We had the most wonderful stay at Eden Mount, the building is stunning with excellent facilities throughout. Large rooms and a lovely sun trap garden space. The location was superb as it is a 5 minute walk to the train station for trips back into Carlisle. Alternatively, we stayed local and ate at The Crown, The Wheatsheaf and Fantails. Overall, just a fantastic holiday home which we can highly recommend! 10/10!
We had a warm and comfortable stay at the Shepherds retreat. Our dog loved the large garden and we enjoyed the hot tub, we had clear starry skies and the clear instructions made it easy to use. It went down to -3 outside but we did nt notice that indoors. We were cosy .
I worked in the travel industry for many years and have never left a five star review in all categories until now. Geltsdale is located 10 minutes from Carlisle, 15 minutes from Hadrian'sWall and 20 minutes to the Lake District. The M6 is literally minutes away and Wetheral has a number of good eating places. Geltsdale has picture perfect views and wildlife in abundance. It is great value for money!
This was our 2nd stay in this delightful cottage and it didn’t disappoint. Perfectly located in the centre of Coniston to enjoy the beautiful local walks and selection of pubs. The cottage was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The heating was on when we arrived so very welcoming. The new bathroom was a lovely addition. The enclosed garden was great for our dogs. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
We had a fab week at mill cottage. We were there for the fly fishing. But the cottage had everything we needed for a week away. We had some beautiful weather too, which we took full advantage of in the suntrap of a garden.
Perfect location and ideal having a dedicated parking space right outside the window. There’s plenty walks around that don’t need you to drive anywhere and all the restaurants, shops and pubs are right outside the court. Nice touch with the games console and DVDs and toys for the kids. Also modern, comfortable and great condition furniture in the bedroom and in the living room. kitchen was great too. Will return.
Lovely cottage in a great location with everything you could need provided. Easy to find and has the best of both worlds as it is in a rural location but also near town and attractions. Motorway very handy if you wanted to go further. Hosts helpful. Carlisle is an interesting town and lakes can be reached as well as Hadrians Wall so plenty to do and see.
After a week with all the family , this little cottage was just what we needed. A short car ride from Ulvaston , the cottage was cosy, clean and had everything we needed to recharge our batteries. The bed was great and the pillows divine .

Kirk House was an absolute delight to have as our group base over the last four days. The accommodation was first class and our group were very comfortable during our stay. The surrounding countryside and scenery was astounding and Kirk House stood perfectly within this wonderful view. Very well equipped with everything a group of 7 would need, the only minor criticism we had was the pans and oven trays in the kitchen - these had seen better days unfortunately and really could do with being replaced, but the rest of the house really was superb. A perfect getaway for those who want to get away from it all. Floor to ceiling windows offer incredible views over the burn and surrounding woodland. The area is teaming with wildlife which will provide you with hours of entertainment from inside or out. Relax in the hot tub while taking in the incredible scenery. We have just spent a relaxing few days in this beautiful cottage in the lovely village of Temple Sowerby, just what we needed after a hectec few months. We esp enjoyed having our coffee in the front courtyard enjoying the sunshine. The surrounding countryside of the Eden Valley is spectacular, there are lovely walks from the doorstep and an excellent pub with fabulous food within a 2 min walk. We wish we could have stayed longer and will definatly be back as soon as we can, thank you David

