This was a return visit to The Crib and was just as good as we remembered it. There were lovely walks straight from the cottage either to the beach, along the cliff top paths or local footpaths. We had everything we needed in the property and more. The welcome pack was exceptional and delicious! Such a comfortable, cosy cottage with an open fire (and a huge basket of logs, kindling etc). The garden was safe and secure and I never worried about letting our dogs out there as I knew they couldn’t escape. We had a wonderful time and will definitely book again in the future.

Perfect cottage with a fab big garden that our 6 dogs absolutely loved . Plenty of off road parking , the beach is just a few minutes walk away so we didn’t move the car until our return home. We will definitely be back , we really appreciated the welcome goodies for us and our dogs . Lots of feeding bowls and dog beds a real home from home for us all.

We had a wonderful week staying at The Crib. The 3 spaniels really enjoyed exploring the fabulous garden and with the beach only a 5 minute walk away loved swimming and running on the beach. The humans enjoyed their down time too!

Right from our initial enquiry, ERC couldn't have been more helpful. They allowed us to book 6 nights instead of 7, which fitted in with our plans. Having booked with ERC before, we took advantage of the repeat booking discount, and looked forward to our much needed holiday. We had our 11 month old crawling Grandson with us, as well as an active Border Collie and a reactive Jack Russell, so we knew we'd have our hands full. When we arrived (having received some excellent digital guides from ERC about the cottage and area), we were taken aback with the property. An amazing welcome pack with so many items we hadn't expected, both for humans and the dogs! The cottage was warm and welcoming after a long journey, and spotlessly clean. With a crawling baby, our expectations were realistic regarding dogs hairs in hard to reach corners, but it was spotless, even the multiple dog beds had no hairs! That leads me onto the 'dog' equipment and facilities - there was nothing that the owners hadn't thought of: towels, throws, excellent dog beds, a variety of bowls, leads, harnesses and jumpers, even some dog shampoo and an outside hot and cold hosepipe! The kitchen was a great size, and so was the garden (fully enclosed). It wasn't a long walk to the beach and the famous lighthouse, and also close to the local pub which was friendly and welcoming. The open fire was a nice treat after spending time exploring the area. The only downside for us is the distance from home, which rules out weekend stays or anything less than 6/7 nights. But other than that, we would 100% recommend this property - it's actually nicer and bigger than it shows on the website, the pictures don't do it justice. Thank you.

The cottage is a wonderful home from home. Everything is thought of for dogs and humans. The garden is large and very secure. The cottage is well equipped and the kitchen is fantastic, with everything you could possibly need. It is in a perfect position in the village with a 5 minute walk to the beach or the pub. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay in the Crib. The house and garden was a good size for 4 adults and 2 dogs with private parking. The property is very well maintained and the dogs very well catered for. (Watch out for the rabbits in the garden though!)
We (humans and dogs) were left a welcome pack which was very gratefully received.
Plenty of local info/maps available.
Very quiet village away from touristy areas,but exactly what we wanted!

We had a lovely few days here with the dogs. The wooden floors and leather sofas made it much easier to be in than other dog friendly properties we have used. It was really spacious and had many useful things so we could pack light. The owner was super friendly when booking and left a lovely welcome pack. We will certainly be booking again for another stay.

We’ve been to The Crib many times and appreciate the dog friendly welcome. It’s always clean and the owners continue to make improvements notably a new kitchen this year. Our rescue dog settles well and it’s extremely comfortable for the humans too.

Lovely cottage, very well equipped and to a high standard - it is a super set up and great for humans and canines alike.
The owners, Managers and Housekeeper do a great job in terms of administration and maintenance to ensure we had a great holiday.
Lovely welcome pack, nice touch.
Happisburgh is a nice place, lots of good walks and not too busy.

Helen and Chris have thought of everything you could possibly need for a truly dog holiday, the garden at the Crib is totally secure so you can relax knowing that your dog's are safe, the cottage itself is beautiful and the welcome pack we received was incredible thank you Helen, the Crib is short walk along the beach road to the dog friendly Happisburgh beach, Hill House pub is also a very short walk away and does lovely food,

Just back from our 4th ERC holiday, but first time at THE CRIB" Wow Wow Wow! what a beautiful cottage, amply equipped, and a welcome pack to die for!!Wasn't expecting this! And so very welcoming for our 2 doggies. I'd defy anyone to disagree that there was EVERYTHIG and more for the dogs and ourselves, and so spotlessly clean, so THANK YOU.

