We have had a super stay at Hayloft. I am in a wheelchair much of the time and the cottage was easy to maneuver around and very comfortable. The stairs to the main bedroom were a bit of a challenge for me but well worth the effort - beautiful beamed room and bathroom. Nice sitting out areas drenched in sun. With a lovely hamper of local food ready on our arrival.
Little Shrublands is one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Great location in a lovely village. We enjoyed several barbecues in the lovely garden. Cottage is very well equipped with comfortable beds and comfortable sofas. Oh yes and the welcome pack was greatly appreciated.
This was an outstanding house! A home from home! A perfect pet friendly cottage in the true sense of the words! Can’t wait to return.
Excellent getaway in a quiet hamlet with great pub only 2 minutes walk. Fantastic retreat for exploring the Cotswolds.
We had an amazing short stay. David is a fantastic host. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. The surroundings are beautiful, and the location is great. We highly recommend and will surely return.
we had a lovely stay here, the place was immaculate, and patricia was the perfect host. basic foods on arrival which was really appreciated. the apartment, is beautifully decorated and provides a perfect setting. such a lovely stay and would definately return.
Had a lovely few days here with my mum, 2 girls and our dog, beautiful cottage and lovely surrounding area.
We had to make a last minute booking and everything was handled impeccably. We arrived quite late but the next morning Andy arrived with a welcome package which was really appreciated (and unexpected!) The cottage was impeccable, had everything you would need and was very conveniently as we needed to be close to our daughter which was only a few miles away. I would highly recommend this cottage if you are looking for a place to stay in the Cotswold are
We chose Gardener's Cottage for its proximity to Burford. The house is beautiful and was spotlessly clean. The garden looked lovely with the daffodils in bloom. We had a very enjoyable stay and shall return later this year.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Moore Cottage, it is equipped with all you need for a relaxed and enjoyable holiday. We would have no hesitation in recommending More Cottage. It is ideally situated to explore The Cotswolds. We will be visiting again.
Lovely accommodation for 2 people in a beautiful village. Fantastic hamper awaiting us which was very much appreciated after a long very wet journey from the North of England. Ideally situated for many attractions. Would hope to return.
Overall lovely stay. Perfect for our small family. Had everything we needed. Perfect location. Essentially, it was perfect tranquility without giving up any amenities. We would go back in a second.
Having previously stayed in comparitively priced properties, this one far and exceeds our previous experiences . It was better provided in so many ways. The small but significant touches like dog biscuits and towels , good quality bed linen (changed after the first week ) together with the excellent hamper were much appreciated. The house is in spectacular condition and we have no qualms in extolling the virtues of the property and service we received over the 2 weeks holiday.
Our recent stay at Apple Cottage could not have been more pleasant! From the moment we walked in the door to this perfectly clean, tastefully decorated cottage we felt instantly comfortable. While the home itself was absolutely lovely, the surroundings and views were stunning! We were able to hike many gorgeous walks and cycle quiet roads right out our front door. It will not be our last visit to Apple Cottage!!!
All clean and tidy. Just a few additions would have made it even better. There was no shaver socket in bathroom and using hairdryer near mirror difficult - we had to the move mirror. Could do with a full length mirror as well. Kitchen could be improved by addition of a second small saucepan and a few microwave bowls , plastic or glass. As this is an accommodation for two, meals are therefore prepared in small quantities.
Having stayed in the Cotswolds previously we had an idea of what to expect location wise as Snowshill was a village we knew about, however your accommodation is another thing entirely. We need not to have worried as Oat Hill Coach House was delightful. Characterful from the outside, a lovely Cotswold stone building situated on the edge of a beautiful small village. It was modern and clean on the inside, there has been some care taken in the refurbishment of the property for the rental market, it has quality fittings throughout and plenty of glasses, cutlery and crockery. The beds were super co...more
Lovely house in a fabulous location. Was a great base for a first time visit to the Cotswolds. Would definitely visit again
Excellent location. Lovely cottage and pretty courtyard. Fabulous hamper. Could have done with a thinner duvet on the bed for June.
Beautiful old building with lots of original features but with all the required mod-cons for a comfortable stay. We had 6 adults and two grandchildren with plenty of room to accommodate us all. Grounds and gardens were superb with tennis court, games room and gym. Easy driving to all places we needed to see, Stratford-on-Avon being the main attraction and Bourton-on-the-Water never loses it's charm so a lovely day was spent there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Glen. It is a beautiful, comfortable house, brilliantly located and with the benefit of a parking space (although a tight squeeze for a big car!) We had a lovely stay - enjoying the local pubs, walking...and even attending the village amateur dramatics! We will definitely be back.
Loved New Year and Easter here, with both a log burner and a sun trap garden. The space is small but feels fresh, uncluttered and cosy. Attractive Kingham easy to reach by rail with many good walks and pubs nearby, not least the wonderful Wild Rabbit on your doorstep.
Thank you for a lovely weekend . Coniston house is beautiful in an excellent location . So many places to eat bust and walk to.
