Accommodating up to seven people plus your guide, Seymour Tower offers a truly unique experience. Stay overnight two miles offshore, completely surrounded by sea twice a day, Seymour Tower offers a fantastic base for exploring Jersey's marine wilderness at low tide. Spread over two floors with cooking facilities and wood burning stove on the ground floor and the bunk room on the upper floor with a basic chemical toilet.

Cutlery and crockery were icky, they hadn't been cleaned properly. We loved our stay.

Trudie our guide was brilliant and I would recommend her we had a brilliant time. When we arrived I noticed the crockery and cutlery were icky (they had not been cleaned properly). Brick dust had been falling down and covered the top shelf in the kitchen (If another group had been in recently then they hadn't left the tower in a good state if however a group hadn't been in then I can see the wind had pushed this in). Cutlery and large items scapulars etc were in a mess. Trudie together with another member of my party and myself spent time cleaning and arranging them where they should go so the next group found them in a good state.
Would it be possible to have another shelf in the bottom oven as there is one but it is used on the top gill at times. Also the bottom over didn't work well and we had to grill most things as the oven didn't really work and only made the food luke warm at best.
I only mention the negative things to try and make this better for the next group.
We loved staying at Seymour Tower

We stayed for one night in mid August 2024, with 10 and 12 year old boys. Communication with Jersey Heritage and briefs were excellent, as was our guide Piers. It is made clear what to bring and what to expect. Try not to overpack as you have to carry there and back again (around 1 nautical mile). Suggest everyone bring shoes to get wet and use on beach, and shoes for the tower to stay (relatively) sand free. The Tower is actually very well equipped; the bunks and toilet are fine (visitors will need good mobility and fitness level). Highlights included walks and playing football on the sandbanks, swimming in private pool as the tide comes in (a little warmer than regular sea temperature), 360o ocean views, learning more about the history, fishing from the parapet, BBQ and good times with friends, views back to Jersey and I’m sure the moon and starscape would be great on a clearer night. It is liberating to be surrounded by sea and to disconnect to reconnect (actually mobile signal is good but leave technology in your bag). Would highly recommend and look forward to visit Seymour Tower again in the future. Thank you.

This is a truly amazing place and we had an amazing night. The booking process was OK, but certainly not the easiest from the UK and you need to be realistic about what you are letting yourself in for - this is not a 5 star hotel - it is far more interesting than that! The experience was more similar to that of mountain huts in the Alps with rudimentary bunks, toilet and cooking facilities. At one point we were unsure if we needed to take pans (we did not) or what the cooking facilities were (an actual gas cooker!). What really made the trip was the guide (Peter) who took us "low water fishing" to forage for our supper and regaled us with stories of the island and beyond. Take your swimming trunks to enjoy a dip and enjoy the forced isolation of high tide. The tower does need some work as the inside is crumbling but this has got to be one of the best paces I have ever stayed. Truly unique!

Really lucky with the weather and the wood stove kept us warm at night. Always great to stay here and watch the tide rise until we are on a tiny island. Basic comforts but a unique stay.

A lovely remote, rustic property with all the basic equipment required for an overnight stay. Rented with friends and had a lovely time (bit like camping in a remote stone walled yurt). Our guide Natalie was absolutely amazing, can’t thank her enough for making this experience so fun. Would highly recommend this property and guide to small groups of friends looking for adventure. Don’t forget to bring your lobster hook!

We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay in Seymour Tower. Our guide Nick was excellent, he showed us lots of interesting sea life and was good company. It really is quite the magical place. It is basic but that’s part of its charm and the experience, but the cooker means there’s always hot drinks and food can be made. Recommend a trip if you don’t mind ‘roughing’ it , the peace and uniqueness is par excellence

This is an incredible location. It is absolutey stunning but it is 'stone camping' off-shore, in an old tower surrounded by water. It is not for the faint hearted and this set of questions is not appropriate - almost impossible to keep really clean, very limited facilities and can be quite uncomfortable in bad weather - you need to re-write the survey to suit the location!

Wonderful 24 hours at Seymour Tower. We were incredibly lucky with the weather which always helps! The Toweris very basic in terms of accommodation but that is what makes it so much fun! Our guide Martin was excellent in terms of helpful with tips of what to do and what not to do, generally information and history. Martin also had a the knack of fitting in really well, being around but not in an intrusive way. It is certainly a weekend that we will all remember, even my 14 year old som and his friend will have fond memories of it!

