We had a fantastic stay and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The location was wonderful and we enjoyed the dramatic weather. Chris was very helpful and efficient. He was also very knowledgeable about the castle. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed watching a few episodes of Bergerac. The place was clean and tidy however there was a leak from the storm which hadn’t been fixed. Recommendations A plug/sink strainer for the kitchen sink Oil/ welcome hamper Toiletries for the bathroom. Bigger bed…. ESP for people who are over 6ft……. What a lovely place to stay. Full of character and history. It was so nice to see the animals and orchard too . The living space is comfortable and spacious. Perfect for a group or a family.
Very glad to see you’ve replaced the chairs downstairs. They needed it! Not sure about the yellow colour though! Upstairs sofas are fab but you need another one when the tower is full to capacity. Please provide firefighters or paper to start the fire and more wood! It’s a shame the ventilation in the kitchen is lacking as condensation is causing paint to peel off from above the hob and drop down. Kitchen knives also need sharpening. Absolutely minor issues. It’s a fabulous, unique place to stay and I will definitely be back.
Despite the stormy weather in 2nd April we all enjoyed our stay at Archirondel Tower. It was so well equipped and very comfortable. The views from the top of the tower the following morning were wonderful. A great adventure, would highly recommend staying there.
Wow, what a stay in such a unique building in such a wonderful location. We stayed at Fort Leicester as the WW2 Radio Tower was still undergoing repairs following the storm in November and despite some disappointment at not being able to stop where we had booked to go, we were not disappointed. We were very fortunate that the sun shone most of our 4 day stay so we were able to sit outside for meals and take in the breathtaking views. The garden and location is amazing. The heritage and preservation of the interior. Out of city feeling, while your right around the corner. Ideal for summer, right next to the beach. The view is just stunning! However, not really suitable for people over 1.85 meter. You will hit your head constantly. Also the master bed is quite small. there is only one small window so you need to have your front door open at all times to let some daylight in. If your not bordered by these things, or stay over summer (mainly in the garden) you will have a lovely time.
We loved our little weekend stay here. Loves hearing the wind and rain on the windows and having the sea view. Very well equipped, everything we needed. Really cosy, comfy beds. (We didn't use the sofa bed) Shame that the main bedroom heater didn't work, luckily the covers were nice and thick so slept well. Both bedroom heaters were on automatic timers that we couldn't change..was a shame for the smaller room as kids went to bed earlier so room was cold as heaters hadn't come on yet are and the hall way for bathroom and toilet was pretty cold. We had a 3 nights stay at the Radio Tower and had an amazing time. We had seen the radio tower on a previous trip and promised ourselves we would come back and stay in the tower, it didn't disappoint, we also meet some of the jersey heritage team and they was very friendly and helpful. Hopefully we will be back again in the future.
Really lucky with the weather and the wood stove kept us warm at night. Always great to stay here and watch the tide rise until we are on a tiny island. Basic comforts but a unique stay.
We enjoyed our stay at stable apartment. It’s a great location, fantastic for children - a great entry level for animal contact and farm life. The staff were very friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. Mattresses are a little soft which can be uncomfortable if you prefer a firm bed.
We had an amazing family trip in the unique location of La Rocco tower - waking up completely surrounded by water with some stunning sunset and sunrise views. We enjoyed swimming at low tide and fishing off the rocks. We were lucky enough to have a fantastic guide Peter, who kept us safe and was very well informed. Favourite heritage site so far!
Had a staycation here with a pal and our kids. So much fun, great location. We had all we needed and more with this place. We can’t wait to try another heritage let out for our next staycation
Another inspirational weekend at Le Tacqueral Fort. 14 people braved the elements for our 5th installment of 'Journey into the Wild'. It is a beautiful location with just the right balance of leisure and 'roughing it' as we connected to nature. The sessions worked really well, and eating and swimming together were a joy. The weather meant that we could actually sleep outside in the fresh air which added to the whole experience.
I hired for my weekend of leaving dos and what a perfect location for it. The facilities themselves are basic and Heritage warn you of this. Just an added warning that you also share with some local wildlife! Food hygiene is a must - make sure you have boxes you can seal items like bread in. I was blown away by the surprise room in the tower. Perfect for when it gets a bit chilly or wet outside. In all, I'm leaving with the best memories from a perfect weekend stay at Lewis' Tower.
