We parked the car and didn’t use it until we left. Accommodation was ideal, location perfect, five minutes to beach, and amenities first class. Everywhere was dog friendly, and the locals were so welcoming. The Fisherman’s return, local pub, was very dog friendly.

We were really comfortable at Beachcomber. The living areas downstairs were lovely, light and airy with plenty of space. Upstairs the bedrooms were really comfortable. Situated in the village, it was an easy stroll to the shops and the pub. So nice to be able to take the dogs straight up onto the dunes. Owner Rachel took care to check that we and our dogs were settled in and that everything was OK for us.

I absolutely love staying at Beachcomber, including the lovely welcome pack, it has everything you could possibly need on your holiday. Rachel is a great host, good communication throughout. Highly recommend. Will be back to this delightful village, my favourite ❤️

Had a lovely week stay. Cottage had everything we needed. Our large Labrador loved his daily walk to the beach and enjoyed his swims in the sea. Village was so welcoming to dogs. So many walks to do and plenty to see. If you get a chance do the climb to the top of the church tower, amazing views.

Great location accommodates dogs.Outside space adequate NO grass, some grass would be ideal. Cottage comfy and well equipped. If you like to cook frying pans tired in need of refresh. Would recommend to family and friends and would definitely return again. Village quiet with two pub/restaurants and post office with poppys cafe. Food store for essentials. Fish and chip shop. Lovely beach with cafe and toilets. The sand dunes are amazing, dogs loved exploring.

Beachcomber is a great location for one of Norfolk's best beaches at Winterton-on-Sea. This was our first family holiday with our baby and golden retriever. The house was really clean and comfortable with lots of space. There was a really nice welcome basket of goodies, including dog treats. They really do ensure your dog is treated as a guest, not just the pet you are bringing along on your holiday. The beach is literally a 5 minute walk away, it's massive and usually very quiet. The amenities in the town are very good. We visited the local cafe, pub, and got quality fish and chips on our last evening.

Finally, the communication and instructions from our host was excellent and we would have no hesitation about visiting again in the future.

We had the loveliest long weekend at Beschcomber. Garden was super secure for our German Shepherd an so close to the gorgeous quiet beach.
Rachel was a fabulous host and gave us loads of useful information in the welcome pack.
There was even snacks left for the dog!
Highly recommended

Lovely stay at Beachcomber last week. Weather was kind and we did lots of walking. We ate at Fishermans Return. Kings Arms Fleggburgh (Sunday lunch, booking vital), Gunton Arms( again booking vital), Kings Arms Martham, Nelson’s Head, Horsey, which was MUCH further than expected and The Lighthouse at Happisburgh. All highly recommended and very dog friendly. Went on a great boat trip from Martham dockyard with Ross. Very knowledgeable and funny, saw lots of birds and butterflies. Cottage was fabulous, absolutely everything we needed and Rachel kept in touch too. All in all another fantastic ERC break. Little Terns and Ring Plovers hatching on Winterton beach and hundreds of seals at Horsey

We had a very comfortable stay at Beachcomber and were so pleased to find somewhere that really was dog friendly. Close to the dunes and the sea with other lovely walks around too. The accommodation was as described and the quirky stair gate worked a treat to stop my golden retriever from the upstairs ( even though he was allowed )

We had a lovely week in Beachcomber for the week, perfect location and lovely welcome basket full of goodies. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable, everything you need was thought of, the garden is very secure for dogs. The beds upstairs have to be the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in and very big. All adults and dogs had the best time thank you

Lovely property - with a good layout, especially the eating area adjoining the kitchen. Stairs not too steep for dogs too. Warm, comfortable beds, hot water great, and shower excellent. Kitchen well stocked with ample room in fridge freezer. Great access to pub, shop and fish & chip shop. We also used the secure dog field a short drive away in the evening so Lola could get a run around after we arrived. Pretty good access to dunes. Our dog is a little nervous with strangers and other dogs so we had to check the short distance was clear as there are many dog walkers out and about, even early on. This is our second stay in Winterton and was the favourite of the properties we've stayed at. We had to skip our first day but still enjoyed our time and made the most of it. Am sure we will be back.

Brilliant cottage - very comfortable and clean. Very dog friendly with plenty of throws for the sofas and lots of doggie (and human) extras. The location is great - the Winterton Dunes are at the end of the road and it is only a few minutes stroll to get to the wonderful dog friendly beach. There is a well stocked corner shop at the end of the road within a couple of minutes walk. The garden, although not grassed, was ideal for our dog. Communication with the owner was good and the online information booklet was really helpful to keep on the phone. My only disappointment was having to come home at the end of the holiday! Hope that we can return to Beachcomber at some point in the future.

We had a great time with our two dogs at this property, it’s a fantastic location with a short walk to the beach and The Fisherman’s Return, we have never seen so many seals on the beach in our life.

A lovely comfy cottage, fully equipped and super dog friendly. A home from home in a super village. The local pub did good food and allowed dogs. Well stocked convenience store at end of road. Endless local dog walks but we loved the dunes. Seal pups on the beach were a bonus. Great beaches all along the coast for a good run for the dogs. Loved it all.