We loved this cottage so much that we booked again for next year as soon as we got home! We took our XL bully so it was very important that the cottage and garden were secure and safe. There were gates which we could lock with our own padlocks and the property was secure. Our dog is noise and dog reactive but we found with quiet music on he ignored any sounds from the pedestrians and road outside.

The cottage was clean, bright, airy and beautifully furnished. The garden is big and well kept.

The owners were very easily contactable and responsive to messages.

The whole experience was great. We loved it!

We had a great week at the Crib with our 3 hounds. The house was perfect for us and the dogs loved the extra comfy dog beds that were provided. The house was full of greyhound and lurcher paintings and ornaments so we really felt at home. Helen provided a very generous welcome pack and was on hand for any questions. We were the first people to stay after the new kitchen was fitted which has been done to a high standard and was very well equipped. Thanks for a lovely week away.

This was our second stay and The Crib was as lovely as we remembered- Fab garden for the dogs, cosy, quiet and just what we needed after the madness of Christmas.

Welcome pack was fantastic and the dogs absolutely loved the Orvis dog beds - nothing but 5 star for them throughout the cottage.

Both Sue and the owner Helen were great sorting out minor issues quickly, one caused by us!

We’ve stayed at many ERC cottages over the yrs we’ve been coming but this was our first time at the Crib . From the moment we entered we felt at home , such a well equipped, cosy cottage & so comfortable, the beds was like sleeping on fluffy clouds . The hamper that was left for us was amazing & very much appreciated by all .
Our girl enjoyed the garden along with the lovely selection of dogs beds that are in the cottage when we returned from our beach outings to relaxing in front of the roaring fire . ( Bliss ) !
Would we return again ? Already booked .

There really is nothing to fault. From the welcome pack on arrival to the attention to detail this cottage ticks every box for a truly dog friendly experience.
Super communication from ERC and the owners, tasteful and comfortable decor …. Blissful king size bed and a huge selection of canine accessories including beds (although Lyra still wants to bring her favourite chair home)
I would highly recommend this cottage although that might work again me when I want to book again!

It was our second visit to the crib with our 6 dogs and this time took our daughter, her partner, two grandchildren and there dog with us. The crib is absolutely fantastic, everything you could ever wish for plus more. An extra stair gate and travel cot were provided free of charge and a lovely welcome pack for us humans and dogs. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners of the crib and the east rushton team. We would not entertain holidaying with anyone else.

Our 2nd visit to The Crib and loved it just as much as the 1st. Everything is supplied, sofas and beds are extremely comfortable. Very generous welcome pack, enjoyed by ourselves and Teddy, our cockapoo loved his biscuits. Ideal position for the beaches (lots to choose from!) and plenty of walks in the woods. We stayed for our 56th Anniversary and had a great time and had a very relaxing week - Norfolk and The Crib is certainly our ‘happy place’. Thank you to Helen and Chris, Sue and all the Team.

We spent a wonderful week at The Crib and felt instantly at home from the moment we walked through the garden gate - so much so that we genuinely didn't want to leave. The huge garden was the first thing that greeted us, beautifully laid out with trees, shrubs and plants and rounded off with a sunny patio and garden furniture to make the most of the wonderful week of weather we were lucky enough to enjoy. We shared the garden with a lovely fox and a family of rabbits who kept the dogs on their paws with their daily bunny patrol!

The house itself is wonderfully decorated throughout with so many quirky pieces of art dotted around that showcase the owners' love of dogs and the local area. Being over 100 years old, the thick walls kept it nice and cool throughout the day and the large lounge with its comfy sofas and armchairs was a perfect spot to relax and chill after a day of exploring beach and countryside.

Location was perfect and a short stroll to the wonderful beach at the end of the road where the dogs could run for miles and splash about in the sea. The village has everything we needed too from the wonderful Fair Maiden fish shop where we stocked up on locally caught crab, to a friendly and very dog welcoming pub. All in walking distance - what more could you want?!

The welcome hamper was incredible and so generous with loads of treats for us as well as the locally produced Nero's Kitchen dog biscuits for the dogs. Everything the dogs could possibly need was there from throws to towels to spare leads, holiday tags, bowls etc. And the hot and cold outside tap was very welcome to hose down sandy paws along with the great supply of dog shampoo - which came in very handy when one of ours decided to cover themselves from head to tail in fox poo!

