We’ve stayed a few times at the Lookout and it feels like coming home! It’s extremely well appointed and decorated with all the mod cons you could need, although there is such a good selection of cafes/pubs/chippies around you dont really need to get the cooker dirty! The dogs love it here as they can sit in the garden and say hello to the very occasional passerby and of course the beach is fantastic at any time of year.
Hadn’t holidayed with both of our GSD before but this was the perfect place to stay. Accomodation and ameneties were to such a high standard with everything you could possibly need. The addition of a secure field to use throughout the stay was so welcome and lovely walks direct from the door. Would love to stay again soon and would highly recommended, the owners were lovely and communicative before and during the stay when we reached out to them.
Everything has been thought of, a really lovely cottage with great facilities for the dogs. We had a lovely relaxing time. Would highly recommend
Immaculate barn conversion with super secure high walled garden. Perfect for dogs. Great walks/run straight from the door and a 2min drive to the historic Walcott church and fabulous Walcott Dog Field. Sunsets are spectacular from the comfort of your picnic chair on the front lawn - highly recommended - don’t forget to take a bottle of your favourite tipple for the ultimate sunset experience. Very caring hosts. Friendly, sociable and respectful. Some lovely touches added to make our 25th wedding anniversary feel very special. Our 3 week stay was really enjoyable, too short, and we wer...more
Our 2nd stay at The Peanut didn't disappoint. We received a wonderful welcome pack and presents from our hosts Paul & Stella. It was fabulous to be back in Happisburgh Common for a peaceful, relaxing Beachmas (aka christmas) with long beach walks every day and listening for the Tawny Owls at night. Our 15 month old labrador had fun chasing the seafoam on the beaches at Walcott and Happisburgh and running through the dunes at Winterton, no runs on the beach there as the seals were in residence. We love the peace and tranquility of The Peanut and the onsite dog paddock is a bonus.
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was well equipped and the hamper was a nice gesture. Everything made our stay very comfortable.
The property is clean, comfortable and well equipped, including bowls and treats for a dog. It is obvious a lot of care has gone into making it a happy place to stay with books, games and a folder of useful information. I would say that although it sleeps 6 that might be a bit of a squash. There is on site parking and a fully enclosed garden including an outside seating area in a little sun trap with the sound of the sea in the background. The locals we met were all friendly rather than resenting holiday visitors. There is excellent communication from Robert before, during and after the vi...more
Had a lovely week at the immaculately presented Thatched Cottage. By far and away the nicest East Ruston dog friendly cottage we have stayed at. Hosts could not have done more for us. Roys is like an upmarket Waitrose and only a few steps away as are riverside walks and great eateries.
This was our second stay at Jack’s Shack and we’re already booked again for later in the year. The property is fabulous, absolutely everything you need is there from dog towels, throws, beds, bowls and spare leads to toiletries for the humans along with some of the essentials for food prep and storage. The location is perfect, the dunes are the back garden and it takes just a few minutes to walk across to the beach which is very quiet and dog friendly all year round. The cottage is on a back road which only really serves the row of cottages so next to no traffic and likewise through the villag...more
A beautiful barn with everything you will need for a wonderful stay. We had 4 lovely days here with our dog, extremely dog (and human) friendly, beautiful kitchen and bathrooms, comfy beds and pillows, garden fully fenced even for a tiny dog! Would love to book again!
Our second time here and even better than we remembered. Everything we needed was there. Near to lots of dog friendly beaches Happisburgh, Cart Gap and Sea Palling being our favourites, Winterton is a bit further but definitely worth it. We enjoyed a couple of circular walks from the cottage. Hope to return in the near future
We had such an incredible stay at Walnut Cottage it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, Paul and Stella made us feel so welcome; their warmth and hospitality instantly created a relaxed, home from home atmosphere. The cottage itself was beautiful, cosy, and perfectly equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One of the absolute highlights was the hot tub looking over the countryside there’s nothing better than unwinding in it after a day out, surrounded by such peaceful surroundings. Everything about our visit felt special, from the thoughtful to...more
This was a return visit since my first to salty sea dog in Easter. Neither time disappointed. The lodge has absolutely everything you could need, and the location is just perfect. The beds are super comfy, and there is plenty of room for our 3 big dogs to chill out after a long swim Contact from the host was really detailed and kept us updated when an earlier arrival was available. And the welcome hampers were lovely. Thank you again for another lovely stay. I will definitely be back soon
Excellent location 5 minutes walk to beach, lovely property, totally dog friendly, would definitely recommend and am considering rebooking.
