struggled with them. We were unfortunate with staying during an unseasonably cold snap, switched on heaters but there was no means of working out how to increase the heat - no manual- and in any case the original on-line blurb had stated night storage heaters, which didn't seem to be the case. I have never been so cold on holiday when getting up! I can't remember whether the info stated 'no pets' or not but there dog hairs on the conservatory couch and on a blanket upstairs. Apparently the upstairs bedroom mattress was hard and the ensuite bathroom could have done a shower of some sort. Lack of relevant information is not unusual in holiday accommodation but I did unearth a folder of partly outdated manuals - the TV for instance must have been replaced by a newer model - but how to get 'catch-up' channels remained a mystery. We are not complete technophobes either. Please could owners bear in mind that not everyone has the same kind of lock, appliance or whatever - nor does everyone own a dishwasher - a request to use on the last morning when trying to get off quickly was another hurdle. In spite of all this and the weather we did enjoy our break and the area, but I would not wish to book this particular bungalow again.

All the facilities to ensure a really good time is guaranteed.

Beach just yards away. Very quiet location and just a short walk from the shops in East Wittering.

This review may be biased as we have been coming to the Witterings for 5 years now and staying at 1 Gee Gee. We love it!
It's location is ideal for beach lovers being a 2 minute walk away. The bungalow itself is situated in a private road with it's residents always willing to stop and chat. There is plenty of off road parking on the drive and a garden at the back for soaking up the sun.
The bungalow has a kitchen with cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. The conservatory we used as a dining room, but can get very warm. A showeroom with a powerful shower is useful.
But.. Since a loft conversion has been done between our stays the bungalow is in need of a lot of TLC. the front garden wall has collapsed, and the standard of workmanship is very poor leaving ceilings and woodwork in need of repainting.
Would we stay in 1 Gee Gee again?
Absolutely, the little bungalow can only get better.

The bungalow has been well used and not looked after by previous people with hidden breakage like the bathroom shelf. Baileys were excellent with the various issues the garden was a mess and the cleaning well it needed a deep clean and a bottle of disinfect which it got from us. It's in a lovely situation but beware dont park on the verge the home owners will come and sort you out, even though the main drain surround was broken which is why we used the verge

Sadly, guests do not always let us know about accidents and breakages etc. therefore leaving it until the next guests check in to find these hidden issues. We are addressing the gardening situation and can only apologies for the state you found the garden in. We have also taken your comments on board and have spoken with the cleaning team. We do ask all our guests to contact us immediately if there are any issues on check in, we do try to resolve any problems straight away. As for the parking situation, the homeowners around there are very precious about the verges, they do like to keep a tidy road, hence, all the properties do have off road parking. The bungalow is in a lovely position 57 steps to the beach, the bungalow would be perfect for fisherman, water sports and walking. It's basic but it's OK. We had help from baileys with one or two things needed sorting, I recommend baileys all the staff are efficient thanks

I love this little two bedroom bungalow, it's well kept back garden is an ideal sun trap if a day out to the beach is not for you. Garden bench and sun brolly, folding bed and wooden chairs are provided along with a clothes line.
Nice conservatory/ dining area with large table and chairs and sofa are provided. We didn't really use the cooking facilities but it's all available.
Small lounge with WiFi and TV is nice to relax in and is comfortable.
Small bedroom with a double bed and plenty of storage is all that is required, we used the other bedroom as a dressing room.
Within a two minute walk your on the beach and five minutes your in the village with it's shops, pubs and restaurants... Absolutely perfect. That's why we have been coming back to East Wittering every year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short break at this property. Being situated a mere 2 minutes from the beach was ideal for us, and we preferred being at a distance from the traffic in the village centre. The accommodation is basic, but adequate.

1 Gee Gee is a two bed bungalow literally 3mins to the sea front and a 10min walk to the local shops and restaurants. It has it's own little sun trap garden with washing line and garden furniture, a conservatory with table and chairs can be used as a dining room if the weather gets threatening. Plenty of storage space and nicely appointed kitchen makes holidaying perfect. Looking forward to coming back next year.

I'll start by saying that the location of this property is perfect. Just a short walk to the beach and you can hear the sea from the back garden, which is wonderful. There's a generous amount of parking (essential in Wittering) and it's dog friendly.

However, the level of cleaning was disappointing - I understand that the restrictions imposed by Covid-19 mean that it is more of a challenge to maintain properties at the usual standard, however it's in serious need of a deep clean. I've already fed this back to Baileys so hopefully action will be taken.

The decor and furniture are okay but a little dated, but then we didn't go for that.

I would definitely stay here again, but now I know more about the property I would go prepared - it's been a chilly May and the heating's not that great so we should've taken more jumpers!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. We would stay in this property again and probably recommend it to friends and family - but it does need some tlc

We arrived to the heady scent of bleach so there was no question the place was sterilised and covid-free. Great little cottage located stones throw from beach and 5 mins to local shops and cafes. Had all the basics for family of four. Excellent off street parking. Enjoyed some of the reading material on offer.
Could do with some better/more crockery, cutlery and kitchen knives, (but we tend to prepare food and eat more at home than is perhaps normal for most holiday makers and just forgot our own knives this time).
Also grill and oven trays hadn’t been cleaned before our arrival.

Day 1 could not get out of conservatory door. A man came to fix it and said it was the wrong door ,fitted the lock upside down to get it to work. Day2 storage heaters not working, someone came to fix. The next day still not working,electrician came to fix, still not working,so Baileys gave us a convector heater. After a few days the hot water ran out so we could not have a shower. A plumber came and said it was an airlock . He also said it would happen again as the tank was to small. He was right it did happen again,so another couple of days with no hot water. Three lamps not working. There are wires trailing across the floor everywhere as there are not enough sockets . All in all not a good 2 weeks.

Good, comfortable accommodation. Somewhat distant from the village, nearer to Bracklesham than East Wittering.

This is not the fault of the owners or Baileys but the shortest way into the village is almost impassable for disability scooters due to speed humps and potholes, resulting in having to detour via more suitable roads.
