We had a lovely stay in the cottage. Primary reason for going away was to avoid fireworks, which was completely fulfilled. We had some great walks on the beach where our dog could run and play off lead. Excellent place for anyone with dogs.

Edelweiss was a gem, a haven. Lots of space, very comfortable and very dog friendly. Kitchen was well equipped and catered for all. Lovely box of treats on arrival, dog included. It was great to discover there was a farm track nearby to give access to the coastal path and in easy walking distance of Happisburgh lighthouse and Cart Gap. Tracie the owner was very friendly and always on hand for any needs. I really enjoyed my stay, even relaxing in the sunshine outside the cottage. I returned home refreshed, recharged and longing to return again.

We stayed for 3 nights and it was so relaxing
Lovely quiet spot away from the hussel and bussel.
Tracie, the owner was so welcoming and left humans and dogs some treats, we didn’t have to go out finding bread, milk, butter, tea and coffee. It was all provided, it was so relaxing knowing that our dogs were welcome too.
We were so happy that in the evenings we could relax knowing the dogs were safe in a secure garden.
Looking forward to staying again next year.

I had a lovely time at Edelweiss. Tracie was very helpful and left some wonderful gifts for my furbabies and me!
The beaches are lovely and Bacton Wood was a great place to take the dogs for a walk in the shade.

Our first visit to Happisburgh. Located in a quiet and ideal location for lovely beach walks. We walked miles every day on almost deserted sandy dog friendly beaches.
The accommodation was lovely and perfect for doggy holidays. The bed was really comfortable and we both slept well. Our only thought was that the bathroom would benefit from modernising as it looked tired and dated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Edelweiss. It had everything we needed and the welcome pack of food and naughty treats was an added bonus! Tracie was the perfect host, there if we needed us but otherwise left us to it. Don't be put off by the white sofa, Tracie provides throws and if necessary it is very easy to wipe clean. And it is very comfortable with plenty of room for 2 humans and 2 dogs! The beach is only 15 minutes walk away and the track down to it gives a wonderful view of Happisburgh Lighthouse. There are 2 pubs and a cafe within easy walking distance, all of which are dog friendly.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Edelweiss. The layout of the properry is excellent, with all of the facilities we needed. We especially liked the super-comfy bed, the dog-gate on the bedroom and the spacious bathroom. And of course the dog-friendly outside area suited us perfectly. The location is very convenient for the beach - just 2 minutes drive from miles of sandy walking. 2 very different pubs within 5 minutes drive, and we walked to the one in Happysberg in 20 minutes. Shops are within 6 miles. Loved our trips driving along the coast, visiting The Broads and into Norwich.

We do our best to provide everything that you may need for your stay and provide all the essentials you may need. So I was surprised at the value for money score after reading your review? For just over £88 a night I’m not really sure what else we can possibly provide as you said its is situated well, comfortable and super comfy bed, great layout and clean and a ideal garden for the dogs. For up to 4 people and dogs home from home. However what’s important is that you enjoyed your holiday with us and had a safe journey home.

We had a short week away before Easter, and the Edelweiss was ideal for the two of us and our 3 dogs. The owners live in the attached property and were fantastic, friendly, chatty and I’m sure had there been any issues, they would have resolved them straight away.
It’s a lovely location and probably be even better in the summer months.
The welcome pack waiting for us was unexpected and such a great thing for them to do. As it was my birthday during our stay, there was a bottle of wine to go along with the milk, bread, butter, chocolates, cookies, eggs and dog treats (think there was a couple more bits I may have forgotten).
The test is always, would we stay there again… and yes, we definitely would.

Yet another wonderful stay at Edelweiss. I think this was our 3rd or 4th stay and every time has been perfect. It's ideally situated and close to our favourites beaches, pubs, restaurants and walks. Tracie is a lovely host and was great in providing a large crate, at short notice, for a dog on veterinary instructed bed rest!
We walked miles on this holiday but came back very rested! The dogs loved their treats left for them and really enjoyed their stay. We definitely hope to return.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Edelweiss - easy to get to nice local beaches for dog walks and other visitor attractions in the wider area. Accommodation was comfortable and just right for us and our two dogs. Great to have enclosed outdoor space and off road parking.
Well looked after by Tracie who made us very welcome and checked we were comfortable.

