We came to stay here to visit Thursford which is just 40 mins away. It was great to be able to bring our dogs with us and be able to leave them in the property for a little while. Not all holiday cottage companies let you do this. We also had a recommendation for a dog sitter called The Fairy Dog Lover and she was great. She came to meet us and called to feed them while we were at Thursford. The property was so practical as well with non slip vinyl flooring throughout and access to a secure garden. The welcome pack was also great. Everything you need for a first nights stay and also included lots of doggie treats. Everything was comfortable. The village is very quaint and it was easy to walk the dogs although you do need a torch at night. The pub was excellent and was well stocked and did great food. It's a good place to have access to the coast and also North Walsham is only 10 mins away with all the services you need. Norwich is also not too far away. Would totally recommend this place

well this is why we choose east ruston holiday and always go to swallowdale.
i unfortunately had a nasty fall on the beach day one of our holiday and broke my wrist.

sue (at east ruston)
and caroline (the owner of swallowdale)
went above and beyond to make sure i was ok, had transport and everything we needed to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible.

this is why we go back twice a year as swallowdale is so dog friendly! that while i was stuck in hospital my dogs had everything they needed at the bungalow.

caroline always makes sure you have everything you need!

i would never go anywhere else as i feel like its home from home. the only downfall is i never want to leave and get really bad holiday blues when we do!

We recently stayed with our 4 Labradors, all of which have different needs. The location and secure garden was perfect for our reactive rescue, Poppy, quiet with few people passing by and 6' fencing so she couldn't see out. The dog friendly non slip flooring throughout the bungalow was much appreciated by our 17 year old, Bailey, who is a bit unsteady on her feet. No trips or falls and she was able to access the garden via the ramp at the conservatory doors. The 2 young boys, Jack & Daniel, 20 months, made the most of being allowed on the sofa by snuggling up at every opportunity. The garage is full of everything you need for your dogs - bowls, throws for the furniture, towels and beds, which we used but we also saw buggies and crates. A lovely welcome pack of food was there for us on arrival, plenty for breakfast the next day as well as the all important milk for tea! This was much appreciated as we arrived late and didn't have time to get to the shops. Although a little inland, it is only a short drive to access the beach at Mundesley and other resorts & beaches are within 20 or so minutes driving time. Shopping & other facilities are are 5 to 10 minute drive away in North Walsham. All in all a very relaxing, chilled out stay.

We had a super last minute break at Swallowdale. Our second stay and it disappoint. The property is real comfortable and well equipped for all you would need. The garden is completely secure. A great location for walks and visits to the beach. We look forward to coming back, again.

We had a fabulous week at Swallowdale. It is the most dog equipped and friendly property I’ve ever stayed in. Catered perfectly for one old and one young dog, the enclosed garden is ideal. The welcome pack was fantastic full of lovely produce. We all had a fantastic time on the beaches at Bacton, Happisburgh, Mundesley and Cart Gap. Lots of lovely dog friendly cafes and pubs around, the local in Trunch is very welcoming and nice food. We loved Watson’s at Bacton after a beach walk for coffee and cake. Trip to see the seals at Horsey was great followed by tea at Poppylands. Also had a lovely afternoon in Holt and another in Cromer.
All in all just perfect. We hope to be back soon

This was our 2nd stay at Swallowdale & we were just as impressed as the first. A very generous welcome package awaited us & the dogs, we enjoyed a very much needed cup of tea with a wonderful Norfolk cookie, & the dogs enjoyed their homemade dog treats too.
Everything in the house was wonderfully clean & tidy, & the dog supplies (in the garage) were really useful; especially the steps for the dachshunds to get on to the sofa & the MudDaddy came in very handy with the collies.
Swallowdale is a great base for visiting the beach & local National Trust properties. Thanks to the good weather we were able to be out walking everyday, which we & the dogs thoroughly enjoyed.
A great break & hope to come back again soon.

I stayed at Swallowdale for a long weekend with my mum and our 2 dogs. It was such a perfect property for us! There was everything we needed and more. We felt so at home and our dogs loved it. The quiet walks from the door were great, we were sad not have have longer there to explore.
The property was so dog friendly, having dog beds, blankets and crates we could use saved lots of packing space. The garden isn’t huge but so secure, we had no worries about letting them outside.
We hope to come back next year!

