Thanks again to Anwen for another wonderful stay at Rhos Wen - only a long weekend this time, wish we could have stayed longer, but looking forward to hopefully visiting again in the Spring/Summer.

Although the weather was wet and windy, we managed to still get out and about for a good walk and the cottage was lovely and warm when we returned. Great facilities and enjoyed watching the variety of different birds that come to visit.

We've stayed here for many years and have never been dissatisfied, the Bungalow is always ready and presented to a very high standard.
It has a large entrance hall leading to a well equipped kitchen, the front room is very comfortable with all the home comforts. It has 3 large bedrooms one with ensuite with sauna, and again very comfortable. It's a really nice home from home and we're always made very welcome.

This was our 3rd visit to Rhos Wen property. The property is spotless and ample space for our family of 4. The garden is amazing and we enjoyed our nightly game of Badminton. The location is perfect for us as quiet but within distance of lots of activities: Ffestiniog railway, Black Rock sands, Caernarfon castle, and Zip world for the Fforest Coaster all easy drives. Our favourite cafe in Criccieth (blue one on sea front) had a few visits. We love this property, the cows that visit and the sheep behind. It's a tranquil place but the children can safely go mad in the garden.

Our fourth or fifth stay, and surely that says it all! Such a wonderful spot- quiet, peaceful, idyllic surroundings, yet just a short drive into Criccieth. It’s an ideal spot for any, and all ages, with a great outside area for children to play as well as a good sitting-out area. The cottage was, as always, spotlessly clean and is very well equipped. Anwen is a wonderful host, and deals with any problem quickly and efficiently. There are many great places to eat, but special mention for The Goat, and for Poachers in Criccieth. Booking ahead advised.
Already counting down to return to Rhos Wen next year.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Rhos Wen. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable, the perfect place to chill out (especially before Christmas) The cottage looked very festive with the Christmas Tree/decorations, and even though it was cold outside, we were lovely and warm inside in the cottage.

Looking forward to staying again in the Summer.

We've been to the bungalow many times now and we're never disappointed, it's a real home from home.
You can see that great care is taken in its presentation, it always makes our stay very comfortable and relaxed.
If there is anything you need or want to ask advice about things to do then Anwen is always on hand to help or sort out and problem's that may occur.
If your looking for a lovely quiet stay and dark skies then look no further, there is always plenty of things to do and lot's of very nice places to visit.

See you next year.

We stayed in the Rhos Wen cottage as a family of six (plus a dog) and absolutely loved it. The cottage is very well equipped, clean and tidy with a lovely indoor log burner for those chilly evenings.
We have two children (7 and 9) who left after a week stay saying that it was the sort of place they would love to live one day and when can we come back.
Although in the middle of the countryside it is close enough to a number of create attractions and shops for supplies etc. We spent each day exploring a different part of the surroundings, seeing castles, animal parks and childrens fun parks. It was very well situated for all of these things and we saw more than enough in our week to leave culture full yet relaxed.
The country lanes made a wonderful departure from our normal running routes and we enjoyed exploring the immediate area on foot and never felt ill at ease either due to drivers and traffic on the roads or safety in general.
Anwen is an amazing hostess and is always available with a personal touch.
We will definitely be back for a breath of Welsh country air in the future!

Our third stay, next one booked, and already looking forward to staying . Surely that says it all! The cottage is very clean, spacious and well equipped. Great for a couple or family. In a fantastic location- very quiet and peaceful, but only a 10 minute or so drive into Criccieth. Lovely gardens and outlook. Anwen is a wonderful host, and nothing is too much trouble.

Rhoas Wen is a comfortable pleasant house in a lovely peaceful location. This was our third (or possibly fourth !) stay in Rhos Wen and we have stayed with family in the other Rhos cottages too over many years which I think indicates how highly we rate the cottages and love the area. We would not hesitate to recommend both the area and the cottages to anyone looking for great accomodation in beautiful scenery. .