Absolutely incredible stay. It is rustic and authentic, be prepared for an exciting night out. Brilliant amenities considering the location and accessibility.

A cooker, fridge are perfect as well as a BBQ and a set of boules for fun at low tide.

Would highly recommend for a unique stay.

An excellent way to spend special time with special people. And Martin Viney was wonderful as our guide.
From walking down at low tide, to walking back 24 hours later, every part of the trip was memorable. Watching the tide come up and then recede (twice) was mesmerizing. We experienced glorious sunshine AND a thunderstorm with torrential rain, and Seymour was beautiful in it all.
A real privilege to get this unique perspective, looking back at ‘home’ while being totally cut off from it. Thank you Jersey Heritage (and Martin) for the opportunity.

We were three couples, lifelong friends and we could not find a better experience anywhere for a 24 hour get away. The walk out to the tower just increases the excitement. We were nervous that our guide may be a little conspicuous, but not all. The right mix of “for obvious reasons I need to be here for your safety”, and disappearing to fish or put the kettle on. We barbecued and played pétanque. We talked and laughed so much. We had a breezy stay and it was still enjoyable, there are always parts of the tower in the lee of the wind. We could also swim in the natural pool in front of the tower. This was a stay we will fondly remember for ever. Thank you so much

A unique and stunning location itself, and a base to explore and enjoy the aqua flora and fauna when the tide permits. The local seal made an appearance and the rock pools and gullies are bursting with life. For any bird lovers, there is also evidence of Peregrine activity and watching the gannets dive for fish is a pleasure to see. When the sea races in and cuts you off, you are safe as the fortress it is and it is a wonderful experience. The gas wasn't available due to a valve repair, but Graham, our adept, knowledgeable and friendly guide lit and dedicatedly fed the wood burner stove, so cups of tea and spaghetti Bolognese kept us warm, happy and sated. Different story if it had been a bigger group, but suited us fine and added to the experience of no mod cons in this clean but basic, interesting historical site. The guide is an important part of these trips and Graham is affable, interesting, knowledgeable and good fun - all things that are important when safety is key and you're also trapped in a tower with someone you don't know. Graham was a part of our stay and playing dice games and chatting and laughing added to the overall lovely experience.

A superb venue for a getaway adventure. The scenery was phenomenal. The guide was helpful and informative and a comfort to have around. We had a ball and would thoroughly recommend. Minor items are the kitchen facilities are adequate but could benefit from an upgrade, as could the bedside lights, some of which were not working.

We had an amazing stay at Seymour Tower. Beautiful scenery, fascinating place and history. Our guide, Kevin, was excellent - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He maintained a sense of fun and adventure while ensuring a very high standard of safety. We went with two children under 9 - they had an amazing adventure and Kevin was brilliant with them. Thank for a great trip!

Our visit to Seymour Tower was the realisation of a long held wish to experience the scenery, isolation and adventure it provides. It did not disappoint! Our JH guide was excellent - friendly, professional, knowledgeable and there to encourage all to enjoy the experience safely. With a spring tide, full moon and cloudless skies, the tower and its surrounding seascape are very special, with everything continually changing all around you, there was much to see and relish, day and night, low tide and high. The facilities are fairly basic, but comfortable, so appropriate preparation is important but easily manageable. This was an unforgettable experience combining the wonders of the natural world at both a local and cosmic level with the excitement and challenges of living in isolation of the 'real world' for a day or so!

should be on everyone’s bucket list.

We booked the tower several months ago, and were the first booking of the season (4th April). However a few days before we were told by Jersey Heritage that there was a problem with the wood burning stove, and it wasn't working. Our guide Martin got in touch and said it was still very cold and recommended that we didn't stay there. We agreed and they organised a night in Kempt Tower for us, which was great. However Martin did offer to take us out to the tower for a couple of hours, which we took him up on. The walk out it great, over a fascinating landscape. There is no way to avoid getting wet feet, so old trainers are the best thing, The tower itself is impressive and solid, but is basic inside, although the kitchen was better equipped than we expected, with a full oven and hob etc. It was a shame we didn't sleep over, but it was very cold and it was the right call by Martin for us not to stay. He was a great guide and knows the foreshore like the back of his hand! We do plan to return at some point when the stove is working.
I hav e given a 4 for the comfort, cleanliness and condition due to the nature of the place. It is a good as it can be.
