The cottage is chocolate box . We really enjoyed our stay as the cottage it’s so warm and cosy it’s very clean and tasteful decor in keeping with such a lovely place. It’s in a really lovely village typical Cotswolds type. We would highly recommend and will most certainly be going back.
Excellent in every way. Good location. Pleasant local walks and nearby pub. Ideal sized property with good views and easy parking.
A truly remarkable property, we very much enjoyed the tranquility and our hosts’ generosity and warmth. We will be back!
A beautiful property, tastefully decorated and very clean. Checking in and out was easy. Easy to walk along the river to Stratford and to some local pubs. A secluded spot but building work has started behind the property so there was noise from machinery.
A beautifully presented cottage and garden room. So welcoming with a hamper and tea tray. Lisa is super responsive and helpful. The attention to detail this perfect Lovey local pub nearby. Can’t wait to go back
We had a fabulous holiday. Harrowby End provides comfortable, cosy accommodation, with comfortable beds and a beautiful outdoor space for an evening aperitif. The local pub offers good food and you can walk to Hidcote Manor from the cottage. All great ingredients for a fabulous week.
Fantastic location, Broadway just a 10-minute walk into the village. The house was ideal for what we needed for our family weekend away - age range 86-27. The welcome package was amazing - the best one we have had to date! Fiona was very friendly, welcoming and great communication. Considering coming back next year! We can recommend the Tattersals Brasserie Broadway for Sunday lunch - Deeelicious! Staff were very friendly and courteous. Have booked to go again in 2 weeks' time for a girly weekend. Russels Fish & Chips another recommendation - lovely staff - get in early - it's a ver...more
This cottage was magical. Typical chocolate box cottage from outside with an internal twist with wonderful bathrooms and kitchen. Each room was perfect and only wish we could have sat in the garden as well. If I had one complaint, the open fire was difficult to set up and we had a back draft of smoke which we smelt for a few days - a log burner would probably cure this? Otherwise a fabulous stay
Grooms Cottage provided the perfect get away. Very generous and comfortable accommodation in secluded position just across the road from the pub which served excellent evening meals. The weather could have been kinder, but this did not spoil our visit. We wanted a complete break away from the pressures of everyday life and that is what we got. We will be back!
Manor Farm is a characterful property that is well maintained. The attention to detail considers the needs of every guest. All bedrooms comfortably sleep 2 in a large double or twin beds with excellent bedding. The showers are warm and powerful and bathrooms well-appointed. As a group, we have rented many houses over tha last 10 + years and this one was voted at the top. The area is ideal for long or short walks and good hills with spectacular views. Also ideal for those who enjoy sightseeing or shopping.
Chapel House was stunning, beautifully renovated, lovely and modern but still keeping integrity of the building. Everything you could want was supplied. Could’nt have asked for more.
What was not to love! The cottage was incredibly peaceful, comfortable and cosy! Interior decor- lovely! Fantastic beds! We slept so well! Stunning little village setting; great general local shopping in Evesham- 10 mins away- and then the glorious Cotswold countryside/ villages/ towns-all spectular! The owner couldn’t do enough for us! So very helpful!
We enjoyed our short break at Alysas, the locality, access to amenities, walking in the countryside was excellent. The cottage facilities were not lacking.
We loved this house. The garden is a tranquil haven. Blessed with fabulous weather we spent most time watching the river and the life going by. The house was spotlessly clean and well equipped, with beautiful views from every window. We rented a narrow boat next door - so convenient and spent a glorious day on the river. Perfect weekend and highly recommended.
We spent a week as a family at Gardeners Cottage. The cottage was absolutely lovely and a pleasure to stay in from the first day to the last. It was clean, well presented with lovely furniture and a well equipped kitchen. The little touches of a hamper on arrival and tea/coffee available made all the difference. We had a short call with the owner prior to arrival to sort access to the keys etc and she was very kind and welcoming. All in all an amazing week of walks, pub dinners and board games around the wood burner fireplace. We would love to come back - thank you.
Hunter Court is such a beautiful space. It felt like home. We took our two new grandchildren and their parents, and we were able to be very comfortably together, but also alone when needed in the many beautiful spaces. Highly recommended.