The cottage was great and the location was great. Only a dishwasher would have improved things. The local pub is great but gets very busy on a Saturday night. You need to book to get a table. It's the only pub in Naunton so if you can't get in you have to go to Stow or Bourton
Beautiful quiet cottage, well presented, lovely area with a quirky pub down the road. Welcome pack was great and all mod cons you would need for a relaxing time.
Stephen the owner was delightful and extremely helpful! The house was a fantastic size with bathrooms for each room. The garden and surrounding land was fantastic for roaming. The location of the house to Dover Hill and Broadgate Tower was brilliant and walkable (if a keen rambler). Lovely stay!
The family and I absolutely loved staying in this cottage. So cosy and what a beautiful garden for the children and dogs to enjoy. Gorgeous views - we were very sad to leave and will definitely return.
We stayed here at the end of February to celebrate a friends marriage. It was the perfect stay, on arriving don't be wary about driving into a farm because as soon as you enter the property you will be wowed. The main house is stunning and the perfect space for entertaining, the ktichen well stocked and enough cutlery to fit the enormous dining table. Hirons Piece was amazing for the older members of our party and those with children, the kitchen/dining area was really beautiful. The main house has so much character and is the perfect place for entertaining, the location is great and its abo...more
We recently stayed for a week at the wonderful Mary’s Acre. We are a family of 8 adults and a 3 and 7 year old. The property is very well appointed in every way and no expense spared. The garden is an absolute joy and together with treehouse and slide made it even more fun for the children. Updated instructions for Wi-fi and TV equipment would be helpful. But that’s not the reason for staying here! Wonderful peaceful location, and pub just around the corner. No surprise that there are repeated visits. Thanks
Super stylish, comfortable, quiet, roaring fires, lovely walks, great for kids - so relaxing. Visited Cirencester and the wildlife park, but really didn’t want to leave the cottage. A real home from home, Bella (4) loved her room and all the lovely toys.
Lovely comfortable cottage with good facilities. Very clean and well prepared. Beautiful tranquil garden, enclosed so dogs were safe. Lovely Welcome Hamper. We have visited the area before so knew this was a good location for us (dog walks, pubs etc.) Lovely to see the addition of the great cafe at the Community Shop. We hope to be back.
The cottage is absolutely beautiful and decorated and equipped to a very high standard, however, to stay here you must be fit! The two oak staircases are outstanding and we loved the look but I have never found spiral staircases the easiest to use and it is very difficult to carry suitcases up and down these takes a great deal of effort. Fortunately, there are cloakrooms/bathrooms on each of the 3 floors. We had to contact the owner and she was really pleasant and helpful also a small welcome pack including wine, chocolate and milk (life's essentials) were left - Thank you If you are y...more
A lovely week at this very quiet relaxing spot half a mile off the main road. Very kind hosts made us so welcome, and provided all the necessary local advice needed to complete a much enjoyed week.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful area. Although in need of some repairs, and could have been cleaner, the cottage is cosy, with comfortable bed's and very good showers. There was an oversight, the hamper was not there on our arrival, and we had to phone and ask for it. The products were brought to us in a wire supermarket shopping basket, which didn't have quite the same impact but the hamper was very good, and contained everything needed for a short stay. The area is very pretty, and the pub food very good. Don't be put off by the few criticisms, we had a lovely stay, and would book again.
A compact and cosy property, ideally situated for accessing the whole of the Cotswolds area, a very enjoyable week.
What glorious views from the Pavilion. A lovely property overlooking the rolling Costwold Hills. Make sure you take binoculars if you enjoy wildlife watching - we saw Buzzards, red kites, an owl hunting, and deer during our stay. The location is fantastic if you have a car and it is walkable to the 'pub within one mile', however it is not open every day and is not your average country watering hole if you are looking for just a quick pint or two. The nearby villages have more 'down to earth' options a short car journey away.
Once a barn it is difficult to perceive how this residence would have appeared prior to its renovation as it truly is a lovely property, very nice done and with a lovely flow and feel to it. It’s situation was for us, it’s most redeeming feature however. Situated on farm land and on grounds which might once have been used to hold cattle this beautiful setting is distant from the local towns which become very busy throughout the peak seasons, and is thus serene at all times. We had of our four days three very rainy and wet days but it didn’t matter because with lovely walks around (just wea...more
Lovely five day stay with family.Well equipped and cosy. Only irritating issue was door keys, each door had two locks but no keys were labelled and by the front door was a laminated note about fire safety. It took us ages to find the correct key and leave it by the front door . Would have been helpful if there had been info regarding what could be recycled as every county is different regarding plastics.
We had 4 very relaxing days. The location was peaceful , & the accommodation comfortable & also a good location for travellers around the Cotswolds
The cottage is in an excellent location for visiting lots of places and within walking distance of the local restaurants and pubs with the bonus of off road parking. It is well equipped and furnished to a high standard.
