It was really great we were 9 girls but I have also been with my family (numerous children ages )
the lounge kitchen bedrooms we amazing. But I would say the shower room could do with up grading and we had trouble with the dish washer
But over all we had a great time and Daniele was an amazing host. We hope to return soon

This was my second visit, but my first since Danielle and Tom took over. Danielle is a wonderful host, we spoke via email and over the phone when I got lost in the dark. She also text me to tell me there was a good chance of aurora the second night of our stay. She is currently renovating and clearly has passion and is proud of what she has done so far.
We stayed in Rowan, which we were informed is having its glow up next year, as a group of six women just wanting to switch off. It was clean, comfortable and the views were spectacular. There were some basics left for us, tea, coffee etc; plus some welshcakes which was a nice touch.
Having access to a fire stick is wonderful, however the internet is a little unreliable. Bear this in mind if you are reliant on it for entertainment. We didn’t miss it at all and were more than happy listening to music and playing games.
Hot tubs and pool are spotless and well maintained.
Genuinely can’t wait to book again!

Lovely large house with large kitchen/dining area and sitting room overlooking the hills. Hot tub just outside with views of the hills.
Private courtyard including small lawn secure for those with dogs and small children.
Only problem in the kitchen was the oven shelves did not fit properly as we discovered when trying to cook dinner for 9.
Two double bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, the rest of the beds (a double and two twins in one room, a single in another) down a steep flight of stairs. Pity there is no bathroom on this level.
Not far from Pen Y Fan and other hill walking areas. We did not try any of the more local walks, but at least one looked a bit overgrown at the start.

We have been staying at Vale Farm for 6 years, sometimes twice a year in fortnightly chunks. It’s like a home to us know. We adore everything about the place: The area, the views, the pool, the hot tub, the friendly helpful owners. My only gripe is that it’s getting increasingly difficult to book!

This was our second stay at Vale Farm Cottages and we love it so much we will be definitely returning. It was lovely to meet the owners who have great plans to upgrade the cottages next year and ongoing. Such lovely people and Danielle was so helpful setting up the room combinations for our large party. Again, because the accommodation is so safe you instantly relax and are stress free. Our family ages range from 1 year to 63 years and everyone of us enjoyed every minute of our stay.

We had an absolutely brilliant time at Vale Farm Cottages. We booked 2 lodges and they were both wonderful. The location was excellent, lovely and quiet with great walks nearby but also within driving distance to Brecon which was very handy. The indoor pool and the hot tub were delightful and the kids had an absolute blast in the pool. The owner Danielle was so friendly and accommodating, she was lovely to talk to and just really helpful throughout! Cannot recommend Vale Farm enough, it was ideal and we will definitely be back at some point.

As two families going on holiday together, Vale Rowan was ideal. With four bedrooms and a sofa bed, everyone could be accommodated. The living room was a beautiful meeting space- the views were an absolute treat!! The kitchen was lovely and spacious and well-equipped. Our hot tub was a welcome asset and the children enjoyed visiting the pool each day. We also went on two of the farm walks and were lucky enough to visit the lambs. Just had a lovely stay at Vale Farm with family and the dog in Rowan cottage. Panoramic views across the sheep farm towards Pen-Y-Fan were stunning and changed all the time. Loads to do in the local area and even if the weather was changeable the comfortable house and private pool/hot tub meant it was always easy to get warm and cosy!

Host Danielle couldn't have been more helpful and we have already booked to come again next year in May - hoping for brighter days and even more clear dark skies too to enjoy with the telescope a bit more!

Rowan was spacious and had a great view, it was good value for money but some things were not 5/5.
The negatives are the bed we slept in, (one of the doubles). They are link beds so have an uncomfortable ridge in the middle, not ideal on a romantic getaway and the mattresses are very soft.
The kitchen is a great size but some of the equipment had to be washed up before we used it. There were no sets of glasses either, only a handful of mixed wine glasses and no champagne flutes. The oven is small, we were cooking Christmas dinner for 7 people and had to ask to borrow baking trays and foil (which were immediately supplied).
The lounge is comfortable with an outstanding view but it needs a table, nowhere to put your drinks or play a game.
The only shower has a broken holder so you had to hold the shower and wash with one hand. The over head shower (big one at the top) was an option but the ladies don’t always want to wash their hair ;).
The hot tub has a stunning view. The only problem is on a three night stay it didn’t heat up. I understand the water has to be changed in between guests but it was the main reason we chose Rowan and we could only stay in it for a very short time because it wasn’t hot. I believe it was at 35c on the Friday night and 37c on the Saturday. The Sunday we used the main pool and hot tub which were great, but obviously not the private hot tub we had paid extra for.
Overall, if you’re looking for a safe, warm cottage with stunning views I would recommend. 4/5. These small things could easily be fixed.
I would stay again and the new owners I’m sure will be keen to learn and rectify these small issues.

