Thank you to the Garlic Farm team, particularly Melanie who took care of us from the very beginning (booking the cottage and ferry) and up to the end of our stay. We have received a lot of extensive information about the cottage and Garlic `Farm facilities a good time in advance that had covered everything, every needs, questions, farm facilities, our wishes and we were happy all the time of our stay at the Farm. The farm staff were very helpful, quick to respond to all our questions, emails, phone calls while we have been there.

We will definitely recommend the Garlic Farm to all our friens, relatives, neigbhours and we want to come back too!
Thank you to the staff of the Garlic Farm! :)

We stayed in Kiln cottage for a week... it was very comfortable, plenty of space for the 4 of us (with my wife and 2 girls of 10 and 13) and had everything provided as promised. The cottage was clean and felt like home for the week. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. It was especially nice to have all of the other amenities of the farm, like the shop and restaurant, game room, playground, and long walks around the beautiful hills. We'd stay here again in a second.

Our stay at Kiln Cottage was lovely. Could not fault the accommodation, as well as the contents at all, everything was there that you needed. The location, was beautiful. The terrace at the front provided a gorgeous view over the fields where the horses were. The staff all around were very friendly and very informative.
Would definitely come back again, perhaps for a bit longer.

We booked to stay for the proximity to our friend's house. The accomodation was good for teenage children and felt homelike as opposed to a hotel or B&B.
Very good communication and clean, comfortable cottage.
Good to have restaurant on site for breakfast etc.
A comfortable stay.

The whole of the garlic farm is full of charm and is definitely a place to take a breath and relax. The peacock is gorgeous and it’s clear to see that they have made the most of the wildlife in the area by providing red squirrel feeding stations by the restaurant amongst other things.
The games room is excellent, we had a great time, lots of things to do.
Small things could be improved, there was a sock under the bed from a previous guests stay, the bed was very uncomfortable and dipped in the middle and the pillows were uncomfortable.
The garlic bread was amazing as was breakfast in the restaurant, lovely food and although there was garlic in most of the dishes it was very subtle and definitely added to the dishes.
It would have been good to have a clearly marked parking space for the cottage as on changeover day the neighbouring cottage had taken up both parking places as it was not clearly marked.

This is our second time we go to Kiln Cottage we were very keen to get the same one as we were brining our friends to the Isle of Wight for the first time.

We had such a great experience the first time we spoke to Melanie again which had great customer service to book us in.

We highly recommend it! It great as you can bbq, cook as the kitchen is fully equipped!

Love it will book for the third time but this time with a hot tub:)

We love staying at the Garlic farm and Kiln Cottage in particular as it is the perfect size for a small family with enclosed outdoor space for little ones. Some decor within the cottage could do with a bit of attention, but overall we love staying here and are booked again for 2024!

We had a lovely stay at the Garlic Farm! It was November and pretty wet, but it was so nice to have somewhere cosy to stay and chill out for a few days. We had our dog and the hosts were very welcoming, we were able to explore the farm with their farm walks. 100% recommend eating at the restaurant too! Thanks for a lovely stay

Our stay in the Kiln cottage was very comfortable. We brought our 2 labradors and it is ideal for them because they have more than enough space in the cottage and there are many good walks in the grounds of the garlic farm.

The cottage contains everything you might need and is very spacious.

Bit tricky going down the Newport Shute ( but that's only me as a driver ) but once we arrived oh! what a lovely place
Lovely and peaceful
Peacocks on our doorstep and rabbits in the field
Restaurant, coffee shop and gift shop all on site - ideal if you do not want to venture far
Do lunches/cream teas and a fantastic cooked breakfast
Cottages were well equipped and extremely peaceful
Plenty of parking outside the restaurant and outside the cottages
P.S. There is also a disabled ramp for access to the restaurant and shop
Had a lovely break - shame we had to come home

Would definitely come back again

The house is in a beautiful location on the wonderful garlic farm. It has an open plan ground floor with kitchen and living room with a utility room with shower. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with ensuite toilets with a bath. There is no shower upstairs.

The house is nicely furnished with comfortable beds. For us it was a little too warm upstairs so the fans were definitely needed.

There is a cute courtyard at the back with two recliners and a table and chairs to seat four with a BBQ too. The front courtyard has another table to sear 4 and overlooks the field with horses beyond.

We loved our stay, in particular the location as it was so easy to drive everywhere and the garlic farm restaurant was genuinely delicious. You need to book in advance for any evening meals as they are not open every evening. The only thing I would recommend for them to do is have a bit more variety in the farm shop of food to buy if youre staying there, just a bit of fruit or some local meat would be good and we have shopped there daily rather than going to supermarkets. The Pointer Inn was excellent for dinner locally too as was the Dairymans Daughter.

