Another excellent 5* property from Mill House Cottages created by charming hosts Suzanne and Kevin who were on hand to offer a warm welcome and advice. Area a bit thin on good local eateries.
Great location, great accommodation, great amenities… hard to beat this if you’re looking for an easily-reached middle-of-the-country option for a large group. We had 16 adults and 5 small children and we were fully accommodated by the wonderful hosts. When you’re this close to a pub, farm play park, walks literally out of your door, Oxenholme station and the M6 there’s little more you could ask for.
Beautiful accommodation in a lovely setting. So much attention to detail with everything. Lovely hosts and good communication pre and during our stay. Would definitely love to go back.
We had a lovely stay at Drakes Barn for 4 nights. It was well appointed, well styled, clean warm and comfortable. We enjoyed the rural location, cosy hot tub and even cosier fireplace! Would not hesitate to recommend, however, access road unsuitable for sports cars and HGVs!
Everything about this lovely home was exceptional - it was spotlessly clean, it was extremely comfortable and very well equipped. We loved its position too, very private even though there was another house close by, and the views were beautiful. It’s close to the village which has a good co-op, pubs and an amazing secondhand bookshop, which was a great find. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in New Thornber, we couldn’t think of even one suggestion to improve anything - the house really is that good.
A lovely location with easy accessible walks along the river, many local features to see, with shops and pubs within walking distance, these are literally on your doorstep. The house and setting are fantastic, lovely and view, each room decorated and furnished to a high standard making any stay here relaxing and comfortable.
Box Tree Cottage is in the perfect location; permitting exploration of a variety of interesting places both locally, around Barbon, and further afield, in the Lake District. The cottage is superbly well equipped and exceptionally comfortable. The hosts and local community are extremely welcoming and helpful.
Beautiful barn conversion, the photographs don’t do it justice. The location is remote but only a few miles away from Settle which was worth a visit. Will definitely return.
A great location, the house and the facilities were second to none. The private beach was great for the dogs and overall we had a relaxing and enjoyable week.
for my taste, there could be less decorative stuff on the ground floor and it could be a bit emptier so that you have more space; I would also like the drawing room to be emptier and more open
Excellent location. Very comfortable cottage with very nice private rear garden for ourselves with a glass of wine and our small pooch Molly. Highly recommend
We had a lovely relaxing week at The Barn, first class accommodation and very tastefully converted. Idyllic location with stunning views, lots of walks in the area, and the weather was kind - only one half day of rain. We will most definitely use Mill House Cottages in the future.
Fantastic house, spotlessly clean, beautiful surroundings. Stunning walks nearby. We loved every minute of our stay.
The cow shed provides a idillic setting for a special break . It is luxuriously furnished with everything you need for a short break provided. The instructions provided beforehand were very clear especially the written directions to the location as the sat nav took you elsewhere. We would certainly visit again and highly recommend it .
Third time we’ve stayed with Mill House cottages and another very enjoyable experience. The barn was in a great location and very well presented.
The cottage is situated at the end of a single track road in a stunning location. Beautiful accommodation.
Had a fabulous time at Villa Le Bastidou. The villa is incredible, has everything you could possibly need and very luxurious, the outdoor space and pool was amazing. Great location, lovely and peaceful but a very short drive to the village which is really nice, and St Tropez and other great locations very easy to get to. We'll be back I'm sure!
Ideal size for two adults (two medium dogs). The welcome pack was poor (pint of milk, bottle of wine, biscuits a few tea bags and a third of a kitchen roll) the least generous we have experienced. Beds very good as well as bedding and towels. There is a nice grass area for the dogs ideal for nighttime toilet however as it is not secure dogs could be distracted and get into the fields with livestock in. A motion sensor light there would be good too for pickups. The weather was not good at all, despite that we enjoyed our stay. The cleaner and owner were very friendly. In at 4.00pm and out at 10...more
Really enjoyed our stay at The Stables. Kirkby Lonsdale is two minutes away and has everything you need, good butcher, bakery and green grocer. Ideally located for outdoors exploring with an endless supply of walking and biking routes either from the door step or by car. Very well looked after by the hosts Anneka & Patrick, would really recommend without doubt.
Spent 3 nights in this beautiful, luxurious accommodation. Fantastic location for other places to visit and great pub just a minutes walk away. Would definitely recommend.
This house really has everything. Two complaints.Stairs not easy for older people no bannisters worth talking about.Stones at parking area not easy to walk on especially with luggage.Nothing more to add.
Lovely accommodation, positioned on beautifully maintained park. Within easy reach of M6. Great facilities.
We had a fantastic time, including walks and village events (Barton Hill Climb) just minutes from the front door. It’s had a very good renovation and retains its charm and many original features. Decoration was top notch. All the fixtures and fittings worked perfectly and it was well equipped with quality items. We didn’t test ‘customer service’ as apart from the booking site we needed no interaction during our stay. We shared the space with friends, another couple, and it is suitable for this in our opinion. The property does have a modern ‘almost spiral’ staircase to access upstairs and if...more
The setting for the cottage is beautiful and so peaceful. We were a group of 3 couples, so I'd picked this property as it could accommodate 6 with each couple having access to their own bathroom. The cottage itself is very nicely decorated but we were a little disappointed with some aspects. The main bathroom didn't have a functioning lock. One of the windows in the twin room had blown and there were items I would have expected the kitchen to have that were missing. There were no scissors, no set of 6 tumblers or equivalent for a gin and tonic (although there were about 20 wine glasses!),...more
Loved the house - very light, airy & spacious. The kitchen was very well stocked. The children’s bedroom was lovely (even though we didn’t use it!) with lots of toys which was a nice touch. A few points - the very stained hall carpet was not a very welcoming entrance. And also as you came in the front door we noticed the fuse box didn’t have a cover & had bare wires - not very safe! Especially if you had children. Also the smoke alarm on the top floor was disabled which also wasn’t very safe & perhaps is a legal requirement? Overall though we had a great time and would return.
Stayed four nights. Weather was appalling so didn’t explore much and appreciated the comfort and facilities in the cottage. Although furnishings were generally of a high quality, the foam pillows were a disappointment. Lighting in the sitting room was a bit dull if you wanted to read … it would benefit from an uplighter or two. Limited space in the kitchen if you’re bringing your own food.
Had an excellent stay with 6 adults sharing comfortably. Location is brilliant, a short drive to fort William and driving distance to Skye. Comfortable, spacious, clean and jetty is a huge bonus. Would recommend and would happily stay again.
Unfortunately we stayed at the barn before it was finished but for the money paid I would have expected a higher standard or to have been notified in advance. What has been finished is done to an exceptional standard although with such small bedrooms this would have worked better as a 2 bedroom than a 3 bedroom. A couple of times in the stay I tried to contact the owners as directed but got no reply which didn’t help. However the sun shone and views are to die for. This is not for children due to upstairs windows.
first time at bronte hideaway everything was fist class close to kirkby lonsdale nice walk around the back of property along the river will be back