This was our second stay here, and it did not disappoint! The cottage was spotlessly clean, superb welcome pack, and as before, exceedingly dog friendly. The facilities ate all you could possibly wish for, and I couldn't recommend it highly enough
This beautiful caravan was advertised as a budget holiday but was actually the most cleanest comfortable caravan I ve ever stayed in. 100% safe enclosed garden just a couple of minutes from enclosed dog field which we were able to access anytime ,no need to book but may share with other dogs on site but we actually only met one other dog in the time we stayed ( Mon-Fri). Lovely , peacefully quiet dog friendly area , safe walk through the fields across dunes and you are on the beach which is empty on early morning walks. Easily accessible to many popular spots along this coast by car. Thoroughl...more
We wanted a relaxing break with our three dogs and Ruby Gem exceeded our needs. We are regular Norfolk visitors and although we could have done lots of sightseeing (to other beaches etc etc) we just wanted to stay put this time. Winterton-on-Sea and Ruby Gem made this so easy. Everything we needed was provided for us at the cottage so no need to dash out for essentials on arrival. Fantastic welcome pack. Cottage is beautiful, cosy but with plenty of room for our dogs (and us) to get comfy. Garden has good height fences and hedging. Side gate was a bit lower but our jumper stayed safe. Winterto...more
We loved our short break at Stones Throw with ERC. The bungalow was immaculately clean and smelt very fresh. Dog friendly but not at all “doggy”. Comfortable beds and sofas, completely secure back garden, and a very short walk to the best sandy beach which we mostly had to ourselves despite the amazing weather! Local cafes, a shop and 2 pubs within walking distance and not far from Cromer / Sheringham and North Walsham for more facilities. Highly recommend this lovely place to stay - one of our new favourites!
Everything needed for our stay at Sandmartins. The garden is very secure, essential with our dog. The conservatory is a sun trap. Kitchen well equipped. Quiet location. Lovely walks. Easy to drive to Bacton woods. Beach at Happisburgh is lovely.
Lovely location in friendly village with all that is needed for a restful holiday. No need to use the car. Miles of dog friendly beaches, hardly any other people or dogs during the week.
We just had to come back to White Cottage - it's so quintessentially 'cottage'. It has everything...
The bungalow was extremely welcoming with almost everything needed for a doggy holiday, plus everything his humans needed, and some. From the moment we opened the gate to the back garden it was obviously going to be a good place to stay. Completely secure garden for ball throwing and doggy sniffing. A cupboard full of doggy toys and bowls. The kitchen had the biggest selection of utensils I've ever had in a holiday let. The welcome goodies were amazing. I was worried about whether our dog would be ok, he's never been on holiday but, unlike some places we looked at that were only tolerant ...more
We had a lovely stay at Sanddrift. Everything you could possibly need is provided for you and your dogs. A peaceful spot next to the dunes away from the hustle and bustle of life.
A fabulous property, very clean, spacious, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and everything you need for the dogs. Wonderful welcoming tray and fresh flowers. Excellent location for local walks and nearby beaches are only 15 minutes in the car. Plenty of supermarkets in the locality plus farm shops. We couldn’t have been made to feel any more welcome and would love to go back.
We can't thank East Ruston Cottages enough for our urgent last minute request for this holiday after a problem with Air B and B who I'll never use again All the communications were fast and very customer focused They really can't do enough for you from booking to arrival info to the welcome pack to any info you need whilst you are there at your stay The Crib was lovely house with fab kitchen and large rooms comfy beds and lots of choice of sofas and chairs in the lounge The whole place was spotless and clean and the garden very large fully enclosed and safe and very well kept Large par...more
As soon as we walked in to Woodpecker Lodge we knew we would have a great holiday - immaculately clean, with some Christmas decorations, it was immediately inviting. We explored many of the local beaches and towns, loved the local bakery and the Smokehouse. For the dogs, we couldn’t have asked for more with a large assortment of crates, throws on the sofas and spare towels, not to mention a fabulous welcome hamper! There were even some steps to help my old boy up and down from the sofa. Evenings in the hot tub, the added bonus, meant we had a great Christmas break! Definitely recommend.
