Very happy with the house , clean and tidy, beds and linen were excellent, all the facilities in the house were great, in the kitchen there were every appliance and utensil you would ever need, the location was very good for walking and very close to where we were going, only blip the tv was difficult to get working properly, David Hertwig

We had fantastic time at Killinallan. The kids could go to/from the Port Charlotte beach at will and we were a short distance (by car) away from the bigger beaches. We love Islay and this cottage was perfect. Looking forward to returning in the not too distant future.

Killinallan is a very comfortable, warm and well appointed holiday cottage. We were a party of only 3, and only stayed for 3 nights, so did not use all the facilities on offer. We were impressed with the fully fitted kitchen, and the generous amount of crockery , cutlery etc (including properly sharp knives). All the appliances we used worked, the beds were comfortable, towel supplies generous and showers hot. The spacious rooms and 3 bathrooms looked as though 6 adults could easily be accommodated with no difficulty. For this number the value for money would be excellent. For a house of this quality we certainly did not mind paying a little more for the 3 of us. Port Charlotte proved a very good base for our visit too.

What an amazing cottage, it was like been home from home. Everything you could possibly need was there. The cottage was easy to find and very close to little walks, bus stops and local amenities within the village. We will sure be back again in the future, The local community were very friendly and willing to give guidance if it's your first visit, they really did make you feel like friends.

Kilinallan Cottage is a fantastic place to stay on Islay. It is extremely convenient for exploring the Island. The house itself is top class. The kitchen is adequately equipped for everything you may need. The bedrooms are roomy and extremely comfortable and each has an en suite. Two sitting rooms downstairs are both roomy and excellent if anyone needs a little ‘quiet time’ to themselves. I would definitely recommend this house and we will definitely be back.

Second trip to Islay staying in Port Charlotte Holidays properties. The cottage is in a great location within this beautiful heritage village where I feel at home, walking in the footsteps of my ancestors. The cottage is very well appointed and very comfortable. Everyone in our party slept well and with such great weather during our stay we made great use of the garden as we had taken our own folding chairs and small table, which I would recommend. Weather permitting you can pack your chairs and a picnic and enjoy many of the Islands beaches and beauty spots. I would highly recommend these properties and the owner, Margaret, offers friendly and informative communication

Killinallan Cottage is a modern two storey house designed with the needs of a family on a self-catering holiday in mind. The house was spotlessly clean and the beds, duvets and pillows (important markers for us) were ideal. We liked the little sitting room where the children did their own thing, while all of us could sit comfortably in the larger sitting room. The kitchen is so well stocked with everything you could possible need on a self-catering holiday. It is a short walk to the Spar shop and the Port Charlotte hotel where we enjoyed a drink outside and dinner inside (best to book). We enjoyed watching the seals at nearby Portnahaven and the walk at the American monument at the Mull of Oa. Margaret made all the arrangements very easy for us and promptly answered the questions we had before we went.. All in all a it made for a very enjoyable holiday.

Really great place for families of all ages to stay. Very well equipped. Being in Port Charlotte means an easy walk to three pubs/restaurants, easy access to the shore and a play park for little ones. Parking is easy and it’s a good base for all of the island. Have stayed 3 times, and will do so again.

Put simply, I’d highly recommend Killinallan Cottage as a base for either groups or families to explore Islay from. Spacious, clean and in a great location on the edge of Port Charlotte (which is a beautiful little town in its own right, and well located to get most anywhere on Islay within about 30 minutes’ drive), I’m not really sure how you’d improve Killinallan for anyone looking to get away for a week or two (or more). The Cottage has been designed and built to a high, modern standard, meaning that it is very warm and comfortable (double glazing, central heating, plenty of hot water for showers etc). The furnishings carry on in this line, with everything from the showers to the furniture and kitchen being done to a very high spec too; I think the kitchen actually has more pots and pans etc than I actually have at home. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for more!

Killinallan Cottage is a wonderful holiday home, it is scrupulously clean, warm and comfortable with all the amenities that you need. Port Charlotte is a convenient location, close to Bruichladdich, and offers great eating with excellent service at the Port Charlotte Hotel. A visit to the Bruichladdich distillery is always a joy, interesting tour, lovely people and delicious whisky.

We arrived at 3.30 and waited for the rep to arrive as we were led to expect. I had requested hypo allergenic bedding as we are an asthmatic family, but all the bedding on the beds was feather. There was also a broken toilet seat. After phoning a couple of times with no response I rang the owner and the rep finally appeared. She managed to locate appropriate bedding and promised to return the following day with the final pillow. We never saw her again despite leaving messages on her phone also requesting a light bulb.
The dishwasher didn't clean so we ended up doing all the crockery by hand. On the positive side the house and garden are lovely and well laid out and we had a brilliant time!

This was a comfortable, well appointed and well equipped cottage in a quiet position in the village of Port Charlotte. The accommodation was generous for us as a couple and I think a family would find it perfectly comfortable, providing two sitting rooms for kids to have space of their own. We had no complaints and our only negative comment would be that our host did not make herself known to us during our stay and did not reply to a text message made to report a transient plumbing issue! This did not affect the enjoyment of our holiday.

We stayed in Killinallan Cottage and Sanaigmore Cottage over our wedding weekend with friends and family.
The accommodation was amazing. We had folk coming and going for drinks, meals etc all weekend and it was so well equipped. We never even ran out of plates or glasses. It was so handy having a lovely seating area outdoor space too.
The owner was lovely to deal with and everything was just perfect. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Age range 2 to 57, three generations, really enjoyed this house. Very well stocked with everything you would need. Handy stroll to Port Charlotte bars and restaurants. Great base to explore Islay.
