We stayed over 2 nights in 2 cottages (1 and 8) the location was perfect, the grounds were so clean and modern.
The beds were so comfortable, even the bedding was so nice to sleep on.
We were blown away with the amenities provided for our stay, Murton Grange is literally a home from home.
As Maid of Honour, I was worried about venues and making it just right for my sister. This is the best decision I could've made.
Thank you so much Murton Grange for providing us with the best surroundings for our Hen Party.
The hot tub was clean and easy to use.
The information we were given from the staff beforehand really made our weekend, we'd highly recommend Louisiana's cocktail making and Ziggys silent disco! We had so much fun!
I can't say enough about it, we were amazed with the whole weekend!

Well equiped Cottage everything you need, ample equipment, very friendly & helpful nothing was an issue for the Team, only downside were the beds, but that's probably as we were there for a week and not very comfortable, but everything else was great.THANKS FOR GIVING US AMAZING MEMORIES

The property is good value for money and very spacious. Perfect for a big group of family and friends to spend some time together. Also dog friendly with enough open spaces to walk your furry friends. We were a group of 8 adults,4 kids and 2 dogs and had booked 2 cottages next to each other. Both has hot tub and barbecue facilities which would have been perefect in summer.
The friendly groundkeeper lives on site which was very handy- always available for our queries and just general chat.
Couple of things which we felt could have been better are -
1. the dishwasher in one of the cottages was too small to cater to a big group, so we had to move dishes between the 2 cottages. Not ideal but also not a dealbreaker in my opinion.
2. it would have been nice to have some fresh milk in the fridge as the cottages are in the middle of farm/field with no quick access to convenicne stores.
3. single beds were not very comfortable with sping squeaking with every movement.
Overall we had a great time in Murton Grane (this is our 2nd year back) and we would highly recommend it.

This was the perfect location for a reunion of 7 RAF girls who all served in Gibraltar 40 years ago. The hot tub was a great place to relax and chat and the cottage had everything we needed for our weekend. It was easy to get into your York for a trip to the Christmas Market. We would certainly return again.

There was a group of 17 of us on a hen do and Murton Grange was the perfect place for us! We were spread out over Cottages 1, 3 & 8 which worked out great as these were in such close proximity to each other. The kitchen was great - fully equipped with everything we needed. We loved having the large oven for doing a big group breakfast! The joint living room area was a great size - especially so for our silent disco to take place! There was a very informative welcome information book with details of taxi numbers, local shops etc. The journey into York was only a 15 minute taxi and even with 17 of us it was fairly quick and easy to book taxis. We loved having a garden space with hot tub overlooking country fields. The only slight downfall for us was that there was no divide between the gardens with hot tubs therefore the neighbouring party could easily invade our privacy.
We had such a great stay and would recommend to anyone!

Overall a nice place if you aren’t bothered about moving far otherwise you ll need to drive / taxi .. on arrival the hot tub wasn’t ready the man turned up to empty and clean after we arrived . The upstairs shower didn’t work the tap was broken , I contacted the staff who sorted it out the next day . They gave us a key to another cottage to use that until fixed . The extractor fan in downstairs toilet doesn’t work and the French doors are hard to lock You can see daylight through when they are closed The bath mats have seen better days and the upstairs toilet seat is the wrong one for the toilet , these things let it down a bit .Lots of cobwebs , dust above eye level . The towels and bedding was lovely though and the cottage kitchen is stocked with everything you need .. nice place to chill no privacy if you are in the hot tub maybe retractable screens would be beneficial .. we had dogs with us and had to be on alert if the door was open as it’s a communal garden area with nothing to keep them on our bit ..

