We had a lovely stay at Drakes Barn for 4 nights.
It was well appointed, well styled, clean warm and comfortable.
We enjoyed the rural location, cosy hot tub and even cosier fireplace!

Would not hesitate to recommend, however, access road unsuitable for sports cars and HGVs!

We had the most wonderful week at Drake‘s Barn. It‘s very comfortable inside and we loved to be there and just relax. We used the hot tub enjoying the peace and quietness of the sorrounding. The house was very neat and clean and we had everything we needed from crisp bedlinen to the most fluffy towels.
We instantly fell in love with beautiful Kirkby Lonesdale where we spent a lot of time and dined excellently.
We would always come back!

Fabulous accommodation with fantastic views. Stylish interior with a high standard of cleanliness. A recent refurb so the decoration and furnishings are in excellent condition. There are a few scuffs to paintwork (inevitably), but hopefully future guests will leave it as they find it so it can remain at this high standard. I think we are the only guests so far who haven't used the hot tub (not our thing), but everything else is spot on.





An excellent stay, set in a beautiful location, with your own mini "Grand Designs" accommodation.

An excellent find, set in the Cumbrian countryside this modern take on barn style accommodation designed and built to a high standard is almost new and has everything that you would want on a countryside break, spotlessly clean and well equipped with the wow factor windows giving stunning views across the fields and fells.

Great for local walking, visiting the nearby market town of Kirby Lonsdale or short drives to The Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks.

A true 5 out of 5! We will visit again.

We had a lovely time staying here despite the weather! The location is excellent allowing trips to either Lakes or Dales, the Barn is full of top of the range and new furnishings and finished lovely. The hot tub is also excellent (although takes a long time to heat up so could have been turned on before we arrived - only small gripe). Would recommend to anyone.

We chose Drakes Barn for a December break as it looked welcoming, top class and in one of our most favourite areas for a “close to home” holiday. It more than met our expectations especially given the weather we had, including snow. The grounds are so well cared for and the entrance and driveway well lit for night time arrivals. Indoors is spectacular with views to die for from every single window. We would not hesitate to book again and thank the owners for making Drakes Barn special.

We were impressed by the cleanliness of the place, quality of linen and sumptuous white towels. There was a very small welcome pack (have had more ingredients provided when hiring other places), although we had brought everything we required just in case. Beds were comfortable. The log stove and provision of logs, welcome as it was cold and raining when we arrived. Plenty of hot water and loved the walk in showers. The views from the windows were something to behold, continuously changing and so atmospheric. We were unable to use the outside kitchen area as it was cold and wet but sure it would be useful in the summer months. The hot tub, once it got to temperature was a welcome, relaxing addition after our long walks. If anything it would have been beneficial to have some sort of cover for when it rains, allowing it to be used in all weathers as opposed to the umbrellas we brought. Robes would have been a welcome addition too as it got cold when leaving the hot tub, especially if you're the last one out and closing everything down. All in all we have a lovely time at Drakes Barn and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Watching the sheep being rounded up by the dogs was entertaining!

We have just recently stayed at this cottage and we can’t express enough how great it was! Everything about the stay was perfect and we couldn’t think of one thing we would change!

The place was spotless, it had all the equipment and utensils we needed and the overall design of the cottage was a very homely and cosy environment.

We would recommend anybody to stay here and I’m sure we will make a return too!

The modern barn was in beautiful scenery set overlooking fields of sheep with lots of game birds (Grouse, Partridge and Pheasants) wandering about. Still within easy reach of the main access roads, but far enough away not to be disturbed by the traffic. The lodge itself was top drawer quality. Absolutely pristine clean with all top quality equipment for use, no half measures were taken. The beds were IMO, perfect, lovely spacious living area and open plan cooking and eating island kitchen. The hot tub most certainly the cherry on the cake . Absolute luxury.

Drakes Barn was absolutely beautiful, extremely comfortable in every way and the peaceful location was just what we were after. We would wake each day, put the fabulous electric blinds up and just marvel at the view, it really is picture perfect. The house was warm, immaculately clean and brand new. The hot tub was a very welcome addition on cold starry nights too. The house was cleverly designed to maximise the views and we delighted in them. Everything in the house is high spec and the beds were so comfortable, with high quality linen, and it was a drag to leave them each morning! The property felt secure with electric entry gates and was a dream to return to each day after exploring the local area. We have stayed in many holiday homes and this one was faultless. We really didn't want to leave and would love to return asap. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing holiday.

We spent 2 weeks at this very well finished and high quality property. It is in a fantastic location with great views and lovely walks. If you want a quiet, isolated, high quality stay in a fantastically furnished property, this is the place to stay.

We had such a lovely time celebrating our 26th anniversary. It is in a fantastic location,with beautiful scenery. Loved the hot tub and was able to enjoy the peace. The barn was exceptional and the owners should be very proud. Would definitely go back and cannot wait.

This new build has been done to the highest standard. The quality of the barn is fantastic and the views and location is perfect. You may think when you at the photos on the website, that the views from the bedroom windows are CGI - they aren't! There is lots to explore in the area, and plenty of good quality pubs nearby.

This is a top class retreat, and one that we highly recommend.