The Crib really is a home from home, a haven to relax and unwind in and most definitely gets the paw stamp of approval. We can't wait to come back.

A beautiful cottage, which was ideally situated in the lovely village of Happisburgh, 5 minutes walk to the beach.
The cottage was very well equipped with everything that we needed for ourselves and the dogs.
The whole place was very clean and comfortable, we had a perfect stay.
The dogs particularly enjoyed the safe and secure garden.

We stayed at the crib in happisburgh at the end of July, it was our first holiday in norfolk, & could not have asked for a better place to be based.
Great cottage with a huge garden for our dog & children to play in. All you could possibly need & more provided for humans & dogs too.
Lots of beautiful dog friendly beaches nearby, plenty of places to eat & a very comfortable cottage to go back to at the end of a busy day.

This was our fifth time at "The Crib"... whats to say? We love it there, its a perfect house and garden for us and our three dogs, who spent their time patrolling and chasing each-other about.

The kitchen and the equipment are a great size, and the three bedrooms are comfortable and nicely "doggy decorated"

We love East Ruston Cottages for their attention to detail. They are a little pricey but go the extra mile to make each stay really dog friendly with no compromises. It's never too much trouble to ask Sue or her team a question about the properties. If I had to pick a favourite place, then the Crib is probably the one. It has an idea location opposite Beach Road and a huge garden that was perfect in the hot weather. Inside are light, airy rooms that are just as lovely in winter too and clearly well loved by the owners.

The Crib was truly amazing, it has EVERYTHING we could have needed!
We loved that there was anything we could have needed in the kitchen, every type of pot or pan or tray, the sauces, the spices etc etc. The welcome pack was above and beyond - bacon, sausage, eggs, brownies, cheese, milk, dog treats and more - this was really appreciated and made the trip - we even tracked down some of the suppliers and went and bought more!

The lounge is large, plenty of seating space - there are many books on walks and recommendations nearby. So many games to play too.. connect four, monopoly, jigsaws etc etc, they’ve thought of everything.

And all the dog stuff: towels, throws, poo bags, shampoo, brushes, dog first aid kit, toys, a variety of beds and loved the warm hose for cleaning off a sandy dog.
We also really loved the style of the The Crib, very cosy, comfy, cottagey, and lots of dog-decor!

And all this a few mins walk from the beach… . The location is perfect - literally a 5 min walk (max!) to the beach, 2 mins to the local shop and maybe 7 minutes to the pub. We also visited Cromer, Winterson on Sea, Sea Palling, Bacton Woods, Mundesley and Horsey - most were within 15min drive, the max was 25min drive.

There were some dogs that barked a lot in the adjoining gardens, which didn’t bother our dog, I just mention in case it’s a factor for anyone else .. but overall an incredible place!

This was our first time staying at the crib and what can I say it was perfect.

It was very very dog friendly, the boot room is made for the dogs. Towel, throws, extra leads and coats (we had to use a lead as our dog cut her face with her slip lead so was very handy)

The dog beds was classed as heaven for our troop of 10. They was loving life in front of the fire laid on the cushion beds while some laid in the kitchen on the hi beds.

The dog gate at the bottom of the stairs was so handy so they couldn’t nip up.

Now the sofas well….. the German shepherd didn’t want to leave the armchair behind.
That was her heaven place.

We asked for a dog buggy as we had a puppy that had broken his front leg so wasn’t allowed to walk, this was sorted in no time!

The beds was very comfy and cozy, the rooms with the wooden floors just gave the cottage an extra cozy feel.

Now the garden was just amazing! It’s very secure for our little chihuahuas not to escape while very secure for our reactive German shepherd.
There was enough space to give the ball a good throw for the big dog while the little dogs ran after each other around the garden.

We spent some nights in the kitchen just talking while cooking and it was so relaxing. Very spacious and had everything you needed in there.

There was alot of dog bowls available too.

The crib was placed in the perfect place just a two min walk to the beach straight across the rd and omg we made the most of that.

There was everything on the doorstep too while staying at the crib which was very helpful.

We have already been looking at coming back to stay again. Very excited

This is our second visit to The Crib and from the moment we walked in the back gate we knew we had made the right decision to return. Even in winter the garden is so peaceful and structural plants give interest to green thumbs while the dogs race up and down the spacious area. There is a high fence all around and security lighting at night.

