Booked a 2 night stay in The Chard and it is the most beautiful lodge with a large garden area, hot tub and its own fire pit and Koi pond. Very peaceful setting with lots of wildlife and next to the river, we even had a visit from ducks in the pond! Contacted the owners to enquire about an extra night as was having such a wonderful time celebrating a 30th Birthday which was accepted. Excellent value for money and will 100% be returning. Thank you for a lovely weekend!
Wonderful stay in Cosy Cottage. It certainly lives up to its name with everything we could need! Fabulous central location so we could walk to all the bars and restaurants in Ambleside. Great to have a permit for car park nearby which although busy we had no problem finding a space when needed
Beautiful, quiet n relaxing cottage. Very private and secluded . Never slept so well. Hot tub was a great advantage in the early evenings. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Will definitely go back as wished ive of had a few fly fishing lessons. 5⭐️
This is the fourth time that we have stayed in this quaint little cottage. The cottage itself is equipped with everything you need for your stay. The location is excellent with shops, pubs and restaurants only a short walk away. The cottage has an allocated parking space which is large enough for a medium sized car. There is a steep step down in order to access the cottage which needs to be considered for people with mobility issues.

The only thing the place is missing is decent wifi. The pictures you see are old pictures, the little decked patio is no longer there but that didn’t really matter because when we were outside we were making good use of the hot tub which ofcourse is now sheltered by a pergola! This place is good for if you want to get away from the world and focus on you and your partner, there is a 6 foot privacy fence surrounding with woods and a burn to the rear. Highly recommend!

Geltsdale East Wing in Wetheral is very special to our family. We are originally from Carlisle; this was our 3rd visit from the USA. and we've made some very special memories here since 2015. This June we were here for a week to celebrate the wedding of our niece. The accommodation is very comfortable, with plenty of space for 6 adults to relax and eat together. It is nice that each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, in addition to a separate downstairs toilet. We had a lovely long weekend at Watson Cottage. The cottage had everything you could possibly need and it was warm and very comfortable. The hot tub was an added extra! It's a beautiful location with lots of things to do whatever the weather.
Lovely cottage in a great location with everything you could need provided. Easy to find and has the best of both worlds as it is in a rural location but also near town and attractions. Motorway very handy if you wanted to go further. Hosts helpful. Carlisle is an interesting town and lakes can be reached as well as Hadrians Wall so plenty to do and see.
Lovely location in the family estate, the accommodation over looks fields and woodland and was very well presented Access to many walks, not to far from all the well known Lakes and tourist attractions. For those who want to explore many roads off the beaten track with beautiful views . Recommended.
We’ve had a lovely week here at Tarn End. Gorgeous property, beautifully decorated with an amazing view. We highly recommend and will be back!
This was our first time visiting Grasmere and I think we have found our new favourite place to stay. Being all ground floor, the cottage was ideal for us with my elderly parents. The cottage is well equipped and centrally located. We enjoyed wandering around the art galleries and shops and ventured into Ambleside, Windermere and Keswick all really easy to reach by car.