We had a lovely long weekend staying at Swallowdale. The accommodation was exactly what we required with the access to the garden from one of the bedrooms. An amazing Welcome Pack was left for us. The cottage was in a good quiet area but close enough to all the various beaches to walk our dogs on.

Despite the weather we had an enjoyable time at Swallowdale. Welcome pack exceptional - very generous thank you and Rio says thank you for his treats. Having a secure garden for Rio, our Border Terrier, was great, we could let him out without worry. As we are both getting on in years and mobility is a bit of an issue we need accommodation on one level so Swallowdale was ideal.

Great clean and spacious accommodation in a nice area. Everything we needed was supplied and plenty of spares too. The humans welcome package was much appreciated, as was the doggy one. Nice sized garden for our two to play in and plenty of walks around the area to wear them out.
Short drive away there are plenty of beaches, lots of sand and water for the dogs to run off their dinner and treats.
We all had a great time on a much needed break, was great to find somewhere so accommodating for our furry family.

We booked a short stay at short notice at Swallowdale as we hadn't been away since March. Lovely bungalow located not far from the North Norfolk coast. Everything we needed was provided.... even a paddling pool for the dog which he was thrilled about!

Very clean and well maintained and very dog friendly. Would highly recommend.

Trunch is a very quiet peaceful village which suited us fine. Swallowdale was an exceptionally good property, probably the best equipped we had ever rented. This is our 3rd cottage with East Ruston Cottages and it was fabulous, very dog friendly, close to the beach and woods (both by car), pub in village, excellent local shop that just about has everything you need in Walcott. Very comfortable 4 nights, lovely hamper for the humans and plenty of dog toys. Information folder supplied of local dog friendly places was very useful and worth a read. Garden very secure with outdoor seating.

Stayed for a week recently. Well equipped bungalow in a nice quiet village. Good road networks for visiting the local area and dog friendly beaches. Supermarkets not too far away. Would love to visit again, but unfortunately due to lots of military aircraft noise our 10 year old dog who suffers from noise anxiety was quite stressed at times.

Not a word I use much but it is certainly very apt here. Arrived late after the journey from hell but the welcome packs for humans and dogs were a welcome surprise. Spent the weekend chilling in the conservatory and garden waiting for the crowds to subside. Spent the week discovering North Norfolk. Lovely place, worthy of top score all round.

Very lovely holiday home. Modern and everything is well stocked, particularly for dogs. It is a home from home with a lovely plentiful welcome food package provided by the owner . You can even watch Netflix! Garden is of a good size . Lots of toys and bowls crate or dog buggies available to use. Great location to beaches Bacton and Seapalling to name a couple . Short drive to Cromer Sheringham and Bacton woods . Local pub for meals or just a drink. Lovely village location with lots of walks . Our 2nd visit to this property. A wonderful flower bouquet was also left for our Anniversary.

Swallowdale is the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed, everything our cocker spaniel could need was there. He had a wonderful, relaxing stay (being a reactive dog he finds relaxing difficult at times). The area was so quiet and peaceful, a real home from home. Us humans also enjoyed our stay with a very well equipped kitchen and 4 of the best nights sleep we have had in a long time! We can also highly recommend Bacton Woods (only 10 minutes away) for some lovely dog walks. We all had a great holiday and will be booking with East Ruston Cottages again as the level of dog friendliness can not be beaten.

This is our second stay at swallowdale and all I can say is it’s like HOME FROM HOME!
The dogs knew as soon as we drove into the estate where we was. They made themselves at home. The dog flooring thru the house definitely helps when they are playing so they don’t slip!

We forgot the dog bowls but Caroline always makes sure she has plenty in the garage.

We are vegan and Caroline always makes sure we have a hamper catered to that. Which is so lovely as she always goes above n beyond.

We will only ever stay with east Ruston, and only ever at swallowdale as we find Caroline has everything for the dogs.
Prams, cages of different sizes, throws, bowls, dog flooring, games if ur bored (which I doubt u will be)
Kitchen is always to a high standard.

