As a group of eight friends we met up at the Barn for a weekend together. Whilst it's only a couple of miles from Settle, it's at the end of a very long lane from the road and it's completely secluded, the perfect location for a 'getaway' break. Make sure you take everything you need with you as it's not somewhere you can just 'nip out' from - it took us 20 minutes in a car from the barn to the junction with the road. Not that you need to go anywhere - the Barn itself is a fabulous place. Converted to exceptional standards with luxurious furnishings and facilities - it literally has everything; and any website photos struggle to do it justice. If you want some exercise there's a whole network of paths in all directions from the doorstep, so again no need to go further afield. The owners met us at the barn on arrival to show us round and again on departure; and also very kindly delivered a takeaway meal for us one night to save us having to collect it in Settle. All round a perfect weekend for us all. Yes, it's at the expensive end of cottage rentals, but considering what you get, worth every penny!