A quick Monday to Friday get away for a special birthday. Happisburgh is like being home from home.
Received a lovely welcome pack on arrival and Tracie and Neil are there if you need assistance with anything.
Was concerned regarding the white decor/sofa with it being November but there was really no need - easy to wipe clean and we took dog throws for sofa. ERC are super dog-friendly cottages and have been coming to Norfolk for many years and we will continue to.
Easy quick walk to the beach/lighthouse. Wonderful stay thank you.

We have just returned from a stay at Edelweiss and can't fault it. The cottage was lovely, clean, well equipped and 100% dog friendly. Perfectly located to visit all the local beaches, woods, waterways, pubs and shops. Our hosts Tracy and Neil provided everything for a home away from home and were friendly and on hand if we needed anything. Thank you from us and our crazy whippets.

We really enjoyed our stay at Edelweiss cottage. Tracey and Neil were very welcoming, helpful and unobtrusive. The cottage was extremely comfortable and spacious. Very clean and everything you need is there, all of very good quality. The courtyard garden is an excellent sun trap in the afternoon and evening with several places to sit and enjoy all the birds on the feeders.

Really enjoyed our stay. A great welcome from Tracie who even delivered fish and chips to us. The property is lovely, just right for Two people. The little garden is set back from the road so feels private and although I'm not usually an fake turf fan it works here and you can nip out in your socks with the dog. A reasonable stroll to the pub and beach. You will be able to see the (magnificent) resident hounds from the kitchen window but they are very quiet and completely unreactive to your presence. Well kitted out cottage with a very comfy bed and great welcome pack to get you started.

Spent a week here in June 2023 with our two dogs and couldn’t have been better. The owner, Tracie, was very friendly and the whole set up made it easy to have the dogs with us. Nicely fenced off area at the front which was very secure that the dogs could easily access, less hassle for us as they didn’t need to be on lead to let them out. Great welcome pack on arrival and a huge welcome cake too! Sofa was a lovely size and very comfortable, although if you have dogs that tend to bring a lot of sand and dust in (spaniels like ours!!) might want to bring thicker throws with you to cover it. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you needed, and the whole cottage was a nice size for a longer stay. Nice outdoor furniture for eating or relaxing, and a BBQ too. It was about 1km walking distance to the beach from the cottage itself, to a quieter part than the main area, really convenient for taking the dogs with us. Very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return again

We took a last minute booking as a treat and that’s what it was ! The cottage was cosy and comfortable with everything needed. There was a welcome pack on arrival including milk butter eggs tea coffee cake and treats for our dog.
We loved the location with walks from the doorstep it’s a short walk to the beach
We recommend Small Sticks cafe at Cart Gap and the quaint pub The Hill House inn within walking distance
Horsey Gap is a must to view the seals
Thankyou to the owners Tracie and Neal especially for the fish & chip run !

We were greeted by the host she was very welcoming and made us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The welcome basket and extras were more then I’ve ever received for a self catering cottage before. Everything available for that first welcome cuppa plus a piece of cake perfect! Even some treats for the dogs! The kitchen was modern and well equipped. Sky TV was a bonus on a wet afternoon.
The only criticism would be the bathroom. It is a bit dated and in need of a revamp. The shower especially.
But overall a lovely break and would go back.

The property is 5 star, every amenity provided and very comfortable with clearly, no expense spared. Our host, Tracie, was around but never intrusive, a lovely lady. The beaches in the area are very impressive, Winterton being the pick, closely followed by Horsey with dozens of seals to see. We only visited one pub, the Lighthouse, that had good food and very friendly staff.

Beautiful annex in the quietest of locations. What a peaceful vacation! Very close to numerous dog friendly beaches and lovely countryside walks.
The actual annex was everything we needed. Spotlessly clean and just gorgeous. The dogs loved their holiday too! Very dog friendly area with local cafes and pubs being extremely dog friendly.
The host was fantastic. She is there if you need her but equally not if you don’t.
This was a wonderful place to stay and I had already rebooked within an hour of returning!

What a little gem! A very last minute break which could not have been better. We wanted somewhere within walking distance of the beach and Edelweiss fitted the bill perfectly. Nothing was too much trouble for Tracie, always there to help if necessary. I loved it so much I managed to leave things behind which Tracie is kindly going to send on.
Always ERC for us, nowhere else gets it that right!

