The property is clean, comfortable and well equipped, including bowls and treats for a dog. It is obvious a lot of care has gone into making it a happy place to stay with books, games and a folder of useful information. I would say that although it sleeps 6 that might be a bit of a squash. There is on site parking and a fully enclosed garden including an outside seating area in a little sun trap with the sound of the sea in the background. The locals we met were all friendly rather than resenting holiday visitors.

There is excellent communication from Robert before, during and after the visit.

The highlight is obviously how near it is to a lovely beach but there are inland walks as well. The nearest access to the beach is up a sandy slope and down some steps but if this is challenging there are further easier access points within a short distance. The local cafe is in walking distance and a gem. The Star pub is a short drive and plenty to do further afield if you don't want to just enjoy the property and local beach.

Highly recommended.

I’m so very pleased you enjoyed your stay at Sea Urchin. We really do try to ensure we offer the very best stay we can for our guests as their holiday is important to us. Thank you for your comment about the sleeping up to six. We infrequently have six guests but we are at a price point considerably lower than many larger holiday homes so offer good value for the larger party. Our three bedrooms with their various sleeping arrangements offer flexibility for families our common family stay is a multigenerational five guests. I am so pleased you found the locals friendly and welcoming unlike some places these days. Eccles still has that quaint almost old fashioned friendliness many communities have sadly lost. I have to agree that I also love to be able to hear the sea in the background when I’m at Sea Urchin and the close proximity to the beautiful beach is truly wonderful and I’m so grateful to you for mentioning it in your feedback. I think Sea Urchins side gate to the beach is an average of one to two minutes. Thank you for leaving Sea Urchin clean and tidy for me as it’s very appreciated and thank you for taking the time to leave an equally wonderful review in our guest book. I so enjoy reading what our guests have done during their stays. Thank you for staying with us. We would love to have you back again in the future.

Lovely chalet really close to the sea, everything was clean and tidy when we arrived.

Robert, the host, was super helpful before we even arrived, sending directions and even offering us an earlier check in.
He met us at Sea Urchin to hand over the key and show us around, which was very lovely.
Sea Urchin has been completely refurbed and done so well. Although it was chilly outside Sea Urchin was so warm and cosy, perfect to return to after a walk on the beautiful beach. The path from the side gate takes you over the dunes and in a couple of minutes you are right on the beach. It's so clean, dog friendly all year and most of the time we had it practically to ourselves, although Rio did get to meet and play with some lovely dogs.
Sea urchin was beautifully clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need and a bit more!
The garden is a lovely size and Rio enjoyed playing in it and greeting passers by at the gate. He's a very friendly, social butterfly so it really suited him.
A 10 minute walk down the beach, or road takes you to Smallsticks cafe, they have a couple of dog friendly huts in their garden and the food is very nice.
A beautiful place to really relax.

We've just returned from a lovely relaxing stay at Sea Urchin. The property was so clean, in a very peaceful area, had absolutely everything we needed and it's proximity to the beach really was an added bonus. Robert was an excellent host and communication was great.
We would usually seek to book accommodation which have gardens with panel/ hedge fencing as one of our dogs is reactive to various sights and sounds, however given the time of year and it not being a busy area, this didn't prove an issue for us.
We look forward to staying again in the future.

We have just come back from.a lovely stay at Sea Urchin ,we woukd definatly go back again ,accommodation was spotless ,welcoming ,cosy and warm . We had the perfect host in yhe way that we knew ,he was only a phone call away ,if we should need any help ,but at the same time ,it was nice that the holiday accommodation, wasnt right next door to where he lived ,this made a huge difference and felt total relaxed . I cannot rate this property highly enough ,it was truly a lovely stay . Thank you Robert

Our hosts were very helpful. The house was clean, warm and comfortable. We were very close to the sea but would advise dog owners to put dogs on leads until on the beach because of the sea defences.

Sea Urchin is very clean, comfortable and cosy, well decorated. We had a lovely welcome from Robert who had provided excellent directions and local information. Our main consideration was the close proximity to the beach as we have dogs at the opposite ends of the age spectrum so didn't want to be walking either too far.

My daughter and myself, not forgetting our dog, Xana, had the most wonderful week , staying in Sea Urchin, Eccles-on-sea.
Great location, just steps from the beach, a warm and comfortable stay in clean and well thought out accommodation.
Very helpful and welcoming host, made us feel very welcome.
We loved the beach being so close and Xana enjoyed her walks and sniffs!
Great location to explore from and we always looked forward to getting back to Sea Urchin in the evenings!