Had a great 4 night stay at Tetbury! Appreciated the welcome basket with tidbits, drinks and even delicious homemade apple juice. The room was comfy, the kitchen was well stocked for cooking and living room was perfect with Netflix available for a cosy night in. The town is really charming, with so many great restaurants! We particularly enjoyed Lola, the Spanish tapas place and the local fish and chips store! Cafe 53 has a really great souvenir and craft shop for quaint shopping!
The Glen is a chocolate box cottage in a lovely Cotswold village. It is incredibly peaceful and tranquil. The beds were super comfortable with pristine white bedding and the lounge was cosy and comfortable. We had a fabulous stay and most things were top-notch. There were a couple of things which we felt could’ve been better – the kitchen units were a little tired looking and Had been well used, so the drawers were quite clunky to open and close. We were unable to find a potato peeler or a key to fit the second of the double doors into the garden but Cotswold hideaways responded well when we ...more
It was everything we expected an fully met our needs. The location was ideal and the weather was very kind. My only criticism is we found the sofa very uncomfortable for watching tv, which was not that often.
What a delight. Beds very comfortable Garden was beautiful. Space to relax and enjoy the accommodation. Parking a bonus. Location perfect.
The garden is not as shown on the website. It is very overgrown and shaded by large trees overhanging into the garden which causes a lot of shade. The area is extremely quiet, which is both a good and a bad thing. The shower door was broken when we arrived and was not fixed before we left, although the shower was perfectly usable. The barbeque was dirty and needed cleaned. In general the cottage was very clean and fresh, with a very nice welcome pack.
Lovely cottage, in small village. Cottage is very private, we had full sun all day everyday could not have been better
Lovely cottage in a pretty quiet location fairly close to many lovely villages and towns. Cottage was very clean and comfortable. The food and wine awaiting us at the cottage was much appreciated as was the fresh eggs from the owners own hens
Had a wonderful stay at Little Shrublands: very comfortable cottage in excellent location. Well equipped and lovely furnishing.
A beautiful cottage, very well equipped and comfortable. Perfect for a short break, or longer. Cosy in winter and lovely garden to sit in in warmer months.
The flat was small but well designed to make the most of the space and with an excellent bathroom. Extra space was provided by a glass covered extension at the front. Bournes green, although quite close to Stroud, which we visited for shopping was very quiet and secluded., set amongst lovely valley countryside. With good weather we were able to walk locally everyday and got the relaxing break that we needed. If the weather had not been so good there were places to visit not too far away. That was all complemented by Mrs Pye's friendly and helpful hospitality. We felt very mush 'at home'...more
Beautiful old building with lots of original features but with all the required mod-cons for a comfortable stay. We had 6 adults and two grandchildren with plenty of room to accommodate us all. Grounds and gardens were superb with tennis court, games room and gym. Easy driving to all places we needed to see, Stratford-on-Avon being the main attraction and Bourton-on-the-Water never loses it's charm so a lovely day was spent there.
Nellie’s Barn was the perfect place to stay during our first visit to the Cotswolds. A short drive to Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold. Debbie provided a hamper of goodies on arrival and was there to meet us. The addition of an enclosed paddock for our dog was perfect too. The barn itself was well-equipped and comfortable and although on a working farm, it was very quiet. A great place to relax.
We have been visiting the Cotswolds for 30 years and stayed in many cottages. Aople Cottage is definitely one of the best. Snowshill is a beautiful quiet village, well away from busy roads. Lots of walks directly from the door. Both bedrooms are spacious and have very good quality bedding We preferred the ground floor bedroom (actually raised ground floor) for the beautiful view. The living room is spacious with a huge fireplace and a large window overlooking the courtyard. The dining table also very nice. We prefer the North Cotswolds so the position of this cottage was ideal for us. It was ...more
Excellent accommodation set in beautiful surroundings . Lovely welcome pack. My only criticism is my husband is disabled needed a chair in shower down stairs and also some kind of shelf on the wall to hold toiletries in the shower and maybe a crab bar. We had a great stay visited lots of places and it helped because we had great weather.Would recommend this farm house to everybody it had everything you needed plus more. Owner was very friendly. Will go back again.
Very relaxing and peaceful stay, wonderful location with amazing views from the garden Would definitely return to this property
Fairfields is a joyous house, so well situated with ease to the pubs, shops, Arboretum & so many other places to walk. Also so many interesting places to visit that are close by. We found lots of places to visit which were amazing and of fascinating interest. Then back to the lovely house to relax with a glass of wine and put your feet up.