It’s been a year or so since our last visit but opening the boot room door brought a smile at the fabulously kitch watering can paper and chunky coat hooks - just as we remembered. Right from
the off it is clear that both two legs and four legs are catered to equally with a generous box of dog towels and throws, to a tray for muddy and sandy shoes. The doors throughout are gorgeous panelled and aged wood, adding cosiness to the cottage decor and comfy sofas and chairs. A big open fire is the centre point of the room. The bright kitchen is equipped with everything you’ll need for your stay and the 3 beautiful, airy bedrooms have pillowy beds and lovely wooden floors are throughout the house aside, with tiles and carpet here and there where appropriate. The bathroom has a large bath with shower and there is a loo upstairs and down in the boot room - perfect tor our needs.

The cottage is full of beautiful things to look at, all with a nod to dogs or the nearby beach. It’s uncluttered but interesting and you’ll feel your cares easing away as you chat around the dining table or relax on the sofa with a book.

The Crib is located opposite the road to the beach, and close to the Village Shop and a variety of cottage makers of dog biscuits and jams, as well as the famous lighthouse, church and dog friendly eating places. It’s perfect if you just want to stay in Happisburgh for a relaxing week without the car, or tour around the area and the extensive woodland and beach walks, pubs, restaurants and cafe’s to be found around this superbly dog-friendly area.

We will be back to the Crib again, hopefully more than once. The owners know exactly what makes a perfect holiday home.

The Crib is a beautiful cottage, perfectly located very near the beach, with a lovely, spacious and secure garden. The cottage has everything one needs for a restful holiday with multiple dogs, from several dog beds (HiK9 included), bowls, toys, dog towels and throws for sofas, Norfolk travel guides for dog owners and much more. Evenings by the fireplace after a beach walk were a treat. Highly recommend and will be back for sure.

We had a wonderful four-day stay at the Crib. A beautiful cottage which was extremely well equipped with good quality kitchen stuff, a warm open fire with plenty of logs and a lovely safe garden. Our 2 dogs were so well catered for they didn’t want to go home. A great location for dog walks and only a short hop to the great, historic and very dog friendly Hill House Inn.

Wow! We absolutely loved our stay at The Crib. Amazing location in the lovely village of Happisburgh, a very short walk to the gorgeous beach. The cottage is so comfy and clean and spacious. Has such a homely feel with lots of pictures and gorgeous hound and seaside themed items. Wonderfully comfortable extra king size bed. The large kitchen is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need, also lots of things for dogs, 4 large beds, towels, first-aid kit, bowls, coats, spare leads, etc, etc. Biscuits for dogs and amazing vegan welcome goodies for me. We really appreciated the little extras such as dishwasher tablets, hand wash, etc. The huge garden is lovely and totally secure. We absolutely cannot fault this beautiful property. 100% recommend!

The crib excelled our expectations, large kitchen/diner had everything you would need , lounge spacious with plenty of seating, throws so dogs can sleep on sofas, large dog beds , extra towels and throws in the boot room, the garden is very large and our dogs had an amazing time playing in it, the crib was truly a home from home. We spent a great week at The Crib with friends and our dogs, 5 in total!! The house was so dog friendly and equipped with dog bowls,beds,blankets,toys etc etc! There was no worry of them escaping the garden as it is totally enclosed.
There was a scrummy unexpected welcome package of local produce on arrival which was very much appreciated.
We spent most of our time walking the dogs on the local beaches. Unfortunately the access to the closest beach was temporarily closed during our stay due to the cliff edge in need of repair so we had to divert, otherwise it’s a 3 minute walk!!
The house is fully equipped with everything you would need and very homely with finishing touches and lots of doggy nick nacks!!

A houndie home from home.