Really great hosts who made sure that you enjoyed your stay without being intrusive. Comfy beds and proper bath sheets! Great location within walking distance of the beach. Small but relaxing garden. Truly dog friendly. Found it very easy to relax and unwind. Lots of good places to visit nearby and lots of nice places to eat. Highly recommended,

Edelweiss is a beautiful annexe with all the comforts of home.
Nothing was to much trouble for Tracie our host, 100% dog friendly.
The beach is a lovely short walk over a farmers field ( no live stock ) so dogs could run free .
I would definitely go again.

On arrival there was a lovely goody box and a home made cake. Then Tracey went and got us fish and chips! The cottage was immaculately clean and furnished to a high standard with a very comfortable bed. We were there in the heat wave and an air conditioning unit had been provided. Lots of ice in the deep freeze. Ideal location being near to a footpath and 3/4 mile walk to the dog friendly beach. Only disadvantage being the picket fence is a bit low for our dogs. Tracey gave us useful advice about suitable places to take our dogs in hot weather and went out of her way to be helpful.

Nice annex for two people to stay at a reasonable price. Clean and very friendly and welcoming owners. Really close to beach if you want to walk across farmland or drive. Great dog friendly owners. From start to finish our experience with East Ruston Cottages was perfect! Booking was easy. Communication was prompt, professional and detailed. Edelweiss was a very comfortable, clean and welcoming base for a weekend break away to the Norfolk coast. It is well located for the lovely beach at Cart Gap with it's dog friendly café and there are lots of walking choices for dogs both along the coastal path and inland.
The cottage was very clean and well equipped. The owner was very welcoming and there were lots of goodies on arrival, including a lovely home made cake. There were treats for the dog and although the garden is very small it is fenced.

Fantastic cottage.beautifully clean and well appointed.The owner who lived next door was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
Plenty of lovely places to visit within a few miles, no need to be driving long distances to get anywhere.
The whole place is so dog friendly , all the cafes and pubs too.

You won’t find a more dog or human friendly cottage than at Edelweiss.
Dogs are really well accepted and catered for. Not only did we receive fantastic cake on arrival but treats for our dog as well.
Tracy is an excellent and friendly hostess offering help if needed but although living next door, is not intrusive.
Property is very comfortable and well equipped. Easy walking access to local beach and Norfolk Coast Path, location is also perfect for exploring further afield.
We will be back.

A perfect week for me and Izzy.
A beautiful comfortable annexe with everything that you could possibly need. Tracie was a great host, really helpful and Izzy loved her!
Happisburgh is also a perfect base - A lovely easy walk to the fabulous (very quiet) beach where Izzy was able to run around playing for ages. Also great walking to the lighthouse and beyond along the coastal path.
We really hope to return soon!

Edelweiss is an extremely comfortable holiday home. We had such a lovely week the sun even came to visit.
The Annexe was spacious enough for the two of us and our guest Rufus.The kitchen was well equipped and on Arrival we were greeted with the tastiest cake and goody basket. The Annexe is very tastfully decorated. The owner was lovely and we had the pleasure of meeting her fabulous dogs. We will definitely pay another visit.

A lovely relaxing holiday for the two of us along with our three retired greyhounds. A delicious cake awaited us on arrival, along with essentials for a much needed cup of tea. The dogs didn't miss out either with 'goodies' for them, they settled in and began enjoying their new routine. The cottage is well equipped and had everything we needed. Our hosts were welcoming, friendly and available if we needed any information or advice. Would recommend to anyone wanting a few days break with or without their dogs.

This was our first holiday with East Ruston cottages but it won’t be our last. Edelweiss was extremely cosy when it is freezing outside in November. Everything you could possibly need is catered for. It’s only a short walk to the beach which our dog loved and the walks are amazing with hardly anyone else around. Great food in local pubs and long walks made for a very relaxing break. I would highly recommend.

We found Edlelweiss very comfortable both us and our dog Molly. Although she didn't like the artificial grass, so it was a walk down the road each morning which was very peaceful. We found everything in the cottage was excellent only 1 thing l would add and that would be a non slip mat for inside the bath for us more senior people.
We will certainly visit again.Our hosts were lovely and the hamper and homemade cake on our arrival was so very welcoming Molly loved her dog treats too. A wonderful area for walking and eating cake and drinking coffee in the numerous cafes along the way Bliss
So much thought has gone into making your stay wonderful and we had such a welcome rest.