This was our fourth stay at this property and yet again it did not disappoint. Everything was perfect. It is an extremely comfortable and cosy place to stay with the most incredible views to be seen from pretty much every single window. The view from the main upstairs bedroom window is just stunning. There are so many fantastic walks on the doorstep and pooley bridge is just a five minute bus ride away ( the bus stop is a two minute walk from the property) or a 40 minute walk via the Ullswater way route. This was exactly what we needed after a busy few months. The location is idlyic overlooking Talkin Tarn with a lovely walk around the lake right from the door. Cumbrian Cottage Holidays staff were very friendly and answered all of our questions prior to booking. David, the owner, also popped by to make sure everything was OK for us. A 5 star property with 5 star service. Can't wait to return again now we have found our little peace of heaven.
We had an amazing week here, the weather was mixed but a lot to see and do. Was hoping to book again for next year but we heard from a neighbour that it’s getting a massive change . Hopefully if the new house goes up for hire and we can go back
We had a fantastic stay at the cabin! It is easily accessible from the M6 and a great base for exploring the Lake District. The cabin itself was modern and clean - we had all the amenities we needed for our stay and they were all top of the range (especially the bed and kitchen)! We loved the privacy of the cabin/hot tub and the view across the estate was incredible! We will 100% stay here again - so glad we found this gem!
All round lovely stay for a very fair price. Great views from the hut and the log burner makes it extra cosy. The complimentary bottle of wine, cake when we arrived and the fruit scones on the Saturday was greatly appreciated and unexpected. We would definitely stop here again
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at High House. It was very comfortable, with plenty of space for our baby grandchildren and our three adult children and their spouses. Barbara gave us a wonderful welcome and she was always on hand if we had any queries. Although the house was quite close to the motorway we hardly heard it and the views from the garden were stunning. We would certainly go back there!
Lovely accommodation with everything needed for a short stay. Clean and cosy with some nice little touch’s ie bottle of fizz, basket of jacuzzi, throw, marshmallows etc. Jacuzzi in private garden, nestled near a stream, saw an owl and squirrel on our visit. My husband had a lovely 60th weekend. Thank you. We will visit again for sure.
Geltside Garden Cottage is absolutely delightful. Nestled in the lovely village of Wetheral and furnished to a very high standard with every home comfort and a wonderful view. This is the perfect home away for home, only wish we could have stayed longer.
Lovely stay once again at Hill cottage and so lucky with the weather. Lovely garden and location although a mirror to see what is coming around the corner when driving in and out of the property would be useful as some cyclists and drivers come down that road so fast! Very well equipped, spacious and clean but some milk in the fridge and a couple of teabags would have been welcome on arrival. On previous stays there was always a welcome pack. I would highly recommend Monkhouse Hill to anyone looking for accommodation in the North West lakes. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable and the hot tub added an extra element of luxury that was perfect after a long day of exploring. The site is very well maintained and has stunning views over the Eden Valley. I'd also highly recommend a visit to the local village Caldbeck.
This is our second stay in the cottage this year and hoping to visit again soon. Great location about one mile outside Grasmere. The views from the cottage are amazing. Cottage itself is clean and comfortable with it's own parking.Gardens are kept tidy.
We love Grasmere and are so pleased we found this cottage. It's extremely spacious and central in Grasmere, everywhere is within walking distance and the parking permit means you don't have to worry about finding somewhere to park. Would definitely stay again.
We spent a week in this lovely lovely cottage. This was more than a home from home, offering some real luxury from the cosy blankets on the sofa to the slippers and robes in the bathroom. Everything about the design of this cottage has been thought through in detail and has all you could want for a place to relax in whatever the weather. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in Green Vale Lodge with plenty of walks ,pubs and restaurants nearby .Had the weather been better we would have used the patio and garden more.
Booked for m wifes 50th birthday. From the moment we opened the door we were not disappointed. Wonderfully decorated and the views to simply amaze at. From the family of Mallards, Swallows, bats and visiting Heron to keep us company along with the lake activities to watch from steamers to hearty souled wild swimmers. Only a 15 minute stroll away with Red Squirrels on route you feel far enough away from everything but close enough to Pooley Bridge and civilisation. Fantastic location, set in front of rolling hills on a working farm. Accommodation was more than sufficient for 4 people + a dog. Clean, tidy, well presented and great views. Friendly owners too.
Great stay at Bluebell (name needs updating on Cumbrian Cottages), cabin absolutely perfect and we had a fantastic time! Only small issues were the hot tub took about 2.5 hours to get hot and then stuff floated out of the pipe into the water. This is first time using a wood fired tub so not sure if that's normal. Also a lot of flies around in summer months so very difficult to have doors/windows open.
The cottage itself is welcoming and unique, as was the owner who we spoke to the next morning. We didn’t get there until late because of a storm and it was really helpful that the key was left in the door. The cottage had most things we needed for a couple of nights but a larger chopping board, sharper knives and a kitchen sponge would have been extremely useful for cooking and wiping down the kitchen. Great location loads of streams mountains ect , house lovely but small bed could do with being lower , and windows are rotten , would go again but would not count small bedroom as bed is too high

My wife and I stayed in mid July 2024 and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The furniture is a bit dated but comfortable. The upside down layout makes for a warm stay and we were treated to bats outside the living room window at dusk each evening. There was a welcome pack of tea coffee cakes and milk in the fridge which is always a lovely touch when it happens. There is everything in the lodge, including a dishwasher, washing machine, iron and ironing board. The double bed is very big and comfortable and a hair dryer is also available. The location of Ellen Brow is unbelievably good. 1 minute walk to the main street and pub and the views are very good too. Very spacious and would accommodate 6 people quite easily. Plenty of parking on the property, 2 out front and 1 in the garage. Kitchen large and well equipped with everything you could possibly need and all the bedrooms are spacious. Issue with the main bedroom, you can't sit up in bed with a drink and enjoy the available views, because the cupboards behind the bed don't allow you to sit up. Accommodation was comfortable. Disappointed to turn up and find no clean towels or linen. This was quickly fixed,though there was subsequent confusion when the cleaner turned up a day early. Attention to detail could be better ( some sinks blocked, instructions for rubbish could have been clearer). However, overall, this is a nice place in a lovely location, and good value for money.