All in all a fab house, the only thing that could have made it better was a shower upstairs ( or an attachment to the bath to wash hair!). Would love to go again.

Melanie and Hugo were very accommodating when we booked the cottage. Melanie also secured a fantastic discount on the ferry and allowed us a late check out too. We were only on a short break of 2 nights sadly.
Kiln Cottage is very well set up with everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Having 3 bathrooms was a great bonus.
The Cottage has a patio at the front which is sunny in the morning and also one at the rear with sun loungers and a BBQ.
We were visited by the peacock on our last morning which was fun.
We had breakfast in the Farm restaurant - the food was excellent as was the service and 10% discount if you are staying is great.
We didn’t have time to explore the farm but hopefully another time. All the staff we encountered were very happy and attentive and we are very happy to recommend Kiln Cottage.

Great holiday accommodation, excellent facilities in a lovely centre of island location. Seemed quiet and secluded but with easy access to the bustling farm shop and restaurant (great breakfasts).
Hard to find fault or recommend any improvements - although a couple more pillows for the single beds would have been appreciated by our travel companions.

We have stayed at The Garlic Farm four times now and simply love it! The peacocks, squirrels and black stripped doves are highlights. Oh and not forgetting the huge chickens...my cocker spaniel's favourite. He was simply astonished when a very large chicken sat on a bench next to our table outside when we were having lunch one day! The audacity!

The dog walks to Arreton Barn and surrounding areas with hares and Highland cattle were another startling feature this time. Garlic Farm's proximity to lovely beaches, in Shanklin, Yaverton, etc., is also a draw for us.

Our favourite cottage is Kiln Cottage. The view over the rolling hills with a field with a Shetland pony and other horses and the peacocks who visited on our sun basked patio area in the morning add further dimensions to our stay. We fed the peacocks by hand and got to know a frequently visiting cole tit.

We visited in late April and hope to be back in early September...see you again Garlic Farm!

The cottage is really clean and comfortable and better-equipped than any self-catering accommodation we had experienced before.
Set in a beautiful little valley, it's gloriously dark at night with no light pollution, and also really quiet – you wake up to bird song, and the resident peacock.
The cottage is located really close to Robin Hill, which is a fantastic day out, and also within easy reach of all of the island's attractions.
The only thing we found a bit disappointing was the lack of welcome; it just felt a bit strange not to meet or be welcomed by the host at any point, but I can imagine they have a busy farm and attraction to manage, so might not have had time for it.
Otherwise though, a wonderful stay and we'd love to come back.

We stayed (two adults, one child) for four nights. Cottage well supplied with all the necessary bits of kit, and the setting is spectacular. Numerous big supermarkets etc within easy reach. Games room, football and tennis a big bonus. Parking easy. It was generally very quiet, although some of the adjacent cottages could be noisy until fairly late. It was great having three bathrooms, but there's only one shower (downstairs). Some of the cosmetic aspects need attention - some broken furniture, peeling plaster and rusty radiators. Fridge has seen better days too. But overall a lovely spot to stay, and we'd certainly go back.

Stayed for 2 nights at Kiln Cottage in a peaceful but beautiful location with a well equipped kitchen including a dishwasher! Loved the complimentary chutney and garlic which we used for our dinner. The washing machine and dryer was a godsend. The cottage and facilities were clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking available and the walks around the estate was very therapeutic especially at the fishing pond! Will definitely return if we visit the Isle of Wight again!

Kiln cottage is a lovely property and very comfortable stay for 2 couples. The Garlic farm has a great restaurant with fabulous food and we also made use of the games room and a guided nature walk. My only criticism is that I would suggest that the owners provide more cutlery, plates and glasses as you need to run the dishwasher after every meal.

This was the 1st time in 4 visits that we have stayed in Kiln cottage (usually Barn cottage). It was bigger so more room for us all share. Bed was really comfy and nice ensuite bath. Only drew back was having the shower downstairs, but that is the only place it would go in this converted barn. All clean and tidy and outside areas safe for dogs.
Booking was hassle free, cheaper ferry crossing a bonus.

This was our second visit to the Garlic farm having stayed in The Barn in 2019. As our family has grown we stayed in The Kiln this time and loved it even more than our first stay!
Customer service in the lead up to our stay was fantastic, the farm itself is beautiful and we had an absolutely brilliant time.
I would definitely recommend the Garlic Farm to anyone looking for somewhere to stay on the Isle of Wight and we would love to visit again.
Our only issue was around parking as we weren't sure which parking spot belonged to the Kiln - not a big deal at all but just a point to note for any future guests.

