Spread over three levels, this magnificent 19th century fort sits above the picturesque harbour of Bouley Bay and has a private garden and terrace.
Sleeping 8 guests, the guardhouse has been converted to the main bedroom with one double, two single beds and a wood burning stove. The lower level has been transformed into a cosy bunk room and a bathroom. The searchlight housing constructed by Occupying German forces during the Second World War, now houses a fitted kitchen with a lounge and diner.

A fantastic place to stay. Only negatives I can mention was that the oven was very temperamental and the facility could do with another loo when 8 people are staying

Our stay to celebrate my daughters 40th brthday was excellent. We have stayed in most of the Heritage Forts and this stay was just as exciting and fun as all the others.
Only downside was not being aware of the road closures for the car rally around Bouley Bay on booking the Fort. This affected the visitors arriving to the island later as they could not get through the barriers untill 10.30pm. Although many marshals were unhelpful, one marshal wa understanding and sorted the problem out. The staff member from Heritiage rang to check all was ok.

We had a fabulous weekend at the fort and couldn’t have asked for more. The fort exceeded our expectations and provided an experience we will never forget. Idyllic location set back from passers by which makes it a perfect relaxing retreat.
The facilities were excellent and catered for all our needs.
I would highly recommend this Fort .

Glorious, unique, clean, interesting and delightful historic property that is a privilege, and a treat, to occupy. Quirky in its 4 rooms with individual external access, but beautifully designed and presented, an utter treat to rent, I’ll be back!!! Thank you, even the extra bin bags are folded!! Amazing!!

Lovely stay for the secound time.
Much to short. Two days nice weather and two days rain.
But what's better as waking up very early morning (6 o'clock) go outside
and take a deep breath.

If you want a beautiful place to stay without the hustle and bustle then this is perfect. Beautiful at both sunrise and sunset. Whilst it may seem basic everything else makes this a perfect location for a stay.

Wow, what a stay in such a unique building in such a wonderful location. We stayed at Fort Leicester as the WW2 Radio Tower was still undergoing repairs following the storm in November and despite some disappointment at not being able to stop where we had booked to go, we were not disappointed.

We were very fortunate that the sun shone most of our 4 day stay so we were able to sit outside for meals and take in the breathtaking views. I’m not so sure it would have been as nice had we had to go outside to the upper level for the bathroom had it been raining.

Everything was very clean but it is time to invest in comfy furniture with washable covers maybe.

We were a family of adults and would have loved to have stayed here when our children were younger. We will definitely be looking at other Jersey Heritage unique properties for further holidays.

Everything was provided for a great family stay in a unique heritage site.It was stunning and access to the beach even though it was raining provided hours of shell hunting.
The full moon over the bay was just beautiful.
The property was warm and cosy and we had a great family weekend.

The arrival was simple with the drop box and we found the kitchen to be very nicely equipped with everything we needed for our stay.

The layout plan on the site isn't very clear that you will need to go outside and over muddy/grassy areas to transition between the levels meaning, in bad weather, you have to put your shoes and coat on to go to the bathroom and that due to the types of locks used you need a key with you to get into each section.

Once we had settled in though and got used to the layout we very much enjoyed the kitchen area which has a nice feel to it and got the fire going in the 3rd level bedroom which made a nice cosy retreat so long as you don't mind sharing the space with many many bugs and spiders.

You can have a sea swim before dinner
The place is furnished with pretty much what you need for your stay

What a stunning location and atmospheric building. We sat outside the first morning watching a pod of dolphins just beyond the bay. Beautiful walks and swimming in your doorstep.

I hired this for my for the weekend. It was the second time I have been to this particular heritage sight. I have only one complaint for this and that was the cleanliness. When we arrived there was food all over the floor and dishes in the sink. Also there were lots of cobwebs on the ceiling and behind the bed particularly which has lots of bugs. Other than that amazing property homely. And also there were a few kitchen items which were helpful and the kitchen comes fully equipped .

