La Crête Fort dates from 1830 but sits on a site that was first militarised in the 16th century. Sleeping up to five people, the Fort comprises a double or twin bedroom, a single bunkroom and spacious shower room and large lounge/diner with sofa bed. A flight of stone steps will take you up to a large granite room with a vaulted ceiling with access to a secluded private garden terrace sheltered by granite walls.

It was a wonderful staycation in a cosy and atmospheric setting. Perfect for a Halloween party!
It was very clean and comfy with high quality furnishings. The addition of DVDs, books and board games was a nice touch

Set down the track out on the headland you could be a million miles from any where. Alas you are five minutes drive to the nearest shop.
The fort is beautifully furnished, toasty warm and equipped with everything you will need.
As you can expect from a historic fort it has steps and nooks and crannies to explore and quirky features you would only find in such a unique type of property. Private outside space with the sea crashing below you and cliff path literally on your doorstep for the dog. A stunning rustic, rural retreat where you can switch off from technology and loose yourself in the wonderful nature the north coast of Jersey has to offer.

Another lovely stay at the fort. It had been decorated since our last visit and was therefore beautifully presented. There cannot be many places on the planet that offer such a wonderful and unique stay. We'll be back! Additionally I would like to say thankyou to the very courteous drivers of Jersey, such a refreshing difference to what we're used to at home.

A real escape !
The fort is well equipped with everything you need for a short break .
Watching the sea change was an ever changing picture . We had a thunderstorm on one of the nights but we felt safe in our little granite fort .

Lovely to wake up by the sea every day! So quiet. Kitchen was fab and so well equipped. Living room is cosy. I thought it would be cold at the Fort, especially as I feel the cold, but it wasn't. I wasn't keen on going down the corridor to the bathroom but I appreciate that it is an historic building and has been converted the best way possible.

Our family had a wonderful few days at La Crete. It's an exceptional place to stay... the kids couldn't believe we were actually staying in a 'castle'! The setting is incredible, and we enjoyed several sunsets from the terrace. It's a quirky layout (worth being aware that the bathroom is only accessible via the bedrooms, and that the second bedroom doesn't have a window) but has been converted thoughtfully and stylishly. Don't miss out on the roped pathway down to the beach!

Excellent location with the most amazing view across the sea to the other Channel Islands.
Access to the many fantastic walks right on your door step.

We loved our little weekend stay here.
Loves hearing the wind and rain on the windows and having the sea view.
Very well equipped, everything we needed. Really cosy, comfy beds. (We didn't use the sofa bed)
Shame that the main bedroom heater didn't work, luckily the covers were nice and thick so slept well. Both bedroom heaters were on automatic timers that we couldn't change..was a shame for the smaller room as kids went to bed earlier so room was cold as heaters hadn't come on yet are and the hall way for bathroom and toilet was pretty cold.
Lounge was warm with both heaters on all the time.
All in all, lovely stay... Definitely recommend!!

What a fabulous stay at La Crete Fort. It was blowing a gale in the bay but it felt so warm and snug in the fort. It’s fantastically well equipped and stylishly decorated. The sea views, out to Giffard Bay on one side and Bonne Nuit Bay on the other, are absolutely stunning.

Five girls in our thirties, absolutely loved our two night stay at the fort, even in the middle of January. We were very lucky with the weather, so got to enjoy the outdoor area which overlooks the bay.

The apartment itself was very cozy and warm. The fort room was a bit cooler, so we wrapped up when we used that room.

Would recommend for a friends weekend!

Whether it be: Sitting on the window sill listening to the waves raking the gravel up and down the shore. Snuggled in a warm coat on the balcony, sipping hot chocolate, whilst taking in the view of the lights of Bonne Nuit harbour. Having a relaxing lie-in in an extremely comfortable bed. Cooking a sumptuous roast dinner in the well equipped kitchen before serving it in the most grand dining room.
This is the most amazing venue and if you are lucky enough to get the privilege to experience La Crete Fort, the memories will stay with you forever.

What a great experience starting with the journey to the fort. Down a winding road at night exciting to see what next! Views are tremendous and easy to access the accommodation down a few steps. Lovely and warm inside as heating and kitchen basics tea/coffee etc all ready to welcome us as well as a Christmas tree.. nice touch!
Slept well and enjoyed checking out the place during the day too. Highly recommend a stay here!