I called and spoke to Tracey the day before we were due to arrive and was struck by how happy she sounded that we were coming despite never having met us which served to raise the excitement we already felt. We were greeted on arrival and given lots of information on the lie of the land and places to eat and shop then entered the cosiest homely, cottage on a dreary day to find everything ready for a hot cuppa with a sweet treat. We had a really great stay at Geltsdale East Wing, with some really unexpected bonus features - leaving aside the excellent cottage for a moment, the views from the windows over the gardens to the surrounding landscape were stunning - and only surpassed by the sight of deer, pheasants, herons and ducks making their frequent visits to the grounds. We’ve just had a beautiful stay here. Our cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The kids loved the farm aspect and I loved that we were so close to fascinating beaches and reed beds.
This cottage is beautiful. Everything you need for a fabulous stay. The hosts made the stay perfect. Clear directions to cottage. A txt beforehand asking which milk we preferred. Tea coffee sugar milk and 2 drinks for us on arrival. The surroundings are beautiful. Great place to stay. Well worth the money. Thank you for everything
Very responsive owner , lovely accomodation of high quality and great location. Everything worked properly, warm and comfortable.
The only thing the place is missing is decent wifi. The pictures you see are old pictures, the little decked patio is no longer there but that didn’t really matter because when we were outside we were making good use of the hot tub which ofcourse is now sheltered by a pergola! This place is good for if you want to get away from the world and focus on you and your partner, there is a 6 foot privacy fence surrounding with woods and a burn to the rear. Highly recommend!
We absolutely loved our stay at Stonethwaite Barn this weekend! The barn is very spacious and stylish, with excellent facilities. I was especially impressed with the kitchen as it was kitted out with everything you could possibly need. We loved the garden area with the outdoor bath, this is a really unique feature. We enjoyed visiting the start of Hadrian's Wall at Bowness-on-Solway and had a beautiful walk along the estuary. We will be back!
We had a lovely long weekend at Watson Cottage. The cottage had everything you could possibly need and it was warm and very comfortable. The hot tub was an added extra! It's a beautiful location with lots of things to do whatever the weather.
Everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday is provided at Vallum, Irthington. The apartment was spotlessly clean. A lovely peaceful location, great for countryside and coast
A quiet private and peaceful lodge surrounded by greenery and very convenient for the Lake District’s northern fells, Ullswater and all the shops in Penrith. Very well equipped with comfortable beds, good showers, very fast WiFi and numerous books, games and videos. The wonderful conservatory which opens in 2 sides to the garden was an added bonus. Also, the biggest leather sofa in the universe!
Where to start - We are 4 generations of a family, aged 11mths - 86 years old, all 24 of us. We celebrated our Christmas in beautiful Glingerbank house, staying from 23rd - 27th December. The house is just amazing, so well presented, everything you could possibly need to cook a huge Christmas dinner, full English breakfasts, Boxing Day buffet and all the meals in between. Everything was good, accommodation was as advertised. One disappointment as a DVD was mentioned in the equipment list at the Cottage so we took a lot of DVD’s for the children. The slip mat in the bath was torn and a slip mat in the walk-in shower downstairs would improve the safety. Apart from these perhaps a fly curtain would be a good idea at the doorway to the jacuzzi as this was open a lot during our stay. These are recommendations only but I feel would improve the facilities. Nevertheless we had an enjoyable stay.
We recently stayed at this charming two-bedroom bungalow in the peaceful coastal village of Seascale with our dog, and it was a truly lovely experience from start to finish. Being so close to the beach made it feel like a real seaside escape, and having Seascale Golf Course nearby added to the relaxed, holiday atmosphere. This is a really well located cottage. It’s comfortable warm (well named!) and attractively furnished. The kitchen is well equipped and laid out, tho small. The attractions of Ambleside - including walking - are available from the doorstep. The parking permit is a great perk as it can be used not only in the car park directly opposite the cottage but also elsewhere in the Lakes. And the tab at the Rattle Ghyll was the icing on the cake! All in all, this is a wonderful place to stay.
Just back from a wonderful, relaxing, 4 day break at Brookside. It is our first family break with our daughter, son in law and 3 year old grandaughter. We were delighted with the property. So much room for us all and the garden is just a delight with a large lawn and mature shrubs and trees. Our grandaughter whipped off her shoes as soon as we arrived and was romping around barefoot in the grass. There was ample parking for our 2 cars which is a bonus and necessary for us as my husband has mobility issues. We had a lovely time away at Hazelrigg cottage. The accommodation was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. I particularly liked the guest area and thought it was a great addition to the Howscales site. The hosts have made part of the site accessible for all their cottage users and it included things like leaflets, games, toys, puzzles, a washing machine, drying room and extra food for guests. Lovely location in the family estate, the accommodation over looks fields and woodland and was very well presented Access to many walks, not to far from all the well known Lakes and tourist attractions. For those who want to explore many roads off the beaten track with beautiful views . Recommended.
Lovely spacious well-equipped farmhouse with amazing views up to the fells. Great place to relax in comfort, with a beautiful garden and walks from the door. Enjoyed seeing the local fell ponies nearby. Good local facilities- pubs, cafes, village shops and a milk shed with vending machines for local produce. Would happily move in tomorrow!

A stunning property in every way - location, comfort, cleanliness etc. On entering the door we were "blown away" by the incredible view which greets you over the Tarn - this view is the same from the bedroom. Ceiling to floor windows on both floors. The furnishings are of excellent quality throughout. Loved our daily visits from 3 local ducks. Fantastic walks from the doorstep. Highly recommend.
This is an amazing place to relax and unwind in comfort and luxury. There is everything you need in this holiday home to enjoy your stay and loads of local resources to make your stay what you want. The paths to explore around the tarn are perfect for a short walk and there are many longer ones nearby. Brampton is a great town to explore and collect some supplies, further Carlisle is a treat too
We loved every minute of our stay at this property. It was incredibly tranquil, comfortable and we had everything we needed. I will miss our morning walks and the gorgeous view. The best part? The ice from the freezer never ran out and that was a brilliant touch, especially so far from shops. Overall, we had a great time, thank you.

