This was our second stay at Rose Cottage and we will be returning next year. The cottage is cosy and in a perfect location 2 minutes from the beach which our dogs love. Ann provides a lovely welcome pack and even left a bag of presents for us to take home for one of our dogs who was unwell and unable to come. I cannot recommend Rose Cottage highly enough.

I lovely cottage situated 2 minutes walk from the sea of, the welcome pack was out of this world. The owners are very approachable even when things go wrong through no fault of theirs, they go out of their way to put things right. We would certainly stay here again.

Our stay in Rose Cottage, Walcott was a great experience. Clean, homely, most importantly to us very dog friendly. The Location ideal, close to a lovely beach with fish and chips, ice cream and supplies all on the doorstep. Will certainly think of a return visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed my few days at Rose Cottage. It has everything you need for humans and dogs. Very close to the Walcott beach and others near by. Nice pub within walking distance and a good Cafe and Fish & Chip shop nearby. So you don't have to cook if you prefer not to on holiday.

Truly Dog friendly cottage in a fabulous location. Perfect for 2 with 2 dogs!
Well equipped kitchen & smashing little conservatory to relax in. We had a great week ..walks on empty beaches & choice of eateries nearby and of course delicious homemade cake in the welcome pack.

Great stay lovely location so close to beech.Everywhere dog friendly especially local cafe and pubs.
Surrounding area amazing and we were so lucky with the weather.

Our second stay at Rose Cottage, Anne and Gary always make us and our furbabies so very welcome and looked after.
The welcome pack is amazing so thoughtful and kind.
Our crew absolutely love it there, they all turn into happy puppies even our 12year old. Cobi's face is an absolute picture when he sees the amazing toy box, he's like a kid in a sweetshop. The location of Rose Cottage is perfect only a step away from the beach and not too far from Bacton woods.
This is a perfect well catered for dog cottage , with lovely owners who genuinely love and cater for our pooches.
What more could a dog owner want. Our crew are already woofing for another visit.

Rose Cottage is a home from home. Anne, the owner has a lovely cottage and provides all the necessary things for a comfortable, relaxing stay for both humans and dogs. Anne's welcome goodies are the best we've ever had in all the places we have stayed. So dog friendly and there is everything you could possibly need for your dog - toys, towels, blankets, dishes, leads etc. The cottage is yards away from the beach, Poachers Pocket pub, convenience shop, cafe and fish and chips shop. It is also central to places of interest and trips out across Norfolk. The only complaint we have is that we have to tear ourselves away and come home! Roll on to our next visit.

Lovely cottage, in a fab location, as spoke of before, straight across from a lovely stretch of beach.
Drive a little tight for parking, but nice to have your car straight outside, stones a little uncomfortable for my pugs on the drive, but nothing that bothered them to much.
Fab welcome tray on arrival for humans & doggies, with a beautiful Victoria sponge. (Thank you Anne)
Lovely lovely owners.
Kingfisher fish&chips were lovely, has was the lighthouse pub, Watsons cafe and a short drive to Smallsticks cafe all beautiful, village shop well stocked to.
Definitely would return, as we keep doing with east rushton, as each place has been lovely and never disappointed.

Cosy, comfortable, clean cottage . Everything you needed thought of. Close to the beach . Made to feel very welcomed by the owners. My only slight negative is whilst you have allocated parking it can be a bit tricky to get in with a long car due to the narrow unmade road . But other than that perfect. Had a wonderful stay . The only reason I would not book again as I like to go different places every time I go away . But definitely recommended.

Our second visit and we felt relaxed as soon as we walked in. We can't pinpoint what makes Rose Cottage so welcoming and relaxing. Is it that dogs are so well catered for? Is it the wood burner? Is it the comfortable bed? Is it the cake?
We can say the owners are so friendly and welcoming. The location just across from the beach is great and there's lots of walks to choose from. Looking forward to returning sometime soon.

