We had two very enjoyable nights at this lovely property in an idyllic setting. Very well equipped kitchen, and cosy living area with triple doors opening on to the sunny patio area. The bathroom was spacious and had a powerful shower and the bedroom had a large a comfy bed. I suspect we will return there again and again.
Another excellent 5* property from Mill House Cottages created by charming hosts Suzanne and Kevin who were on hand to offer a warm welcome and advice. Area a bit thin on good local eateries.
Great location, great accommodation, great amenities… hard to beat this if you’re looking for an easily-reached middle-of-the-country option for a large group. We had 16 adults and 5 small children and we were fully accommodated by the wonderful hosts. When you’re this close to a pub, farm play park, walks literally out of your door, Oxenholme station and the M6 there’s little more you could ask for.
Great accommodation and location very private and quiet. Lots of suggestions for walks and local restaurants
We had a lovely family weekend at New Thornber. The house is immaculately clean and presented and has amazing countryside views from every window. Very well equipped with everything you need. Communication with Laura was great and we really appreciated the welcome hamper and the fresh flowers around the house. Thanks for a lovely stay!
Ruskin's View was exceptional. The cottage was luxurious and maintained to a very high standard. The welcome gifts were amazing and generously thoughtful including a delicious home baked cake. The cottage location is superb. It is in the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale, close to all amenities and within easy reach of the Dales and the Lakes and the hot tub is a delightful added touch after a day exploring. The views surrounding are fabulous. We hope to return one day.
A beautiful cottage, an idyllic location, friendly host and it all added up to a wonderful experience. We will be back!
House was as advertised. Modern, clean and spacious. And directly on the water. 3 bedrooms plus 3.5 baths. Perfect for a family holiday in the Highlands.
A very well equipped property, suitable for a family or a group of friends. Close to all amenities in Kirkby Lonsdale
Beautiful barn conversion, the photographs don’t do it justice. The location is remote but only a few miles away from Settle which was worth a visit. Will definitely return.
This was our 2nd visit to Grouse Hall and we love it... Its a very peaceful and beautiful place, where you can just relax and chill or choose to wander the hills and dales to your hearts content. Great spot for stargazing too.
Everything you need for a relaxing holiday has been thought of. Beautiful garden ideal for enjoying the sun, also totally enclosed for our dog. Would visit again and recommend to others.
We had a lovely relaxing week at The Barn, first class accommodation and very tastefully converted. Idyllic location with stunning views, lots of walks in the area, and the weather was kind - only one half day of rain. We will most definitely use Mill House Cottages in the future.
Our second stay here and really enjoyed the house with the beautiful sun room and views across to Calf Fell. House has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Clean, good size, excellent for a dog as garden secure, and great location for walking and sight seeing.
Was an excellent stay as soon as you get there you feel at home Everything about the cow shed is perfect, only thing is roads up to it would not be suitable for anyone driving a 4X4 or same size.
The cottage was very well furnished and equipped and extremely warm - only downside limited TV channels.
The weekend break away in the Dog House Cottage was just amazing!!! Everything was just perfect; down to the finishing touches. We were made very welcome and will be certainly going back to another Mill House Cottage for another weekend break away. Could not fault it. Thank you very much Donna and John Prestwich
We stayed at Le Bastidou for one week and could have stayed for ever. The house has been newly renovated and is absolutely immaculate. The pool and gardens are wonderful and we spent a couple of days relaxing when we weren't out and about enjoying the local area. On Julie's recommendation we took the passenger ferry across to St Tropez rather than drive . Great experience watching all the super yachts going into port in the evening. The local village is very authentic with lovely bars and cafes. Would thoroughly recommend and we can't wait to go back next year
Excellent from the start. V straight forward communication, lovely house & the most comfortable beds. Good value for money too. Highly recommended, would def stay again.
Really enjoyed our stay at The Stables. Kirkby Lonsdale is two minutes away and has everything you need, good butcher, bakery and green grocer. Ideally located for outdoors exploring with an endless supply of walking and biking routes either from the door step or by car. Very well looked after by the hosts Anneka & Patrick, would really recommend without doubt.
