We stayed with family from 3rd to 6th March 2023. Really impressed with the property, location and accommodation. All in brand new condition and well looked after. Plenty of attention to detail. Proactive care from the team made sure we had all and more than we needed. The facilities in the accommodation are top class and kept in good condition. The location is simply fabulous! 2 mins from bars, restaurants and shops. Everything you need is at hand. The area is so picturesque walks are excellent. I feel sure we will be back.
We found a place nothing short of perfection. In a quiet countryside location, easily accessible, is a home where everything has been thought of. From pre arrival instructions to guide the traveller to parking outside your door. The cottage itself is an open plan layout leading on to a private patio with wide ranging views. If your lucky you may see hares running in the fields. The furniture and furnishings are of exceptional quality and taste. We literally could have transported everything home. The kitchen is well equipped. There is everything you need to cater - from a glass of wine to a 3 ...more
Absolutely wonderful. Hosts were amazing even sang Happy birthday to my wife on arrival. Only stayed for 2 nights but wish we had booked more. Lovely surroundings. Couldn't wish for a more beautiful place. Every little detail was well thought out. Decided to go for a walk and the hosts told us on a beautiful route to take which did not disappoint. Will definitely be booking in again
I needed somewhere remote yet functional with full WiFi and modern living appliances wrapped in luxury and with a stunning setting to work. I found it here. As a composer and song writer inspiration is vital and Foxhole Rigg provided it in abundance. If you want the best it has to be Mill House Cottages.
This was our third stay and the cottage was as good as ever. It is ideally located for both The Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage has everything you might need and lots of useful extra touches that make it a home from home. I can’t recommend it highly enough. It is quite simply perfect.
We love coming to Box Tree Cottage. We've booked it for three consecutive years and the welcome we receive from Peter and Jan is always very warm and they've thought of every comfort in the cottage. It feels like coming home.
We’ve stayed here as a group of friends a few times now and each time we’ve been really pleased. The house is a great size with plenty of downstairs space. All bedrooms are good sizes and with 3 en suite plus bathroom it means we can have a bathroom each. It’s extremely clean and a nice touch that robes & slippers are provided for the hot tub. The location is great. Perfect for a stroll into town or a longer walk around the area. Prices for next year seem to have shot up but I would like to think we will book again before too long if we can find a deal or offer!
We had such a lovely stay at Foxhole Rigg bar - the barn was immaculate and had everything you needed to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Will definitely be back again!
Beautiful barn conversion, the photographs don’t do it justice. The location is remote but only a few miles away from Settle which was worth a visit. Will definitely return.
Grouse Hall is a beautiful property. Modern, clean and the layout suited our visit perfectly. We particularly loved the open plan aspect of the property and the fire in the kitchen/dining/sitting area kept us very toasty! The views are amazing and in a great position for visiting other towns/villages nearby. We did a lovely round walk from the property. Would highly recommend.
We found The Nook really comfortable and the owners attentive but not intrusive. The area around it was great for walking and we found good places to eat. We would definately stay again.
Excellent place to stay little remote but that said great for walks etc Couple pubs in Bardon m worth visit as great people especially jules and john in church mouse Think a 4 pm check in and 10 am check out is little out of sync and needs changing
We visited Howgills Barn last weekend and woke up to snow on the first morning. The owners were welcoming and made sure the lane was gritted so we could go out. The cottage itself was warm and comfortable and it was a real treat to stay there. The views and countryside are stunning and there are lots of things to do and see in the area. We had previously had to rearrange our stay at short notice and this was not a problem. We would certainly recommend and would love to return.
Lovely accommodation right in the center of Kirkby Lonsdale furnished with just about everything that you could need. Garage parking is really useful too as there is no street parking in the vicinity. The only thing I would add is to provide a squeegee in the wet room. Wet rooms are Marmite to most people but we found it inconvenient to have to don shoes or get wet feet when using the toilet after someone had showered, especially at bedtime.
We had a lovely break at this extremely cosy and comfortable cottage. Walks from the door and views to die for! Julie could not have been more helpful. Thank you
We found the cottage by recommendation from a friend to use Mill House. We were not disappointed! The cottage is a little out of the way up a narrow lane but that was just fine. From 1st impression of The Dog House to the time we left we were impressed and comfortable. The website description is exactly what you get, well presented, comfortable and all you could need for a break away. Great walks from the cottage and good spot to explore by car too.
We stayed at Le Bastidou for one week and could have stayed for ever. The house has been newly renovated and is absolutely immaculate. The pool and gardens are wonderful and we spent a couple of days relaxing when we weren't out and about enjoying the local area. On Julie's recommendation we took the passenger ferry across to St Tropez rather than drive . Great experience watching all the super yachts going into port in the evening. The local village is very authentic with lovely bars and cafes. Would thoroughly recommend and we can't wait to go back next year
Everything was lovely but a small amount of extra cleaning is necessary…ie when i moved the bedside table to pick up something I had dropped it was filthy with dead flys and spiders. Windows need a clean inside. We tried to hoover but the hoover had no bag in and no end on it. Otherwise it was super.
Really enjoyed our stay at The Stables. Kirkby Lonsdale is two minutes away and has everything you need, good butcher, bakery and green grocer. Ideally located for outdoors exploring with an endless supply of walking and biking routes either from the door step or by car. Very well looked after by the hosts Anneka & Patrick, would really recommend without doubt.
Another wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage. Our 6th in fact. It never disappoints, with its outstanding location and comfort it truly feels like a home from home. We look forward to returning again very soon.
Excellent location for hiking in dales and lakes. Lovely quite village with beautiful views and walks. The cottage was perfect for our family of 3 and we had a fantastic week in one of the best spots in England before returning to Australia.
Very comfortable cottage in an a excellent location. Well presented & everything you need for a chilled break away.
Hilltop Cottage is a cosy and charming place. Very well equipped. Comfortable beds with good linen! Car parking easy. Communication with Mill House Cottages was excellent from start to finish. Lots of nice touches made a positive difference. Great location for some walks of all categories such as Barbon Circular, Yorkshire 3 peaks. Kirkby Lonsdale is a lovely market town 10 mins away. Can recommend the Barbon Inn and the Churchmouse deli...friendly, nothing too much trouble. Taxi recommendations from Millhouse were useful and very good service.
We had a wonderful holiday at Ingleview House with 3 generations of family .The house is very spacious along with the addition of the garden room which makes it perfect for large gatherings. We loved the terraced area and hot tub and the spectacular views over Ingleborough .The location is perfect for sampling what North Yorkshire and Cumbria have to offer .
We had a great holiday lodge was really nice and in a perfect position to explore the Lake District and surrounding area
We (a family of four adults from New Zealand) arrived on a snowy evening to a wonderful warm house. Beautifully appointed house with everything we needed. Our one query we asked by text message was answered immediately in a very friendly manner. Only comment for others being there in icy conditions is that the steps from the decking can be very slippery, even in the afternoon - especially for people not used to icy conditions . We would highly recommend Skye Fall which is in a stunning location.
The most beautiful, peaceful cottage in a gorgeous setting with an amazing garden. I would love to return
Unfortunately we stayed at the barn before it was finished but for the money paid I would have expected a higher standard or to have been notified in advance. What has been finished is done to an exceptional standard although with such small bedrooms this would have worked better as a 2 bedroom than a 3 bedroom. A couple of times in the stay I tried to contact the owners as directed but got no reply which didn’t help. However the sun shone and views are to die for. This is not for children due to upstairs windows.
