Robert, the host, was super helpful before we even arrived, sending directions and even offering us an earlier check in. He met us at Sea Urchin to hand over the key and show us around, which was very lovely. Sea Urchin has been completely refurbed and done so well. Although it was chilly outside Sea Urchin was so warm and cosy, perfect to return to after a walk on the beautiful beach. The path from the side gate takes you over the dunes and in a couple of minutes you are right on the beach. It's so clean, dog friendly all year and most of the time we had it practically to ourselves, althoug...more
Hadn’t holidayed with both of our GSD before but this was the perfect place to stay. Accomodation and ameneties were to such a high standard with everything you could possibly need. The addition of a secure field to use throughout the stay was so welcome and lovely walks direct from the door. Would love to stay again soon and would highly recommended, the owners were lovely and communicative before and during the stay when we reached out to them.
Fabulous property, a real home from home with a sea view! Perfect holiday for humans and dogs. Wonderful host who has thought of everything for this holiday home. We had a very chilled holiday with lovely walks and pub meals. Highly recommend
Everything has been thought of, a really lovely cottage with great facilities for the dogs. We had a lovely relaxing time. Would highly recommend
We have just returned home from the most wonderful week at the Malthouse Farm Barn. The barn itself is beautiful with so many thoughtful touches throughout for the humans and the dogs. Such a safe and secure location for our two dachshunds to relax and explore - really giving us peace of mind. A great location, a 10 minute stroll and you’re on miles of beach in both directions, a short walk to the pub, shop, cafe and fish and chip shop. Rick and Ally the owners were on hand for anything we needed. They have created something really special here. Their communication before and during our hol...more
Our 2nd stay at The Peanut didn't disappoint. We received a wonderful welcome pack and presents from our hosts Paul & Stella. It was fabulous to be back in Happisburgh Common for a peaceful, relaxing Beachmas (aka christmas) with long beach walks every day and listening for the Tawny Owls at night. Our 15 month old labrador had fun chasing the seafoam on the beaches at Walcott and Happisburgh and running through the dunes at Winterton, no runs on the beach there as the seals were in residence. We love the peace and tranquility of The Peanut and the onsite dog paddock is a bonus.
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was well equipped and the hamper was a nice gesture. Everything made our stay very comfortable.
Wow! Thatched Cottage is set in the most beautiful gardens right in the heart of Hoveton & within easy reach of all you wish to explore in North Norfolk & beyond. It is the cleanest & most immaculately presented holiday cottage we have ever stayed in, complete with so many lovely little touches & most importantly bedding that you can tell is refreshed regularly. It has been finished to such a high standard & the owners clearly work tirelessly to ensure their guests have all they need during their stay. The owners could not have been more considerate & helpful & even checked to see if we had al...more
Staying at Jack's Shack is always a pleasure due to its wonderful location and Caroline has thought of everything including the best ever gift baskets that both 2-legged and 4-legged guests look forward to! The house is always spotlessly clean and comfortable with the most amazing views over the dunes. Winterton on Sea is a lovely little village with a cafe right on the dunes, a tea rooms and wonderful fish & chip shop. It's heaven for dogs and owners too!
We were delighted to arrive at our warm and welcoming accommodation to find a wonderful tray of goodies waiting for us together with starter supplies of tea and coffee. Manor Barn is gorgeous with much attention to detail. Everything we could have wished for was provided. Beds are very comfortable with lovely pillows. Our dogs loved the garden and for us it was a delight to see them enjoying the walks and the nearby beaches. The laminated maps of local walks were much appreciated. We are looking forward to returning!
Our second time here and even better than we remembered. Everything we needed was there. Near to lots of dog friendly beaches Happisburgh, Cart Gap and Sea Palling being our favourites, Winterton is a bit further but definitely worth it. We enjoyed a couple of circular walks from the cottage. Hope to return in the near future
We had an absolutely brilliant holiday at The Walnut. The property had everything we needed, owners are lovely, facilities perfect for us and our young Labrador. Easy driving distance to the beach and Broads. We couldn’t have asked for any more!
Excellent location 5 minutes walk to beach, lovely property, totally dog friendly, would definitely recommend and am considering rebooking.
