Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Eden Valley, Sunnyside is a beautifully maintained detached property originally built from local sandstone, serving as the station master’s house. This charming home boasts an enviable location in a popular village, offering spacious accommodation both inside and out, making it the perfect getaway for families or groups.

Just a short walk away, you’ll find a supermarket, post office, and The Joiners Arms, a local pub serving delicious home-cooked meals. The village also features a playground and a heated outdoor swimming pool, ideal for summer fun and relaxation.

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat or an adventure-filled holiday, Sunnyside offers the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and charm.

Two inviting reception rooms provide ample space for relaxation. Guests can unwind in the cosy lounge, complete with a wood-burning stove, Smart TV, DVD player and selection of books and games or enjoy the resident piano in the sitting room while the children explore the expansive garden. The traditional dining kitchen features a Belfast pot sink and a range-style oven with an electric hob. The dining table, positioned by patio doors, leads to a small courtyard and the garden, making it a perfect spot for family meals or planning your next adventure. A utility room with a freezer, dishwasher, and microwave is conveniently located off the kitchen. The property also includes a lockable garage for outdoor gear and bike storage and houses the tumble dryer.

The home includes two spacious double bedrooms with king-size beds, one of which is en-suite, and a further twin bedroom.

All essential amenities, including electricity, logs, bed linen, and towels, are provided for your convenience. The large, terraced garden is perfect for holidaying your way, featuring stunning views across the rooftops to the Pennines. Please note that the terraced design includes many steps, which may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

We loved our stay at Sunnyside. The house was really accessible and fully equipped with everything we needed. Comfy beds and really clean!

My first thoughts when I saw Sunnyside was, what a lovely, large, double fronted house and I was not disappointed.
You enter through the back door where there is a boot room and a down stairs toilet and then through to the hall with a beautiful wooden staircase which leads to two living rooms and a huge kitchen. The two living rooms both have comfy seating and a big telly and the right one has a homely wood burner.
The kitchen is huge with a new easy to use aga, big fridge and a dish washer and freezer in the pantry. The table seats eight and it is a great place to join together to prepare and eat meals and play board games from a large choice in the cupboard.
There are patio doors to a seating area and on into a delightful large garden. The garden is quite steep but has good paths and it is worth the climb for the fabulous views from the top. There is a large covered BBQ space near the house.
Back in the house, there are three spacious double bedrooms, one is on-suite. There is a fabulous new family bathroom with a roll top bath and a large walk-in shower. Every where is clean and comfortable. There is a large wardrobe on the landing for extra hanging space.
The property stands in a pretty village with a good Co-op and pub. There is an outside swimming pool down by the river, which has some great walks. The village is well placed for the Lakes, the Pennines, Penrith and Carlisle. For fishermen, like my husband, there is plenty of salmon and trout fishing nearby. I would recommend this lovely house to anyone. It is a 5 star +

Sunnyside was the perfect base for our family to explore the Lake District National Park and Pennines. Sitting at the top of the beautiful garden while the children played offered incredible views of the Eden valley, and we made use of the covered BBQ area and outdoor family seating almost every night. Inside, the kitchen had everything we needed and a big family table where we planned our days from. The large bath was a personal favourite for me and the comfortable quality beds gave us a good night sleep. Lazonby is a quiet village but its children’s play park, good sized co-op and train station with connections between Carlisle and Leeds opened up lots of options to enjoy days spent locally and further away without the car.