The arm chair is Devine it’s so comfy u wont want to get out!

We have booked again for October and march next year!

After working flat out over Christmas & New Year in our pub, it was lovely to escape to Norfolk for a few days and Swallowdale was definitely a home from home. Clean, warm, comfortable and very dog friendly with everything thought about for dogs including beds, towels, throws and bowls (and much more we didn't use). Loved the dog friendly non slip flooring throughout plus the enclosed garden, ideal for reactive dogs. Well equipped kitchen for the humans with the generous welcome pack much appreciated. Beaches, local towns and villages all within easy driving distances made Trunch the ideal location to explore this lovely part of England.

Swallowfield is very well equipped, and was warm with comfortable beds. The back garden is 100% dog proof, and sniffy. The area is very quiet, and central to lots of places to visit. A nice welcome pack for both humans and dog. Had a nice meal at the pub in the village.

The single-storey accommodation is great for me. The totally secure back garden was perfect for our two English Setters. The bed was comfortable, the furniture was beautiful, solid oak and functional. The proximity to beaches and small towns was ideal and the bungalow was in a quiet, residential area.
The thought which had gone into providing everything dog owners might need for their pets had really impressed me in the extensive guidance notes. We had travelled from Derbyshire and arrived about 6 pm in darkness and light rain, in mid-November. There are no street lights so it took a while to find the right bungalow with our small torch.
Unfortunately, we could find none of the amazing dog equipment because we couldn’t find the garage door key until the next morning. Luckily, I had brought some stuff of our own so we managed but it was frustrating at the time. A simple card in the kitchen to tell guests where the garage door key is located which would have made all the difference.
Everything was spotlessly clean. The appliances worked really well and went beyond expectations, with the exception of the toaster which really only warmed the bread. The calcium deposits on the kettle are a bit unsightly. We didn’t actually use the television but wifi was very good in the living room. The dogs loved the garden. The welcome pack was particularly generous and greatly appreciated.
Thank you for making us welcome. It was our first visit to this part of Norfolk and we loved it.

Brilliant stay at Swallowdale, inside the property was immaculate & clean. Outside was secure for the bigger dogs, but I did report a couple of issues to the owner as our mini dachshunds could have escaped but still no acknowledgment of my email a week after our break!
It catered for everything you’d possibly need for both the dogs & guests alike, & the welcome package was both generous & delicious.
Great location, quiet location with easy access to both the beach & the Broads.
I was hoping to book again for next year but as the price of Swallowdale has doubled, I am unable to afford a return visit. Which is such a shame as we all enjoyed our stay.

Arrived in bright sunshine to an immaculate property, so clean and tidy. Only (very minor) issue was our car and roof box wouldn't fit under the carport, not really a problem. The bungalow was opened and what a great welcome hamper for dogs and humans was found. Weather was soo warm on Saturday we lounged in the garden all day and recovered from the long journey. When we ventured out Sunday we stumbled across the Norfolk Greyhound Rescue collecting money, having two rescue greys ourselves we of course donated. Back to the property though, it offered all we expected and more for hounds and slaves alike. Well stocked garage offered all we needed and more. We know too pack a little lighter next year. Unfortunately, the weather took a turn for the worse on our last night, matching our moods and having to leave the next morning. Our sixth visit to Norfolk and the last three were with ERC, well the next trip here will also be with ERC, booked it on our fourth day. Fabulous property, would highly recommend.

We wanted to escape the carnival crowds in Cromer, where we live,for some chill out time. We travelled just a few miles inland, but the difference was amazing. I think we saw about 6 people over three days. The bungalow is in a quiet residential area with good access to country walks. We spent most of our time in the conservatory. Being local we didn't do any touristy things, but can recommend the bungalow for a chill out time. Good welcome pack.