This was our second stay here, and it did not disappoint! The cottage was spotlessly clean, superb welcome pack, and as before, exceedingly dog friendly. The facilities ate all you could possibly wish for, and I couldn't recommend it highly enough
This beautiful caravan was advertised as a budget holiday but was actually the most cleanest comfortable caravan I ve ever stayed in. 100% safe enclosed garden just a couple of minutes from enclosed dog field which we were able to access anytime ,no need to book but may share with other dogs on site but we actually only met one other dog in the time we stayed ( Mon-Fri). Lovely , peacefully quiet dog friendly area , safe walk through the fields across dunes and you are on the beach which is empty on early morning walks. Easily accessible to many popular spots along this coast by car. Thoroughl...more
We stayed at The Salty Dog from 26th to 20th February. All correspondence from booking to checking out has been easy and any questions were answered quickly. The check in was seamless and we were welcomed to a thoughtful welcome basket, full of treats for the hoomans and our dogs. We stayed with 3 dogs and they were well catered for with everything you would need and more! The accommodation was perfect for us (3 adults) and having two shower rooms was a big bonus as well as being on one level which was a must for my Mum. The lodge was spotlessly clean and you’d never have known dogs had previo...more
This cosy cottage is set up for humans and dogs in equal measure. None of that plastic coated surfaces, the dogs are allowed on the sofa and the beds and its all so warmly furnished. Safe garden, relax with your little escape artist. Lovely hamper for humans and dogs including home made items. Easy to park on the drive, you won't need the car to get to the beach!
White Cottage is a magical, warm, detached home, and the owner Louise, a terrific host. We were spoiled rotten with delicious treats awaiting us, and the dogs love the fully secure large garden. Super comfortable beds, instant hot water, minutes from the beach. Louise is a very responsive host and keen to ensure you have everything you need. This is our favourite place to stay in Norfolk, and we were very lucky to get this week booked. With five reactive, escape artists (aka podencos), it’s not always easy to find a holiday home that is truly welcoming, not just tolerant. Gold stars all around...more
My third or fourth time here- it's a great choice for beach walks, clean and comfortable accommodation and a peaceful location. Therapy for a London-based owner and two lucky Labradors!
Hidden Gem is exactly what it says it is. A perfect getaway for our March holiday. The dogs loved the little courtyard garden as the sun was on it all morning. We spent alot of the time in the lovely sunny conservatory. A great place to snooze if you're a dog . Everything was laid out beautifully and very easy on the ground floor for the dogs to negotiate especially one who doesn't see very well. The beds were so comfortable and a lovely cosy bedroom. A view of the dunes from the back bedroom window and watching the sun rise was stunning. We had a lovely relaxing time with a short walk from ...more
Beautiful presented property. Pretty garden. Great dog toy box. Convenient for walks. Comfortable and well stocked. Generous welcome gifts. Would go again.
A fabulous property, very clean, spacious, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and everything you need for the dogs. Wonderful welcoming tray and fresh flowers. Excellent location for local walks and nearby beaches are only 15 minutes in the car. Plenty of supermarkets in the locality plus farm shops. We couldn’t have been made to feel any more welcome and would love to go back.
I found Sandmartins to be the perfect place for peace, quiet and total relaxation. Every room stylishly put together. We spent a lot of time in the spacious and sunny conservatory and my dogs loved the completely secure good sized garden without being overlooked. Plenty of borders with hedges/trees which they also enjoyed exploring. I loved the fresh and modern decor AND the very comfortable sofa. Every room was immaculate - even the shed had a nice rug in it! The bedding was luxurious to touch and I slept really well. The welcome homemade cheesecake was a lovely surprise and the kitchen w...more
Stone's Throw is positioned in a quiet cul-de-sac set just far enough back from the beach to avoid the strongest winds but near enough for a level walk round. The access to the sand is down a short wooden ramp which was perfect for our 3 small dogs who enjoyed daily walks along the golden sand stretching in both directions. The modern bungalow was immaculately clean and well equipped with a small and pretty totally secure back garden. The bonus space in the sun trap conservatory gave us ample opportunity to relax. The perfect base to explore the Norfolk coast and countryside by car or stay put ...more

As soon as we walked in to Woodpecker Lodge we knew we would have a great holiday - immaculately clean, with some Christmas decorations, it was immediately inviting. We explored many of the local beaches and towns, loved the local bakery and the Smokehouse. For the dogs, we couldn’t have asked for more with a large assortment of crates, throws on the sofas and spare towels, not to mention a fabulous welcome hamper! There were even some steps to help my old boy up and down from the sofa. Evenings in the hot tub, the added bonus, meant we had a great Christmas break! Definitely recommend.