Thank you for your review and honesty. It is good for us to know these issues as being here only a matter of weeks we can put right some of these things, especially the glasses and champagne flutes. We don't know about some of these issues until they are pointed out to us so we thank you for that. In regards to the hot tub, the hot tub has to be changed between guests and the previous guests checked out at 10am that day- it then takes 20 minutes to empty and clean and then an hour to refill- which is refilled with a mix of hot and cold water to try and make the heating process quicker. It then can take up to 8 hours to heat to temperature. When I saw you that evening it was at 34 degrees if memory serves me correctly, the recommended temperature is 37 so not far off. When I checked the levels in the morning the hot tub was set at 35 and was to that temperature so would never have got any hotter. When I turned it on the Friday morning it was set to 38. I turned it up to 37 on the Saturday morning so it was at the correct temperature that evening. The hot tub is included in the price of Rowan and isn't an added extra. In regards to the shower we are aware it was broken and will be replaced but the whole unit needs to be replaced as you cannot purchase the small part separately, we are sorry it was a nuisance. We are also aware the some of the beds need replacing, the super king bed is advertised as a zip and link so unfortunately that comes with the ridge in the middle, which we are aware isn't the best but is something that came with the business and we haven't been able to rectify yet but it is on our list. Vale Rowan is the absolute perfect holiday cottage for our family. It comfortably and
accommodates our 3 dogs, mum with limited ability and adult children who often drop in on us for part of our stay.
The fencing around the property is tiny dog proof, an enormous asset for us.
The luxury of being able to have a session in a hot tub while enjoying the most fabulous views the Beacons have to offer can’t be overstated.
We have stayed in this cottage twice a year for several years and look forward to continuing to do so.
The new owners have taken over the running of the cottages seamlessly and I can thoroughly recommend a stay here.

We had an excellent mountain biking trip to the area, 13 men staying at three of the properties. Everyone commented how comfortable the houses were, in particular lots of warmth and hot water. We had a wonderful stay here....plenty of room for everyone. The laminated information sheets left in the property were very useful. There is a washing machine, clothes line, hairdryers and iron all at the property too.
The views are just amazing. The swimming pool and hot tub were a lot of fun.
You feel in the middle of nowhere, yet a 10-15min drive away you will find shops (fish and chips, indian, Morrisons etc)
We ventured out most days and this was the perfect location for us as a base.
My only constructive criticisms is that some of the sofas are starting to look a little tired and worn, and the flies that were coming into the property were a bit of a nuisance (not sure what you could do about the flies though)
Thank you for a wonderful stay, we would recommend to others and would definitely return.

There were 7 of us at the Rowan, the location was beautiful and waking up to looking over the valleys and fields each morning was lovely! The private hot tub was well used, even in the rain!
Just a couple of things we thought needed improving (mattresses were too soft, swimming pool was very cold, we felt that the main bathroom should have had a shower over the bath not just a shower in the boot room) but we still had an amazing stay and would recommend to friends and family.

We had an amazing time staying at Vale Rowan this year. This is our second time here in the tranquil countryside. We had a group of 7 plus a child with a few dogs and everything as spectacular. We had some treats, a water bowl, towel and poo bags left when we arrived which we appreciated and the walks in the area were lovely.

The accommodation was lovely and immaculate when we got there all of a quality finish. It was just what we wanted, an escape and catch up with the bonus of our own hot tub with the accommodation which we stayed in.

We loved it so much that we have already booked again next year. Can’t wait to return.

This was our 4th time at Vale Farm. We hire all the cottages with our family and enjoy quality time together in perfect surroundings. The kids love the swimming pool and space to run around having fun together in a safe environment. Emma and family are always very helpful, and on hand if needed. We look forward to next year

Vale Rowan cottage is located in a beautiful place with amazing landscape .
Very appealing as is private as well and with private hot tub.

Nice cottage with big kitchen and well equipped ,beds good sizes and plenty of them.

The house is not very modern but we didn't looked for that as we rely enjoyed the vintage style.

This was our 2nd visit to Vale Farm cottages and we had a lovely relaxing family holiday, the cottage was comfortable and in a perfect location. The children all loved the pool and our own private hot tub was an added bonus. We will be back!!

As there was a large group of us we hired out all the cottages for the same week and it worked really well.
As the weather was quite wet having the pool and both hot tubs there was always something to do (especially for the kids). The location was fantastic and the standard of accommodation was very high. The owners were friendly and approachable.

We had a perfect relaxing time together which was very much needed. Emma and Andrew, as always, made us very welcome.
Sitting in the hotel tub at night watching the abundance of stars in the perfect dark sky location, was amazing.

This is a beautiful cottage very well equipped, the only negative is that it wasn't as clean as I would of expected especially in our current climate. The stairs had not seen a hoover in a very long time and there was dog hairs everywhere. Before we arrived with our dog (who doesn't shed) one of the beds was covered in hair. Also in the kitchen there are a couple of uneven tiles in the kitchen which we all tripped over on a daily basis whilst carrying a 6month old baby anybody elderly staying there it could be very dangerous so once fixed would not be a problem. The private hot tub was lovely and the views from it are lovely. Bbq equipment is all there and ready to use unfortunately it had not been cleaned from previous owners so had to clean it before we used it. The pool is lovely at present works on a booking system we could book an hour and a half spot everyday which we found worked really well for our family so there was only us in it. Never really saw the owners around the place to book a farm tour which we would have liked to have done but we could have tried harder with this to get in contact with the owner. Had a lovely relaxing time at this cottage would recommend for anybody with children as there is a play park aswell which we could see from our windows and the cottage is enclosed so could let the kids run about in the garden with no fear of them wandering off.