Our New Year party consisted of myself, my husband, my sister and her greyhound, Charlie.
On arrival, we were surprised to find that both The Crib and it's garden were far bigger than the photos suggested. It was also immaculately clean, well equipped and Charlie wanted for nothing, even an Orvis bed, so for him it literally was a home-away-from-home, as the owners have a greyhound themselves. It also had the most comfortable beds that we've ever stayed in. In addition, a welcome basket was provided, the house was decorated for Christmas and the list of items provided for the dogs is endless.
If the attention to detail and information wasn't enough, we had a minor issue whilst staying which Helen (the owner), despite it being a bank holiday, quickly addressed and, after a mix up, Sue (ERC) personally shopped for, and delivered, our welcome basket. I can honestly say that we've never before had such thought and care at any other holiday rental, with both wishing us to have the best holiday possible.
Unfortunately, both the slip way ramp (erosion), despite people ignoring the signs and barriers, and post office/shop (refurbishment) were temporarily closed during our stay, both of which are beyond ERC's control but there's supermarkets at both Wroxham and North Walsham, and, as the cliff path was exceptionally muddy, we parked at Cart Gap to walk the beach so this was only a minor inconvenience.
To eat out, the Hill House Inn is literally a 5 minute walk from The Crib. It's a good old traditional pub, with a connection to Sherlock Holmes, frequented by the locals, dogs are welcome, doing excellent home cooked food and beer, and don't be surprised if the landlord sits down with you for a chat or if you fall into conversation with a local.
As we rarely return to the same area twice, we are unlikely to stay again however this is no slight on The Crib as we can highly recommend it for a holiday for both you and your dogs, and we have already done so to the #houndsof twitter, via Charlie's Twitter account.
Top Tip: Keep some change for the car parks as you will be charged more for card payment.

A really super cottage with everything beautifully geared towards the dogs with beds, crates, towels and throws provided, which made life so much easier with four on board. We arrived to a superb Christmas hamper, cards for us and the dogs and the cottage beautifully decorated and welcoming. The beach was only a very short walk away, which was another huge bonus. We had a very relaxing week here.

We had a truly wonderful holiday at The Crib. We have never stayed anywhere where we have felt so comfortable as soon as we arrived. Even our dog Rusty was feeling at home. It was so nice being able to have him join us everywhere in the house. The location was perfect for lots of beach walks and visits to other towns and villages. Rusty certainly enjoyed all his favourite things! The house had everything we could need and the little welcome package was a gorgeous touch. We did not want to leave at all and will be back again for more relaxing in front of that gorgeous fire.

To begin with full disclosure, we are biased, we LOVE The Crib...
This was our fourth time we have stayed here, and we are already booked in for next year.

We have ENORMOUS dogs and as such, we need a property with space both inside and outside, with good secure fencing...
The Crib has all of this in spades... The main living space is roomy and well "dogerated" - dog themed ornaments etc are everywhere...
The bedrooms are roomy and uncluttered... and the boot-room is perfect for storing your dog paraphernalia, and wiping dogs down when back from walks!

For us, its like a home from home... Lovely house, great facilities, excellent sized and well located - what's not to like!!!

Excellent experience after a long summer of being at home. Friendly local people. Our 3 dogs loved the secure garden and we were happy to let them roam unsupervised. Especially close to the beach for long walks.
Beds extremely comfortable, infact the whole cottage was . We have booked again for next year.

Wow - The Crib is a perfect dog friendly cottage with a really good sized garden and everything you could possibly wish for. So comfortable, warm, comfy, and well equipped, with many personal touches. Amazing welcome pack. The bedrooms are beautiful and the super king sized bed was so comfortable - the whole cottage is really relaxing.

Ideal position in Happisburgh with so many walks and beaches to choose from.

We have stayed at many of the East Ruston Cottages and have loved them all but The Crib has to be our most favourite!
Thank you to Helen for allowing us to stay in your amazing cottage and for the cream teas for our 54th anniversary, they were delicious - hope to return again (if you would let us)!

The Cottage has a lovely homely feel to it. Inside there is everything and more that you should need to have a great holiday. The Cottage is in a great location for some lovely walks straight from the back gate. It is a short walk to the beach and lighthouse. The garden is great for dogs.

We are so happy we stumbled across East Ruston cottages and The Crib. We needed a dog friendly cottage (not just dog tolerant) as our terrier cross can’t cope being separate from us. The Crib didn’t disappoint. It was the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed, whilst also being comfortable and very clean. We also appreciated the well stocked kitchen as we enjoy cooking together on holiday.
We came home feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Perfect dog friendly accommodation, with everything we needed for a warm and comfortable stay. The Crib is a lovely cottage in a pretty spot in Happisburgh. Lovely welcome pack. Good sized garden, sheltered from the sea breezes, and a seating area in a sunny corner. Our dogs Nell and Maggie (Border Collies) felt very much at home. Plenty of dog friendly beaches close by and lovely walks. Quiet part of North Norfolk with plenty to explore. Had a thoroughly enjoyable week and would love to go back.