All Justin (Dad) wanted for his 60th birthday was to spend quality time with our kids, their partners, and the dogs—just making memories together. Three out of our four rescue dogs joined us (they’re family, after all!). Each comes with their own triggers, but none are aggressive—just a bit noisy at times. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome from Tim and Trisha immediately put us at ease and set the tone for a relaxing stay at The Farmhouse. All of our dogs have very different backstories. ReKa is a crossbreed from North Macedonia (possibly an Illyrian Shepherd). Bob is our lit...more
We had a lovely stay in this pretty and well equipped dog-friendly property. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We managed to time our arrival with Storm Amy blowing in, and were delighted that she had ensured the accommodation was toasty warm. Being Norfolk, the sun magically managed to put in an appearance each day. The stunning sandy beach was within walking distance, as was Happisburgh’s iconic lighthouse.
We loved our week at Corner Cottage. It makes such a difference to stay somewhere where dogs are welcomed, not just tolerated. Lots of walks from the house, including to the beach. It was a real bonus having crates available rather than fitting two Labrador size crates into the car. The garden is properly secured and, though it wasn’t quite warm enough for us to sit out, the dogs enjoyed it. There was also a generous welcome basket and great communication with the host. Thank you
Bristow’s Barn is a wonderfully warm and welcoming property. It has plenty of space for people and dogs with the Weaver’s Way on the doorstep. The garden is totally secure with high fencing so we felt 100% confident the dogs couldn’t escape. We’ve stayed in several ERC cottages over the last few years and this has to be the best yet. It was immaculately clean and well equipped. The 2 ensuite bedrooms were well sized and comfortable. We’ll certainly be returning to this property.
We had another fantastic stay at the Beechcomber. I cannot fault this property or its location, we always have an amazing time. Our 3 beautiful dogs love it and the walks are great. We are always sad to go but we will come back again. Customer service is good, easily accessible, the owner always texts upon arrival to check everything is ok and is easily contactable for any queries you may have. Thank you and see you soon.
We have just returned home from our wonderful stay at sea view. We had the best time away, the host Leonie was very accommodating, with a yummy cake on arrival. The location is a very short walk to the beach Which was why we booked sea view, we have 6 dogs so this was perfect. Only thing that we would say was slightly negative was the beds were very hard and the duvets too heavy but that’s just a personal preference. Thanks again
Just came back from our stay at Rooster Barn in Trunch. Very beautifuly decorated and very comfortable, the flooring and underfloor heating perfect for our dogs. The cottage had everything we needed and was a perfect base to come back to after our walks and trips to the beach. Another great property from East Ruston Cottages.
The cottage is immaculate, very comfortable and so well equipped. It was warm and cosy in those cold April mornings, and then the garden room was a lovely sun trap in the afternoons. We had a thoroughly relaxing stay, making use of the plentiful games cupboard on one rainy afternoon, and then some lovely walks with the dog on the quiet beach when the sun came out. The local bakery and fish & chips shop certainly lived up to previous guests reviews! We would love to return in the not too distant future.
A perfect week- Swallowdale is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. An amazing welcome pack on arrival for us humans and for the dog. Out of all the dog friendly accommodations over the years Swallowdale is by far the best. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.
Boundary Lodge was a wonderful property - clean, comfy, well-equipped, perfect for our children and dogs. It was peaceful and calm. Location-wise - ideal for getting to the Norfolk beaches (15 min drive), and for exploring the Broads (30 mins). We had wonderful weather and feel that the only thing missing from this property was an outside table and chairs set so we could all sit out and enjoy the surroundings and the sun. Other than that, a perfect place!