The cottage was very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for our short family stay. The location suited us - rural, quiet with nice walks, but not too far from town when we needed shops and restaurants.
We hope to stay here again.

We absolutely LOVED staying at Kiln Cottage and the Garlic Farm. What an amazing place to chill out for a couple of days. The cottage was clean, comfortable and beautiful. The farm itself was so nice to wander around and see peacocks, rabbits and lots of different birds. There was a games room, football pitch and tennis courts, our stay was only 2 nights so we didn't have much time to make use of those facilities but they were great all the same. We ate in the restaurant for lunch on our day of arrival and breakfast when we left and the food was really good, staff were also lovely and very friendly. I just wish the restaurant was open in the evening too, that would have been great! All in all a fantastic stay and I really didn't want to leave to come back to reality in Brighton. I think I am a country girl at heart! We will definitely be back to visit again in the near future, oh also if you are staying with them, book your ferry through Melanie too, who was most helpful, it saved us around £50 on the ferry cost. And don't forget to visit the lovely shop for garlic goodies!

We really enjoyed our break at the Garlic Farm. The walks were well signposted and with fabulous views. The accommodation was well thought out, with everything we needed and many helpful additions. The hosts were so helpful when we needed to adjust our bookings too.

The games room and outside play areas were brilliant for our boisterous boys and allowed them to let off steam. A great base away from the hustle and well positioned to visit lots of attractions.

Thank you.

We previously stayed at the Garlic Farm in the Milking Parlour and enjoyed it on both occasions. Whilst restaurant facilities are provided at the farm, they closed at 5pm which we believe is too early. 7pm would be preferable to enable us to enjoy an early dinner without having to drive off somewhere in search of food etc. In addition whilst their information pack says we will be contacted by a staff member upon arrival or during our stay to check all is ok., that never happened to us on both of our stays at The Garliic Farm and at no time did any member of staff make such contact. We had the feeling they have our money so no need to bother themselves.

We had an enjoyable stay at Kiln Cottage. Lovely rural location and the cottage was well equipped and clean. I would just like to
mention a few things that would have improved our stay. I slept in the twin room and found the single bed rather uncomfortable
and the pillows lumpy. The bath towels are rather on the small size for an adult. On one night of our stay I was woken up at about 2.00 am and then kept awake by several people taking near our cottage, for an hour or so. I couldn't see anyone, but in such a quiet location any noise carries a long way.
On the plus side, It was nice to find that you supply toiletries, washing up liquid, a bottle of milk, tea bags, etc and the garlic relish was a nice touch. Melanie was very welcoming and helpfully changed our return ferry crossing at short notice.

This is our second holiday in Kiln Cottage on the Garlic Farm and we had another great break. Very central and peaceful location, comfortable accommodation and it was really useful having the shop and restaurant on site. Our children loved the games room and tennis court. Perfect base to explore the island on a family holiday and we would definitely recommend to others. My son said: “It’s the best cottage, ever!”

What a magical peaceful place, we had the most wonderful time and can not wait to return! Beautiful views over the paddock fields and roaming peacocks which my daughter loved. Great facilities to keep my 13 year old boy happy at the games room and tennis courts.

Breakfast and afternoon tea is a must at the garlic farm cafe - it was the perfect get away! We even managed to book our daughter horse riding on the beach which was recommended in the welcome book. We arrived super tired and left refreshed - thank you to Melanie and Hugo for rearranging our stay every time covid hit, but we eventually made it and it didn’t disappoint xxx

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kiln Cottage. The house is very comfortable and clean and we particularly enjoyed sitting in the courtyard garden listening to the birds and saying hello to the visiting peafowl!
We also enjoyed walking around the farm after all the day visitors had left, it’s so peaceful.

We had a fantastic time at Kiln Cottage. We normally stay in Cowes but due to COVID restrictions the accommodation was too large so managed to book 2 cottages for our family holiday - Kiln cottage and Mill Cottage. We thought the location was great with our 2 young grand children who were fascinated by the peacocks and loved the play area. The accommodation was very clean and we were impressed with the COVID email we received before arriving. - thank you Hugo and family we can’t wait to stay again.
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast as well outside and saw the red squirrel!

We had a lovely stay in Kiln Cottage, the farm is situated in a great location with beautiful views and gorgeous gardens and plants.

We found the cottage to be quite dated and tired in decor etc which wasn’t what we had expected given the relatively expensive price we paid for the stay. Staff were pleasant and friendly at the restaurant but it all felt a little commercial and like you were on a conveyor belt of customers - this could possibly be post lockdown business etc.