We took our 6 hounds here and couldn’t believe how perfect it was for our needs - raised beds for our greyhounds; throws, spare collards leads and a muzzle, feeding stations and bowls (we didn’t use these as we had our own but still ...). The kitchen was amazing and well equipped; the garden was long enough for a good run and safely fenced for leaping hounds. Even the bed was comfortable (I’m SOOO fussy!) . There were many beaches really close by and even though 2nd lockdown started while we were there we were still able to visit lots of wild spaces for our and our dogs’ exercise. We’ve stayed in a lot of dog friendly accommodations and often we compromise on human comfort for our hounds’ comfort or have to spend the whole time trying to adhere to mad rules like not letting the dogs on the carpet etc - this place was comfortable relaxed and all our needs were met. We also had need of two local vets while we were there and they took were very friendly and helpful.

It was our third stay at The Crib and each time we have loved it. The cottage is very well equipped for ourselves and the dogs and the garden is very secure. The area is quiet with beautiful scenery and lots of pubs for meals. The welcome pack at the cottage is a bonus and was gratefully received after a 5.5 hour journey. Sue and her team are very helpful if you have any queries. I would recommend The Crib to anyone who loves walking and peace and quiet.

What can I say as soon as we walked in we thought WOW
Lovely property cosy and welcoming we had everything we needed for us and the dogs treats cool mats toys etc.

This is the second time we have stayed at The Crib in Happisburgh... We LOVE this place.

The house and garden are the most dog friendly and secure we have ever encountered.
We have 2 mastiffs (very large ones)... So the fact that The Crib is large, and the garden fencing is six foot high are important factors for us!

The facilities at the crib are just right and the dog theme around the house make you smile at every turn.

The whole area, and surrounding towns are great... had some lovely early morning walks on Happisburgh and Walcot beaches, and there are so many inland places to explore too... Even our dogs would recommend it!!!

East Ruston Cottages are a dream to deal with, and really give a personal touch with everything.
I highly recommend both East Ruston Cottages and specifically The Crib.

Lovely cottage in a fabulous location. Clean and comfortable and loved the homely, personal touches.
Geared towards the dogs...as much as for the humans, which is what I was after when booking.
There wasn’t anything we wanted that wasn’t catered for.
Fab beach and ideal to trot to from the cottage (even with a broken foot)
Relaxing and chilled...the perfect place for a change of scene without being stuck amongst throngs of tourists.

We love it so much here that we have booked 4 years in a row - 3 at The Crib. It ticks all of our boxes. Dog friendly, a short walk to a lovely beach that we’ve never seen too crowded, places to eat without having to get in the car, a fishmonger, a little shop, lovely walks, pretty village, plenty to do if it does rain (although we have been blessed with so little rain when we’ve stayed). The cottage is spacious, homely and really well equipped. The only thing that would make it better would be sun loungers for bathing in the garden. We’ve already booked for next year. Always sad to go home.

We were looking for a place where we could truly relax with our dogs. If our best friends are not welcomed we don't go there that's our rule. We found the perfect holiday for us all that's for sure. The Crib is outstanding and there is nothing that the owners' haven't thought of to make a perfect holiday. My only regret is that the time passed so quickly. The short walk to the beach, the beautiful countryside, the friendly people, the wonderful welcome pack, the super comfy bed for humans and dogs, cosy open fire, the super-secure garden with room to run around, an endless supply of doggie towels and blankets. I could go on and on and on!
We had a wonderful holiday and have already booked for next year. Our three dogs didn't want to get into the car to come home. I am trying not to tell too many people about this gem as I am afraid it will book up too fast.
Thanks to all involved that made our honeymoon so memorable.

THE most dog friendly place ever. It was absolutely perfect for three sighthounds, all with different needs. Our elderly whippet cross loved the raised beds and going o the pub. The middle aged saluki loved the giant memory foam bed and zoomies on the beach. The podenco loved the throws on the sofas and exploring the clifftops.

The Crib really does provide everything dog owners could want! Our party consisted of 3 human friends + our 'Magnificent Seven' (lurchers) & we truly couldn't have asked for anything more. ... From dog beds and holiday tags, to doggy shampoo and poo bags, everything our hounds needed was provided, and the 'Boot Room' full of dog towels was just the icing on the cake!

As for us humans, the cottage was rustic yet cosy, with all the mod cons we could have wished for (decent shower, dishwasher, wifi, Netflix etc.) and once again, all 'essentials' (soap, kitchen roll, dishwasher tabs etc.) were provided. ... But it was the open fire and wonderful collection of canine art that made it really special. (As well as the close proximity to a dog friendly beach and pub, of course!)

