I celebrated my birthday at the castle with friends, and it was definitely one to remember. Having the entire castle to ourselves made it feel like something out of a fairytale! Exploring the grounds at night with a hint of spookiness was definitely a highlight. Although we were unlucky with the weather and ended up stranded because the duck boats weren’t running, it didn’t bother us at all. We had the grounds all to ourselves, enjoyed a private beach for swimming, and had plenty of board games we’d brought along to keep us entertained. The stay was incredibly cosy, and Chris, the groun...more
We our wedding at Hamptonne and decided to have a staycation a week after the wedding. All the Staff at Jersey Heritage were so helpful and extremely friendly and could not do enough for us during our stay. Highly recommend a stay cation and we shall certainly look to book gain in the future
We had a super couple of days celebrating an early 21st birthday. The property is stunning and the perfect escape. We had a bbq on the roof terrace, swam at sunset and had a super time. It’s in the perfect location. We chilled out with friends and family. Very well equipped and comfortable.
We had a lovely week in the tower. Lovely accommodation on a lovely beach. Can't recommend it enough
Very different place to explore and stay. Lots of fun for all ages with stunning views. Plenty of outdoor places to sit and enjoy the views and nature.
We stayed at the cottage for one night. The cottage is in a brilliant location, and really easy to get to from St Helier. It is really well furnished, and well equipped. tea, coffee, as well as soap, and washing up supplies. There is plenty of crockery and utensils available. The cottage was beautiful, and I love how it has been meticulously refurbished using reclaimed materials. Beds were comfy. Shower was really powerful. The location, next to the beach is just brilliant. We walked down the steps straight onto the beach. (We recommend the Good Egg Cafe too!!) Would thoroughly recomme...more
Our family had a wonderful few days at La Crete. It's an exceptional place to stay... the kids couldn't believe we were actually staying in a 'castle'! The setting is incredible, and we enjoyed several sunsets from the terrace. It's a quirky layout (worth being aware that the bathroom is only accessible via the bedrooms, and that the second bedroom doesn't have a window) but has been converted thoughtfully and stylishly. Don't miss out on the roped pathway down to the beach!
Great stay at the radio tower as ever, view is simply amazing. Great location for beaches and Waitrose!
Another great stay at La Rocco tower. We were lucky with the weather. Sunset views from the top of the tower were stunning and clear skies for start gazing in the evening. Seeing quite a few shooting stars. Kayaking there and back was kept interesting with a little swell and a few waves on the beach. A top mini adventure.
We loved the chickens! the sofa it was very conformable, the beds were exquisite but the top bunk kept on creaking and one child woke up at 5 o'clock. Kids loved the TV and the bathroom was really clean, and the look of the apartment was really historic so as I was saying it was a very lovely place to stay for the week so thank you !
We have just had a wonderful week at Barge Aground - we had a sunny week and loved soaking up the sunsets and swimming on the beach in front of the property. It is great location for enjoying the fabulous beaches of the West coast of Jersey. It was our 7th time visiting the property and we were very impressed with the new furniture and TV - although the majority of our time was spent on the terrace enjoying the view and the new outside seating. We will definitely be back!
We stayed for one night in mid August 2024, with 10 and 12 year old boys. Communication with Jersey Heritage and briefs were excellent, as was our guide Piers. It is made clear what to bring and what to expect. Try not to overpack as you have to carry there and back again (around 1 nautical mile). Suggest everyone bring shoes to get wet and use on beach, and shoes for the tower to stay (relatively) sand free. The Tower is actually very well equipped; the bunks and toilet are fine (visitors will need good mobility and fitness level). Highlights included walks and playing football on the sandban...more
Fantastic support from Jersey Heritage. Gorgeous location. Only issue is the main room leaks terribly when it rains and is uninhabitable.
I've been looking for a Martello tower to stay in for a while so was excited to be able to book Lewis tower for two nights. The price is very reasonable for a bona-fide castle and the location is wonderful with the beach, crashing waves, surfers, sunsets and WWII history right on your doorstep. Facilities are very basic - a fridge, a BBQ, a kettle and basic beds. There are electrical plugs. We struggled to work out exactly what was there before arriving as different sources quoted different things. We had identified that the toilet is is the carpark - this is fine, but it would be useful ...more