We spent a long time looking on a number of sites looking for what we were after, a detached property in an area that wasn’t too busy. This was our rescue dog Archie’s first holiday since we got him 5 years ago, usually he would stay at home but we wanted to try taking him away to see how he would get on.
Swallowdale was perfect for us. The enclosed garden meant we didn’t need to worry about Archie exploring a little too far, whilst the way the property is laid out meant we could shut him out of areas like the kitchen when we needed to.
The property was spotless and considering a lot of dogs must visit, you couldn’t tell! It also had everything we could need, the hosts have thought of everything!
The welcoming goodies for both Archie and us were unexpected but very much appreciated and ever so thoughtful.
The location was such that a lot of the places we wanted to drive to and visit were about 10 - 15 minutes away, so a great location for nipping out and back again. Trunch itself, the area the bungalow is located was so peaceful and quiet and I was very excited to see some bats flying overhead one evening!
On contacting Caroline the host, she was quick to respond and ever so welcoming.
We had such a wonderful time and wouldn’t hesitate in returning.
Thank you Caroline and thank you East Ruston Cottages for creating safe havens like this for our dogs. We just need you to expand to cover the whole country now! ;) x

We had an enjoyable long weekend break with Darcy our golden retriever at Swallowdale. Impressed with the doggy goodie bag and human one! No need to rush out to the shops on arrival. Good location to get to Bacton and Mundsley beaches and not far from Cromer. Very comfy beds and sofa.

Our fifth holiday booking through ERC. As usual, the property was spotlessly clean. Swallowdale had lots of dog beds, toys, bowls, throws etc so no need to worry if you'd left anything at home. The welcome pack for both humans and dogs was excellent. The location is great for reactive or nervous dogs as it's very peaceful. The fully enclosed garden ensures no worries about escapees. Quiet beaches and country walks are easily reached. Dogs and humans enjoyed a very comfortable stay. I would highly recommend this property and ERC as the customer service is excellent. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

From booking to the end of our holiday the whole experience was made easy. Details about the property were exact and made available in good time prior to arrival.
Swallowdale is a home from home. We have 4 dogs who can be anxious when in new surroundings but they settled very easily.
The attention to detail in equipping the house is second to none and the large supply of dog equipment in the garage saved us so much packing and loading/unloading of the car.
One of our dogs is disabled and struggles to walk so the flooring was excellent for his safety.
The information and recommendations for the local area was very informative and helpful
The furniture was all very comfortable especially the bed.
The dog welcoming policy ensured no stress as our dogs like to be with us for cuddles

The bungalow is comfortable and well equipped. Beds were comfortable, and the location is peaceful. The conservatory was a nice place to sit, but 3 blinds were not working, so it got hotter than we would have liked. A more than generous welcome pack was provided. The circular walk around Trunch is well kept with lovely views,

Unfortunately the grass front and back had not been cut for some time, and that made keeping the garden tidy after the dogs more difficult, and involved wetter feet and ankles than should be necessary. Surely the housekeepers should be reporting the uncut grass on their visits? We made contact with the owner, who kindly offered a voucher off a future ERC property holiday, but we declined as we did not know when we would be in the area again. We asked for the amount to be added to the return deposit, but that did not happen.

Nice property. Bit of a squeeze for four adults, plus 3 dogs that like to sit on laps or very close to you, but lots of dog friendly extras available, including the sofa steps which my aging little one appreciated. Very nice welcome pack and conservatory great for reading in.

Easy travelling to Bacton, Happisburgh, Cromer areas. Local pub, The Crown definitely worth a visit.

Couple of things that would be “nice to have” possibly some hooks on outside wall under car port as got caught in downpours and nowhere to obviously hang soggy coats, leads and harnesses without creating puddles on the floors. Also a stool or chair in the double bedroom would be useful when getting changed and the towels provided were lovely but we bought some bath sheets during our visit for some extra coverage. These are not criticisms, merely suggestions going forward.

Swallowdale was a great find. A very clean comfortable bungalow in the village of Trunch. The most dog friendly place we have ever stayed, there was everything you could possibly need for a dog. The garage was like a little treasure trove with dog beds, bowls, dog buggies, throws and so much more. A fully enclosed rear garden makes for a relaxing stay.
For the humans there was an incredible welcome pack, so much more than the usual biscuits and milk..kept us going all week. The property was equipped with everything we could possibly need, on site parking. Can’t fault it at all

