The Farmhouse Cottage is a perfect space for couples. Located on the Garlic Farm, our award winning onsite restaurant and farm shop serve breakfast and lunch everyday. Ideally located for exploring the Island on foot, bicycle or car. This property has no kitchen or dining facilities. We do provide tea and coffee making facilities and wine glasses!

We had such a wonderful stay at the Garlic Farm. We were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
The food in the restaurant was delicious and we enjoyed watching the red squirrels outside.
We will definitely be back next year.

We would like to say a big thank you to Colin & Jenny who own the farm, along with their lovely family members whom we met, to mention just a few, the lovely Melanie and husband Hugo.
From the minute we got there, they all made us feel at home and welcome. It makes a difference to a stay. And for us one of the most important things. The cottage was cosy, clean and we used the log burner, which was a good touch.
And what can we say about breakfast. The best we have ever tasted, with generous portions, in an idyllic setting.
We would also like to give a big thank you to the staff at the restaurant, as well as any other staff we met at the beautiful shop, well stocked shop, and any other staff we met around the farm.
We would definitely recommend a stay there, without hesitation.

We had a lovely long weekend staying at Farmhouse Cottage. Our daughter and family were staying in one of the yurts for the week, and it was a great way to get together. The cottage was clean, very pretty and spacious, and the location perfect. Communications were very good before and during our stay.
If I could make one suggestion it would be to provide at least a couple of side plates/knives, or suggest people bring these. We knew there would only be a fridge and no kitchen, but we did keep a few bits to eat in the fridge as snacks, and had to borrow crockery from my daughter's yurt.

Honestly we had the very best time staying at the Garlic farm. The owners were friendly, the cottage was cute. There were peacocks, red squirrels and rabbits around, and the restaurant, cafe and shop are all awesome! The food is amazing!!! One of the best UK restaurants we’ve been to in a long time. I can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to go back.

The cottage was absolutely lovely. Perfect for our short stay. It was clean and comfortable with some lovely little touches and the information pack on the local area was excellent. Communication with the host was very good and they couldn’t have been more helpful. Would highly recommend staying at the beautiful Garlic Farm. Everything great. The Cottage was lovely and homily, The addition of a (small) microwave would have made the score a full 5. Peacocks and red squirrel sightings helped to make the location excellent. Everyone at the Farm were hospitable and helpful with interesting titbits about the area.

The next door Restaurant and Shop were a very useful addition. Food was really good and we would highly recommended visiting the Farm just for that reason!

We arrived in lovely weather and found the cottage was very attractive. Inside the king size bed had lovely fresh white bed linen and the view of the garden with red squirrels, birds and a peacock was a joy.
The lounge has a two seater sofa and a chair, both good size and comfortable a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities on the window ledge. We wanted to try the seafood platter from Captain Stan’s in Bembridge during our stay but there were no plates or cutlery, we mentioned this at breakfast the next morning in the restaurant and by the time we returned from breakfast to the cottage two plates and cutlery had been brought over for us, excellent response and very much appreciated.
We had the opportunity to speak with the lady gardener who was lovely and she told us the rose in the garden of the cottage was called The Lady of Shallot, a beautiful rose and we will look into getting one upon our return.
Overall our stay was excellent we enjoyed the Island and all the local people were very pleasant and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time, life changing lasagne at the Bonchurch Inn was a delight we were lucky they had a cancellation as we hadn’t booked. We hope to return soon and try some more of the recommendations in the Garlic Farm welcome pack. Thank you to all.

I recently hired the Garlic Farm accommodation for my 40th birthday celebration.

The Accommodation team were brilliant at helping us put on an amazing event and catering to our guest’s individual needs. Friends and family members having been raving about the experience in the weeks afterwards.

The site is stunning, there are plenty of activities for children and adults and the accommodation is very well maintained. The communal yurt proved to be a real hub of fun and activity throughout our weekend.

We will not hesitate to book again.

We booked the cottage at a short notice, and it is a lovely place to stay, very cosy and comfortable. There are several entertainment facilities -tennis court, games room that we used. My son was well entertained :-)
I made an error during the booking process (forgot to reserve a folding bed) and it was sorted quickly and promptly.
All in all, highly recommend the place to stay and the restaurant to eat. Furthermore, try chocolate and black garlic ice cream and other produce from the shop.

We love the Garlic Farm. We visit and stay there every year now. I highly recommend them.

We made a mistake not checking this cottage had kitchen facilities as other accomodations on site (i.e. the Yurts) had them when we stayed previously. So made it a little complex staying with a young baby this time round.

Also make sure you book the breakfast.in advance. We were turned away from the restaurant at 9.15am on our first morning as we hadn't booked. So had to wait until 10am, and drive to visit another cafe on the island.

