Having decided to stay-cation this year and having had several years of family holidays at Rhos Ddu in the 70s, my mum and I were delighted with our holiday at Rhos Ddu this year.
The farmhouse/cottage has been beautifully updated and extended, with a new kitchen and modernised bathroom and ensuite, since we were last there 40 years ago, but it still retains many of the old features that I remembered and that bring such warmth, familiarity and cosiness. The cottage was clean and tidy everywhere and felt very safe, which is vital in these Covid times.

We have had many holidays on the Lleyn peninsula in North Wales and this is the second time we have stayed in one of the Rhos Country Cottages. Rhos Wen`is ideally located for both the beaches of the south coat of the peninsula and Snowdonia national park. The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival and is very well equipped. It is a very comfortable cottage. A small problem with the boiler was rapidly rectified after reporting it to the owner.
Our long-awaited holiday/retreat more than met expectations.
Hendre Farmhouse was so well renovated that it was a taste of luxury. No lack of bath/shower rooms, appliances, rooms to meet or be private in. Its grounds were a delight and so private and safe for our little grandsons aged 3 and 1. Calves even came to see us through the fence as we barbecued or had a little tea party!
The location was so good - rural but so near to the sea and so much choice: Criccieth, PorthMadog, Abersoch, Barmouth (on the train) were the ones we sampled.