East Ruston Cottages and Anne have delivered above and beyond again. Anne messaged to ask for any special requirements we might have and as my dachshund had just had double surgeries I potentially needed a buggy, which she supplied. Anne also offered us steps to the sofa for her. And this is the best bit, she said if our dogs like to sleep on the bed with us, there were throws for that too.
Our welcome pack was lovely and the dogs Christmas stocking was a big hit with the pooches on Christmas morning.
The cottage is glorious and in a great location. The beach is literally just across the road and our dogs loved their time on the sand. Anne provided lots of towels and a mud daddy for washing them down if needed. The cottage had everything we and the dogs needed for a great stay. It was lovely to come home and light the log burner and snuggle down on the sofas to watch TV.
The Poachers Pocket pub/resturant and the Lighthouse Inn are both within easy walking distance. We had a smashing Christmas lunch at the Poachers pocket.
Unfortunately the chip shop was closed until January so we couldn’t sample its delights but we did have an amazing breakfast at the Kingfisher cafe. The little store also stocks everything you could possible need or want.
We drove to Cromer to the dog cafe and had a fabulous lunch on Boxing Day at the Gunton Arms.
We had a lovely and restful stay at the cottage which is just what we needed. Everyone we met was so friendly and I love that we could take our dogs everywhere with us.
I highly recommend Anne, Rose Cottage and of course, East Ruston Cottages for the perfect dog friendly get away.

After a couple of tough months it was so good to get away, and we certainly chose a perfect spot! Rose Cottage was lovely, had everything we needed, and the location was too was perfect. Our dog loved the sofa, taking advantage of being able to join us there, as there were throws a plenty, and the beach was wonderful. We visited a couple of pubs, and the fish and chip shop all of which were good.

Have just enjoyed a great week at Rose Cottage in Walcott. Well presented property with great supplies for the dogs - towels, throws, dishes, toys and beds.
Super welcome pack both for us and the dogs, including a beautiful home made cake. As Anne and Gary knew we were celebrating our wedding anniversary during our stay there was also a lovely bottle of prosecco, flowers, chocolates and a card.
Perfectly situated for the fabulous long beach (literally over the road), the Kingfisher Cafe & Fish and Chip shop and Walcott General Stores. Short drive to Bacton and the Cafe Carmel or to The Lighthouse Inn at Walcott, where we had two fabulous meals.
Definitely recommend this lovely property.

The cottage is just across the road from the sea and lovely sandy beach. Perfect for dog walks. The owners make you and your dogs feel so welcome. Plenty of dog towels and throws are provided as well as a basketful of dog toys The welcome pack is generous and includes home made cake. We live in Norfolk and didn't travel far from home, but we enjoyed the change of scenery, doing different walks and enjoying the cafes and fish and chip shop nearby.

Rose Cottage is a lovely cosy cottage, walking distance to the beach, pubs, fish and chip shop and cafes. Cafe Carmel was close while we were in Walcott, we will visit another time I’m sure. Parking on the drive is a little bit tight so we didn’t use the car during our stay, but we didn’t feel we missed out. A Waitrose delivery negated the need for a supermarket shop and the walk to Watsons meant we had an appetite for their delicious lunches. There was a lovely welcome pack for both humans and dogs including a basket piled high with an assortment of dog toys. The owner was very understanding when I reported ‘cloud formations’ in the lounge, nevertheless we did remove all the soft toys so that there would be something left for the next guest. We also set up a ‘field hospital’ in the conservatory to carry out repairs on the worst affected toys.

Perfect place for my partner and I to holiday with my best friend and her 2 beautiful Cocker Spaniels. As none dog owners, we were a little apprehensive booking a dog friendly cottage, but wanted to ensure that my friend and her dogs had the best place to relax. It exceeded our expectations and meant that humans and dogs felt completely at home in seconds. Our favorite spot was the little conservatory where we spent most of our time, especially in the rain!! Although it rained heavily and some water leaked down the wall here, a note left had pre-warned us this may happen so we didn't worry about it at all. AND the amazing welcome pack, including homemade chocolate cake, was the cherry on top!
With regards to location, this was just what we wanted. Away from mainstream tourist spots but with pubs, cafe, fish n chips and fabulous beach all within easy walking distance. What more could humans and dogs need for a very relaxing few days? Thank you!

A lovely cottage near the beach, very clean and comfortable it had everything we needed for our break there. Great beach for walking and watching the birds. Local cafes and pubs for eating out. The dogs were cared for as well as the humans great goodies and toys for the dogs. It was also relaxing to hear the sea day and night.