Wow, what a place thatch cottage is. From the moment we stepped inside it felt like home. Enough room for a multi-generation holiday with a ground floor bedroom and bathroom, ideal for the grandparent. The garden was huge and the dogs loved zoomies round it. Very quiet location, and lovely quiet walks from the front door. Only saw a couple of other dogs in the area.
Skylark is a well equipped compact little chalion the Winterton Estate by miles of sandy beach. We were sent loads of info that turned out to be for the whole region so had to be dug through to find out what was actually local. At last minute chose to pack our own bedding on discovering that dog friendly did not include the bed. Lovely week with lots of walks on the beach spotting the seals. Curious to see other chalets for hire and sale on the site. Then discovered we could have booked directly with Winterton for a similar chalet, but with WiFi and a sea view, for £74 less than we had p...more
We’ve been to The Lodge many times, and always have a very relaxing time there. We don’t go far, local walks plus a walk on one of the nearby beaches. Everything was clean and comfy. The new TV is a big improvement! The warm dog shower is really useful. The drains showed signs of getting a bit blocked while we were there, but this was sorted really quickly. The Lodge is very warm and cosy. Everything works as it should and the kitchen is well equipped. We’ll be back!
Really enjoyed our week at this beautifully renovated cottage. Walking the dogs by the marina was a treat for them and us. Local beaches in easy reach by car and many were almost empty and dog friendly. A perfect location for a week away in early autumn
Brilliant place to stay we had the best breakaway & Kerry & Kevin are the perfect hosts 5* . Nothing too much trouble and although they live onsite they never intruded on our stay. It was an amazing place exactly what we needed to de-stess and just chill. Beautiful views across the countryside . Brilliant walks , although very much in the countryside , tesco’s and shops less than 10 mins away . Our little dog loved the fully enclosed garden and there was everything we needed in the cottage . We can’t wait to return . Thank you both for making our stay so perfect xx
Lovely stay, beautiful Cottage, nice and quiet. Cute welcome basket and really welcoming of dogs. Fabulous weekend getaway. Can’t wait to come back.
West Cottage is a lovely cottage in a great location for beach lovers. Nice welcome pack Very responsive to any queries we had . I would recommend this holiday property.
The cottage was generally comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub was excellent and spotlessly clean. There was a nice welcome basket although the addition of a pint of milk would have made it perfect! Considering how dog friendly the property is there was no sign of dogs having been there in terms of dog hair etc which I know is no mean feat. However there was quite a lot of dust around the place which was a shame as it didn’t feel as clean because of this and some of the cupboards and equipment could have benefited from a wipe out/clean. In terms of location there are some nice walks b...more
We stayed at Pollywiggle with our two reactive German Shepherds and it was absolutely fantastic for them. As we visited out of season, it was very quiet, which meant far fewer triggers—perfect for our girls to relax and enjoy themselves. The secure field is only about 10 metres from the house, giving us a great, safe space for them to run and play freely. Inside, the living area was spacious and comfortably accommodated two large dogs, and the house was thoughtfully equipped with everything you could need when travelling with dogs. The private walk down to the beach was a real highlight—...more
We had an amazing week at Red Roofs on Hickling Broad. Whilst the house can easily accommodate 8, we made use of the discount for smaller groups, which was perfect for our 2 humans, 2 big hounds family. We often find that holiday homes are either great for the humans, or great for the dogs. Rarely do we find places which are perfect for all of us. But Red Roofs cracked it. When we arrive at other holiday cottages one of us usually takes the dogs for a walk whilst the other dog proofs the accommodation (inappropriate rugs up, delicate things hidden, our vet beds down). No need for any of ...more
The house is great and the garden is so spacious and perfect for dogs due to being fenced in all the way.
Sunny Cottage is well equipped, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. It is in a quiet location in the heart of Southrepps with pub, shop and parking all only a couple of minutes walk away. It is very dog friendly , I was impressed by the loan of a ramp to help our labrador climb into our car. It gave us an excellent to explore North Norfolk