Swallowdale is in a lovely quiet location, was absolutely spotless warm welcoming.
Lovely walks and fantastic beaches which our guys loved.
We are very grateful and much appreciated the welcome pack Thank you.
The conservatory was also a lovely place to chill especially after an adventurous day out, again , the crew would go out and chill out as though it was theirs
Lovely enclosed,very secure quiet garden which our guys loved pottering around in.
We had added extras , which did come in very handy

Two of our crew insisted the footstool was the best place to sleep

Wow, what can we stay, the verity of things available for the dogs was unbelievable, a dozen or more different dog bows, half a dozen dog beds, 3 dog buggies. Amazing choice. As for the bungalow it was warm & cosy in a quiet residential street, the beds were comfortable it really had everything we needed for a much needed battery recharge. The owners really had provided everything you could ever need & a wonderful welcome basket. We would definitely stay again. One word to sum up. Perfect ❤️

We arrived at Swallowdale on Friday. Opening the door for our spaniel to explore we were met with a generous welcome hamper and impeccably presented and clean home from home.

Our spaniel loved the property, enjoyed running around on the flooring (she has a tendancy to slide around on normal wood flooring).

Garden was perfect with patio for a dog loo when the grass was too soggy. She loved the secret pathway for sniffing.

The location in Trunch was perfect for trips to Sheringham, Cromer and Norwich as well as local walks.

We had a lovely week here. Walks from the village are varied and found some beautiful places. Easy to get to both the North and East coasts - great walks at Blakeney/Cley, Bacton, Happisburgh, Mundesley and on the Paston Way. Bungalow a real home from home and has everything you could need - and a fantastic welcome goodies pack. Thoroughly recommended.

WOW! Having stayed at many ERC locations since 2019. What can i say! Our first stay here and what a lovely place! Lights were in when we arrived! The welcome pack for me was amazing and totally unexpected!! The garage is like an aladin’s cave with as many spare dog beds/dishes/throws/towels/drier!!/cages/buggies as you can imagine!! Luckily we carry a mudaddy with us so didn’t need to use the one there! But mu goodness! The best night sleep I've had in months! We had a minor hiccup of a puncture yesterday but didn’t stop us exploring. Went for some lovely walks in some new places and visited old favourites. And had to stop off at watsons cafe hehe! One of my aging dogs hates slippery floors! I was emailed prior to our stay by sue and caroline the cottages owner. To let me know that the flooring at the cottage had been especially chosen for older dogs. It sounded too good to be true but my boy walked on it perfectly after an initial scare as he always does. But he was walking about on it without a care in the world! Which for me is an amazing thing as I always have to bring spare anti slip rugs/matts/vet beds etc and we never have enough! This made my life and his soo much better and easier! We were also offered a later check out time. I can honestly say WOW! One of my favourites bar farthing & edelweiss!! ☺️ (i hope the neighbours weren’t to annoyed at their barking! Only thing i wished id ask how to use was the electric fire. We will be back xx

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Swallowdale - clean, comfortable, welcoming and in a great location. Great attention to detail with lots of extras that just made the holiday. When we are away with the dogs, their needs come first and that really was the case at Swallowdale. The name tags were particularly good, and cute! All the canine equipment available was really useful to know it was there. The garden is really secure, even for our large breed, and we loved that they could mooch safely without being supervised every minute. The flooring was fabulous and took a lot of worry away knowing they couldn't slip. We made use of the circular walk maps that were in the information pack and enjoyed the walks we could do directly from Swallowdale. The local pub really is dog friendly and made us feel really welcome. For us the property was spotlessly clean, the kitchen had everything you would need; I liked that there were cleaning products and equipment so it made cleaning up easier. The whole place was comfortable and relaxing- such a quiet but central location. We loved the selection of books, especially the Arthur Ransome stories, and enjoyed some competitive board games!! Finally, the welcome pack was fabulous for us and the dogs! Thank you for a wonderful break.