We had a great time at The Chestnuts. It’s very clean, well equipped and in a great location. The only criticism I would have is it’s very hard for everyone to sit comfortably together to watch the TV. I think it would be possible to get another smaller sofa in the main sitting room? The original staircase is an amazing feature. 3 out of 4 people I was travelling with struggled to get up and down them. A proper handrail would help and I think it should be mentioned in the details. Having made this honest comments we otherwise loved the house and had a very special time celebrating our birth...more
The Coach House and Stables at the Lammas is a lovely, spacious ,comfortable and fully equipped cottage in the Cotswolds. The only facility lacking was a downstairs loo! Otherwise perfect for a party of 8.
Diamond Cottage is perfect for a weekend stay in the Cotswolds. Very easy walking access to the local town which has a lovely supply of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. The garden is surprisingly large for the size of the cottage which was an added bonus! Very well stocked with everything you need to cook at home or eat out. An added bonus was a voucher to use at the local delicious Deli.
The cottage was a bit difficult to find, but lovely when we arrived. The provisions were very welcome after a long drive. A very comfortable and well equipped cottage with plenty of parking and space to relax inside and out. Just a couple of negatives We couldnt get the hang of the tv as we are probably old technophobes with no experience of 'apps' on a tv The second bedroom would be ideal for children but too small for an adult couple.
We arrived on Friday night to a lovely cottage on the High Street with ample parking for a large car. The cottage was a delight to explore and beautifully decorated. We were delighted to find a lovely welcome pack waiting for us in the kitchen, our daughter especially liked the double chocolate biscuits. The kitchen was very well equipped and we really liked the way the kitchen was designed. The sitting/dining room was very comfortable and the large television had access to Netflix and iPlayer. The bedrooms were lovely each with their own modern bathroom, very comfortable beds, with cotto...more
A lovely cottage right in the heart of Tetbury. Nice furnishings and well equipped. Enjoyed the log fire on the stormy nights. Few things for improvement - the house particulars before you book should provide more info on how difficult the parking access is. Missing handle on drawer in master bedroom gives impression of lack of love. Cutting corners with a cheap and nasty hairdryer and Tesco products in the hamper takes away some of the ‘wow’ you should get when you walk in which is a shame because there’s so much that’s good about the place.
Beautiful immaculate house. The two wood burning stoves were an added bonus. Lovely lounge and kitchen. Wonderful way to spend our 50th wedding anniversary with the family, much fun and laughter. We really appreciated the way our booking was handled by the Cotswolds Hideaway team, very helpful and professional and look forward to using them once again. Great location ,beautiful scenery. Also must mention the quality of the Welcome Pack. Thank you for an amazing four days.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Bothy in Halford. The cottage was exceptionally placed for visiting the area with many National Trust places nearby. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped with a lovely patio to sit outside. Cotswolds Hideaways were very prompt to resolve a small problem. We hope to return one day.
This accommodation was delightful in every way. A welcome pack of fruit, cake, and coffee, always makes a great first impression. The place itself is tastefully furnished and decorated and feels like a home from home. The attention to the little things makes such a difference - a good wifi service, a decent TV which starkly contrasts from what we have just had in Cumbria! Not as though you necessarily plan to stay in - but researching the area online does require wifi that is reliable. Watching the odd Netflix movie in 4k requires a punchier service than a dial-up connection. Appreciate this a...more
Four friends who trained together as nurses some 40+ years ago, spending some quality time together and Millstone cottage provided everything we had hoped for; very comfortable, well equipped, fantastic sociable kitchen, lots of bedrooms and bathrooms and a short stroll to the fab and friendly shops, cafés and restaurants. All in the gorgeous village of Bourton-on-the-Water. My West Highland Terrier enjoyed it too, especially the good sized garden. Although we had horrible weather, it made snuggling up on the sofas in front of the log burner all the more special. We’ll be back, we are sure!
Our first impression from the outside was very favourable . This cottage is in a beautiful village in a perfect location for visiting the well known surrounding villages such as Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the water, Broadway and Burford . We were a little disappointed with the inside. It is very small with limited storage . However, the owners, who live in the adjoining cottage, are very pleasant and helpful. They kindly stored our dog’s frozen food in their freezer for us. Much appreciated. They also left a welcome bowl of fruit and biscuits which we thought was kind and thoughtful. The lit...more
Nice and quiet. Had to find out the walks that go straight from the cottage ourselves. Could have been more info. Overall good.