We had a lovely week at Rose Cottage, first the cottage was so acquit for our 4 dogs, beds, biscuits, throws, towels everything you needed. We loved being so close to the beach, our 9yr old daughter loved playing on the beach with our dogs. Also very comfortable for us as well as the dogs. I never fail to be astonished at just how good ERC cottages are! I had a lovely welcome from Sue and then Anne and Gary making me feel very welcome. The cottage was a really lovely home from home; its even better than the description. We've walked at Winterton, Sea Palling and Walcot beaches and also Bacton woods. Its been great being able to let the dogs have a good off lead run with everywhere being so dog friendly. We visited the Lighthouse Inn, Watsons and Hirst Farm Shop and cafe, all again very dog friendly, welcoming and helpful; its not easy going into places when you are alone but I soon found I was chatting to someone. Having a 10 month old standard schnauzer who tends to attract attention with his good looks (but then I would say that) does help. We really didn't want to come home. Can't wait to come again!!

Great location - beach on the doorstep - fabulous for humans and dogs alike! Really secure outside area - hosepipe to shower off before entering the house. It felt like a home from home - everything was provided - there wasn't anything we felt was missing. The welcome pack was thoughtful and plentiful - dog treats & cake were especially enjoyed! Definitely a location to return to! So many extras provided to ensure dogs are well catered for - including stuff we didn't know we needed....but now we need!!

The complete Dog friendly holiday. We had a wonderful time at the Rose Cottage. Couldn't fault where we stayed, everything we needed all within walking distance. Will be definitely be coming back. Absolutely loved it.

Heavy rain flooded lane (no walking for 3 days) and leak in downstairs toilet window not on the conservatory window ledge where a note was left ?
Quite a lot of dust everywhere, Kitchen, Living Room and Bedrooms that has been gathering for some time especially the glasses on the open kitchen cabinet.

Rose Cottage is the best dog friendly holiday we’ve ever been in. When we arrived with our 3 dogs there was a bowl of fresh water waiting outside for the dogs.
The owners provide everything you could think of for dogs - bowls, leads, poobags, crate, beds, dog shower with shampoo, towels, toys, throws for the sofa and even a training clicker to name few. There was also a fantastic welcome pack for the humans containing tea bags, coffee beans, butter, loaf of bread, milk, fresh juice and the most delicious Victoria Cake. And there was also bags of dog treats.
The cottage is exactly the same as the photos advertised and despite being dog friendly was super clean everywhere. The towels and bedding are brilliant white and mattresses really comfortable. Best sleep away from home we’ve had.
You can tell the owners have put in a lot of effort to make it a home from home and they’ve got included lots of extras you wouldn’t normally find.
The dog friendly beach is virtually on the doorstep just a minutes walk away. And there is a supermarket, cafe/fish and chip shop and a pub really close by.
If you want a holiday in Norfolk with the dogs Rose Cottage is the place to go to. I most definitely recommend.

Lovely and cosy, crisp bed linen on comfy beds. Also a wonderful thoughtful goody basket on arrival!!
Everything you could possibly think of was provided for our dogs, fresh squishy beds, throws, leads toys, towels even 2 mud daddys!! An absolutely amazing vegan cafe up the road was the cherry on the cake. Loved it!

We booked Rose Cottage through East Ruston Cottages Ltd and their customer service is excellent. Rose Cottage exceeded all our expectations. It is a lovely cottage, cosy, clean and welcoming with everything you need for a home from home holiday. The welcome pack on arrival was fantastic, lots of goodies for humans and dogs alike and even a birthday cake, card and bunch of flowers as I was celebrating my birthday whilst there. Rose Cottage is based in Walcott and it is a two minute walk to the beach, to a well stocked supermarket and to a fish and chip shop. There are many other lovely beaches a few minutes drive away as is Bacton Woods, great for walking the dogs. National Trust properties Blickling Hall, Horsey Windpump, Sherringham Country Park and Felbrigg Hall are all within a 30 minute drive, all dog friendly and well worth a visit. Highly recommend Rose Cottage for a relaxing holiday in lovely surroundings and we are certainly returning.