The house and location were great. The house was very nice and had everything we needed. It was very well kitted out with plenty of kitchen equipment and games which we enjoyed playing. The only minor problem was the bedding, we found the covers very slippery, they kept falling off both ours and the kids beds. The garden is amazing, great for a bbq and playing games outside but also very peaceful. Criccieth is lovely, we enjoyed the beach and walks nearby. I would definitely recommend the house and would love to return.

We stayed at Rhos Wen as a family of 4. The property is in such an idyllic location. Our sat nav took us straight there but Anwen sent detailed instructions as well. We met her later that day and she's so friendly. Our 8 year old and 4 year loved watching the sheep and cows every day. There's everything you need there. Black Rock Sands beach and Ffestiniog Railway were our favourite day trips and only a few miles away. As an extra bonus Tesco deliver there! We are already planning a return visit next year. North Wales was a great hit and finding this gem of a holiday property was perfect.

An absolutely lovely bungalow set amidst the beautiful North Wales countryside. Our dogs loved the garden and we spent many hours with friends on the sun drenched patio. It was very comfortable and home from home with the Portmeirion china. Nothing could have been improved and we shall definitely visit again.

We spent a week at Rhos Wen during the hottest week on record and the cottage stayed comfortably cool, especially the main en-suite bedroom which faces North. The location is so quiet and peaceful it was a pleasure to come home after each days’ sightseeing.
This well equipped cottage is perfectly placed for visiting Snowdonia, the Lleyn Peninsula and the isle of Anglesey. Anwen was a lovely host who made sure everything was ok without being at all intrusive.
We would recommend staying in Rhos Wen to anyone looking for a get away from it all holiday. (One note of caution, the internet is only good enough for picking up the odd email - not working or downloading films, etc, which was fine for us.).

We really enjoyed our stay at Rhos Wen. It is a beautiful, characterful cottage and we were very comfortable there. Anwen has attention for every detail of a self-catering cottage, so the bedding was very comfortable, the modern kitchen was well-equipped and the bathrooms are clean and modern too. We also loved the very spacious garden.

This was our first trip to the Llyn Peninsula and we wish we had discovered it before because it is a lovely combination of beaches and mountains, in close proximity to each other. We found plenty of things to do during our holiday, and there are many outings we didn't have time to do.

The nearby town, Criccieth, is very pretty and has some great places to eat, including Cadwaladers for an ice cream parlour by the sea.

Would we return to Rhos Wen? Definitely!

A lovely peaceful and quiet rural location. The bungalow which was spacious had been someone's home and was very comfortable. An ideal base to tour North Wales. Criccieth and Porthmadoc were close by with three large supermarkets in Porthmadoc as well as its scenic harbour and narrow gauge railways. Criccieth was very pretty with castle and a great restaurant called Dylans.
Further a field was Caernarfon worth a visit and now it has a by-pass making it easier to get to Anglesey.
There is another detached holiday let property nearby but does not in any way intrude on the bungalow. Mrs Jones lives on a near by farm and is there if needed, but everything worked so wasn't called on.

A beautiful home in beautiful surroundings. So quiet and peaceful, with cattle and sheep as neighbours.
Very well kept, and equipped, and Anwen is an ideal host, so friendly and helpful.We have our third stay booked, and I’m certain we will be returning for many more.

Rhos Wen is a great place to get away from it all and into the Welsh countryside, whilst also being within 10-15 minutes drive of places such as Criccieth and Porthmadog. The house was well appointed and well presented on arrival and we had no problem settling in immediately. A comfortable bed, a hot shower and an en-suite sauna - great! Plenty of space in the kitchen / diner, with a large lounge and good size bedrooms. Overall, we had a wonderful break and would definitely return in the future.

We had a wonderful week as always at Rhos Wen.
Lovely quiet setting and a beautiful bungalow. We did lots of walking during our stay, on the coastal path and in Snowdonia. Anglesey is within easy reach, we spent a lovely day there walking.

Had a good meal at The Square in Tremadog and a takeaway from the Sea view Cafe in Borth-y-gest as well as a very good lunch there one day too. As usual last night Fish and Chips from the chip shop in Criccieth.
Looking forward to our next visit.