We really enjoyed our stay at Spring Cottage. It is beautifully located in Painswick and the directions were good. The welcome basket was generous and helped us settle in easily. Each room was attractive and well set up. A drying rack would have been helpful as would a washing machine although we appreciated having some done for us after a week.
We had a wonderful stay at The Coppice, we had a celebration of my wife’s 70th birthday with the family, perfect location for lovely walks, and a nice walk to local pub for a good meal, we loved it so much that we hope to replicate it again at some point.
House was located in peaceful lane, lovely countryside views. It was very clean, very homely, we all wanted to stay longer. Garden was safe for the children. It does seem a lot of money but we had such a wonderful long weekend it was worth it and I would definitely book again
My husband is disabledandcwe have dogs which is why we booked a property all on one level.l and dog friendly. It would have been easier with a couple of small ramps up to the door. Very well equipped kitchen and lovely luxurious touches were noted and appreciated. Very confy bed. Lovely quaint village. Lots of walks and lovely church with carved mice. Red lion pup very friendly and helpful with my husband.
Pear Tree Cottage was the perfect destination. Close to all of the Cotswolds in a small idyllic village. Everything you need is supplied and beautifully decorated to a luxurious standard. We enjoyed the outdoor bar and BBQ that was heated for a slightly chilly night, outdoor seating in multiple areas and a well equipped kitchen for cooking. The local Pub - Horse and Groom - around the corner also had great meals and atmosphere. Lots of rooms to be separate or together around the wonderful large table or in the study for work or TV room for a chill out. We recommend Pear Tree Cottage to a...more
Was a perfect size for us. Was nice to have the fire was laid for when we arrived. It was easy to use. Lovely walks from the house. A very friendly pub to both dogs and people. The food was good. The only downside was the excessive cost we had to pay for the dogs.
Lovely cottage and fantastic welcome but a bit overpriced given lack of TV (temporary) and proper table.
A throughly enjoyable stay.Settees in Watery Park Barn too deep. Outdoor seating fantastic. A wonderful Family gathering venue
Although it was hard to find at first & the directions were not specific enough, when we eventually found The Coach House we absolutely loved it. The house had everything that you could ever want & we appreciated the hamper that was left for us. There was wood for the fire supplied, Netflix as well & the house was very comfortable & warm. I loved the combined washer/dryer. It is very centrally located also & easy to get to all the villages. We loved it.
We were really happy with the property, clean and perfect location for Stow etc. Plenty of space for the two of us and the dog. Property was warm and comfortable and there was plenty of firewood. Only minor criticism was that the bathroom was actually too warm, but it did mean towels were always try. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.
The property was very clean, comfortable and well prepared. The open plan living and dining area worked well for our party of 10 and we made good use of the gas BBQ, tennis court and games room facilities. The beds and bathroom facilities were very good and the only minor issue was that the garden was somewhat neglected and had suffered following the recent dry spell. With a bit of TLC this could be rectified and would enhance the accommodation even more. The location provided a very good base for exploring the surrounding area, although some places were very busy during our weekend stay. ...more
We were generally very happy with Devon House Cottage. The directions for finding it were great and easy to follow, and it was so quiet! Upon arrival we noticed that perhaps the cleanliness could have been a little better with the staircase carpet noticeably in need of more vacuuming. The hot water was great but the operation of the heating system was a little confusing. We also noted that there appeared to be no way of recycling food waste. Information supplied about the recycling included reference to food waste but there was no food caddy either in the kitchen or outside along with the othe...more
The cottage was easy to find and well located on the edge of Quenington. Inside the overall impression was good : kitchen is light and generally well equipped (no extraction fan over hob) with a cosy sitting area. The main sitting room seats four comfortably- bit of a squeeze if more in the party. Main bedroom with en-suite shower good, bedding was fresh and plenty of storage. The other two bedrooms were twin bedded, one more suitable to children as beds are narrow and the room is small. On the negative side: Mattresses and pillows could do with replacing. There wasn’t any tea or coffee or...more
The cottage is very charming and, as others have said, the welcome pack was great. The location is good and although the parking is tight, we managed it adequately. The garden is lovely and very inspirational. We had a comfortable stay and would recommend to others.