If you just want to unwind this is the place to do so, minutes walk to the Dunes where you can walk miles then end up having a coffee at Seal view . Beachcomber has everything you need home from home.

A lovely, well appointed cottage just a couple of minutes walk to unspoilt dunes and beaches. The property was immaculately clean and provided everything needed for both human and four legged occupants. Beautiful walks moments from the doorstep as well as a corner shop, lovely pub and tea room. Less than 10 minutes drive to visit Horsey wind pump and beach, seeing the seals on the beach is a fabulous sight! We all had a great time and would love to come back again soon.

The choice of accommodation was based on finding somewhere happy to allow 3 dogs and for the dogs not to be restricted as it's their holiday too. Beechcomber met all these needs and more. We had the best family holiday in a fantastic location with walks, the sea, cafe, shop and pubs all close by and accessible. The accommodation was perfect, everything we needed was there and so thoughtfully prepared. I would recommend a stay at Beechcomber and hopefully will be back there again myself one day.

We had a fantastic stay at beachcomber a family of four with late teen/ adult children and our spaniel.
The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Well stocked games cabinet we had a couple of games of traditional monopoly!!
The location of Beachcomber was fantastic, the cottage has parking which was a bonus as there is limited places to park nearby in the village.
Five minute walk onto the beach at Winterton. Winterton beach was my favourite, walking the dog fairly early in the morning meant I was quite often the only person on the beach. Well apart from the seals bobbing their heads out the water, they were very inquisitive.
The village has a pub, village store ( very reasonably priced), fish and chip shop and tea room ( also serves as a bakery).
I would highly recommend staying at beachcomber - Rachel the owner was in touch prior to our holiday and as we arrived to ensue everything was in order.
This was really appreciated.
Norfolk has lots to offer, we had a very busy but fun filled week.
I would highly recommend staying at Beachcomber it’s their perfect base to explore beautiful Norfolk.

A really lovely cottage in the perfect location for walks on the dunes, beach and around the laid back village. The cottage is well equipped and welcoming. Very much appreciated the birthday fizz and, the fact that dogs are well catered for too. The only downside was the lack of privacy in the garden (due to the low wall/fence on one side). Thank you for making our week at Beachcomber so enjoyable!

Beachcomber is a beautiful cottage and in a great location to explore Winterton and the dunes. Our 13 year old arthritic labardor was unsure about the flooring in the kitchen/diner (we forgot to pack our non-slip runners) but she did finally get brave after 2 days. The kitchen/diner is huge and the house was quiet and great for relaxing. We also enjoyed sitting in the garden. The welcome pack was great and appreciated.

We had a great stay and enjoyed meals/snacks at Seal View, Poppy's Tearoom, Fisherman's Return, Winterton Fish & Chips, Poppylands Horsey and Dunes Cafe Waxham. We mostly mooched around the dunes and on the beach at Winterton. One day we went to Horsey Windpump and went on a boat trip with Ross' Wildlife Boat Trips, which we thoroughly enjoyed, the skipper was very informative and entertaining, we saw lots of different birds and Horsey Mere was so peaceful.

We had a brilliant stay at Beachcomber last week, the location was better than expected in terms of how close the house was to the dunes. Our 3 dogs lived the dunes walks. We will definitely be coming back

Beachcomber is a truly lovely cottage, nice and warm even without lighting the wood burner. The windows are big allowing lots of lovely natural light to filter in.
Beds were lovely and comfy and the bathroom massive ! The cottage has a fab location in Winterton, two minutes walk to the dunes and can walk to the local shop, the chippy, poppy’s tea room (dogs allowed) and the Fisherman’s Return pub.
Very quiet overnight even with windows open.
Garden perfect for dogs and Beachcomber nice and dog friendly. We all felt very at home, particularly Holly the Lab :)

What a lovely cottage, in a great location. Walking distance for the sandy dunes and the beach, just what is needed for a pleasant walk with your dogs. The Pub , The Fisherman’s Return is also in walking distance. Fish n chip shop and a shop, very close. Excellent!!!

Very dog friendly, great location, approximately 200 metres from the dunes and then a short walk to the beach. Outside hose to wash paws and even dog towels provided.
Comfortable, modern accommodation made for an enjoyable stay. Recommend the Fisherman's Return pub for meals and Poppys tea rooms for English breakfast. Both only a short walk away. This is our second visit to Winterton. The bonus this time were seeing the seals and pups on the beach. Wonderful.

Such a fantastic cottage in a lovely dog friendly location. Comfortable, well equipped cottage with a secure garden for the dogs. Towels and blankets provided for dogs alongside treats and bowls. The cottage is just a stones throw from miles of off lead walks across the dunes and beach. Such a peaceful location.

The cottage enjoys a superb location being only a few minutes walk to the beach. The cottage is well appointed although we did find the beds a little too soft for our liking. A great location for exploring the Broads and other coastal resorts.