Those three nights at Kiln Cottage were exactly what we needed as a little family to ecape busy and noisy London and recharge our batteries.
The accomodation was comfortable and clean with a very well equipped kitchen- One thing that we were missing though was a broom to give the floor a quick sweep after cooking without having to use the noisy hoover.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the customer service deserves an extra star for providing an oversized cooking pot that we needed for our Saturday dinner.
Also for our little son this was the perfect holiday trip with a lot of exciting new things to see and do starting with taking the ferry, playing on the beach and visiting all the farm animals.

Since we have enjoyed our stay at the garlic farm so much we will for sure come back in the future and can't recommend it enough!

This was our second stay, this time in Kiln Cottage. It is a lovely barn conversion, spacious and light inside, comfortable sofas, very well equipped kitchen. Our double bed had a good mattress so we slept well, there was a lovely feel to the room being in the roof. We were only 2 people, it’s built for up to 4, and it would definitely be comfortable for 4. Large private patio at the back with bbq and seating. Smaller private patio at the front. Both sun traps for the sun through the day. The peacocks love to visit and provide a display every now and again too. We’ve loved staying at the Garlic farm because it’s beautiful, spacious, private, quiet, accessible for the whole Island, and the staff are helpful and friendly. There is nothing to disappoint at Kiln, we definitely recommend it and would stay again at the drop of a hat.

I always go to The Garlic Farm when visiting the Isle of Wight and have stayed there twice, this time in Kiln Cottage, which is cosy and full of character. The resident peacocks hopped over the cottage garden wall for a visit on several days while I was there, giving me a wonderful display of their colourful feathers. The restaurant food is delicious and garlic plays a prominent feature in many of the dishes (including the Black Garlic Ice Cream, which has to be tried!) There are some lovely walks around the farm too and, if you're lucky, you might catch sight of the red squirrels dancing on the lawn!

A lovely, comfortable, character cottage in an excellent location for walking and cycling. Two courtyards provide additional outdoor space to enjoy the morning/evening sun, observe visiting wildlife such as the inquisitive peacock family, and park bikes and walking equipment. The icing on the cake - a short, picture perfect, stroll to the Garlic Farm's amazing breakfasts.

Really enjoyed our recent stay at the Garlic Farm. Lovely rural setting in a location fairly central to the island. Lots of animals for the kids to interact with (my kids were obsessed with the horses) and fantastic to also have use of the games room, tennis court and football pitch. Our cottage was comfortable, and the owners provided helpful suggestions regarding local restaurants, beaches and attractions. Food at the restaurant was nice and it is very popular. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

We stayed in Kiln Cottage and found it clean, comfortable and equiped to a very high standard. There is plenty of room for four, but as there were just two of us it was quite luxurious. It was very welcoming with flowers, garlic gifts and fresh milk provided. All the people we met were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed superb breakfasts (included in the price) in the cafe next door.
We were very unlucky with the weather as it rained virtually non-stop. We intend to go back when it is warmer and drier and do justice to all the things there are to see and do on the Isle of Wight. Highly recommended.

Despite Storm Ciara’s best efforts, we arrived in time to enjoy a delicious light lunch in the restaurant before finding Kiln Cottage and settling in. We stayed at the garlic farm for half term week, it was so lovely to turn up and find Kiln cottage was every bit as cosy, warm and comfortable as it looked in the pictures. We thought it was great for us and our 2 children (6 & 3), it was well equipped, clean and had some nice touches such as the jar of relish, garlic bulb and milk left for us. We found it an ideal base and was a nice surprise to wake up to the peacocks looking in the windows at us in the morning. The Halloween meal and entertainment from Huxley magic was brilliant and a really nice extra treat. If I was being *super* picky, I’d say that the cottage has a few areas starting to look at little tired (radiators in the bathroom had some flaky paint, utility room could use smartening up and the mattress on the double bed was very soft and a little uncomfortable but it was cleaned to a high standard and certainly nothing to complain about. We would definitely like to stay here again.

Loved the setting and the cottage. Fully equipped and comfortable.
Only snag was the baby cot, that we struggled to open. We knew how it should work as we have one but it took a lot of effort and a bruised and blood blistered hand to set it up. The owner was more than happy to help but we sorted it just before they arrived.

Would definitely stay there again though, but would ask for the cot to be set up beforehand.