Second holiday of the year and again managed to drop on well with the good weather. Loved stopping at Edelweiss Cottage. The owners were lovely and very helpful. Happisburgh is gorgeous and not teeming with tourists. The beach is lovely and clean and there is amply parking at the top of the cliffs. Nice places to walk and its not a trek to the beach if you want to have a walk. Lots of little holiday places on the coastal road which again are not teeming with visitors. Would definitely use East Rushton again for any future visits to Norfolk. Oh and the welcome cake was delicious.

We had a great week staying in Edelweiss cottage. The cottage is very nicely decorated and the furnishings were clean and comfortable. Really pleased with how well the kitchen was equipped. Nice full size fridge/freezer and cooker, plus a microwave and dishwasher. Lots of hot water for showers in the family sized bathroom and nice towels supplied. The bed was lovely and comfortable. The location was nice and quiet and we have never seen so many birds together in the garden. There was a nice courtyard out the front for our use with a hose for washing off sand. We were able to access all the beaches easily by car and were able to walk to Cart Gap, along the beach to Happisburgh, then back to the cottage. We would definitely recommend a visit there

Lovely annexe.
Approx 15-20 minute walking distance to Happisburgh beach across farmland, involving a very short walk along road. (Might be quicker if your dog is younger!). Can walk into village where there is a pub. We only ventured here once though. Smallstix cafe worth a visit.
The annexe is a real home from home. It has all you need for a self catering holiday but there are plenty of eateries within driving distance.
Tracey and Neil make you feel very welcome but they are not at all intrusive.
A truly dog friendly home. Astro turf in front garden, along with hose to wash the dog down after walks.
Comfortable sofa and bed. Super fluffy towels. Lovely welcome pack with a huge cake in the fridge and also treats for the dog.
Lovely area of Norfolk which seems as yet unspoilt. Good base for exploring north Norfolk coast but also near to Broads and Norwich.
We would recommend a stay here.

We have just spent a week at this beautiful cottage with our 3 dogs. Everything about the cottage was perfect, decor very high standard, clean, bright and airy. The owners provided a welcome pack of goodies for both of us and the dogs together with a homemade cake. (Cakes are made by Jane next door and you can purchase more on Thursdays). Tracie was so kind and even gave us sample food for the dogs to try, nothing was too much trouble. So friendly and welcoming. Their honey was delightful and we purchased more to bring home. So glad we ordered the afternoon tea to be delivered on arrival, this is excellent quality, and highly recommend. Think we visited all the beaches, even saw seals at Horsey. You can walk to Happisburgh Lighthouse from the cottage and access the beach too. Took the steam train to Aylsham which was fun. Fab local pubs/cafes which are dog friendly, namely Lighthouse Inn, Smallsticks Cafe, White Horse at Neatishead, Kings Head at Coltishall. All in all a fantastic week away, perfect for relaxing and so glad we chose East Ruston Cottages Ltd to handle our booking, communication from Sue was firstt class and we will definitely use again and return to Norfolk.

It is a delightful and well-equipped cottage in very good condition. Everything we needed was provided, though the TV - a Sky
receiver - was initially a challenge to operate; perhaps an idiot's guide would be useful for visitors who lack familiarity with Sky!

The location is fine and there was plenty of information about local shops etc. All round it is excellent, but it is really best suited to two guests, and while three can be comfortably accommodated it is a bit small for three.

A massive thank you to Tracie and her family for all the help. Lovely chatting to her. Lovely welcome box, also I ordered the afternoon tea. Which was brilliant as that was dinner sorted, whilst awaiting food shop delivery. The dogs love it edelweiss, two weeks wasn’t enough. The weather, the beaches, the cafes…we live it so much i even started job hunting in the area . Again erc another fantastic holiday than you. Were back again in Norfolk for another erc holiday in September, but i wish payday would hurry up i want to book next years!!! Definitely need more holidays there edelweiss is a home from home. My first holiday with my 18 month old sprocker and Edelweiss cottage and super friendly host Tracie have set the bar VERY high. Gorgeous accommodation - so comfortable, well equipped and sparkling clean. Welcome basket included treats for both human and dog and useful guide books for walks available. Great location with so many beach and inland walks within easy reach we were truly spoilt for choice. An added bonus for me as EV driver was that there is a public charge point less than 15mins drive away in North Walsham which was very convenient. We had had such a super time here - such a dog (and human!) friendly location, we will be back!