We had a lovely stay at Anley cottage, everything we needed was there (apart from a vegetable peeler ) and we loved the quirky decor. The beds were wonderfully comfortable but considering the heat it would have been handy to have the option of lighter bedding. It didn't matter too much, we just slept on top of the duvets. The street was very peaceful, apart from a visiting hedgehog which we had to rescue out of our recycling. All in all we had a stay at this property and would highly recommend it!
Cannot fault the property, location or hosts. Fortunate with the weather during the break though the area has plenty to offer whatever it's like. Hot tub view to die for and all the comforts of home- you won't want to leave. Many thanks for a great getaway. Joe and Caroline, Falkirk.
Our cottage stay was just what we needed and exceeded our expectations. The location is so lovely and peaceful. Walks from the door step and views across the Tarn made they stay even more special. The property was immaculate and well maintained. We wished we could have stayed longer, and hope to book again next year.
The property has fabulous views of the lake and nearby fells. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen, dining, sitting area are very spacious. We had an issue with the Nespresso coffee machine and a replacement was provided the following day, excellent customer service. There is a pub and restaurant in walking distance and a short drive to Pooley Bridge. New Tesla EV superchargers are now open at Rheged (about 5 miles from property) which was very convenient. We will definitely consider staying at this property again.
We had an enjoyable week long stay at Fell View. The best part was the stunning views from the cottage of the fells. There were all amenities in the cottage and a lovely welcome basket from the owners. The cottage is located on a working farm but the owners were friendly and welcoming. The location of the property is easy to find, within 15 minute driving distance to Keswick or even walks from the doorstep. We had a fantastic stay at the cabin! It is easily accessible from the M6 and a great base for exploring the Lake District. The cabin itself was modern and clean - we had all the amenities we needed for our stay and they were all top of the range (especially the bed and kitchen)! We loved the privacy of the cabin/hot tub and the view across the estate was incredible! We will 100% stay here again - so glad we found this gem!
I absolutely loved my stay at the snug. Although it’s small it has absolutely everything you need (apart from maybe a table next to the hot tub for towels and somewhere to rest your wine glass!) It was lovely and toasty, and the shower was also surprisingly good! I’ll definitely be back :-)
Perfect location, dry, clean, warm. A little bit tired inside but on the whole not a single complaint. I would stay here again just for the bed.
This was our fourth time staying here. It’s a great space for a family get together. An impressive building and has a lord of the manor feel. Great open outdoor view across the countryside with deer roaming freely. We will be back again. John
A couple of things- the fridge isn't working very well- I appreciate it was very hot last week but it was difficult to get the fridge to the correct temperature. The refuse and recycling bins were not collected whilst we were there and had not been collected the previous week either as they were very full
We had a lovely stay at Orchard House. The house was spacious, warm and very well equipped. The beds were super comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub with great views across to the Solway Firth. There is a nice pub in the local village.
A spacious, comfortable and well-equipped Arts and Crafts house. A short walk to the amenities of the village, and direct access from the 3-acre woodland garden to the fell.
Fabulous house, clean, welcoming and very relaxing. We booked last minute as a end of exam treat for our daughter and enjoyed our stay! The house is stunning, it had everything we need. We sat outside listening to the birds and enjoyed the view. It is a little out of town and there is a hill to walk up on the way back but don't let this put you off, it's worth the walk!
The cabin and its facilities were excellent, it had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. For a dog friendly home, it was immaculate and very modern. The hot tub with views overlooking the hills and lakes was the icing on the cake! A small coffee machine would have been a lovely addition but perhaps that’s personal preference!
We stayed here for my birthday week, which was incredible. The property is amazing, great location and great facilities! We will definitely be back at some point in the future.
This great cottage had all the things we needed for a holiday with my elderly parents. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms were just what we needed. The location was fabulous just a short walk one way to the garden centre / Church and the other way to the village green. Lots of local shops and pubs nearby we didn't need to use our car all weekend.