We love staying here with our little dog and stay at least once a year. Location is peaceful, property is always clean. Just lovely to have the opportunity to stay in one of these amazing properties. Love listening to the sea and watching the ever changing weather roll in

We spent 3 nights at the fort is September 2023 and found it to be an excellent place to stay. So warm, cozy and inviting despite the spicy weather! Patchy mobile phone signal and no Wi-Fi but they've installed a satellite dish now for the tv so you can keep up with world events if that's your thing. The shower has plenty of grunt although they ask you not to drink the borehole sourced water. Kitchen is well stocked, clean and tidy.
The track down to the fort that runs along behind the old folks home is a bit snug in places with quite a few fairly deep potholes so best leave the Ferrari at home. There's also a super little Thai café across at Bonne Nuit bay where we enjoyed a very tasty supper with plenty of parking along the pier.
Overall an excellent holiday property just oozing character and charm. Hoping to return for a longer break!

We enjoyed our stay very much and couldn’t fault the location it was private and secluded and there is so much history connected to the fort
We appreciate the price charged reflects the unique building which was amazing and the stunning views. We weren’t expecting luxury accommodation however although it was surface clean it was very very dusty in places and the inside windows obviously hadn’t been cleaned in some time ! The outside areas also need some attention and sprucing up to justify the cost of staying there. We had to cut back brambles in order to sit on the balcony outside the kitchen and the other outside seating area was spoiled by the view of weeds !
It was certainly a memorable experience staying here especially the driving down the very narrow dirt track to get there in the pitch black on our first night ( our ferry was delayed and outside lights are on a timer so had gone off!)
If you arrive late you need a torch!

The Fort is a wonderful location to stay with fantastic views and plenty of history to take in. It was clean and comfortable, a shame the fireplace was out of action though as it would have been nice to use. Word of warning, the cesspit is emptied early morning right outside the windows so take notice if this is happening during your stay!

An excellent stay in a wonderful property. A few parts are looking tired such as rusted safety railings which are no longer safe and need replacement. The garden areas could also be a wonderful feature if not neglected. But overall it is an incredible property, very comfortable with the most amazing views. We loved watching the sunset each night

We absolutely loved staying at La Crete Fort. It’s not luxury accommodation, but it is comfortable, it is unique and because of that…….a total experience. We did find that because of its location we tended not to go out during the evenings, but that was fine because we were out discovering all day, and ate at some great locations around the island, and were lucky enough to have a sunset every evening.. Would totally recommend the Thai takeaway from Bonne Nuit Bay, excellent food, and it’s fun to eat in the cafe too. The details of the property say no TV, but we found that the Satellite TV worked, so that was a plus! Fabulous week!

Escape to the security and comfort of an ancient fort whilst surrounded by the beauty of the Jersey north coast seascape!
My family of older children walked the cliff paths with the dog, swam, cooked together, watched sunrises, played games, read, did artwork, explored, connected, all from a warm, quiet and cosy heritage building.

This was our first staycation with our dog in a heritage let, and the location was perfect for the whole family. The fantastic location with the beaches and cliff paths on your doorstep, and the outside space within the fort made it both an active and relaxing break.

The facilities inside the fort were of a high standard and everywhere was perfectly clean. There are DVD's and board games to entertain you in the evenings if you didn't want to curl up with a good book in the cozy lounge.

We will book this let again in the summer as the bays are perfect for swimming and paddleboarding.

We had an amazing time. Everything needed to make our stay comfortable was available. It was great that there was no tv and Wi-Fi, the kids played old skool board games and had a fab break. Great downtime in a stunning location.
Shame about the miserable neighbors who obviously feel as though they own the island.

We really enjoyed our stay at La Crête fort, it’s an amazing and very unique location. We stayed in February but we were very lucky with the weather, sunshine and blue skies, the fort was well heated though so we were warm and cosy inside. It has no internet or a TV signal but there was a large choice of DVS’s to watch and board games to play. We walked along the cliff paths to a local pub where we had a lovely lunch.

We had a lovely 2 night break at the Fort in early January. The location is unique - right on top of the sea - with amazing views from the front room and from outside. There is parking outside which is shared with other beach users and the Fort is on the lower cliff path for the North coast walk but it was very quiet when we stayed.
The accommodation is comfortable with plenty of space. The fully equipped kitchen makes cooking easy. The bathroom is spacious and warm while the separate toilet is basic but functional. There is a selection of dvds and games in the front room. Don’t bring your own Blu-ray dvds as they won’t play! The real fire in the dining room upstairs is cosy and perfect when there’s a storm raging outside.
There are shops quite nearby to stock up on supplies if you need to and plenty to see and do close to the Fort.
A great experience!