Rhos Wen is a very clean and comfortable bungalow cottage in an exceptionally peaceful rural location. It is well-equipped, with a large, neat and private garden. Sunny and private outdoor seating area. Ample parking space for two cars. A good base for exploring the Llyn Peninsula, and within easy enough reach of the Snowdonia mountains. There are walks from the cottage itself if you don't want to drive every day. We enjoyed a walk to the sea and back - around 10 miles, but there are shorter walks if that is too far for you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Exactly what was prescribed after a horrible year . Tranquil, scenic , comfy ,spacious and beautifully equipped Rhos Wen. Sun shone for the whole week. The cottage was so lovely but the garden is affray with squirrels, nuthatch, blue birds and far to many Robins to count. A week that will live in our memory for a long time. It was perfect .Anwen the perfect host as always ( we have stayed Rhos Ddhu previously) .

This was our first time using Rhos country cottages and it won’t be our last, in fact we have booked again for a winter break .Rhos wen is lovely accommodation that is well appointed in a beautiful location yet not far from local amenities.On the last day of our holiday we went to madryn arm in chwilog I would highly recommend. All in all a lovely holiday and we can’t wait to return.Also we received a lovely welcome on arrival from Anwen.

We had a wonderful week at Rhos Wen and were so lucky to have amazing weather. The cottage was clean, tidy and comfortable and we had a very warm welcome from Anwen. Rhos Wen is well positioned to reach a range of local attraction's easily.

We enjoyed ourselves so much we've already booked for next year!

We stayed for one week at Rhos Wen cottage in July 2021. The cottage is well-equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, oven, hobs, microwave, etc. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable, and well-presented. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The location is great for exploring Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula (by car). It is a tranquil countryside location (albeit one can hear the sounds of the cows and sheep in the fields next to the cottage). There is ample space for parking cars and there is also a large garden area.

Even in these uncertain times, we had a warm welcome, the house was so very inviting and comfortable. Cleanliness was spot on.
The position is great, out of the way, but not far from shops/ eateries.

We have had many holidays on the Lleyn peninsula in North Wales and this is the second time we have stayed in one of the Rhos Country Cottages. Rhos Wen`is ideally located for both the beaches of the south coat of the peninsula and Snowdonia national park. The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival and is very well equipped. It is a very comfortable cottage. A small problem with the boiler was rapidly rectified after reporting it to the owner.

Recently returned from a lovely stay at this bungalow. The host, Anwen, was really friendly and ensured we were settled in on our arrival.
The peace and quiet surrounding the home was fantastic and we loved playing rugby and Frisbee in the garden. It's a great base from which to explore the beautiful Llyn Peninsula. We would certainly consider staying at Rhos Wen again.

Rhos Wen is a modern bungalow with a very modern Kitchen fitted with excellent appliances – just like home. Bedrooms, Bathrooms and showers are fitted to the same high standards. The Lounge is furnished in a more traditional style and there are beams in the ceiling and a bespoke slate fireplace giving the cottage a homely ambience. Putting these two aspects together you get the best of both worlds – traditional style and the mod cons we take for granted in the 21st Century.
The bungalow is located along a secluded lane and there is one additional property on the site. Both properties have a substantial area of garden and there is a beech hedge between them – you are not overlooked but not completely isolated. On one side of your garden there is a field where cows are free to roam; the other side of the garden is a field where sheep are free to graze. As you sit on the paved, sheltered patio all you will hear are the songs of the birds, the animals who are your neighbours and if you can keep still you may see a lone hare hopping across your lawn.
The appeal of Rhos Wen to me is the home comforts it provides – yes wi-fi is one of them if you cannot bear to be parted from your tech – and the chance to experience the countryside – a chance to smell the roses and gaze at the not so lazy sheep and cows!

Just stayed over Easter weekend and what a fantastic, peacefull location. Cottage is big and very clean, has everithing you need. 10 min drive to the beach and 20-30 min to Snowdon, Criccieth and Portmerion. Sauna in master bedroom, barbeque facilities in big garden. Wonderful views and walks. Highly recomended !

