Fisherman’s Cottage dates from 18th Century and it has been sensitively restored to create a comfortable, cosy self-catering cottage. Sleeping up to four people with a double bedroom, walk-in shower, fully equipped kitchen and a lovely wood-burning stove in the living area with a double sofa-bed, the Cottage provides a great home away from home. The private garden overlooking the bay is also great for surveying the daily bustle of Havre des Pas, framed by Victorian architecture and promenade.

The only problem I could find!

Couldn’t find the instructions for the oven and it was too complicated to work out,no glass container to fit the microwave and so I had to cook our meal in a saucepan on top of the stove.

I only mention this problem because everything else was so perfect and exactly what we wanted.

Lovely cottage was lovely and clean and in great location, just a 15-20 minute walk into St Helier town centre or a short 5-10 minute walk in the other direction to a few nice restaurants and bars. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need for a self-catering holiday and has a nice outside seating area with great views over the bay. The cottage is not huge but it was perfect for us as a couple. That said, it might be a little cosy for a group of four and it is worth noting that the only bathroom is accessed via the bedroom.

If I have one minor quibble it is that the instructions for reaching the cottage are a bit confusing, it took us a few times round to find it! For those arriving by car, it might be more helpful to give the postcode for the reserved parking area (and instructions on how to find the reserved parking spot) rather than the cottage itself, with further instructions on how to reach the cottage by foot from the parking spot as you cannot stop the car outside the cottage to check you have the right location. ….that said we found it eventually!

Some instructions on how to work the oven would be helpful too!

We stayed at the cottage for one night. The cottage is in a brilliant location, and really easy to get to from St Helier. It is really well furnished, and well equipped. tea, coffee, as well as soap, and washing up supplies. There is plenty of crockery and utensils available. The cottage was beautiful, and I love how it has been meticulously refurbished using reclaimed materials. Beds were comfy. Shower was really powerful.

The location, next to the beach is just brilliant. We walked down the steps straight onto the beach. (We recommend the Good Egg Cafe too!!)

Would thoroughly recommend this cottage, however it is small and we would have struggled for more than 1 night with 2 adults and 2 children. For a couple, it would be perfect.

We stayed for 4 nights when we were working on the sites of Elizabeth and Mont Orgueil Castles.
The free parking was ideal.
The location and views were stunning and watching the tides come and go was just what we needed after a days work.
The short walks to St Helier for drinks and meals were no problem.
Would highly recommend this Cottage.

We booked Fisherman's Cottage for our first family holiday as a family of three, with our 10 month old daughter, and we had an absolute ball.

It was such a lovely space to see the tide coming in and out each day, to watch the world go by, and to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

It was really appreciated that we were given use of a travel cot and highchair free of charge - this certainly helped out as lot in terms of takingess baggage on the flight!

We did find that the living room was much lighter with the door open, but luckily we had nice enough weather that it wasn't an issue for us to do this most of the time we were there.

It was really convenient to travel to St Helier from the property, and there were multiple routes into town too (so we weren't bored travelling the same routes each day). We were also able to get groceries and takeaways delivered fairly easily too, even though the property was on a slightly inconvenient location for cars.

Fabulous cottage , stunning views , access from car park quite a way and not accessible in wheelchair as described to us . Long path up steep slope with camber !
Walk with bags to cottage was across a park and several stairs , thankfully it was dry as you have to cross lawned area .
Apart from that we loved it .

We had three days at Fisherman’s Cottage. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed.
It was a bit tricky to find but once over that hurdle everything was great. The outside was also really well kept but unfortunately the weather didn’t allow us to use it as much as we would have liked. It was very peaceful at night and limited traffic noise in the day. A really well kept and clever design. Perfect for two and our dogs!

The garden and location is amazing. The heritage and preservation of the interior. Out of city feeling, while your right around the corner. Ideal for summer, right next to the beach. The view is just stunning! However, not really suitable for people over 1.85 meter. You will hit your head constantly. Also the master bed is quite small. there is only one small window so you need to have your front door open at all times to let some daylight in. If your not bordered by these things, or stay over summer (mainly in the garden) you will have a lovely time.