We love the Garlic Farm, but the farmhouse cottage isn't ideal if you need kitchen facilities and are staying longer than a day or two.

We will be staying again, but I will double check amenities next time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Garlic Farm - a fairly unique setting with Peacocks thrown in. The Farmhouse cottage was comfortable and well appointed. It was also in a central position. It doesn't have a kitchen area - something that we should have picked up in the comprehensive written guidance. No problem of course as well prepared meals were available in the restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The Pointer Inn was just a mile away (for supper), but worth noting that it does not serve food on Mondays and Tuesdays. A most enjoyable visit.

Location: tucked under Mersley Down in the centre of the Island there are attractions for all ages in all directions!

Having to take the car ferry from the mainland to the Island adds to the adventure and Mel who makes the bookings for cottages and yurts, can fix ferry reservations for residents.

Country pleasures abound on site : peacocks and a cockerel and his hareem of hens roam the courtyards with black ring doves. On the farm trails through fields full of garlic we found the Farm’s herd of highland cattle and ponies graze in adjacent fields. Idyllic scenes from the trail uphill opposite the Farm ….the coast and rolling downs.
Also on site - a shop full of garlic, Island produce and crafts, plus a superb restaurant and cafe (with garlic on the menu!)
A visit to Yaveland beach was a huge success with the family dogs - allowed to run loose on these sands.
A super fresh fish shop in Bembridge is much recommended.

A magical setting and fantastic facilities. We stayed as a couple but would love to return with family members and experience the yurts. We stayed two nights in Farmhouse Cottage in March. The weather wasn't kind to us but all the paths are paved so no worries about lots of mud!
The cottage was lovely and well appointed. On the website it said 'This property has no kitchen or dining facilities. There are tea and coffee making facilities and a mini fridge in the sitting room' but when we arrived there was indeed a full kitchen as well with fridge, microwave, cooker etc so we were a little confused! The rooms are all large, with one of the biggest bathrooms I've seen!
We had visits in the garden from the peacocks and red squirrels.
We ate twice in the restaurant, lunch and breakfast- both delicious
We also walked around the farm, there's a walk map available.
Plenty of parking, easy to find and the owners were all very pleasant. We had a welcome gift of a jar of pickle and a bulb of garlic! The shop is amazing, we've shopped online from here but great to go and restock.
The only small gripe was being woken on the first morning a little before 7am by a large articulated lorry parked directly outside the cottage with it's engine running for half an hour, but I guess it is a working farm.
All in all I would heartily reccommend.

Firstly and most importantly, we would return.

It’s a lovely little cottage in a beautiful place. Is it ‘hotel’ clean? no. Does the heating always work? No. Is the Wi-Fi great? No.

Did we decide one night not to venture out because we just sat in the lounge feeding the wood burning stove and catching up on our reading, wrapped in their blankets.YES

When we got there, there was no welcome as promised. However, the lady next door to us, who turned out to be the owners dog sitter was so lovely and even cut carted more kindling and wood for us. (I didn’t ask). Everyone was so friendly.

As long as your expectations are real and rural, you couldn’t not fall in love with this place..

We had a lovely stay at the Garlic Farm, staying in the Farmhouse cottage. The cottage was very spacious and the bed which is different from the one in the photos was very big and very comfortable. I agree with others that a small dishwasher would be an advantage as there is plenty of space to put one, however more crockery and cutlery would need to be provided. We felt that there could have been more options with the crockery for example soup bowls and pasta bowls. The heating thermostat is fixed meaning you are unable to turn it up, but the cottage was quite warm when we were staying and there is a small electric fire. Although there is a wood burner with logs and lighters provided there were no instructions on how to light/use it (we could have asked if we had wanted to use it I suppose). We used the restaurant twice one for an afternoon tea and cake and the other for breakfast, service and food is great. Location is great as you are not far from any part of the island. Last but not least the Peacocks wandering around are lovely to see and would come to the door. PS. If you ask them to book your ferry they can get it at a reduced rate which was great, we saved about £50

I was delighted to spend a few days in this lovely cottage, beautifully appointed and furnished,
with excellent kitchen facilities. (I had to clean the Bodum cafetiere, though, to free it from old coffee grains!)

In addition, the views from the front and back of the cottage were an added bonus, along with
Peacocks and Peahens roaming free around the place.