Fab cottage, and fab location. Very peaceful, and yet, with the Garlic Farm shop and restaurant close by, there was something of a real buzz about the place. The furniture upholstery had seen better days in our view, but that's a minor thing, and we were very comfortable regardless. We greatly enjoyed our stay, and not least because of our newly made friends, the resident family of peacocks and a hummingbird hawk-moth, which graced us with its presence daily. We have just had a fantastic fortnight at kiln Cottage, the ambiance of the place is just lovely and so relaxing. The Garlic Farm is excellently placed to visit so many attractions on the Isle of Wight. The Cottage was very comfortable and clean. We had breakfast and lunch during our stay and both were delicious . Everybody on the farm are very friendly and helpful. This was one of our best holidays and we are looking forward to a return visit!

Kiln Cottage sits in a lovely countryside setting next to the popular Garlic Farm. It’s a very comfortable, clean and well equipped property. Would certainly make a return visit.

I hadn’t had a good experience of staying and visiting IOW until I booked in at Garlic Farm with my family. Must say its one of the best places I have stayed in for a while. The location, views, comfort, customer service and the food were simply great..!!!! Highly recommended.

We stayed as a Family of four in the Kiln Cottage for three days earlier this week to celebrate my wife's Birthday, We cannot rave enough about this break, such a quiet peaceful place to stay, excellent accommodation and very nice surroundings it was a pleasure to wake up each morning
I honestly explain how great it was, we had a Great time from start to finish, this is such a Great Location to base yourself for visiting around the island.

Fantastic stay as a family of four at this cottage. Wonderfully light, comfortable and with daily visits from the peacocks, what's not to love!
All amenities catered for, only thing we would have found useful that isn't provided in the cottage is some children's bowls, plates, cups and cutlery.
One thing to note is There is no shower upstairs but there are two comfortable bath suites.
The shower is in the downstairs bathroom.
Owners are wonderful, as are all the staff around the farm. The restaurant food is great, the children's areas and abundance of space is a real plus point.
Can't wait to stay again.

We had a lovely stay in the cottage. Its well located for Isle of Wight attractions, the rooms are very comfortable, there is plenty of space in the kitchen for a sit down meal, and in the living rooms to relax after a day out. Their are some nice touches and original features throughout. Its great being near Garlic Farm, (the restaurant & shop), with some great country walks and pubs from the door step. Very happy to recommend!

We stayed here as a group for our recent wedding and as bride and groom took Kiln Cottage ourselves due to the lovely big open plan kitchen living room. It also seemed the best layout for us with our young twins A lovely social space perfect for getting ready in.
The rooms were clean and tidy and well equipped.
We found the beds comfortable and cosy.

Very spacious cottage with all the facilities needed and beautiful views. Waking up to peacocks on the front patio & horses in the paddock was lovely. Also having a back yard to do a bbq & again having all the facilities their for us to use such hassle free.
Fantastic food at the restaurant with great facilities for the kids, chickens, play park, & games room for staying guests.
The garlic tour was fantastic & so was the walks.
The cottage was in a great location quite central to get around the island.
Will definitely be coming back.

My wife and I stayed in kiln cottage. The cottage was lovely and clean, with every appliance possible (cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine etc), all in nice clean condition. The television was brand new.
The location was perfect, lovely and peaceful.
Couldn't really find any fault with the cottage. Will definitely come again.

The booking arrangements were fine, but we were a bit disappointed with the place and felt the overall standard was less than normally provided in holiday cottages. Everything seemed to be pared back to the absolute minimum - would have expected eg some cooking oil, paper towels, a couple of paper napkins, a bit more soap maybe? There was the distinct impression of meanness overall. Add to that a poorly functioning TV, dodgy & tedious internet coverage, and a faint whiff of dog (didn’t mind that too much!).

Mixed feelings.

Good points: loved visit to Garlic Farm shop; great to bring family for a meal; bed comfortable; loved the peacocks; apartment sort of grew on us!

Not so good points: Needs a make over. Had to buy bleach to clean kitchen sink; bins not emptied properly from previous tenant; no visit from owners other than chance meeting with Hugo's father; table mats need throwing out; had to buy black bin bags to black out light in bedroom as curtains too light.

Would we use it again? If we couldn't find anything better!

I'm sorry I did not see you in person but I had been assured by my father that he'd welcomed you. We appreciate your helpful comments, especially about the curtains which we're replacing as we speak. Needless to say the table mats have gone to the bin. Would we welcome you again? If we can't find anyone better...

Excellent location and the cottage was so lovely. The staff in the retaurant were superb, very polite and helpful. Even our little dog was welcome inside. The location on the island is perfevt for exploring by car or just by walking across the beautiful countryside.
Will definitely be staying at the garlic farm again in the future. Would highly recommend it to friends and family