We had a short break at Rose Cottage in Walcott just me, Hubby and hounds. Great location as everything you need is nearby including the great Fish & Chip shop.
Secure garden with off road parking and a super clean little house with a beautiful log burner for the chilly evenings. Very short walk to the dog friendly beach and nice little pub which is also dog friendly. The welcome pack was absolutely fab and even included an Easter Egg for us and one for the dogs. Couldn’t fault the property and the owner was easy to contact if necessary. Highly recommend booking through ERC as everything was straightforward. Just looking to book to come back in September. We were concerned that the garden was too small but to be honest this wasn’t as issue as the dogs were exhausted after the long beach walks and it’s big enough to sit out in and use the bbq provided. There is also a tap/shower in the garden to hose down sandy dogs.

Superb location. Minutes to the beach, although we experienced high tide in morning there was still beach to be found. Property is cosy warm and clean. The conservatory is a little sun trap and ideal for walking into the property if you are a bit sandy.
The goodies were lovely. Monty the dog appreciated the basket of toys. Lots of throws to use and Anne provided a bed for him. In close proximity there were a number of dog friendly pubs and cafes. Poachers pocket the nearest pub. Landlord and staff are friendly. Lighthouse inn a little further. Kingfisher cafe and fish and chips are on seafront. Watson cafe in Bacton. You are spoilt for choice.

We just couldn’t have hoped for a better place to enjoy our Spring break: the location and the cottage itself were fabulous. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed being so near to the beach for their early morning walks and Bracton Woods is a short drive away when they wanted a change of daily sniffs. The wildlife was a real joy: travelling a little further north brought sightings of barn owls, red kites, peregrine falcons, hares and deer up around the marshlands, whilst a foray south meant Horsey beach and the 100+ grey seals lolling around on the sand. Rose Cottage just couldn’t be more dog friendly, and Anne clearly does everything possible to make the humans stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible, too: the welcome pack was wonderful, especially the superb Victoria sponge! Definitely and most highly recommended cottage

We enjoyed our stay at rose cottage very much well equipped and very clean the welcome pack was a nice touch to and nice that dogs were welcome and the garden was enclosed we fully intend to go again when the weather is better and can get on the beach without being blown away and frozen

We had a lovely stay at Rose cottage
It was warm and cosy with everything we could need for us and the dogs
The welcome pack was very much appreciated even included a delicious cake to have with our cuppa when we arrived
The cottage is seconds from a wonderful beach, a chip shop and a really well stocked shop two pubs close by what more could you ask for.

Nice cottage a stone's throw from the sea front. We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts who had left a card and gift for my husband's birthday. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable.
The hosts have gone out of their way to think of everything you might need for your stay with many nice touches for humans and even more for our dogs. The cottage is well equipped and spotlessly clean. Even the neighbours were friendly although we were only staying a week.
The cottage is near a good fish and chip shop and a well-stocked general store which hare both only a few yards away with a pub The Poachers Pocket) and a lovely cafe (Caramels) close by. We loved the access to the beach and took many long walks along the front with our dogs.
We walked from Happisburg to Cromer both ways and for some these routes you must be very aware of the tide times which are readily available online.

Our hosts Anne and Gary did everything possible to make out stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. They really have tried to think of everything to make their guest welcome.

This lovely cottage was just what we needed for a cosy winter break. Amazing cake on arrival and treats to for the dog, just a hop across the road to lovely beach walks. Fish and chip shop next door one way and local pub the other way. Also village shop, we didn't use the car all weekend as we had everything we needed right there. Anything we needed Anne was on hand to help. Definitely recommend.

The host was really easy to communicate with before and during our stay. The welcome pack on arrival was the best we've ever encountered with a super generous selection of food/drink with an amazing huge home-made cake and bottle of wine too! The property was well set up for dogs with hard floors and mostly leather furniture downstairs, and a dog shower outside with the conservatory providing a great place to towel down after a sandy beach walk. Going for a walk necessitated only 1 minute on the lead before you were on the beach, so no need for the car. Definitely recommend.