A short break at the Garlic Farm arranged at the last minute proved to be quite delightful.
We stayed in the Farmhouse Cottage which was plenty big enough for the two of us. It had clearly been recently decorated and renovated beautifully with a log burner in the lounge (which we took full advantage of!)
The farm is a family owned business with 3 generations involved to one degree or another everyone is very friendly and happy to chat or assist in any way that they can

My sister and I much appreciated the welcome friendly charming cosy cottage after a day spent in memory of our father and brother. Fresh flowers, milk in the fridge and a gift of garlic and chutney on the table.
Delightful crisp linen on the beds.
We also discovered a family connection with the garlic farm story and were generously hosted by the Boswell family.
Beautifully presented garlic farm, walks, shop and restaurant and a delicious breakfast.

An attractive and comfortable cottage which suited us very well for a weekend. Very pleasant location with great views and convenient for exploring the whole island. Comfortable bed (#1 requirement) and sitting room with cosy woodburning stove. Kitchen has most of what is needed but lacks a dishwasher - a washing machine and tumble drier was no substitute but might suit muddy walkers/cyclists. Heating was a bit quirky. Overall seemed a bit expensive but in this post-Brexit, post pandemic(?,) Cold War II world not unexpected.

We spent a couple of nights here while visiting our newly purchased house which has an army of builders in at the moment. Every aspect of the booking was smooth and efficient, including the booking on our behalf of the ferry crossing, with a substantial discount on the open market fare.. On arrival we were greeted pleasantly and shown round the immaculate property. Well laid out, comfortably furnished and decorated, it was warm and cozy with excellent heating and lashings of hot water. The pre-prepared meals we ordered were generous and delicious. Everything was well managed and the service delightful. Even after we had checked out our hosts were happy to arrange a change of ferry times. Excellent value and highly recommended.

Our first holiday away from home since October (7 months ago) so for a pair of regular travellers the Garlic Farm had a lot to live up to. It did, a spacious cottage for two, fully equipped and comfortable. It has its own garden area with seating and bbq, with views over the surrounding countryside. Easy instructions to get into the cottage and the owners ensure you’ve got everything you need. Excellent location for walks on the farm and further afield and also for visiting the numerous places of interest on the Island. It’s quiet, OK, the beautiful peacocks can be a little noisy but not so much to disturb you, but what fun to watch then! There is an excellent restaurant on site, book it’s very popular and it opens for breakfast. A bonus for the Isle of Wight (so it appears from our days out) is there is parking - who needs the stress of finding a parking space for your accommodation whilst on holiday - that’s something you don’t need to worry about here. This is a stress free, relaxing holiday, everyone we met chatted, passed the time of day and the Garlic Farm is a friendly place to stay. We will return.

We were greeted by an albino peacock, strutting his stuff by the front door of the cottage. The welcome packs of food we had ordered were in the kitchen. The small outside seating space was pleasant in the evening, although we used our own camping chairs in preference to the rigid metal ones outside. The cottage was comfortable and fully equipped. The bathroom is a good size and the bed comfortable. It adjoins the owner’s farm house, which extends over the cottage, so there is some noise from the floor above. We had a problem with a kitchen window coming open, but was advised that new windows will shortly be installed. We had a cooked breakfast at the Garlic Farm’s outside restaurant.

It was a lovely relaxing cottage in beautiful surroundings. It was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfasts were excellent and we went back for afternoon tea one day too to sample the delicious cakes. I saw a red squirrel from my table and that really made my day! The shop sells all things garlic so I was able to buy my garlic seed and several jars of pickle to take home. It is very central to everywhere on the Isle of Wight. My only regret is that I only spent two nights here and didn't manage to take the walks around the farm in that lovely scenery!

The Garlic Farm seems very popular and is in an attractive location but a car/bike is required to get to anywhere. The Farm is quite an extensive area and has a number of walks. The accommodation is expansive with three living rooms and shower/bathroom. The kitchen is outfitted well. The welcome pack provides lots of information. We appreciated that animals were not permitted in this particular accommodation.

We had a wonderful welcome and were pleasantly surprised how spacious the cottage was.Everything was provided and it was very comfortable.Any special requests were dealt with promptly.Slight criticism ,the private garden had no privacy but as this was part of the owners garden it wasn't a big problem.We ate at the restaurant for breakfast which was very good and the staff very helpful.The shop was good,again with helpful and friendly staff.
In summary,we had a lovely stay in beautiful surroundings with friendly and helpful people.We are already planning to return!

The Farm itself was in a great location to explore the Island, also they had a fantastic Farm shop & great food in their Restaurant.
The Farm Cottage was comfortable with all mod-cons , though quite a few spiders, which I had to get my husband to remove - some cupboards needed to be dusted.

One only issue was that its connected directly to the main Farm House - so you could hear the hosts family in their living room from the kitchen - but you could close the kitchen door , also when they were walking upstairs - which was above the kitchen & sitting room.

