Myself, my husband, our 7 year old son and my mum stayed on Elizabeth Castle in September. It was the most fabulous experience. The first night due to the winds we had to be back by 3pm and the Castle was closed from then to the public, we had the whole place to ourselves. The next day we got to explore the beach off the Sully Port. The accomodation was beautiful and very comfortable. All the staff working at the Castle were amazing. Nigel was on hand if we needed anything and he was fantastic. My son was spun out by the tides and we loved watching the water come up and surround the Castle...more
The Cider Barn cottage/apartment was perfect for our family of 5. The king, double and bunk rooms were all spacious and the beds were comfortable. The whole apartment seemed to be very clean. The lounge / kitchen was also very spacious with plenty of seating and two large comfy sofas. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need. The staff were very friendly and engaging. On the site, as well as the museum, there was a lovely cafe (perfect for the morning coffee) and a great play area for the kids. The kids had great fun feeding the chickens every morning and seeing the other a...more
4th visit. Always amazing. Cosy, clean and everything you need for a perfect special weekend. Will book again.
Far better than we thought it would be inside. Middle of winter but warm and cozy. The stairs are very steep and narrow and you will use them a lot! Great having cafe next door and Gorey within easy walking distance and on bus route. This was a staycation and we would definitely go again. Three nights was ideal but it is expensive for two people We preferred this to the barge last year
Beautiful views in a peaceful and relaxing bay. Well equipped kitchen. Great outside space but lots of stairs.
A superb venue for a getaway adventure. The scenery was phenomenal. The guide was helpful and informative and a comfort to have around. We had a ball and would thoroughly recommend. Minor items are the kitchen facilities are adequate but could benefit from an upgrade, as could the bedside lights, some of which were not working.
Pleasant, cosy stay in nice area but needs a revamp of equipment/furniture. Furniture could do with renewing: sofa bed (as a sofa) overused so cushions sink down, very uncomfortable, dining table and chairs could do with updating as they are quite unsturdy. Hot water tap in kitchen needs looking at as too powerful to use without getting yourself wet. It would be nice to have a welcome pack regardless of being local or not. Some of the glasses were missing.
We celebrated my mothers 50th birthday at Le Crete and had a fantastic time. It was very cosy and peaceful. The fort was clean and tidy and we all enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would say is that the sofa bed in the living room is very uncomfortable so perhaps not suitable for 2 adults.
We booked the site for our staff get together and had an enjoyable evening. A very special place, with a view of the sea and the sun going down. Everything was well prepared and the fire worked well to keep us all warm!
Fantastic 24 hours at Rocco! Peter, the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and really looked after us. Marina was super helpful when we were booking. Views from the top of the tower are amazing and the boys loved the whole experience. Good fishing too!
LOVED OUR LITTLE WINTER GETAWAY IN THE BUNKER. THE FLOOR HEATING WAS VERY WELCOME CONSIDERING IT WAS SO COLD AND STORMY. AMAZING VIEWS FROM TOP FLOOR. BEDROOMS CLEAN AND BATHROOMS SPOTLESS.
We all loved staying here as a family. The farm park was great to have on the doorstep. The staff were all lovely!
We had a fun couple of nights at The Barge during a beautiful weekend in November. The accommodation is completely unique and although it was in one of the cooler months, we were warm inside with lots of hot running water. We would have preferred more comfortable mattresses however and were pleased to return to our own beds after a couple of nights. Fantastic location though right on the beach with magical sunsets.
I hired for my weekend of leaving dos and what a perfect location for it. The facilities themselves are basic and Heritage warn you of this. Just an added warning that you also share with some local wildlife! Food hygiene is a must - make sure you have boxes you can seal items like bread in. I was blown away by the surprise room in the tower. Perfect for when it gets a bit chilly or wet outside. In all, I'm leaving with the best memories from a perfect weekend stay at Lewis' Tower.