This is our second stay here and it didn't disappoint. It's clean, comfortable, warm and has everything you could need for a wonderful stay. I could live here forever. Location is rural so no busy noisy roads making it a relaxing stay. It's our perfect match. Definitely our aaahhhh place.
We love Grasmere and are so pleased we found this cottage. It's extremely spacious and central in Grasmere, everywhere is within walking distance and the parking permit means you don't have to worry about finding somewhere to park. Would definitely stay again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Drake’s Rest. The property is well-equipped and delightfully furnished and decorated. We met the on-site host a couple of times, who was very helpful and friendly without being “omni-present” at all. The situation, in the Borderlands area, is idyllic. Close to the Lakes and Hadrian’s Wall country, but delightfully quiet. Ideal for running, walking, cycling - or just enjoy the rural environment. Would definitely return..!
The lodge is in a very central location to access most parts of the beautiful Lake District. We found the lodge clean and well equipped for our 1 week stay. The only down side was too many high-tech gadgets that were difficult to control. Many guests value the on-site facilities which we didn't use on our holiday.
Stylish cottage that manages to be remote and well connected both at the same time. It’s a little bit out of Silecroft which has a lovely beach and beach cafe but not much else ( even the lovely local pub doesn’t serve food). But on the other hand it’s not far to Millom which is pretty well served, including a decent sized Tesco and also, being just off the A595, is convenient for all the western and southern Lake District. We had an incredibly nice stay at the Hardwick cottage. Everything was so tidy and clean, comfortable and very luxurious! Yes, it’s next to a busy street but all the best places in the Lake District are very closeby because of that. The hot tub was a fantastic experience. Highly recommended place to stay in the Lakes!! So nice we were welcomed with a basket of regional specialities.

We've always wanted to stay here. It's amazing and well presented. The balcony was used to the full. Bed so comfy, excellent nights sleep. Champagne in the fridge. Dishwasher if you need it. There's no downside to the Boathouse and we don't really want to leave. It has been a dream come true.

Fantastic location, set in front of rolling hills on a working farm. Accommodation was more than sufficient for 4 people + a dog. Clean, tidy, well presented and great views. Friendly owners too.
2 Mill Dam Cottage is about a 20 minute uphill walk from Coniston town centre. We found the cottage comfortable, well equipped and well cared for. Beautiful weather meant we could sit out on the table and chairs in the garden. The road up to the cottage from the main road is steep, narrow and twisty, making it a challenging drive. Supermarket vans cannot get up here, you will have to drive down and meet them on the main road. There is plenty of parking space, but this is about 200m away from the cottage.
Compact lodge with great privacy, very friendly host who could not do enough. Loved the hot tub and the tranquillity of the surroundings.
The cottage was ideal for my purposes as a single traveller to Keswick. Clean and comfortable; lovely bed - I especially liked the colour scheme throughout! Comfortable seats, occasional tables, clean well-equipped kitchen - trays - something rarely found - good quality crockery and cutlery. Also with the lovely weather, it was wonderful to have a choice of 3 areas to sit outside - I'm a bit of a sun worshipper. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay in No 2 Seed Howe. The cottage is very atmospheric and has a quirky layout with living room and kitchen upstairs. The ground floor bedrooms stay cool in the warm weather, which is a bonus in the current heatwave! The kitchen needs a few essentials like baking trays, and the garden at the back is a lovely suntrap, just needs some TLC. Overall, we had a great stay and found that Staveley is a very central location in the Lakes. Would definitely recommend!

We are regulars for the last 15 years or so to Grasmere view. We park the car and walk - but today are more and more into fantasy fellwalking. Would be great if we could bring our dog with us - we would willingly pay extra. The old place is a bit tired now - and needs some maintenance.

Lovely cottage and very private with a lovely Hot tub. The cottage is very well maintained and clean., It’s in a perfect location for a romantic get away. Feed back: 1. The mattress needs changing as you can start to feel the springs inside. 2. The TV definitely needs to change along with the 90’s Sky box. The entertainment wasn’t great as you were stuck to free tv channels on a 19inch very old Tv. Bramble Cottage was a great little place to stay if you want peace and quiet. Keswick is a 15min walk away, mostly downhill and with easy access to the cycle trail. The cottage itself had everything we needed... plenty of hot water, good shower and very comfy bed. Sadly not all the cooking utensils and oven door were clean, and whilst it's understandable that it's an old building, there were patches of damp in the bathroom and bedroom that required some TLC. The property was easily located, parking is tight but some options close by. On first sight the property was very clean and welcoming with an excellent view down over the town and surrounding hills. The space was very good for two people, kitchen facilities were good, except for the fridge which had seen better days but still worked. However, the seating around the table was uncomfortable, don't think that garden/conservatory chairs were appropriate. A place to lounge after a day out walking was appreciated.