Swallowdale was such a good find .Amazing bungalow everything you could ask for in the kitchen. Beds was very comfortable. Front room the same. small but very lovely garden dogs loved it with all the smells. Of a different area. You got out side chairs to use if needed. A conservatory as well . On arrival meet the owner Caroline lovely lady nothing was any trouble .she left us a beautiful welcome pack the best we ever had .
A very restful stay and relaxing deffernley on our back to stay list. Ps if you have ev car will need a 7 meter charging cable at least to charge

Having had the pleasure of staying at various ERC properties since 2019 I can honestly say Swallowdale is very worthy of being part of their collection. An absolutely fabulous welcome pack for humans and dogs was most unexpected but very well received. The bungalow is located on a very peaceful cul-de-sac and has a secure garden with lovely garden chairs in the shed. Lots of accessories inside to assist with cooking & keeping things tidy although we didn't locate the oven gloves there were ample supply of tea towels. Comfy beds, good separate walk in shower & Smart TV/books/games to keep entertained.
Good variety of dog walks from the door and the mud daddy and dog dryer were very useful for post walk washdowns.

We try to have some time away with our dogs at least once a year and like to find a different part of the country to explore. As a result we never quite know what the accommodation will be like. Swallowdale definitely exceeded expectations with a property that is exceptionally easy to manage with dogs. The welcome packs, both for humans and dogs, were extremely generous and made us feel completely at home for the week that we stayed. There is an extensive supply of different equipment for dogs, so if you have forgotten something, it will probably be there. The blast dryer was great after a trip to the beach! Although we arrived during the hottest week of the year, the close availability of a large variety of wooded walks, not to mention a full coastline of beaches, meant that we were able to keep our hot dogs cool! A big thank you to Caroline for supplying isotonic dog drinks, very thoughtful. We loved Norfolk, and would definitely use East Ruston Cottages again.

After staying at other dog friendly holiday homes with 'enclosed gardens'. it turned out that the gardens were NOT escape proof, leading to our dog having to be onlead for the whole of his holiday, which was very stressful for the rest of us. Not only that he has a floor phobia and we always had to take rugs for him to walk on.
Not so with this Holiday home! The garden has a 6ft + fence all around it, there is no way out so we could just let our dogs go in and out even at night and the floor is especially designed to be slip proof for dogs too!
When we arrived the place was spotless and when we opened the fridge it had a full breakfast of local sausages and bacon , eggs, ham, milk, butter and a chilled bottle of Cava! On the counter was a fresh loaf and other treats. What a welcome!
The facilities were great, a TV in every room and comfortable beds. The bathroom has a bath AND a shower cubicle. In the garage there is everything you need for your dogs too. In sheds there is garden furniture. The conservatory is a lovely place to sit with a drink and a book looking out onto the garden with it's little 'secret garden' feature. The whole area is quiet and peaceful.
We visited Happisburgh Beach where our dog could run at top speed without him going missing, he is a Sighthound and these dogs just take off and run into the distance, but this beach was just perfect for him we could see him and there was nowhere for him to go with steep cliffs which made it enclosed and safe for him.
We only went for 4 nights but it was just what we all needed.
We will return, knowing that this is the perfect place to take your dogs and a perfect place to unwind.

We had a very enjoyable short break at Swallowdale. The accommodation was warm, clean and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped and doggie equipment/accessories extensive. A very generous welcome pack was also provided for us and the dog. With an anxious and sometimes reactive dog the information provided before our stay was extremely helpful and honest in terms of location, noise levels and the security of the garden. It provided the reassurance we needed. The location also provided a great base from which to explore Norfolk, both the coast and inland. We will definitely book again, either at this property or another.

Lovely clean modern bungalow with everything you need for a great holiday. No need to fill the car with your doggies beds, bowls etc it's all provided as is a very generous welcome pack for the humans. Enclosed private garden is great for relaxing. Ideal village location as a base for trips around Norfolk. This was our second holiday with East Ruston cottages and it certainly won't be our last.

Welcome pack outstanding . The bungalow had everything for the dogs. Garden fully secure . Lovely peaceful village. Pleasant walks around the village for the dogs. Had everything we wonted above expectations. Customer service first class. Will definitely be booking through East Ruston Cottages again and more than likely returning back to Swollodale as home from home.

The amazing welcome pack for us and our dog was the confirmation that this was a good decision to try self catering again. The enclosed garden and quiet location was another bonus. Our dog settled straight away and we had uninterrupted nights of sleep for all of us. The added provisions for all ages and sizes of dogs was a unique positive. The nearby beaches of Happisburgh and Cart Gap with the cliff top walks were really relaxing. Really a home from home and recommended with no hesitation.