I’ve had such a lovely week away staying in rose cottage. The owner, Anne was amazing. She texted me the day before our arrival to wish us a safe journey and ask if we needed dog beds and let us know that she would be leaving bread, milk, butter and a cake. She asked if we had any preferences, so I was able to let her know that I had a dairy intolerance, so needed alternatives. She went above and beyond to bake me a diary free cake and provide dairy free butter, milk and cheese. I’ve never had that anywhere I’ve stayed, so was blown away. On the day of arrival we were having issues getting the heating to come on, so I text Anne and she was there in a matter of minutes to sort it out. She also lit the fire for my Nan, which was so sweet of her, and told us to just text if we needed anything else. We felt extremely welcome and the property was lovely. It had everything you needed and more for a comfortable stay. It’s right across the road from Walcott beach, which is beautiful and the dogs loved it. We met some lovely fellow dog walkers and got to boop lots of dogs noses. We visited the lighthouse inn and cafe carmel, which are both fab. I actually got to have a dairy free hot chocolate and cake, which is a variety. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone and can’t wait for my next trip to cornerways next year.

Myself and my 2 dogs had a wonderful 4 night stay at Rose Cottage. The weather wasn't great but that didn't stop us being on the beach twice a day, very short walk across the road. The cottage was as advertised and welcome pack great. Would recommend anyone to stay.

We’ve just returned from our relaxing break at Rose Cottage. Everything was provided and so dog friendly. Anne provided a wonderful welcome pack and we had the most wonderful homemade Victoria sponge to enjoy. The property is so close to the beach and the chip shop, cafe and shop are all within walking distance so no need to move the car. The location was great for walks to Mundesley and if you feel brave then you can walk to Sea Palling. I would highly recommend this cottage and I hope we can return soon.

Lovely little cottage, very close to the sea front and secure yard. The welcome park of bread, coffee and cake was a nice touch, especially the dog biscuits. Noisy RAF jets fly over every day around 4pm which was upsetting for anxious dog. Friendly pub just down the road Poacher’s Pocket,

So glad you enjoyed the closeness to the beach - it's ideal to have the dog friendly pub, 2 x cafes, fish and chips and a village shop all a short walk away. I am sorry the jets were a bother - completely out of our control of course and certainly not a daily occurence every week - it was unfortunate they were practicing while you were here. Given the awful events happening in Eastern Europe it is reassuring that they are practicing their defence skills.

Comfortable, good location, easy to find. Excellent amenities. We reported two problems/suggestions which were immediately addressed. Welcome pack was the best I've ever had. The quick unobtrusive text on arrival to check all was OK, was welcoming. Recommended Shannon's Pet Sitting Services was brilliant, very professional. Resident neighbours very friendly too. A very good experience and if considering a break in Norfolk again, would not hesitate to use Ruston Cottages again

This is our second visit to Rose cottage this year what drew us back was the closeness to the beach & the lovely house that has everything you could need plus more. Our two greyhounds love the beach the kingfisher fish & chip shop & cafe is a 2 minute walk away with delicious fish & chips the 2 pubs that are close by are also dog friendly

We stayed 4 nights at Rose Cottage and had a great stay. Cottage was clean and confortable and our puppy, for which this was her first time away, settled in immediately. Our host Anne was friendly but not overbearing and a very nice welcoem pack awaited us. Location was excellant, we could hear the waves from the cottage and the beach was perfect

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. A great location if you’re looking for peace and quiet and endless sandy beaches with a great little chippy and friendly locals. It’s a short drive to Cromer if you want to see more people and there are loads of other places to visit nearby.
Rose cottage itself was pristine, we had wonderful hot showers and the beds were super comfortable. WIFI was excellent and we made good use of our Netflix subscription in the evenings while the dogs slept on the comfy bed provided. Big thanks to our hosts for the welcome package and birthday surprise! We’ll definitely be back :)

The cottage was excellently equipped. The welcome was complete when provisions were found to include a fresh Victoria sandwich, a tiger loaf and a packet of dog biscuits. We were struck by just how amazingly convenient it was for dogs. We had a young Vizsla with us and having the beach just up the lane was fantastic for walks at any time of day.

If you like waking up to the sound of the sea this is the place to stay. If you dogs are beach monsters it’s perfect. Anne the owner is a lovely lady & she was in touch with us before we arrived. Lots of lovely goodies left for us & the boys, the garden is fully secure with a nice big table, a BBQ & an outside tap for sandy feet & paws. The rest of the house is well equipped with everything you need for a week away by the sea. We would definitely book again Another great ERC property