Big thanks to the owners for allowing us to share their little piece of paradise & special thanks to East Ruston Cottages manager, Sue, for the warm welcome and top notch customer service. ... We'll be back, for sure!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Crib. As most other people have said, the photos don't do it justice - it was beautiful, so cosy and completely immaculate. We spent the first evening in wonder at how well equipped it was - especially for the dogs. The lovely doggy themed art made it so homely. We loved the lounge with fireplace and the dogs all curled up in front of the fire each night. It's so nice to feel that the dogs are actually welcome there and not just tolerated - loads of fleece blankets available so they can be up on the sofas and the beds where they want to be. The garden is perfect and wonderfully secure. The beach is so nearby it's just a quick walk and loads of other super places to walk just a short car drive away. We only had a weekend so we left feeling like there was so much more we could have done, we will have to come back!

East Rushton Cottages was recommended by a colleague I work with. She told me that it was more than a holiday from home as you could let your dogs be with you. We requested a crate to let our dogs have their own space which was perfect as it catered in size for the two dogs to sleep together as they like there crates to go in and out off, when ever they wish, so even they felt at home and very, very happy. The garden was really good and a nice size to play with your dogs if they like balls. The boot room is fantastic as you have a place to dry of your dogs and yourself in rainy weather. Towels and throws provided for the furniture, so you could sit comfortably on the settee cuddling your dogs. The beach is a mere 5 minute walk from the cottage and all the people are really nice and welcoming and chatty. We went out around the Happisburge historic village. We fully enjoyed going to Horsey Beach to see the new born seal pups and we also visited Winterton Beach where it is great for the dogs to run around.

We really felt at home and relaxed the cottage was so comfortable a real home from home and the bed and pillows were so comfortable you just slept. There was an added bonus of a gift of goodies from the area which were very enjoyable and welcoming.

My husband thought the kitchen was fantastic with everything you need to cook. We would recommend visiting and we intend to be back there next year for our holiday but would like to stay longer than a week, I enjoyed it so much and it was the first time I was upset to be leaving as I am usually ready to go home.

This was our second stay at The Crib and both humans and hounds found it a really relaxing experience, and a real home from home. I don't think we've stayed in such a well equipped holiday cottage before, and absolutely everything was to hand.

We have been using ERC for several years and have never been disappointed. This was our first stay at The Crib and we were impressed by the cottage.

The kitchen was large and well equipped. And the Welcome Pack was brilliant!

I liked the artwork!

The local books and leaflets were helpful.

The best bit for us was the location. We could walk down to the beach in 5 minutes.

The Crib is a beautiful huge cottage. It has 3 decent sized bedrooms and huge kitchen and sitting room, with plenty of chairs. Everything you need in a lovely holiday cottage is provided. The garden is massive, perfect for dogs.
Located within a 10 minute walk from Happisburgh beach, a pub, the lighthouse and a little post office that provides milk bread etc. Plenty of lovely walks around.

Spent a week with my partner and our two dogs... Boerboels (80kg and 60kg)
We had an absolutely fantastic time, every aspect has been thought through meticulously, from the boot room allowing you to clean up dogs before entering the cottage, through to the robust furnishing with plenty of covers/throws provided...
They even had towels available for wiping paws on the way in!

The decoration is dog themed throughout, and has a lovely cheerful feel.

We particularly liked the location to the beach, it couldn't have been more convenient...
During the stay - on a couple of days, the temperature was a bit too much to take the dogs out during the day, but the very large garden provides plenty of shady spots to just chill out & pant a lot... and more than large enough for them to run around like lunatics chasing each other...which they did frequently throughout their stay - they LOVED it...

All in all, I cannot think of what else you could ask for... if the crib can accommodate our two beasts, I would say its big enough to deal with almost ANY dogs.

We loved it...and re-booked for next year before we even left.

The Crib is a wonderful holiday cottage.It had everything we needed for our 2 weeks stay with our 3 rescue greyhounds.The garden is brilliant for the dogs,totally secure with plenty room for running and also areas for them to snuffle around in.The cottage itself is very comfortable and homely.The village is small and quiet ,with a nice pub that does food ,village shop ,beach 10 minutes slow walk away.Really everything that us 2 oldies and our dogs wanted without having to use the car.We have already booked 3 weeks next summer.