We celebrated my mothers 50th birthday at Le Crete and had a fantastic time. It was very cosy and peaceful. The fort was clean and tidy and we all enjoyed our stay.

The only thing I would say is that the sofa bed in the living room is very uncomfortable so perhaps not suitable for 2 adults.

Very interesting building from Napoleonic and WWII eras, in an amazing location. The living area of the fort is not huge, so is cosy and the two of us did not feel we were rattling around in an enormous space. The outside dining possibilities are quite unique! We had a problem with the cooker, and the building manager was on our doorstep within half an hour, so service couldn't have been better.

We had a lovely stay at the fort and the weather was great ,however there are a couple of things which we think could be improved ,there were no umbrellas for outside and 1broken stand ,and as it was very hot they would have been very welcome ,also the railings on the front patio are unsafe , the parking spaces should be marked clearly as a few times we were unable to get out ,but we had a brilliant time .Thanks

Had a lovely week at Le Crete Fort. If you want somewhere different this is for you. Only real issue we experienced and that was parking. PLEASE NOTE there is no allocated parking at this property despite what you read and a sign fixed to gate which is ignored by all the locals. Had some problems when returning finding no where to park outside property as locals use it to park while they go fishing, dog walking and even overnight camping so you end up parking 50/100m away up track.

For one week we have had the chance to enjoy our summer holidays at the Fort.
It was a very interesting experience, the Fort is very well equipped, the surroundings are breathtaking, we enjoyed the sound of the sea, sat outside in the evening watching the sun going down. It was great, althought we have always known about the background of this special accommodation. It isn't just a simple house:).
But nevertheless we have liked every moment staying there.
When we needed some help or advice, we were always sure about the helpful contact to the Jersey Heritage.

We have enjoyed our second visit to La Crete Fort which was amazing again. In my view, the wooden table and four chairs on the kitchen terrace could do with a varnish or treated with preservative to keep it in good condition.

At some point in the near future, the railings on the kitchen balcony will need replacing along with the metal gates and grills up on the grassed area on top to keep the fort safe and secure. The ironwork is very rotten and coming away from its housing on the ground / walls..

The location and views are amazing and it is a very comfortable venue to stay at. We will of course return!

We had a lovely stay in Le Crete Fort and would highly recommend it! We loved the view and the sunsets where amazing. The Fort itself is comfortable, although it was warm so struggled to sleep at night without a fan. It is a lovely property and our stay was very special, we are looking to book other Heritage sites to enjoy in the future.

In a small overcrowded island it’s difficult to get away from crowds of people and busy roads but La Crete Fort offers that. We’ve loved the history of this incredible fort and having the opportunity to invite family and friends to pop by to share it with them. We had a 2 night staycation here with our dog and had a wonderful time.
The location is amazing, right on the cliffs and with views back to Bonne Nuit harbour. There's a lovely little sun trap terrace outside the front door where you can sit and admire the view.
The refurbishment had been very well thought through and we had everything we needed to be warm and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom toasty warm with a really good shower. It was lovely to sit in the lounge diner relaxing with a good book (no TV signal but that is part of the joy of this place).
It was great to walk through the gate and immediately be on the cliff paths. We walked down to Bonne Nuit (around 20 minutes) for a really good breakfast in the cafe.
The guard room is spectacular - what a place to have dinner!
Would definitely recommend staying here!

We had two nights at the fort in April. The fort itself is a fascinating building, a mix of the original fort and German additions during the occupation. The views are stunning and you feel that you are almost surrounded by the sea. The approach is along a track on along the hillside and at points you wonder where you are going. As soon as we arrived our two boys were out the car and of exploring the fort, battlements and surrounding rocks. A truly amazing place for a special break. you certainly do feel very remote, with just the sound of the sea and the gulls (and the boys shouting with joy!)
I have given it the 4 out of 5 for comfort as you have to go through the two bedrooms to get to the toilet and bathroom. It is not a massive problem, but it makes it a bit awkward if you need to go through to the loo in the night!

Nice to have a dog friendly place to stay, our dog enjoyed exploring the property. As well as being able to run outside on the cliff paths in such a beautiful location.

Tranquil location that enabled us to have some R&R! The fort is well equipped and extremely comfortable & the perfect March sunshine was an added bonus!

A very relaxing time spent in a special location. Even the wild stormy weather added to the experience. Definitely recommend it.
