Sleeping up to 12 guests in an open plan living space, this property is a jewel within the bay of St. Ouen. This historic Martello Tower has been restored with all modern conveniences, it has a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge area with flat screen TV with Freesat, spacious dining area and a fantastic roof terrace with 360 degree views across the whole of the bay and beyond.

Amazing location and venue to stay in. Very warm and comfortable, with everything you need. Easy to access and parking across the road. Perhaps could also open up the barrier to enable visitors to park their car closer for unloading. Otherwise a lovely family experience.

We had a super couple of days celebrating an early 21st birthday. The property is stunning and the perfect escape. We had a bbq on the roof terrace, swam at sunset and had a super time. It’s in the perfect location. We chilled out with friends and family. Very well equipped and comfortable.

Suggestions:
- Hooks on the back of the shower doors
- Benches/seating by the ground floor side door (a good sheltered area to sit out of the prevailing winds)
- Install an extractor fan over the oven/hob
- Provide instructions on how to operate the gas cooker
- More loo rolls and tea bags (we ran out during our stay)
Maintenance/breakage:
- A red wine glass had a crack in it (noticed when we arrived) and also we broke a glass tumbler
- Middle light on NW staircase to the roof terrace not working
- Information board on the roof terrace damaged by water ingress
- Window clasp (to restrict window opening) on the SW side of the lounge/bedroom area broken and window fully swung open

PS Fantastic venue and staycation was brilliant despite the weather. We loved the new benches/tables on the roof terrace.

We had an amazing weekend staying at Kempt Tower.

On arrival, we were so happy with what we saw. From a really cosy seating area to great kitchen and dining facilities and amazing access to a beautiful view.

Everything was immaculate and we couldn’t have wanted more.

We had a family girly weekend staycation. We had a great stay. The beds were comfortable however a few were squeaky. As it’s a communal space most people wore ear plugs and slept well. There is everything you need available.
Watching the beautiful sunset on the roof terrace was stunning. A great place to stay! We would definitely like to return. The Tower has been done out to a lovely standard and a pretty luxurious stay.

Very glad to see you’ve replaced the chairs downstairs. They needed it! Not sure about the yellow colour though!
Upstairs sofas are fab but you need another one when the tower is full to capacity.
Please provide firefighters or paper to start the fire and more wood!
It’s a shame the ventilation in the kitchen is lacking as condensation is causing paint to peel off from above the hob and drop down. Kitchen knives also need sharpening.
Absolutely minor issues. It’s a fabulous, unique place to stay and I will definitely be back.

We had a lovely stay at the tower 6 adults and 6 children.Walks on the beach.Finding crabs and dodging the waves at high tide were the highlights.Short walk to the Watersplash for dinner.Unfortunately the weather was very windy so couldn’t use the outside space as much as we would have liked.Would recommend a stay at the tower we all had a great few days.

Clean, tidy, warm and comfortable. A fabulous winter weekend retreat. The generous quality towels a most welcome touch.
Truly wonderful.
As with any historic building, maintenance must be an ongoing issue but apart from the door to the roof being difficult, all was in excellent order. But the rather old squeaky beds have sadly seen better days, causing a disturbed night's sleep.

Wonderful spot to hunker down in February, easy beach and nature reserve walks and then straight back to the log fire for movies. This location was brilliant for me and our group of friends to celebrate a special birthday in style.

Kerouac Adventures hosts adventure retreats focused on mental health. Kempt Tower provided us with an amazing space to run a board games night, film night and a series of art therapy sessions led by a trained psychotherapist and retreat leader. The location also aloud for reflective walks up to Grontez Dolmen, cold water swimming, star gazing and power kiting on the beach. The lounge, kitchen and shower room facilities perfectly catered for a winter retreat. Thank you for a great all round venue!

A really lovely stay at Kempt Tower over New Years. The facilities at the Tower encompass all the essentials you need for a few nights, and make it a really comfortable and enjoyable stay. The help in booking from Laura and Marina was fantastic, and the whole Heritage team are lovely. If you are looking for a stay in rural areas of the Island that offer a more flexible and enjoyable experience to your normal hotel, I wouldn't hesitate to book one of the Heritage properties. Thanks for a lovely time and Happy New Year!

We stayed at kemp tower just before Christmas, so out side the wind howled and the sea crashed but inside the tower was very snug and warm. In the mornings we had coffee at the top of the tower looking out at the crashing waves, and in the afternoons we walked down the beach to have hot chocolate and lunch at the nearest cafe. The tower is a wonderful place for a family adventure

We really enjoyed our stay at Kempt Tower, plenty of room and all bedding supplied, along with kitchen basics (although the dish washer was broken) so cleaning up for 10 people would of been better with a working dishwasher. It's lovely and cosy and the log fire is a bonus, really warm inside and we stayed in November. A few more comfy chairs would be good as a bit of a squeeze fitting 10 people on the sofa. Overall I would give it 9/10 and would highly recommend

A group of 9 stayed last weekend. We felt everything was fabulous the location,accommodation and kitchen facilities.
We would recommend the bench on the roof which is broken being replaced or mended as it posed a bit of a risk. Also a table on the roof would be good as that's where people want to sit and eat in the evenings to enjoy the views and sunsets.