Great location,cottage was ok hot tubs could do with being more private but was ok , the beds are probably ready for replacing as they was very creeky every time you moved they creeked very loudly the staff on site were very good and did everything we asked of them so that’s a plus think it’s geared up for stag and hen does so can be a bit roudy but all in all enjoyed the time with the family

We booked cottages 8 & 3. Cottage 8 was the largest and plenty spacious & well equipped with everything you needed. The beds weren’t too bad some guests said uncomfortable others said fine. The sofa was faux leather with no cushions so felt a little cold but other than that the cottage is good value for money. The hot tub at this property doesn’t work properly so if you’re booking for this purpose chose one of the others as the maintenance man says it’s always been temperamental. Cottage 3 was not fit for purpose for our group and the customer service team didn’t seem too bothered about our concerns so for that reason only we would not return to Murton Grange

We stayed in two cottages at Murton Grange cottage 8 and cottage 7 which are pretty much identical, we had originally booked the farmhouse, however, due to covid 19 measures and the two house rule we were moved to two separate cottages. The communication with the owners was fantastic beforehand and they were very accomadating in switching our booking. They have put many measures in place to follow covid 19 guidlines and they have introduced contactless check in.
I have stayed at Murton Grange before for a hen do and we took the short taxi ride in to york but on this occasion we were just family and friends looking to get away and spend quality time together. After arriving on Friday afternoon we didn't leave until 10.30 Sunday morning. They are perfectly located for a chilled weekend and the hot tub definitley helps. The cottages and grounds were spotless, comfortable and have everything you need. We will definitley be returning. My only one criticism would be the size of the fridge freezer. These cottages sleep 8 people and considering we took all our own food by the time we had put the food in the fridge and ice in the freezer there was little room left for alcohol.

The cottage was lovely and clean and the hottub was ready to use as soon as we got there. Caitlin recommended the nearest supermarket so i didnt need to travel down with all the food and drink needed for the whole weekend. Less than 3 miles away. Its about 15 mins from york city centre which was ideal also. We will be returning again.

We stayed here for a Hen Doo and it was a lovely cottage and had everything we needed. There were cleaning products and towels provided and would definitely recommend hiring here. The only downside was that at the back where the hot tubs are you are not sectioned off from next door, I’d suggest putting at least one fence panel there so you have abit of privacy.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at murton and I was very satisfied with the stay. From booking to leaving the customer service was great and they responded quickly to any emails.

The property was warm when we arrived, stayed in Nov, and check in was quick and easy. Very clean, tea, coffee etc..

Hottub was lovely and the beds were comfortable

We booked cottages 7 & 8 for my hen weekend. Perfect on arriving, shown our accommodation and unpacked awaiting for rest to arrive. Had few games till 8 ish then decided to go in the hot tubs. The hot tubs were covered and lids only lifted off when we used them m. Cottage 8 hot tub wasn’t warm so contacted corrina who told us to ring the direct number for hot tub maintenance. The hot tub had lost temperature my friend who has a hot tub spoke to the man. The hot tub in cottage 8 wasn’t working so we couldn’t use it. We emailed office to complain about this and received a reply that corrina was away until 2nd October so will pass on the email.
Still no reply so I emailed again, NOTHING!!!
We paid for cottages 7 & 8 with hot tubs and never received fully working hot tubs on the Friday night. Saturday the maintenance man checked our hot tub and we could actually use it.
But really not happy paying for a hot tub and even worse not even replying to my email

We had a great girlie night in the cottage, it was ideal for a get-together. The hot tub was clean and close to the back door. The cottage was spacious with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We did struggle to get the DVD player connected to the TV, but we're prepared with a few card games.

We used the park and ride to get into York, and ordered takeaway so the location was convenient.

The only niggles we had were there were flies in the upstairs bathroom, and we moved the sofas so we could all be together and the floor underneath hadn't been swept for a while.

The cottage was unlocked when we arrived, so we didn't see any staff.

Overall we would recommend the cottage.

We stayed in Cotfages 7&8 for a Hen Party weekend, 8 girls in each cottage. Plenty of space for games & socialising, even if we all wanted to be in the same living area. Outside area great too, was all clean and tidy, catered for everything and on site management with prompt response if we needed anything!