We always holiday at Vale Farm. It’s the perfect place for a family gathering, Vale Rowan, with a huge kitchen and adjoining sun room overlooking the Beacons. All home comforts are provided, bath, additional shower room, utility room with washing machine and full size fridge freezer. The resident owners are lovely, friendly people - always available if necessary. I am returning again this year and have already booked for next year. Even our dogs love it here, I can’t wait to return.

Location is fantastic- nothing but views for miles with a lovely little village with restaurants etc 15mins away.
Facilities are fantastic- a warm pool which you can privately book, little park and field for the little ones (which you can see from the cottage) and a hot tub. Very well fitted kitchen, WiFi, TV. What more can you need?
We went for my hubby’s 40th, we was suppose to be going Lapland but with the pandemic our plans had to change, absolutely no regrets going here. We will definitely be going back. (Maybe with friends or other family members who can have their own cottage, holiday together but with our own space). X

If you’re looking for a quiet getaway, somewhere to sit, relax and take in stunning views then this place is for you.
Lovely fresh decor, huge kitchen with everything you could possibly need, a boot room for wet and muddy coats and boots, plenty of bedrooms and the most amazing views from the sitting room. Kids absolutely loved the pool and play park and the adults loved the hottub!

This was our first time away as a family of 6 (including the dog) and got to stay it surpassed our expectations! We stayed at Rowan cottage, and the children were ecstatic to be welcomed by the lovely donkeys, goats and sheep. Everything was top notch & had all necessities including a cot & high chair. All booking and enquiries were simple and staff extremely kind & helpful. The view from the cottage was spectacular, we were blown away. Thank you so much!

We had the most amazing time at Vale Cottage in late August. Perfect setting, spacious accommodation and views to feed the soul. This is a great cottage with a huge communal kitchen and amazing 360 degree views. The private hot tub is an added bonus and we loved seeing the various animals roaming happily: a donkey, a pair of loved up goats, lots of lambs, cows, ducks and pheasants. We were able to easily get a taxi/mini-bus to a great local pub for £20 each way for 9 of us. The cottage is only a short drive into Brecon and we will look to stay here again.

This is the perfect cottage for us. Spacious, really well equipped- two fridges a freezer, washing machine, bath and shower rooms. All essential easily forgotten items like dishwasher tablets, washing machine detergent, salt and pepper are provided. I nice touch was some welsh biscuits waiting for us on arrival next to 2 new bottles of hand sanitizer (we were the first clients in the cottage following shutdown for COVID-19).
The luxury of the hot tub and security of very sound fencing to keep our little dogs in, while able to get outside were the icing on the cake. We loved it so much we’re going back again in 43 days!

we love the area with the peace and the panoramic views. swimming pool is a great feature with an adjoining hot tub. Rowan benefits from it's own hot tub and private garden which was great especially with dogs as they are secure. play area is clean and tidy and really large for a good run around.
Plenty of fresh countryside air.
the owners are on hand and brilliant, really nice people.

We had a fantastic week away with the family. We actually hired all 6 cottages. They were all clean, the beds were super comfy, each cottage was well equipped and safe for the children. The hot tubs and swimming pool were a great addition. The outdoor space was amazing and we were lucky enough to have the weather so we could really make the most of it. We couldn't fault our stay and would certainly recommend any (all) of the cottages. We made some lovely memories in a beautiful place! Thank you.

We had a fantastic week in Rowan at Vale Farm in the Brecon Beacons.
We were part of a big group with adults and kids and the accommodation worked perfectly for us all. We particularly enjoyed the pool, hot tub and kids play areas available for everyone’s use.
Rowan was great for the dog as there was a garden area that was secure. Please note this house has a small double, twin, room with four beds and interconnecting single so was fine for two families.
We definitely hope to return soon.

We had an amazing holiday with 3 adults, 5 children and our labrador. The cottage was comfortable, clean and well equipt. The location and views were beautiful especially from our living room in Vale Rowan, where we enjoyed watching new baby lambs appear by the day. A delightful away from everything spot for a weekend of Aunties and nieces n nephews. Swimming pool glorious. Great facilities at pool too. Lovely wide open views and just totally surrounded by gorgeous countryside. Warm and comfortable, plenty of extra bedding we had no need for cos its well insulated. A beautiful setting providing us with a perfect place to celebrate a family member 30'th birthday. Pool was bigger than expected and very well equipped. Wish the lower level had a toilet or shower room but we managed for a weekend. Also wish checkout was later than 10. Not long enough for weekend stay. Otherwise perfect.

We visited as a family of 8 ( Monday to Friday), the cottage was very spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Emma and staff were amazing, check in and check out was smooth and staff were available throughout the break. The whole facility was fantastic from the animals, swimming pool, children's area and long walks. The setting is beautiful, very peaceful with beautiful views. A very relaxing break. We would highly recommend a stay here and will most definitely be returning.