The accomodation was everything we had hoped for!

The location was perfect, the facilities were great and the service through our was amazing. I would highly recommend this place and will be visiting again.

My only feedback would be, good to get WiFi and also we were a group of women so maybe another mirror with a plug socket close by :)

The facilities are perfect, with plenty of room for family and friends to meet. The location is stunning and the views of the sunsetting was memorable. The tower itself has everything needed for a self catering holiday, the fire is an added bonus and makes the windiest of nights cosy and warm.

The accommodation was spotless, we would definitely recommend and book again in the future.

We enjoyed our stayca enormously. Surprisingly fabulous weather too.
Please make the emergency lights dimmer, they are far too bright. Tap water has a funny taste from the bore hole, I think. We were bringing in tap water from home. Thank you for a great mini-break.



This incredible fort is an experience to remember. Modern interior within a historic fort.

Me and my friends have always wanted to stay at a historic building to play some games including a murder mystery for the atmosphere it'd create. Kempt tower allows 12 to sleep in reasonably comfy beds with good heating as long as there's no snorers. The kitchen had everything we needed cooking up a bbq and lasagna. The oven was slow to warm up and cook and would be nice to have a proper bbq to use but minor inconveniences. One of the best aspects was the view from the top of the fort, just shows the surrounding area of dunes, beach and sea from a different perspective.

A fantastic place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of St Ouens Bay. Great restaurants within walking distance if needed. We loved lighting the log fire and enjoying cosy nights in.

This is the second year the book club has met for a weekend at Kempt Tower.
Its a great space with wonderful facilities - big kitchen - spacious dinning room and comfortable couch in from t of the wood burner.
We had a brilliant time watching the sun go down from the roof and walking of the beach.

The stay was wonderful and comfortable, plenty of warmth for the winter weekend, but unfortunately we stayed overnight during a huge storm which made sleeping difficult as there was lots of clattering and noise throughout the night. Nothing to be helped as it was a weather issue not a tower issue. Banging doors could perhaps be looked at? Otherwise very pleasant.

Well this is our fifth time to Kemp Tower and it’s the BEST place to enjoy your family. Great layout for a group of people to socialise, we lit the fire and watched the wild sea roll in on the beach. Facilities are all there for cooking so we brought homemade soups and bread to enjoy after some great walks. All the grandchildren love it cause they all get to camp out together, what’s more fun than that!

We booked Kemp tower for my partners 60 th birthday. A great venue , stunning views and luckily the weather was good .
I was a bit disappointed that it wasn’t ready at 3 as it happens they were still cleaning and clearing up from the last people .

Having stayed at several Jersey heritage sites Kempt tower was our latest destination. Overall we as a family of eight really enjoyed our time at the location and the experience. Highlighted are some pointers that we think would greatly enhance anyones stay.
- Some sineage outlining it’s a private holiday let. Several people tried the door whilst we were inside.
- More substantial and private screening between beds.
- Rooftop lighting to enhance the open sky experience, with adequate seating.
- Perhaps a DVD player for the family to use of an evening.
- A nearer luggage / access drop off point re children crossing the road for at night.
- One less toilet and one more shower for larger families.
Hope these observations help I’m sure the overall experience would be greatly enhanced if taken on board.

The tower was equipped with everything we needed, it is beautiful decorated with stylish with a comfortable corner couch and enough areas and seating for all guests, kitchen facilities are fantastic and the roof terrace is perfect for the sunshine. Customer service is fabulous and someone was always available to help. Beds are comfortable and linen clean and fresh. Shower and bathroom facilities were also fantastic. Great stay!

We had a lovely time during our stay at Kempt Tower which is situated right on the ocean front. Our dealings with staff at Heritage was great, a fuse blew during our stay and this was fixed for us within a matter of hours during the weekend.
The only suggestion I would make for guest is that you bring ear plugs with you for your stay, not because the surroundings of the property are noisy (in fact it is very peaceful around the accommodation), but due to the architecture of the building (which is beautiful), sound echos around the place so sound from your fellow guests may disturb you during the night if you’re not on the same sleep schedule. This isn’t a criticism on the property, just a suggestion to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

We spent one night in the tower in early April. It is well refurbished, with one large room upstairs split into a sleeping area and a sitting area. Kitchen is downstairs and is well equipped. It is located almost on the beach, and the view from the roof is amazing. A couple of things to note if you are thinking of booking. As it is all one room you really need to all go to bed at the same time! Also as it is a Martello tower, built as a defence it is very dark inside as the windows are small, also it is difficult to see the view other than from the roof. Finally parking is across the road in a public car park, we pulled up on the road outside to load the car for two minutes, to avoid carrying bags over the road and were shouted at by an angry runner for 'parking' on the path!
Having said that it is an amazing experience to have stayed in such an iconic building, definitely recommend.