We are a family of four and the stay was feb/ march time. First impressions: Reasonable price in low season. However my partner and I agreed we would not pay the high season price as for that kind of fee, we would want a second bedroom.

The cottage looks as though it has been lovingly restored with some very nice interior design touches. The bedroom and en-suite are the star of this property. The kids slept on the fold out couch in the livingroom and it was a litle cramped but by no means unmanagable for a weekend.

It's an odd location as we described it as ugly/ beautiful as it is situated in a small park area with amazing views if you close your right eye. However the concrete brutalist tower to the front of the property lets the area down.

We had a comfortable first nights sleep, but on the second night (saturday) we were woken up by a group of youths who were shouting and playing music in the park (literally 20 feet from the bedroom window). This resulted in an anti-social altercation when I tried to get them to be quiet or move on. (They did eventually scarper). After the whole family was left unsettled and struggling to sleep, we were woken up again at 6.30am on sunday morning by a refuge collector in the garden of the property banging the wheelie bins. (Very unimpressed).
I contacted jersey heritage to let them know about both disturbances and it seems we were unlucky as they admitted there had been only one previous incident with noise from the park. They said the refuge collector should not have been there on a sunday and that they would go away to investigate.

I think given that we had such an awful second night the trust could have been a little more pro-active in terms of some sort of repairation for us. Despite it being out of their control, they still had the power to soften what was a very bad experience for our family. I'm not sure we would use another heritage let given the stress of our second night and the underwhelming customer service response we received afterwards.

We stayed at the cottage for a couple of nights, which was exactly what we were looking for - romantic, quite and scenic spot with all the essentials at hand.It had board games provided, which was useful on rainy days. We had plenty of wood for the wood burner, which made it super cosy in the evenings. All the cleaning products and towels were included, which was very convenient. .

Great location.
Comfortable, well maintained property.
Was warm and cosy for a February stay. We used the log burner on the first evening. It would have been good to have enough logs provided for the second night.
We loved being able to see the roof from the glass panels in the ceiling!

Property info needs updating - it said bring DVDs, but there is no DVD player. We enjoyed the access to Netflix though.
Oven is complicated and difficult to use. We couldn't get it to work even after looking at the instructions.

We had a lovely stay at Fisherman’s cottage. The location is gorgeous with stunning views over the bay and direct access to a public park where our children loved to play after a day of exploring the island.
The cottage itself is very clean and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the selection of board games and books.
We definitely recommend this place for a short or a longer stay.

Beautiful historic cottage with everything you need for up to four people to have a great weekend or longer stay. As a couple we could have just moved in and stayed!
The cottage is furnished comfortably and cosily with everything provided for four. The kitchen has excellent cooking facilities, the bed was good quality and the shower room bang up to date with a rainfall shower - there is no bath in case you were wondering. There is a sofa bed in the main living/dining/kitchen area which we did not try out but looked fine and there were duvet and pillows in the bedroom closet.
Other facilities included a vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board as well as microwave and toaster for easygoing eating.
We were lucky to have a fabulous spring weekend in March and made the most of the perfect sized garden with table and chairs eating and looking out over the sea and coastal scenery.
Fabulous.

We had a lovely 7 day stay in Fisherman's Cottage. The cottage is quaint, cosy and welcoming and has everything you need for a week away. The views are delightful and the location right by the sea was great. The milk, bread and butter left for us were a lovely touch. We enjoyed the board games provided too. The only reason I gave a 4 for comfort was that the sofa cushions kept sinking down but the bed was really comfy. The log burner made the dark evenings warm and cosy. Highly recommended cottage.