The hosts were really friendly - always busy working but theres a lot to do around the farm, check their website & would recommend

very short 2 night stay at the garlic farm,. second time we have visited. The farm is lovely, very friendly and relaxing place to be. The island is perfect for relaxing, walking and visiting interesting places. Accommodation is excellent, well equipped and extremely clean and comfortable. A lovely time in a beautiful cozy cottage in perfect Winter weather. The cottage was spotless with a log fire already made up. The breakfast was delicious and all staff were very frienfly. A home from home in a stunning location. Perfect. We shall return.

A lovely cottage with plenty of character. On site with the garlic shop, lovely restaurant (where we ate a delicious breakfast) and the garlic farm experience which had a excellent activities going on for our two small children. Games room was an added bonus, as was the outside play area for kids.
Great hosts with excellent communication when needed. Lovely touch was the fresh milk in the fridge, a bulb or garlic and some pickle from their shop. Will definitely be returning and would love to try out the yurts next time.

A cosy comfortable cottage ideally located for all parts of the island. Well equipped kitchen, large bathroom plus a cosy living room and good sized bedroom.
Slightly noisy early evening as only a partition wall between cottage kitchen and farmhouse next door. Noisy overhead in living room too but once children went to bed it was all quiet again.
Cottage has a number of small steps going from room to room making it challenging for less able guests.
Nothing is very far from the Garlic Farm. Ideal location to explore the island.
There is a tasting room at the farm-allows ‘try before you buy’ option. Great idea! 10% off for guests too.

We had a really enjoyable stay at the garlic farm (farmhouse cottage). The location is great as a base to explore the island. The garlic farm shop and cafe are excellent - breakfast is a must. The cottage was very cosy and clean - the only thing we would say is that the bathroom could do with a bit of an update. A relative stayed in one of the new yurts which we would definitely consider next time we visit. Overall very impressed.

We had a short but comfortable stay at our cottage. A base from which to visit friends. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the tranquility of the area and weren’t disturbed by the visitors to the cafe and shop etc at all.

I should have paid attention to the confirmation email and logged in to the website for guests to find the actual cottage. A rather fruitless search from the main car park finally ended up with me logging in and getting a location map, which in itself could have been easier to interpret. A few signs for guest would be helpful.

Owners were very friendly and welcoming. Would stay there again.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Garlic Farm. Beautiful location, lovely cottage and everyone was friendly and welcoming. I think that the cottage itself needs a little updating as there were quite a few marks and scuffs on some surfaces in the bathroom and in the bedroom. Although we were aware that the cottage itself was attached to the main farm house, we were able to hear quite a lot of activity from next door. So it might be worth making people more aware of this. Thank you again for a very enjoyable stay. We will be back!

We arrived to a very warm welcome and had extremely pleasant interactions with all staff members for our entire stay (Millie was fantastic with the guinea pigs!). Our cottage had plenty of room and everything we needed for our stay (Netflix and the wood burning stove were our favourites). The farm itself was very well laid out, tidy and had everything we could have wanted and more (the games room was a nice touch). We also had the delight of waking up to peacocks every morning which was rather interesting. There were a couple of negatives but nothing major: our shower basin didn’t drain properly so we had a kind of dual bath/shower situation happening and the next door neighbours dog was making quite a racket at times (don’t hold it against him whatsoever). Overall, we had a brilliant stay and will be recommending the garlic farm to our family and friends. Look forward to staying here again in the future!

Really sweet get-away, my husband and I had a lovely weekend. Colin was on hand to ensure all was well, he fetched us some towels and spoke to the restaurant about including a pot of tea with our breakfast.
The location is beautiful and the food exceptional. The farmhouse is well equipped and comfortable. Even the weather was amazing to enjoy the island.

We stayed here for my husbands birthday and it was a perfect location to explore different parts of the Isle of Wight. An excellent cottage with all requirements in a superb quiet location. Even if you are not a garlic lover this is worth considering for a stay. A wide range of stock in the shop and a separate area for tasting all sauces, garlic varieties etc. Good friendly restaurant, the garlic breakfasts are not overwhelming but very tasty. Overall you won’t be disappointed.

Farmhouse Cottage at The Garlic Farm in Newchurch was truly like a little piece of Heaven. A restful, peaceful and beautiful set up right in the heart of the countryside and 15min drive to Shanklin or Ryde. The whole team who work there are exceptionally friendly and helpful and we really loved the whole set up, from the peacocks strolling around to the Garlic Farm walks where you can see Highland Cows. The restaurant serves very good food and delicious cake. We could spend hours in the tasting centre and shop, really loved this, plus you get a discount there if you’re staying at the Garlic Farm .The Farmhouse Cottage was lovely and cosy but still spacious. Would highly recommend this place. You will need a car to stay here, as it’s a little bit off the beaten track. Thank you for such a wonderful holiday experience. Maria and Wilf