If you have dogs and want a relaxing holiday, then this is the perfect place. So very dog friendly, you and your four legged friends will want for nothing. The Cottage is just perfect and very well equipped for both self catering or situated in a great place for walking out for meals at the local pub. Just returned from our holidays - 4 times we’ve traveled to Norfolk and every time we’ve stayed in one of the beautiful cottages with East Ruston Cottages.

This cottage is right at the top of my places to stay. Everything and anything is provided and the cleanliness is noticeable. You don’t feel the need to ‘clean’ anything before Customer service is of paramount and you feel like a part of a big family

Happisburgh is a great little village but it is heart breaking to see it vanishing a little every time you visit and hear the locals stories

A beautiful comfy cottage we felt at home as soon as we walked in.
Everything you need and more besides.
Our 2 'Westies' loved the daily conversations with their fellow doggie buddies next door
(not to mention the supersize Orvis bed) which was great for dreaming about the day's adventures.
we was all sad to leave, can't wait to go back!

We absolutely loved the house and garden from the moment we arrived. The house is really well thought out with everything you could ever need and our 2 dogs loved the garden. Unfortunately our week was a little wet with strong winds but we made use of the open fire a couple of times which was lovely. We didn't want to leave at the end of our week.

Even had good weather for February. Lovely area with great beaches and walks.

Wow, we loved The Crib. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into equipping the cottage and it is SO dog friendly. The garden is huge and it was a real treat to be able to see the dogs be able to chase a ball.
We had lovely cosy eves with the fire roaring and the dogs all tired and snuggley.
We’re going to book for a week next year, we can’t wait!!

We had a lovely weekend in Happisburgh staying at the Crib. It a very clean well equipped property in a good location. The Hill pub just up the end of the village was so dog friendly and with good homemade food, we were made to feel very welcome.
It is a shame that you can not access the beach from the village, like we did a couple of years ago, due to the coastal erosion.

Hi Susan Glad you enjoyed The Crib, one of most popular properties! Sorry that the ramp was off limits while you were there - obviously it is out of our control and recent weather has had an impact on it. NNDC do have plan to restore it so hopefully next time you visit you will be able to enjoy access at that end of the beach. At Cart Gap, a little further along, there is the concrete ramp used by the lifeboat.

Arriving at The Crib was just like arriving home. It was clean, super comfortable, and in such a great location. The garden was very safe and secure for our three dogs, which is a huge plus, so we could let them outside and not worry about them. Everything had been provided for guests (human and canine) - and more! I was particularly impressed that they provided hand wash at every sink, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets - and even coffee pods for the Nespresso machine! So thoughtful - and also very practical as it means less stuff to pack and bring with us! We are already looking at dates to return in 2019!

This is the best dog friendly cottage that we have stayed in. The cottage was clean and comfortable, many things were provide for our dogs, toys, beds, towels and holiday dog tags.
The position of the cottage was ideal for the sandy beach at Happisburgh, the garden was large and secure. The village pub was dog friendly as were others in surrounding villages.

We are not new to East Ruston Cottages, but this was our first stay at The Crib. We have to say it was incredibly comfortable, beautifully furnished and dog friendly and really just a home from home.
The little touches like the super king bed, the Nespresso machine, the hi k9 dog beds and the gorgeous pieces of art just made this place extra special.
Obviously, the location is perfect for dog owners, only a two minute walk to the beach and coastal paths, the same for the Hill House Inn pub and Nero's Kitchen dog treats. My dogs were in heaven.
If it's your first time in the area I can highly recommend The Crib for your holiday

Both humans and dogs were extremely well catered for. As vegans we were surprised and delighted to receive a delicious vegan welcome pack. Lots provided for the dogs, welcome biscuits, comfy beds, towels, raised feeding bowls, coats, tags, throws and a large crate. The dogs loved the large, well fenced garden. From first entering the house we felt at home. There is everything you could wish for, especially for dogs - you really only need to take their food!
The house was spotless ( thank you Danielle) and it has a lovely long garden for relaxing or playing throw the ball etc.
The house is only a very short walk to the beach via the beach ramp where you will also Burgers at the beach - much nicer than it sounds! My favourite was the bacon burger with all the trimmings and chips!
We only visited the pub once but if was very friendly and the baguettes were delicious.
The beach was uncrowded ( even for May half term) and Molly had a wonderful time chasing her ball and playing in the sea.
A marvellous healthy holiday!