Another stay in this delightful, peaceful cottage in a quiet spot. The garden is exceptional and the views beyond it are stunning - it's a relaxing stay. The cottage has a calm and welcoming atmosphere and is always well presented on arrival. There were a couple of tiny blips this time, but Cotswolds Hideaways' sister company, Rural Retreats (their phone number left in the cottage), sorted these out straightaway. The only thing I would mention is the parking - the space is small and turning room tight. Parking is available further down the lane.
We had an enjoyable stay at Bay Tree Cottage, Vanessa the owner welcomed us. Although situated close to a busy junction, the cottage is in a lovely location for walking and exploring the local area. The front garden was well maintained and lovely to sit and relax in after our walks. Would definitely return to this area again.
We holidayed with friends for a week at The Cider Press which was most enjoyable. The welcome pack was amazing and to find everyday necessities (tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, washing pods tea towels etc) was brilliant. There were many little extras one would not usually find in a holiday property. The owner is very nice & lives nearby. The lounge is large and well furnished with comfortable sofas & chairs. The kitchen is of a good size, well fitted & nicely furnished. The only thing we didn't like was apart from the fridge there was nowhere to store food as all cupboards were ful...more
This is a perfect cottage set in a perfect location for visiting nearby villages and attractions. We would definitely stay again. My only criticism is the single mattress in the single room. The springs have gone and the bed was very uncomfortable for my mother. She didn’t sleep well at all unfortunately.
Very well equipped barn conversion at the edge of the Cotswolds. Had a birthday party there with many people coming from abroad. Plenty of space indoors to hang out and nice patio outside for bbq. All bedrooms have en-suites. Kitchen made it easy to cater for 15 people. Owner was very supportive and relaxed. Strongly recommend.
We stayed at Compton House for four nights. It’s a great base for exploring the Cotswolds. Good parking provision. It’s a large house although in practice we mainly used the kitchen and tv room rather than the formal living room (no tv for the evenings). The centre of Chipping Campden is easily accessible with a car or a 10 minute stroll across the meadow. Our toddler son loved playing in and exploring the garden.
Beautiful cottage, light and airy, in an excellent location, from which it is possible to take several good walks. The contents of the hamper were very welcome. For the convenience of guests I would suggest relocating the microwave in the kitchen to the other side of the sink to give more room for access and to avoid banging one's head on the stair case. Cutlery, crockery (including the cake tin and saucepan) were less clean than we would have expected. We noticed a small gap in the floor tile grouting near the shower door; in time this could potentially lead to a leak to the fl...more
We had a one week stay at Millstone Cottage. The home was very clean and had good proximity to the town centre as well as the many, lovely footpaths. The beds were terribly hard, small and uncomfortable making for a week of poor sleep and low energy during the day. Won’t be back.
Very nice house somewhat closer to the road than the pictures show you when choosing this property. A house with one glaring omission no banisters anywhere.I know the brochure pointed this out but it did not make it clear how steep the stairs were. We tried to telephone Heather on mobile and landline on the day we arrived but could not raise her we eventually found the house keys in the darkness of the wood shed a light would be helpfull.
Very nice location and setting. Only slightly let down by furniture which is well passed its sell by date, in particular the bed and settee. The bed is on a slope and when you’re lying in it you feel like you’re sliding out of it. Otherwise a good place for a few days break. The welcome pack was very much appreciated.
Steep spiral stairs to all floors not suitable for a couple of 88 year olds but we managed. Lovely garden to sit in the sunshine. Daughter and granddaughter enjoyed it immensely. Perfect for relieving the stress they have been under. Lovely and warm in the property (early April). Many interesting places to explore nearby. Would recommend Ask Italian restaurant in Morton, good food and ambiance. Nice staff. The key holder in the porch was a bit of a fiddle. Put the code in and press the top button. The keypad comes away to reveal the keys inside. Enjoy!
Cottage needs some refurnishment, e.g flooring. No where to air towels. Microwave needed a good clean. We were told there would be a hamper and a list of items in that hamper were given but there was no bread or butter which could have been a problem if you were counting on it being there. The advertised fishing lake was not useable and therefore we had two disappointed fisherman. The paddock needed the grass cut and was not private as it had a right of way through it.
One must accept issues with a cottage several centuries old, but not with modern appliances. The washer/dryer did not work; instructions even warn about the dryer and suggested we line dry our clothes. Of course it rained every day, so that wasn’t an option. The hot water system is inadequate for two people to bathe, so expect bird baths. We loved the location and the cottage is charming, but not appropriate for an extended stay.
After reading through the reviews describing the property we were expecting accommodation that was near perfect .......not so. Generally the equipment was modern and in working order however ..... 1) We were advised not to use the stove in the lounge (Inglenook fireplace) as it was emitting a lot of smoke 2) The oven was rather grubby on the inside and had to be cleaned before it was used 3) The sofas in the lounge and snug had biscuit remnants under the cushions together with other bits and pieces 4). Farm traffic constantly using the lane adjoining the property causing noise and a cert...more