All Justin (Dad) wanted for his 60th birthday was to spend quality time with our kids, their partners, and the dogs—just making memories together. Three out of our four rescue dogs joined us (they’re family, after all!). Each comes with their own triggers, but none are aggressive—just a bit noisy at times. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome from Tim and Trisha immediately put us at ease and set the tone for a relaxing stay at The Farmhouse. All of our dogs have very different backstories. ReKa is a crossbreed from North Macedonia (possibly an Illyrian Shepherd). Bob is our lit...more
This was the first trip away for our newish rescue dog & it didn't fail to please. Part of the object of the visit was to see how Izzy would cope with being away from home. The accommodation was spacious and so well planned. As it was just me & my dog, it was absolutely great, with a little front garden for sitting out in. The bed was so comfortable & I slept better than I do at home! Tracie was lovely & friendly and had provided an excellent welcome pack, includung dog treats, which was fortunate as the only two shops I saw in the nearby villages were both shut when I went past. I would a...more
We loved our week at Corner Cottage. It makes such a difference to stay somewhere where dogs are welcomed, not just tolerated. Lots of walks from the house, including to the beach. It was a real bonus having crates available rather than fitting two Labrador size crates into the car. The garden is properly secured and, though it wasn’t quite warm enough for us to sit out, the dogs enjoyed it. There was also a generous welcome basket and great communication with the host. Thank you
Bristow’s Barn is a wonderfully warm and welcoming property. It has plenty of space for people and dogs with the Weaver’s Way on the doorstep. The garden is totally secure with high fencing so we felt 100% confident the dogs couldn’t escape. We’ve stayed in several ERC cottages over the last few years and this has to be the best yet. It was immaculately clean and well equipped. The 2 ensuite bedrooms were well sized and comfortable. We’ll certainly be returning to this property.
This was our 4th visit to Beachcomber so we obviously like it but this time there were so many changes and improvements that it was even better! The cottage is always spotless, the kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable. The heating is easy to control and if the days are a little chilly the place soon warms up. The location is great. Easy to walk to the dunes or the beach and even better, an easy walk to the village cafe and the pub. There are throws for the sofas do the dogs can snuggle up and they’re allowed upstairs too, just bring your own bedding with you.
Too have a beach so close down a quiet no through road would be perfect but added to a character cottage with fantastic sea views from upstairs & a secure grass lawn garden. ( even has outdoor dog toilet to save on bags) & sun cabin if you want a place to sit & read with the sound of the sea plus 4 bedrooms with 1 downstairs then Sea View is the cottage for you.
We had a lovely relaxing stay and very much appreciated the goodie welcome pack. This was one of most dog friendly places we have stayed in, so well thought out with extra towels, poop bags, crates, food bowls covering all the pets needs. Nicely furnished, kitchen well equipped, comfortable bed, fab WiFi, lots of visitor sites info, plenty of of board games, well written manuals for function of the whole house, good sized secure front and back garden for our 2 small reactive rescue dogs. Location was perfect to get around to see so many sites, beaches, close by to many woods, parks all very do...more
The cottage is immaculate, very comfortable and so well equipped. It was warm and cosy in those cold April mornings, and then the garden room was a lovely sun trap in the afternoons. We had a thoroughly relaxing stay, making use of the plentiful games cupboard on one rainy afternoon, and then some lovely walks with the dog on the quiet beach when the sun came out. The local bakery and fish & chips shop certainly lived up to previous guests reviews! We would love to return in the not too distant future.
We loved staying at Thatch Cottage. It is homely, slightly quirky but being so completely dog friendly was the icing on the cake . Tenby, our Springer, sniffed and sniffed in the garden every morning to evening and sat by the back door waiting for a chance to walk down the farmer's path to the beach. My 2 Children and their partners came for the weekend and went off exploring different parts of Norfolk while we relaxed at the house, coming together for meals cooked together in the evenings. We had a couple of meals out - the Fisherman's Return at Winterton (for fish and chips) and The Ingham S...more
It was a lovely stay in Boundary Lodge. The location was perfect for beautiful country walks from the door. Picturesque views from the garden. The garden was fully enclosed with high fencing to keep our four gorgeous runners (greyhounds) safe. Local amenities in close proximity. Welcome pack was a lovely treat. Catered well for four dogs.