The cottage is very thoughtfully renovated and we had a very pleasant stay. I especially enjoyed the sea views to the right of the property, and having your own space outside. The bathroom was excellent. It's a bit small/low for tall people, and I think really best for a single person or a couple - it is essentially two rooms so difficult to see how four could stay and have a relaxing time. It was very well heated for having such thick walls - I am a very cold person but didn't get too chilly at all staying in the winter. The traffic noises start along the road to the rear to the property quite early, which is not the fault of the property but something to expect, and sometimes the nearby field squadron conduct exercises at night which are a stark contrast to the sound of the sea lapping at the shore (but short-lived). The kitchen was thoughtfully equipped and had all we needed to cook at home. No dishwasher or washing machine which I think you need for a relaxing longer stay but it was fine for a short one. We had one issue with a tap leaking but it was remedied very quickly and pleasantly. A good spot for bird/shore watching and sitting out of an evening.

Pleasant, cosy stay in nice area but needs a revamp of equipment/furniture.
Furniture could do with renewing: sofa bed (as a sofa) overused so cushions sink down, very uncomfortable, dining table and chairs could do with updating as they are quite unsturdy. Hot water tap in kitchen needs looking at as too powerful to use without getting yourself wet. It would be nice to have a welcome pack regardless of being local or not. Some of the glasses were missing.

Stayed here for 2 nights for business. Perfect base for focused work, with access direct onto the beach to take short breaks, and evocative sound of the waves below during the night. Very much appreciated the milk, bread and butter provided, also tea and coffee since I was not able to get to shops due to work.
Tip: I was able to get a takeaway delivered by giving the address of the Jersey Air Squadron and then meeting them in the car park.

Overall, we had a lovely stay at the Fishermans Cottage, it was brilliant for us with other family close by in Havre De Pas. But it is easy walking distance to the town and the beach nearby. The Good Egg is literally next door and offers great breakfast options. Our two issues were: 1) there is a bandstand very close that on many nights attracts people who drink late into the night, this made our children feel uncomfortable and 2) there was no washing facilities and for a property charging over £200 a night I think this would be a welcome addition. I would recommend the property, but think it is top end price wise.

The cottage itself is excellent and has been well and tastefully converted into holiday accommodation, but we have one or two reservations about it. It’s suitable for 2 but it would be inconvenient for 4 unless they knew one another very well because the bathroom is off the bedroom, and there are only 3 dining room chairs. It is in a delightful but inconvenient spot overlooking the bay, but it’s not as claimed 10 minutes walk from the centre of St Helier, more like 20-25 for somebody quite fit, and the majority of local shopping and eating-out is a fair distance. The cottage stands at the top of a small and steep hill (Mount Bingham) and is unsuitable for the elderly or infirm. You really need a car to stay there, although we managed to get around on the excellent bus network. The only major glitches we encountered were that the keys were held in a box by the front gate, and we were unable to open it to get into the cottage. The other problem we had was with the cooker which had faulty electronics which meant we could not switch it on or use it. Not the sort of hassles you want on holiday. But two members of staff with Jersey Heritage (which administers the cottage) were very generous with their time and helped us out with these two glitches, although early on we had a problem with getting hold of anyone by telephone. You can’t run a business remotely unless your lines of communication by phone are excellent. An answerphone won’t do. However, all told and despite these problems (which are soluble) this is a very good place to stay - but a car would make a very big difference.

We loved our time at Fisherman’s Cottage with our 19 year old twins. It was the perfect place for family connection with the fab Good Egg cafe next door for slap up breakfasts and a short walk into town - then those views! The cottage was excellently equipped and we cooked up a storm with the fish from The Fresh Fish. Thank you for a great stay.

Nice, clean, well-equipped hut, a bit off the beaten track. Its only drawback is a long way to the center and the need to climb up each time when returning. Perfectly equipped, also with a fireplace, which we made use of. In terms of price / quality ratio, it's Jersey Heritage most interesting offer, although we haven't tested them all :).

A short stay in paradise

Stayed for a week at Fisherman's Cottage. Wonderful location - stunning views and handy for walking into St Helier and buses around the island. Had everything we needed.