We have been holidaying in numerous cottages over several years,-ever since we have had dogs and one is 13 so have a lot of experiance of self catering.
Swallowdale has definately been one of the best cottages as it is so very clean, well fitted out and arranged. The provisions were superb and extremely welcoming. Trunch is a lovely village of friendly people many of whom seemed to have dogs . The pub was close by and sold newspapers too as there is no local shop. The only reason which would stop us booking again is that there is nowhere within walking distance (that we were advised of by locals) where the dogs could be taken to run off lead.
It was unfortunate for us that the weather prevented us making use of the sun loungers and garden chairs which very few places provide- would be a great bonus as the garden is lovely. The conservatory is however lovely to sit and relax in.
We could thoroughly recommend this cottage if you want to stay in the area and explore the surroundings

Our first ERC booking - having wanted to book for a long time. It didn't disappoint! Swallowdale was a real home from home where you instantly felt relaxed and comfortable. The garden was very secure, so it was nice to fully relax and let he dogs just do as they pleased with coming and going from the garden.

One of our party has mobility issues and we needed a ground floor bedroom and bathroom, and this was just perfect. We all enjoyed the garden and the conservatory for morning coffee. We also enjoyed a BBQ while there, and although it appeared we were the first to use the new BBQ we had everything we needed in terms of kitchen utensils other than metal kebab skewers, which we purchased and happily donated for future guests.

I cannot fault Swallowdale or ERC and we just can't wait to return one day.

A last minute booking for a short break at Swallowdale and it didn't disappoint. We've stayed in other ERC properties many times, but this was the first visit to Swallowdale.

The bungalow is extremely clean and tidy, furniture and bed very comfy. LOVELY to have a new, decent smart TV for chilling out in the evening with - all set up with Netflix and ready to use. The garden is completely secure with very high fencing. The conservatory is a nice suntrap in the afternoons, great for chilling out with a book and a cuppa.

I didn't stray far, walks around the village and a trip to the beach each day. Overall, another 5* for ERC and 5* for Swallowdale and it's owners for making it so pleasant.

We have visited many ERC properties and Swallowdale didn’t disappoint, from the generous welcome pack to the comfy beds,
Located conveniently for our favourite beaches, Bacton , Walcott and Cart gap.
The two dogs loved it and have come home for a rest !

Having stayed at Farthing cottage twice before and other ERC properties I had high hopes for Swallowdale. It didn’t disappoint!
Such a generous welcome pack full of goodies, everything about Swallowdale is perfect for a relaxing break. Garden is great and very secure, I felt comfortable leaving the door open for my reactive boy whilst I was in the living room. He particularly enjoyed sunbathing in the conservatory!
The layout of the property is great, you can shut the kitchen door and still have run of everywhere else if like my boy, you have a food there and counter surfer. The flooring is fabulous and Tom didn’t slip once, particularly important as he has joint issues.
There are some great local walks and a short drive to the beaches, we loved Bacton and Overstrand, both have lots of space at low tide. We will be back next year

The fenced back garden was perfect for us, and the home comfortable and in a lovely quiet neighborhood with good short walks around. We enjoyed sitting in the extension where we could watch our dogs enjoy the secure garden. Excellent communication with the owner of the property, and many local treats welcomed our arrival. This property is perfect for a dog capable of escaping, but we would also recommend this property for any dogs.

We were one of the first guests to stay at the lovely new Swallowdale. The communication from the owner and ERC beforehand was excellent as always. This was our 5th stay with ERC and we hope to have many more! Swallowdale is very well thought out for both humans and dogs. The Floors for Paws flooring is great for older dogs and the garden is completely secure. There is everything you could need for the dogs - throws, bowls, beds, toys etc and they settled happily straight away. The kitchen is very well equipped and everything was easy to use. The beds & sofas are very comfortable and there is a lovely armchair & footstool we had to fight the dogs for! We all loved the sunny conservatory to relax in. Located in the beautiful village of Trunch with walks straight from the door or a short drive to nearby beaches. All the information you need is provided in the welcome pack and the digital guide.
