Clean and tidy cottage, just right for a business trip with very short commute to York. This is also a good option for self catering - well equipped kitchen.

Spacious cottage for a weekend stay. No hassle checking in/out and cottage was nice and warm on arrival.

First time using the accomadation, it was ideal for the area we were looking for near York. Bus stop outside location and in York in 10 minutes. Accomadation and surrounding grounds, stunning very relaxing and spotlessly clean throughout. BBQ and seating area outside each cottage for your own use.

Beautiful property and room. Room was extremely comfortable, clean and updated. Fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Staff is very friendly, quick to respond and accommodating. The only negative is it is not in walking distance to anything. Very busy road with no pedestrian or bike lane. You’ll need to drive or taxi in and out. I was quite happy to stay at Villa Farm in a beautiful setting and cottage versus a stale hotel room!

I’ve stayed here a number of times now, along with my dog, and it never disappoints- from cleanliness’s to quality to comfort. You will have all you need for a lovely break including lovely comfortable beds and beautiful grounds to explore. It’s a great location for exploring York being on the bus route into the centre, as well as the rest of Yorkshire - you can easily get out to say Thirsk or Pocklington as well as the coast. I will certainly be coming back!

I had the pleasure of staying at Dante cottage to attend a special birthday celebration at York Barn.
A beautiful location and cottages, well thought out with everything you could possibly need, clean and inviting, Dante cottage haas provided a lovely stay away.
York Barn itself, and the surrounding grounds are fantastic, absolutely beautiful I could understand why anyone would want to host a wedding or celebration here. The thing that struck me most of all was the genuine warmth. and outstanding hospitality of all the team here - from the initial booking process through to bar staff and housekeeping members.
I highly recommend this venue. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Lovely little cottage. Nicely decorated, neutral. Clean and tidy. Good facilities and items such as tea, coffee provided.
Small bathroom with shower only but not a problem.
It was very hot during our stay but a fan was provided in the bedroom which helped. Lovely doors opening onto terraced area. Lovely green area outside.
Hot tub used by next cottage was a bit noisy in the evening.
Good location, not far from York centre and supermarkets nearby.

Great location, very well equiped & clean.
Downside 3 hen parties in different accomodation across the site. Two nights of little peace. Hot tubs not screened off & very close to other accomodation, sat outside enjoying the view & less than 10ft away 6 girls in & out the hot tub, not something you want to see. Walls between accomodation paper thin, every sound next door heard at 2am when rolled in from 1 of the hen parties. If you book for a quiet break check there are no hen parties booked or go midweek

The check-in was not very good - no personal touch! I understand covid but all restrictions shave been lifted and to have been greeted and shown to my room would have been nice - rather than having to make my own way in the dark with no one to speak to.

Stayed 2 nights while attending a Wedding at Villa Farm. Found the accomodation to be of a good size and very pleasantly presented. Facilities were good only minor complaint would be size of shower cabinet and draught from badly sealed front door. All necessary implements and utensils were provided and in good condition. Due to time of year we were not able to take full advantage of outdoor space and pleasant location. Did not go into York but this is ideally located to do so. Close by a large retail park has numerous shops and restaurants. The wedding we attended went smoothly and all staff performed professionally and in a friendly manner. All in all a very nice place if visiting Yorkshire. I would stay here again. Thanks Villa Farm

Booking and communication was stress free and easy, they keep you updated about everything. Had a message before arrival to welcome us to the villa farm and let us know the heating is on ready for when we arrive. Turned up and it was all cosy inside, which we were super pleased about as it was freezing outside. There is everything you need inside the cottage, it was super clean shiny and new and even the toilets had sealed covers on so you know they had just been cleaned. Nice big soft clean towels and a fab shower I could have stayed in all morning, better than mine at home. Slept really well was surprised not to hear any other guests or road. Only a few minutes away from cinema, supermarket and restaurants which we took advantage of. Total value for money, would and will recommend to others. Will see you again but next time for longer. Thanks for making our night away just brilliant.

This place is lovely, there is everything you'll need here, a big thank you to Corina and Sarah for having the heating on ready for our arrival.

This is our 2nd stay at Dante which says it all really.

The bus will pick you up at the end of the drive and drop you off there. Taxi firms we used were brilliant and really helpful.

In terms of the cottage itself, it had excellent facilities and was in a great location a short taxi ride to York. The booking procedure was faultless and the lady who met me on the day was lovely. No issues there at all.
However, there was a couple staying next to me who played very loud music through our adjoining wall until the early hours of the morning - i rang a couple of numbers from the visitor folder around 1am and left messages (although i realise one of them was the office number) in the hope that somebody would be able to go round and ask them to turn the music down (I didn't feel comfortable doing it myself) but i didn't get a reply, even the next day. In the end, I gave up around 2am and slept on the 2 seater sofa in the lounge - I did this the 2nd night also in anticipation of more noise. I left with a bad back and was very tired from poor sleep.
I think it would be helpful to have a Duty Manager number, if indeed there is someone in charge over night for guests? (the ones in the visitor folder said emergency numbers but i tried one anyway and left a message). I appreciate that people are staying and want to have a good time which is absolutely fine but surely going on until the early hours is taking it too far. I felt helpless as to what to do about it? Even the wedding on site on the Saturday night finished promptly at 12 and there was no noise from them after this. Sorry to complain and I don't think it would stop me staying again - but it's horrible when you have loud music preventing you from sleeping and you feel powerless to do anything about it.
PS the final question below - the party York events bit - we didn't use them but it wouldn't let me submit the form without ticking a box and there isn't a non-applicable option so i just ticked one.

We only received voice message which was not listened to until the Monday morning due to our office being closed over the weekend. We do provide various mobile numbers in the information folder for guests. As we also had a wedding on site on the Saturday there were several members of staff around from 9am to midnight. I can only apologise again for the disturbance caused.

Villa farm is a hidden gem in York. The accommodation is one of the best myself and wife have had the pleasure to stay in.
The people at Villa Farm are very easy to deal and very friendly and make the process of booking and checking in very easy.and are willing to will help if required.
Although a short distance from York the route in is direct and the benefit of the cottages at villa farm is that you can escape to what is Yorkshire countryside and a very quiet location.
I highly recommend Villa Farm and I will return as soon as possible.