Loved this property. The views are incredible and we loved eating Al fresco on the balcony. There are a LOT of steep steps up and down to the three levels so bear that inind!

We have stayed at Fort Leicester many times and have wonderful memories made over decades. Recently there have been a number of improvements, particularly with the kitchen and bedrooms. It would be nice if the outside table/bench in the ‘courtyard’ could be upgraded. We love the place and look forward to returning in the future.

Our family of 5 spent a wonderful week at the Fort. It exceeded all of our expectations. We loved the history of the place and how carefully it had been renovated. The private secluded location couldn’t be beat.

Booked the venue for a works event with guests from UK, what a fantastic experience. Living areas were clean and will stocked. waking up to the sunrise was a treat. It is the second time I have rented this location and it will not be my last.
I think a permanent BBQ and fire pit would be an ideal additive.

Well equipped accommodation in a peaceful, sheltered spot great for walking, swimming, watching wildlife and beach combing. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathroom is spacious. We had a rainy and windy day but hunkered down in the lounge/kitchen which was big enough for the six of us and we made use of the games and dvds provided. The lounge doors open fully to the patio area which extends the area and provides beautiful views across the bay. We had a bad leak in from a bathroom tap but it was dealt with quickly and communication from Jersey Heritage was good.

Absolutely loved our mid-week winter stay for 4 mums and 4 daughters. It’s the perfect venue for a get together. The location is superb, the interior quirky and stylish and it’s so well equipped. Hope to return for a summer stay to really make the most of the outside areas.

We had a brilliant stay at the Fort, the only thing bringing the comfort down was the temperature in the main living space but being one of the coldest nights of the year it was expected so we brought hot water bottles. Absolutely amazing location and stay. We will be coming again, Thank you.

I rented Fort Leicester for a week and was blessed with amazing weather. What a location! Private, but with amazing views and loads of space to enjoy as a couple or with friends and family, not to mention the dog! A perfect mix of rustic charm and modern facilities. I felt utterly at home and was reluctant to leave!

A totally relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting and accommodation, with all amenities provided, it made the stay so much simpler .

To have the sea on our doorstep , lots of swims ,pier jumping and snorkeling.

Hank the dog also felt safe and loved his surroundings and the beautiful cliff path walks .

Absolutely fantastic location and well equipped. However past guest had left the fort in such a state the clean team
Hadn’t managed to empty bins, broken furniture and lounge kitchen are absolutely stank of fire and general dirt had to leave all doors and windows open to try and
air it. Also no hoover or broom on site (has been in past)

A fantastic location and stunning accommodation. The beds were comfy, living room light and airy and a fantastic deck to watch the world go by.

Only negative was we booked for 8 people to sleep and had to make the sofa bed up ourselves. Would have expected enough beds made up for the amount of people sleeping.

Other than that a fantastic weekend and we loved staying there. A weekend to remember.

Such a beautiful and relaxing place! The sound of the waves and watching the fishermen.
The view over Bouley Bay is soo beautiful which makes the choice hard to return to your book.
After a day we took on the challenge with the stairs and actually thought it was a very good exercise.
Fort Leicester is very well equipped with really everything you need.
We hope to come again for a longer stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fort Leicester, It has gorgeous views from each window and great places to shelter depending which way the wind is blowing.

I, along with some girlfriends have just spent the weekend at Fort Leceister in Bouley Bay. From start to finish it was a magical experience. We were surprised at how well decorated and furnished the acommodation was and were expecting it to be more like a camping trip. The location was perfect in that it was very quiet and secluded but had stunning views. We were also blessed wirh beautiful weather which mafe all the difference. We will definitely be returning. The only negative is that the sleeping arrangements are perfect for families or groups of friends but not so if several couples want to stay, which is a shame as it would be an ideal retreat for several couples as well.

Very nice place for a weekend away. The place is very nice but a few of the cups and boards were not very clean, so ended up washing everything. Very comfortable beds and lovely warm rooms. Would definitely book again, but maybe in the summer as it was a bit wild down there.