This is our third stay at Swallowdale & as before it fits ours & our multiple dogs needs very well. Close to the beaches, countryside, National trust locations & great farm shops; plus, an amazing welcome hamper. Great place to stay & relax. We can’t wait to be back in October.
Had a week with our 2 dogs and had a really restful and happy stay. Will definitely be going back again
One of the best dog friendly cottage I’ve ever stayed in . The dogs love the garden. Everything is 15 -20 minutes away. Beach, farm shops , cafe and pubs, all very dog friendly. We visited 5 different beaches. We have already booked for next year . Counting the days to our next visit. East Ruston Cottages and their team are fantastic. 5 star
Really enjoyed our week at this beautifully renovated cottage. Walking the dogs by the marina was a treat for them and us. Local beaches in easy reach by car and many were almost empty and dog friendly. A perfect location for a week away in early autumn
Brilliant place to stay we had the best breakaway & Kerry & Kevin are the perfect hosts 5* . Nothing too much trouble and although they live onsite they never intruded on our stay. It was an amazing place exactly what we needed to de-stess and just chill. Beautiful views across the countryside . Brilliant walks , although very much in the countryside , tesco’s and shops less than 10 mins away . Our little dog loved the fully enclosed garden and there was everything we needed in the cottage . We can’t wait to return . Thank you both for making our stay so perfect xx
The cottage is really convenient to walk Weavers Way , in a peaceful setting. The garden space was secure for our 2 dogs. The owner kindly responded really quickly to a request for an additional kitchen item.
Nice cottage well equipped as we are older we needed a loo downstairs, the stairs are quite steep and shallow not always good for older people. Great place to be to see the lovely area
The cottage was generally comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub was excellent and spotlessly clean. There was a nice welcome basket although the addition of a pint of milk would have made it perfect! Considering how dog friendly the property is there was no sign of dogs having been there in terms of dog hair etc which I know is no mean feat. However there was quite a lot of dust around the place which was a shame as it didn’t feel as clean because of this and some of the cupboards and equipment could have benefited from a wipe out/clean. In terms of location there are some nice walks b...more
We stayed at Pollywiggle with our two reactive German Shepherds and it was absolutely fantastic for them. As we visited out of season, it was very quiet, which meant far fewer triggers—perfect for our girls to relax and enjoy themselves. The secure field is only about 10 metres from the house, giving us a great, safe space for them to run and play freely. Inside, the living area was spacious and comfortably accommodated two large dogs, and the house was thoughtfully equipped with everything you could need when travelling with dogs. The private walk down to the beach was a real highlight—...more
We loved our stay at Sunny Cottage. The cottage itself is is in a great position in peaceful Southrepps, it was so quiet and the garden was perfect for relaxing and the dogs to explore, no escape routes. The cottage was very high standard and equipped with everything you could possibly need. We did miss having a freezer option for our raw dog food but that's just preference. We even managed the Aga. Southrepps has a well equipped shop and a welcoming pub The Vernon Arms with good food. There is also a lovely walk from the village hall to the Suffield Arms, we didn't eat there but the pizzas lo...more
We had an amazing week at Red Roofs on Hickling Broad. Whilst the house can easily accommodate 8, we made use of the discount for smaller groups, which was perfect for our 2 humans, 2 big hounds family. We often find that holiday homes are either great for the humans, or great for the dogs. Rarely do we find places which are perfect for all of us. But Red Roofs cracked it. When we arrive at other holiday cottages one of us usually takes the dogs for a walk whilst the other dog proofs the accommodation (inappropriate rugs up, delicate things hidden, our vet beds down). No need for any of ...more
We all loved our stay at Fenside. The main living area has such a beautiful feeling to it, very welcoming to dogs and humans alike. The beds are comfortable, the showers work well and the kitchen is well-equipped. Outside, the gardens are beautiful and we saw quite a lot of wildlife and wildflowers. The jetty had a fairly long drop to the water, so a step might be useful for when the water level is low. Absolutely fantastic to paddle board (we brought ours with us) out of the quiet creek into the broad alongside some friendly geese. You can buy a short-term permit for paddle boarding/canoein...more
