A first class property in every respect. Our 7th stay! Superb location. It is peerless in our view. Well done everyone!
A very clean and comfortable cottage in a beautiful quiet area. I have had and worked with horses all my life so it was interesting that the owners also have horses. The cottage is ideally situated to visit all the wonderful restaurants that we usually frequent on our annual visit to the Cotswolds.
Good welcome from Debbie. Barn spotless and well equipped. Superbly located for dogs. Much appreciate generous welcome basket.
One of the best holiday cottages we’ve ever stayed in. Beautiful stone cottage, very well equipped, comfortable and in a stunning location. The views and the well kept gardens were a treat and Jeff, the property manager, was very helpful
We really enjoyed staying in this lovely cottage. Very comfortable and so many little extras that we wouldn’t always remember to pack. Very well equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Nice secure garden for the dog too. Ideally situated for visits to the local villages and also Oxford and Stratford. Lovely pub 2 minutes walk away. I wish I’d booked a longer stay and hope to return in the near future. Many thanks to the considerate owners.
Superb well equipped cottage in delightful village, with excellent local pub. Stairs to two of the bedrooms could be a challenge for small children or the elderly. The cottage is ideal for both Summer and winter visits....warm and cosy with beautiful outside space.
A perfect place to celebrate our big day with our family. Kitchen very well stocked. Gym used every day.
We had a lovely break in Gardeners cottage which is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The garden is beautiful and well kept ..we were able to relax whilst kids played in the spacious grounds. We appreciated the welcome pack Thank u We did find that the wifi connection is weak but did not let that dampen our break !
Would definitely recommend this cottage to others. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms and bathrooms are all comfortable and beautifully appointed.
We had a lovely stay. Cottage was right on the riverside with lovely views and was easy to find. Everything was in working order. What we liked: 1. Views and location 2. Accessibility to Cotswolds and Stratford upon Avon 3. Close to supermarket - very easy to walk out and get groceries What could be improved: 1. Provision of additional dishwashing tablets (only 3 provided even though we stayed for 5 days) 2. Provision of washing powder for clothes - it was supposed to be provided as per manual but we found none 3. Dryer would have been great
We had a good time in the holiday house, it was well equipped and the fire place was great. The walking trail in the front of the house as great too!
The cottage was warm and comfortable and everything worked perfectly. It was reasonably well appointed in the kitchen though I could not reach the small plates on the top shelf. It was a pity the chocolate cake left for me was out of date as it just gives a bad impression even though it was fine. I had a very pleasant time there and enjoyed the local pub.
We booked The Old Smithy for a short break after a very busy time. It was idyllic. We did't want to do very much and to sit in front of a log fire in a beautiful cottage was out of this world. Everything you could want was there in this cosy cottage. so thank you so much.
It was a beautiful cottage, ideally situated clii of de to Chipping Campden high street.. the garden was lovely, looking over fields.. However, the cottage was not as clean as the usual holidays that we usually book through Rural Retreats…. It was a bit like Waitrose Essential Range…. Good but not up to their superior standards.. No welcome pack but a £30 voucher for a shop in the village was a nice touch .. We did have a good time though
We arrived at Upper End after two weeks of travelling in luxury hotels so I wasn't sure how we would feel after being spoilt from serviced environments. Any reservations were quickly discarded! The house was everything and more we could ask for. Homely, restful, clean and located in a rural spot where the birds sing but 5 mins from multiple towns including Burford which has many shops, restaurants and a coop for our grocery needs. The welcome eggs, milk and small supplies were greatly appreciated after 11hrs of travel that day. Our family of 5 couldn't have felt more rested and relaxed. We spe...more
We had a great stay, cottage was perfect and the location suited us really well. however the grass was really long which stopped us being able to use the garden for any games etc. Also when we arrived the recycling bins were full up from the previous guests which made it difficult for us to place any of our recycling there. One of the sofa legs (2 seater chair) were broken. Cottage was extremely well equipped and we really appreciated the early check in .
We had a wonderful time at Hope Cottage. It is a charming cottage wel equipped, spacious and tastefully decorated. Good situated with a pub in the neighbourhood that serves delicious food. Highly recommended!
We had an amazing stay in Bay tree cottage, very well thought out with everything you need and more. Wonderful welcome pack left for our arrival The cottage is just beautiful, very quaint, very clean and very welcoming Location is just perfect to visit some wonderful places in the Cotswolds as very central to lots of places to visit Our only downside, which did not spoil our stay was the Weather !! But that’s typical of our country !! Amazing cottage,in a beautiful location which we highly recommend Thank you for our stay
We had a wonderful few days here with friends. The location was beautiful and easy to visit this beautiful area The accommodation was very good lovely layout good quality furnishings and plenty of kitchen implements The underfloor heating was cosy on your feet but did get warm and was tricky to regulate but opening a window allowed for good airflow The owner was so kind and thoughtful too
The location was amazing. The amount of wildlife we saw from right outside the cottage was incredible. The cottage was comfortable, very roomy and felt really homely. The place needed a bit of TLC in places. The main shower leaked through the floor into the hallway downstairs. However cotswolds hideaways sent out a plumber the next working day and were very apologetic and kind throughout the process. Overall we would recommend the place as a quiet retreat!
The Old Chequer is beautiful cottage situated in a lovely location. From Drayton you can explore so many National Trust properties, Cotswolds Farm Park and villages like Bampton, Burton on the Water & Moreton in the Marsh. Once you've explored and are loaded up with goodies from the local farm shops, you can settle down in front of a log fire on comfortable sofas and relax. The old stone floored kitchen has all the mod-cons and access to a well maintained garden with lovely planting, Our dog loved it and spent a lot of time sniffing and snuffling around, as we sat out on the patio. Both the...more
The cottage is in a great location, with a nice view of the church, and an easy uphill walk to the town. I was expecting the cottage to be cosy and quirky but, sadly, it was more shabby and could do with a facelift.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Top Cottage. It is well appointed and quirky, with plenty of room for everyone. We had some very wet weather and greatly appreciated the cosy log fire. The annexe is excellent, ideal for anyone who likes their own space. The outside space is very private and pretty. The only negative comment I have is it would be sensible to have dinnerplates that fit into the small dishwasher, they were too large so had to be hand washed.
Corner Cottage is a very nice cottage in a lovely village but we did have a couple of problems that, as it turned out, were not exclusive to this cottage. We found it was invaded to a minor degree with wood lice, but this is a problem more to do with the weather and it is not the only cottage in the area with the problem. There was also a damp smell throughout, (which was commented on by previous guests in the reviews), that we got used to so that didn't spoil our experience too much. The feedback from the agency was very good and the housekeeper, Keith, came around and explained the backgroun...more