The Old Bakery was the absolutely perfect venue for 5 friends and a dog to escape away to for a long weekend. The house has every comfort you could wish for, and was so cosy that in November we didn't need the heating on all weekend. Our hosts were really thoughtful and had left milk, tea, coffee, oil and snacks for the humans, all locally sourced, however to find a towel, bowl, poo bags and pack of treats for the dog was such a lovely touch, and the treats went down a storm! The location is great with plenty to do, including dog walks from the doorstep.
A great cottage for a Cotswolds weekend especially with some lovely autumn colours. Very well equipped though some fire gloves would have been useful. Second bed's matress was very hard but guess just intended for a child.
This is such great accommodation in a beautiful area of the Cotswolds. The barn conversion is as described, and the check-in/out process was very straightforward. The house is well equiped with all we needed and there was a welcome bag with t-bags, coffee, milk, orange juice and biscuits. It is self catering, but given what we paid for the week, it surely wouldn't have been too much to include more than 3 toilet rolls to be left for a booking of 4 people! That's the first time in self catering that we'd come across this, as normally that's included. There's wonderful space outside to enjoy sitt...more
We would if it was absolutely child / dog friendly because of Brook opening to side of cottage easy for getting out & dangerous as near Rd also opening in bottom of hedge also not safe for children / dogs we know this as our dog got out we would love to come back
An old cottage and with all the charm that goes with that. Low ceiling on stairs. Probably all you would need for 2 people to enjoy a quiet stay in the Cotswolds. Opposite the church and very close to the centre of Chipping Norton town, about 4 minutes walk up a steep hill. The furnishings are dated (in keeping with the age of the cottage) and worn but a mixture of styles without theme - a bit like a bric brac shop!! Interesting mixture of art on the walls. A major negative is the motley collection of china, crockery, cutlery and kitchen items. Looks like the contents came from a charity shop!...more
Absolutely loved our stay at this lovely and quirky cottage. On arrival there was a lovely welcome hamper with yummy treats. Very impressed with the cleanliness, couldn't fault it at all. The garden was gorgeous, so many beautiful abundance of flowers. Living in a town it was such a pleasure to see all the birdlife, and we were fortunate to see so many different birds. Finally, The fox is most be visited, very friendly staff good food and drink.
Sheepscombe Byre is a very comfortable barn conversion close to the beautiful village of Snowshill. The village pub is within walking distance down a quite steep hill. The access lane to the property is a very narrow single track. The property has everything you need for a comfortable break in this part of the world. The barn is sited closer to the owners property than suggested on the photographs but this was not a problem as they not intrusive.
Lovely cottage in Cotswold Village near to Stow and Moreton. Small outside terraced area. Had a main bathroom and an incomplete en-suite in the top floor bedroom which at time of occupation had a bit of a smell. Warned in advance. Dishwasher but no washing machine. Front door lock annoyingly difficult to open/ close and needs replacing. Hot water remotely controlled and had to alter timings with owner. Generally very clean. Lots of walks and places to eat nearby.
We are six couples who meet up every year and do a bit of walking. This was a perfect setting and location. There was ample space for the twelve of us and the barn was very well equipped. The utensils and crockery and cutlery were more than adequate for eating in and there was a good range of excellent pubs nearby for eating out.
This house would get a 5-star review if it was a bit cleaner and updated. Things are a bit tired and it needs a deep clean. When we arrived there was a miscommunication between the agency and the cleaning company so we came into a dirty house. It was very frustrating but I will say the agency handled it and put us in a hotel for the night. Overall the stay was wonderful, just a few things could be deep cleaned and updated-corners of floors dirty, towels, and pillows tired. Will come again.
Lowfields was the perfect location for those seeking peace and quiet. Only took about 20 minutes to reach other places of interest, such as Burton on the Water, Upper and Lower Slaughter, Burford etc. Would certainly love to go back for another visit.
Very loud creaking floorboards were a big problem as if anyone went to toilet in middle of night or got up eearly to go downstairs it woke others sleeping up.
This cottage was booked fort a 60th Birthday with family and was perfect, we (parents) stayed in the Annexe which was great as seperate from kids (all in late 20s/30s) however, the bed in the annexe was too small for us so I slept on sofabed. Perfect location for Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water and also great for lakes, weather was perfect would definately go back. Thanks
The location is perfect for a family with two young boys and dogs. Unfortunately there are a number of things missing in the kitchen. Only the minimum number of mugs and glasses (plenty of wine glasses) two serving dishes and one saucepan - not ideal when catering for a group of eight. Also the TV in the lounge is very small.