Stayed for the weekend 27-29th Oct 2017 with my hen party we all had a brilliant time in the cottage, had everything we needed for our stay. Couple of little things that would make it perfect hooks on back of the doors for wet towels,steps for the hot tub and a mat for the back door,kettle wasn't the best and a better CD player :))

Booked 3 cottages for a hen weekend, was exactly what we needed and accommodated the 20+ people with ease. Found the communication to be easy and straight forward with the venue as were the bookings for the events we had planned. The cottages were spacious and clean and there were no problems with noise or other guests.

Cottage 8 was a fabulous base for our hen weekend experience! Clean, modern, fresh, light & airy. Lots of space for everyone; comfortably accommodating 8! Location of cottage is relatively close to A Road but it doesn't impinge.
Murton Grange Cottages were extremely well organised, clear in communication & very efficient making the whole experience very pleasant. Recommend the cottages to everyone!

We stayed at Murton Grange for my friends hen do. The cottages were lovely and clean and bright with lots of space in both the living areas and bedrooms. The hot tub made this stay even better! We were able to extend our checkout at no extra cost. The only suggestion I would make is that 2 towels are provided for each guest as we used the towels after the hot tub then they were still wet when we all wanted showers!

Cottage 8 was where the bridal party stayed (including myself as a bridesmaid to be), and I have to say it was perfect! Still close enough to the other cottages but with its own hot tub which sat facing the sun in the afternoon - ideal! Beautifully decorated, very comfortable and spacious. Excellent customer service from the staff, would take the time in answering my questions and granted a late check out at no extra cost - which was required on the Sunday morning!! Would definitely recommend murton grange, and I'm so pleased we chose to stay here.....the hen had an absolute ball which was the most important thing over the weekend. Thank you!!

19 ladies away for hen weekend - 3 cottages (6,7&8) with hot tubs added as extras. We couldn't have asked for better. Taxis easily available from train station to accommodation (approx 15 mins from York centre). Loads of laughs, bubbly and fun had by all! Would definitely return and recommend for large parties.

The cottages are all close together but we never really heard anyone else. Ben was very friendly and helpful and called by in the morning to top up our hot tub. Great location with countryside but close enough for a short ride in a taxi into York. Can't recommend enough, great hen do or party spot!!

Had an absolutely amazing birthday weekend at murton grange, we stayed in cottage 8 it was clean, spacious and had everything you needed.
On arrival Ben showed us around and could not of been more helpful.
I would definitely stay again and also highly recommend these cottages if there is a group of you wanting to stay.
We did not get a hot tub but could see from next door it was a good size. A BBQ was provided for us as well.

Booked this weekend for my friends hen do at Murton Grange and everything was just brilliant from start to finish! The cottages are beautiful! They had everything we required and the location is great too!! A few miles from York but we used a taxi firm to get in and out of town! The beds in cottage 8 were comfier than my own bed at home and I wish we could have stayed here longer than the 2 days we were there! Everyone in the hen group said they would reccomend Murton grange to other people, thank you for such a great weekend!

I booked Cottage 5 originally for extra accomodation for my Hen weekend. We planned to use the Farmhouse as the hub for the weekend and needed extra sleeping facilities as it only had beds for 14 people.
The booking was upgraded a week before arrival to Cottage 8.
The cottage is pristine with a lovely open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. It was warm and comfortable.
The 6 girls who stayed in the cottage were over the moon with the facilities and took advantage of there seperate facitilies when things got a little rowdy in the Farmhouse.
Overall a gorgeous little cottage which is a wonderful addition to the other cottages and farmhouse already there.

Loved the cottages more than I could have hoped for. Excellent location, there were a lot of other groups there, we were told to make as much noise as we want however wAsnt disturbed by anyone else. Currently planning my next visit.

Couldn't fault the place at all, perfect for a hen party, the staff were lovely when booking then a warm welcome when we got there and said we could make as much noise as we wanted, the cottages were done to a high standard and everyone commented how comfortable the beds were!! Thanks again for such an echo table stay..we will be returning next year for a girls weekend!!

We had a fantastic stay in a great cottage which was perfect for a hen weekend. Clean, great facilities and lovely to have breakfast outside.