A real dog-friendly home from home owned by truly lovely people who really have thought of everything. Tracie and Neil are so friendly and really went above and beyond with their kindness including a welcome hamper with gifts for us and our dog, a huge cake and more. The bed and the sofa were probably the comfiest we've ever had in a holiday let, the suntrap garden with its visiting birds was a great place to relax and the location was ideal for a week of adventures with our greyhound. We had a lovely 5 day break at Edelweiss. Tracie was very welcoming and we had a fabulous cake and a basket of goodies for humans and dog on arrival. The house was very clean, bright, spacious and warm with most things you would require for a short stay. There were local walks from the front door and you could walk down to the coast over the fields. We also visited the seals at Horsey beach in the car - a fantastic sight. Such a great place

Clean warm and friendly

Enjoyed beach walks the pub and chilling in the lounge .

Loved visiting Sheringham and Great Yarmouth and exploring locally

Horsey beach to see the seals was a particular highlight

The owner couldn’t be more accommodating

Thank you for a lovely time away from all the madness in the world !

Totally the best place ever, amazing welcome package for dogs and a me! A massive Victoria sponge cake just for me!! Handy numbers to hand for vets and local takeaway! Tracie and neil most wonderful hosts. Especially when i had van trouble! Cant wait to come back and stay. Lovely place, lovely owners lovely dogs!

Had a pleasure to stay here for 4 nights.
Cottage was beautiful and very clean. I lived that everything was on one level, no stairs. Welcome basket with a cake, oh boy I could eat that cake right now!
The owner was very friendly and helpful regarding advice on what are the best places for dogs in the area.
We had lovely meal at The Lighthouse Inn, which was super dog friendly and food tasted brilliant. We also tried local fish and chip shop in Walcott which was great. Everywhere we want it was very dog friendly. Our dogs enjoyed their stay too. They were tired from all that off lead running on the beaches.
Hopefully will be back doon

We enjoyed a superb mini-break at Edelweiss cottage in the heart of dog friendly Norfolk. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well appointed with contemporary furnishings. Tracie the owner welcomed us on our arrival after we had time to unpack and settle in. She gave us lots of useful information on the area and things to do, there was lots of handy little notes around the cottage with useful information on to help enjoy our stay. The welcome pack was hugely appreciated and the cake was lovely! This is a fantastic base location for visiting all the area has to offer and all the beaches and sights are only a short drive away and the local beach is within easy walking distance. There is everything you need for a holiday with your dogs and lots of added touches that make this a home from home place to stay. We would definitely stay here again and I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing break with their four legged friends. Thank you for a wonderful time.

We had a lovely week at Edelweiss. It is very bright, white and clean but perfectly dog friendly. The king-size bed is very comfortable. Not having Sky at home it was great to come back after long walks to watch the latest films. We were very lucky with the weather and made use of the sun loungers in the front garden which was a real suntrap. I did wonder if Willow would think that the AstroTurf in the garden was carpet and not do her business but she was fine with it. Tracie even provides a little dog poo bin and poobags. In fact the welcome pack is best I've had at any cottage - two cakes, chocolates, honey, two big cans of good quality dog food and milk. It's only a short walk to Happisburgh beach and Cart Gap. We also went to Bacton Woods and walked the Weavers Way. Visited The Broads and Great Yarmouth. The pubs are all very dog friendly. We went to The Inn on the Hill, The Ship at Mundesley, Nelson's Head at Horsey, The Acle Bridge Inn and the Imperial Hotel at Great Yarmouth. Sadly we didn't get to the Star at Lessingham as it looked really nice. Tracie was a fantastic host who made sure we had what we wanted but also gave us our privacy. Loved seeing her dogs romping in her garden. All in all a great holiday that I would thoroughly recommend. Ginny

We have stayed at quite a few of the cottages managed by ERC. All of them have been excellent. The latest one, last week, was Edelweiss in Happisburgh. It was beautifully decorated, comfortable and very well equipped. We love Happisburgh and the surrounding area and will be back. ERC = 10/10.

Lovely beaches nearby, cottage well equipped and owner very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area felt very welcome, not much to do in the village but some great spots within short driving distance forced us to relax and switch off which is what we needed! Thank you

We stayed at edelweiss for a week in August, lovely quiet location perfect to recharge the batteries. Tracie the host was very helpful with local hints and tips plus the welcome pack for our dog and cake for us was a great touch. Happisburgh beach was just a 10 minute walk away and great for dogs and not very busy.

We had a wonderful week here. We were made to feel most welcome by Neil and Tracie the owners. Very dog friendly. I would highly recommend this cottage and the company we booked through.