This is the second time my family and I have stayed at Rhos When cottage. Both times we were delighted with the standard of accommodation and the service. The cottage is kept immaculately and has all mod cons. The standard of furnishing and equipment is high and the cleanliness of the property as good as you would hope. The location is one of secluded bliss. We were looking for peace and quiet and couldn't have found a better location. No sound of traffic can be heard, even though the town of Criccieth is a short drive away. We were genuinely sorry to leave the cottage both times we have stayed and I can say for sure we will be returning.

We have visited Rhos Wen many times over the yeas, during both the Winter time and also Spring/Summer, each stay is just as wonderful as the last. The layout of the cottage is perfect and is well equipped with all the necessary amenities.

We especially love the tranquility of the place and enjoy the variety of wild birds, especially in Spring & Summer.

Rhos Wen is an excellent example of a perfected place to stay and unwind or explore wales, we arrived to find a beautiful bungalow presented at a very high standard and very well equipped.

We soon settled in and started enjoying our holiday and having such a great bungalow to call home for a week was very much appreciated, the wood burner is a lovely bonus, we had great fun playing the board games which amused us most evenings. There is lovely portmeirion table ware and the kitchen is very well set out. The rooms are all a great size and presented beautifully…...the grounds to the bungalow are a good size which provides plenty of safe play for children. I can’t praise Anwen enough for the high standards she keeps.

We all enjoyed our stay so much that we booked for next year before our departure and looking forward to next year already.

Rhos Wen is a modern cottage in a very rural setting – no street lights near here! There is a tarmac drive from the road and apart from one other cottage your neighbours should you see them will be sheep and cows. The whole setting is quiet, peaceful and very relaxing.
The cottage has a spacious central entrance hall with all the other rooms adjoining. There is a modern well fitted kitchen and diner, a comfortable and cosy well-furnished lounge with log burner, slate built-in fire place and wooden beams. There are three large bedrooms – one with en suite and sauna.
Rhos Wen has a large, well-maintained garden with plenty of grassy areas, some natural shade, a paved patio area with chairs, table and sun-shade. Climbing roses and summer planting add colour and a homely feel.
Mrs Jones always makes sure that everywhere is very clean and tidy with towels provided and beds made up. We have visited this cottage annually for over twenty years. It is a home from home and is ideal for anyone who wants a relaxing break with the opportunity to explore this part of North Wales.

We could not fault our stay,only the narrow lane which was no-body's fault.
I do the sole driving at the moment as my husband has a problem due to a bungled hospital op!

Great to have a bathroom next to his bedroom.
Much space so good to get around.
Parking good so could load up the wheelchair with little hassle.
Great attention to detail, could just have found a stool in the bathroom useful,but that is only us perhaps.
Needed somewhere to put things on for use on the washbasin. But it's just a little thing.
We improvised with a bedroom chair.

We had an excellent time whilst we were on holiday and the weather was so good which always makes a difference. The bungalow/cottage was absolutely superb and very peaceful - with everything that you could possibly want, and it was immaculately clean, tidy and comfortable. The owners were so hospitable and caring - nothing was too much trouble - it made our stay so pleasant. We would most definitely return for another visit as there is so much to see and do in this beautiful area of Wales - we did not even manage half of what we wanted to see. We would highly recommend this property to anyone.

We have been using Rhos cottages for well over 15 years, and visit twice a year, and last year we also spent Xmas at Rhos Wen.
The large rooms and comfortable furnishings provide a pleasurable stay. The large garden and the excellent views from the bungalow is always a delight, whatever the weather, especially if there are animals in the adjoining fields.
Anwen always visits on the day of arrival to ensure that everything is ok, and responds very quickly if we need her, although this is rare. I couldn't recommend Rhos cottages more highly

Just returned from another lovely week staying in Rhos Wen, this was our second stay this year. I absolutely love this place so peaceful, a place to go to get away from everything and relax. Our dogs love it, and it's only a 15 minute drive to some beautiful beaches and local amenities. Rhos When is very well equipped and Anwen is always there if you need her. I highly recommended.