The Old School Hall is a fabulous property. The conversion from the school building has been done with meticulous care and skill, and the result is a beautiful, slightly quirky, high spec, comfortable property in a great location. We were particularly impressed with the quality of everything - no skimping on anything! A niggle with one of the showers was resolved very speedily. It's great too that it's dog-friendly. We found only one (very minor) fault , which was that there was no butter dish... If you're looking for a special and extremely comfortable place for 6 people to stay, this comes h...more
Just wow, from the first moment of arriving everything was just perfect. A relaxing place to just unwind and destress. The cottage is equipped with everything you need to cook and chill. The hot tub was lovely. The cottage is perfectly located to explore should is wish and is surrounded by places to eat and explore. We really enjoyed our stay thank you so much
Enjoyed our stay. Excellent location for visiting all local attractions and touring the west coast. Wonderful spot.
We had a fantastic time, including walks and village events (Barton Hill Climb) just minutes from the front door. It’s had a very good renovation and retains its charm and many original features. Decoration was top notch. All the fixtures and fittings worked perfectly and it was well equipped with quality items. We didn’t test ‘customer service’ as apart from the booking site we needed no interaction during our stay. We shared the space with friends, another couple, and it is suitable for this in our opinion. The property does have a modern ‘almost spiral’ staircase to access upstairs and if...more
Location beautiful, despite very narrow access road Kitchen basic, utensils missing/tired Two bathrooms needing maintenance Fumes from heating boiler exhaust outlet entering house
We loved the house and the space was perfect especially the kitchen area and the courtyard (we had fab weather). We were a family of 3 and a couple so the bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect as we had our own floors. The only very small negatives were that we struggled to open the front door a few times and it’s a little bit confusing with second parking permit, we weren’t sure where we could park and didn’t realise there wouldn’t be an actual paper permit (the company register the 2nd car online) this didn’t spoil our stay and we will definitely be back. Location is fab also.
Stayed four nights. Weather was appalling so didn’t explore much and appreciated the comfort and facilities in the cottage. Although furnishings were generally of a high quality, the foam pillows were a disappointment. Lighting in the sitting room was a bit dull if you wanted to read … it would benefit from an uplighter or two. Limited space in the kitchen if you’re bringing your own food.
If anything that can define this gorgeous house by the lake, it's blissful! Loved our stay of 6n/7d but definitely felt like staying longer. Waking up to the amazing view every single morning was something we really looked forward to. The house was beautifully traditionally decorated. Everything was spic and span. Everything was well taken care off from the kitchen (everything you will ever need) to the bathrooms (towels, toilet rolls, shower gels) to the living room (huge collection of dvd's which came as a pleasant surprise) though there's an option of Netflix. But am so old school! ;) ...more
Another enjoyable stay and location is perfect. We’ve stayed in accommodation on a number of occasions over the years and enjoyed every visit. Sadly we were sorry to learn it will be our last visit due to both properties being put up for sale.
Unfortunately we stayed at the barn before it was finished but for the money paid I would have expected a higher standard or to have been notified in advance. What has been finished is done to an exceptional standard although with such small bedrooms this would have worked better as a 2 bedroom than a 3 bedroom. A couple of times in the stay I tried to contact the owners as directed but got no reply which didn’t help. However the sun shone and views are to die for. This is not for children due to upstairs windows.
Exceptional workmanship in the interior. The Classroom was very well equipped with stunning bathrooms.
Our first floor apartment (which cost £325k new) was spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. We had two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en suite) and a lounge/diner with open plan kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked & had new Neff appliances: dishwasher and oven. Chesterfield-style sofas and a dining room table & chairs featured in the lounge area. Sumptuous carpeting throughout. A balcony with table/chairs ran the length of the rear of the property. Very minor negatives: it is a flat so some noise inevitable (eg TV) from other residents. The floorboards in the property were a little creaky...more