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful little home. It is much bigger inside than expected and very comfortable for the 3 of us and 2 dogs. It is in a perfect location in a wonderful village, I have completely fallen in love with Winterton on Sea and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely stay here at Beachcomber cottage. Its a modernised cottage and there were helpful items for the holiday including the dog towels, dog bowls and oven gloves, washing up liquid and toilet rolls! The location is perfect if you just want to be able to walk down to the beach over the dunes with your dog, the beach is quiet and our dog had a wonderful time there leaping about like a goat on the first day he was so excited.
The garden is small and has no grass. As there is a lower fence on one side you will be seeing your next door neighbour should it be occupied. A few niggles are that the electric oven has no temperatures on it as they have worn away (similar for the hob) so a bit tricky to heat things up. The oven is fierce so its problematic when you can’t tell the temperature. The twin beds are narrow, it does state the size on the description but our young adult sons did find them small and too soft. The tv isn’t the best and could do with updating. We enjoyed our stay here but because of the niggles we wouldn’t go back to the same place. The village is nice and the chip shop is close and the food from there is delicious. The local premier shop is a bit grim the post office store is better. We liked Norfolk and especially liked the fact that our dog was welcome in the cottage and in the village where we saw many dogs and their owners.

Beachcomber is a lovely sympathetically restored cottage which is beautifully decorated throughout. The bed was super comfy and huge plenty of space to move around. All in all a very well equipped dog friendly property which we would definitely return to, Winterton is one of our favourite places in Norfolk so dog friendly throughout the village and a dog friendly beach year round. Rachel the owner checked in with us to ensure everything was ok, which was a nice touch. We loved the proximity of the cottage to the dunes, and it is less than a 5 minute walk to the fab pub The Fisherman’s Return and Poppy’s tearoom and village shop. We will be back,

We had a great week, the beach is a stone throw away, great pub and Poppy’s cafe is wonderful! Dog friendly too! Lovely friendly village. The house itself was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was powerful and hot water quickly. Kitchen well equipped and a nice size. Living room did not seat all 5 of us though, so not very comfortable for film night. I would also say downstairs bedroom is great for a child but a bit small for an adult. But all in all a great stay and the owner was fantastic about arranging a wheelchair for my mum, which we couldn’t have done without it for the week! So thank you for so much for that.

Lovely stay away from home, we all felt very welcome, dogs loved it. Beautiful location, short walk from the beach and we got to see Seals. Had breakfast at the Edge and frequented many tea shops, Dunes cafe at Waxham, Poppylands. Looking forward to our next stay

Our stay at beachcomber was lovely. The cottage is very well equipped and nicely decorated and in a great location for dog walking with the dunes at the end of the road. Location is also good for cafe, shops, pub and a fish and chip shop. The garden is fully enclosed so no worries about leaving the door open for my jack Russell Cross and there was everything she needed for her stay.

Wow! That just about sums Beachcomber up. A stylish, modern and super comfortable home from home in the most perfect location. Meters from the dunes and sea where you can walk for miles each day and a short stroll into the most wonderful peaceful and welcoming village. It's a relaxed pace pace of life in Winterton on Sea, far removed from the hustle and bustle and stress of daily life. The perfect home and location to unwind and relax with a pub, village store, tea room and fish & chip shop.
As for the dogs, well they have sulked since we've been home! East Ruston Cottages are more than your standard "dog friendly" and with them, the dogs come first and are welcomed with open arms. Treats, spare leads and bowls and comfy throws for the sofa are just some of the things you can expect. They are truly treated as part of the family and it's a holiday for them as much as the humans!
Already planning our next trip and wouldn't consider booking with anyone else.

We stayed here as a family for a special birthday and it was perfect. We were greeted with a lovely selection of goodies (human and dogs) and the house was nicely decorated and very clean. We were able to take all the dogs and have beautiful walks along the beach. My dog is disabled so the dunes were a perfect short distance for her to get to and enjoy the sea without having to walk too far to get there. There was an issue with hot water on arrival and the hosts came to fix it the first evening. We loved our stay and hope to be back in future.

Perfect for dog walking through the dunes and along the beach.
Winterton-on-sea is very quiet, but has all you need, including a lovely cafe that sells nice baked goods too, and a lovely pub. All areas are very dog friendly.
The Beachcomber is a lovely cottage, with all you need. A coffee machine would have been appreciated!

We’ve stayed in other dog friendly accommodation before only to find they aren’t really and are more correctly described as dog tolerant.
It was fabulous to find that Beachcomber really is properly dog friendly, they provided throws for sofas so the dogs could snuggle with us the way the do at home, there were dog bowls and a couple of towels by the back door for damp, post walk rub downs. Given all of this it was great to find that they also look after the humans too. The cottage was spotlessly clean, comfortable as well as being stylish. The owner sent a welcoming text on the day we arrived to make sure everything was ok & to offer help if we had any questions or problems (we didn’t everything was perfect).
We liked it so much that we had only been home 4 hours and we rebooked!

A very comfortable cottage, with everything you could possibly need and just a short walk across the dunes to the pristine and very quiet beach. Brilliant location for exploring the other towns and villages along the coast and the broads.
