Sitting among several carefully renovated barns, the Dairyman’s Cottage is a beautiful Isle of Wight retreat.

The Dairyman’s Cottage has four bedrooms: three doubles en suite (can be turned into twins) and a twin room. There is also disabled access and a wet room. Downstairs there is an open plan kitchen, diner and sitting room. Outside there is a patio with BBQ, large garden and parking.

Guests can also opt to hire a hot tub for their stay, as well as lots of other extra activities available on the farm.

We loved our stay in Dairyman's Cottage. We had 4 generations of our family who were all really well catered for in the house. The house was clean, comfortable and well equiped. Our dogs appreciated the large enclosed garden. We especially appreciated the easy access to Tapnell Farm, their facilities and all the events that were going on. The Cow restaurant is excellent and we really enjoyed eating there. We couldn't have asked for a better family holiday.

We had loads of family fun. The children were aged 6,3 and 1 they all loved visiting the farm.
We all enjoyed an evening of cooking pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven.

Tapnell farm was a wonderful holiday for us. Chloe was wonderful at communicating and answered my many neurotic questions before booking as I was trying to find the "perfect holiday" for my parents.

We stayed in Dairyman's cottage and it was just perfect for 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs, all of whom really like their own space so that tells you how spacious it is! The garden is fully enclosed which is so rare to find, even in properties that advertise themselves as such. Our dogs really enjoyed sunning themselves in the garden and there's an abundance of beautiful walks right from your doorstep.

The onsite farm park is incredible to have so close, our 2 year old loved it and we could see it would have appeal for many years to come. The aqua park looked great and we look forward to trying it when the kids are a lot older! The little cafe inside had some great food options for milk allergy sufferers which is lovely to see.

The only thing I think could use improvement would be the menu for the onsite restaurant The Cow. As a collective, none of us really enjoy burgers and 3 of us have a milk allergy so there were limited options for us. We had drinks there and the staff were lovely but I feel they are missing out by not offering more selection or even a breakfast/lunch menu. There were days we would have been extremely happy to spend the whole day on the park and eat and enjoy the beautiful view from restaurant. The Waterfront & Off The Rails are fantastic dog & kid friendly restaurants.

Pre-arrival information was very informative and very much welcome, it saved us a lot of faff trying to find things.

We are already looking to see when we can come back! Thank you for a lovely holiday Chloe & team!

Had a brilliant time here as a family, celebrating a family members 60th birthday.
Loved the location and the cottage was set up so well with everything we needed.
Very impressed with contact up to and after our stay, super helpful getting everything in place.
Had a lovely meal at the Cow, best burger I’ve ever eaten.
Also enjoyed the use of the clubhouse.

Booked the cottage for my relatives as we were having a family wedding at East Afton Farmhouse which is part of Tapnell farm. The cottage was lovely, had everything you would need, views from the bedrooms were stunning and the Cow restaurant is a 2 minute walk away.
One suggestion is If you are walking back from the wedding venue take a torch as pathway goes across a field and is very dark, its Good for spotting fallen drunken relatives

A brilliant week at Tapnell Farm - the cottage was spacious, spotless and the perfect base for our holiday.

Having the farm park on our doorstep was brilliant and there was so much to do there not to mention the delicious restaurant and farm shop.

Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a holiday location that the kids will love but also tick so many boxes for adults too.

We are a family of 11 - ranging from 18 - 86 and lots of ages in between!! some of the party stayed in a Pod which was great fun. The Dairyman's Cottage was perfect for multi generation family, the grandparents had the downstairs bedroom so access to the bathroom and outside was easy. It was wonderful upstairs all having a bathroom each. We will definitely to book again as this setting is just wonderful and so peaceful. We booked in for Archery and Axe throwing which was great fun (with our competitive family!!) Everyone we met working here were so friendly and helpful, especially the blonde lady in the shop!! The weather was not kind to us but it didn't spoil our fun!! Thank you Chloe Tom and Team!!!
ps we left our keys accidently in the house and Chloe was so kind in dropping them off an the ferry terminal - over and above the call of duty!! many thanks Chloe!!

We loved our stay. being a large party and not a family - having a bathroom for each room was fantastic. the cottage worked really well for us. Shame that the hedge in the garden is so high - it would be nice to have the view - the garden is basically concrete and could be a nicer environment to sit in. The only other added point I would make is that paying a substantial cleaning fee - it would be nice if this covered stripping the beds which is always an added stress when departing. Please also ensure that you leave a supply of re-cycling bags.

Stayed with our parents and children in the Dairyman's Cottage, the cottage was perfect with our parents able to sleep downstairs with their own bathroom while we stayed upstairs with the children. Being able to access the farm park (after one paid visit) for the duration of you stay is a great benefit, also don't overlook the ferry discounts, they are huge.

We had a great time in the Isle of Wight. I haven’t been there since I was a child so it was great to go with my children. The Dairyman’s cottage was excellent. It was very spacious and had a lot of bedrooms. The garden is south facing so it was amazing to sit outside in the sun until the evening. We had a BBQ one night and had the fire pit on twice which the kids loved. It’s so peaceful there and we loved waking up to a picturesque view.
Excellent WiFi and I loved the personalised touch of the tablet in kitchen.
The cottage is in an excellent location as you are steps away from the adventure farm, shop and cow restaurant.
We had a problem with one of the showers and a leak but the owners sorted it out straight away which was great.
A few things I would like to suggest for next time is I think it would have been good to have access to some night light plug-ins upstairs for the kids, some sun loungers for the garden and maybe a nicer garden table and chairs rather than a bench.
I also scored a 4 for cleanliness because my daughter found some half eaten snacks in one of the drawers in her room from a previous stay and when we checked under the beds before departing we found a lot of bits and hair bobbles etc.
We did find the cottage expensive for one family. So if we came back I think we would need to share the cost and stay with another family. As couldn’t afford to hire it again.
Customer service was brilliant throughout. They emailed me straight back to answer all my questions and to arrange a gluten free hamper for me.
Can’t wait to visit the IOW again.

Firstly the team were so helpful with the booking, answering all many many questions, sorting out a hamper of tasty farm produce and helping me book archery at a discounted price.
The house was well appointed for us (family of 6) and the nice touches were the amazing farm shop, coffee shop and The Cow restaurant on-site. All the staff were super helpful and accommodating.
The venue is so peaceful and gives stunning walking trials for all abilities.

We had a lovely week staying at the cottage with our 2 year old son who loved wandering over to see the chickens and sheep whenever he wanted to. The cottage was perfect size for 5 of us and the beds were very comfy. The only negative thing to note is that there were a lot of ants around in the hall and the kitchen. But other than that a perfect place for a family trip.

We had a wonderful time and the cottage met all our needs. There were lots of 'extras' that we really appreciated e.g. large bath towels, milk, ice in the freezer etc.
The cottage was great value, the only reason for not scoring a 5 was that entrance to the farm park wasn't included in the price. We have stayed in a safari tent previously (several years ago) and could access the farm park for free as part of our package. I was expecting this again, and with 10 if us visiting this time it added a significant cost to our weekend which we hadn't ben expecting.

We have stayed at Dairyman’s before and other properties on Tapnell Farm and the experience has always been the same - excellent.

The ages of our group members ranged from 3 to 73 and we all love it. Facilities in the house and on Tapnell Farm are brilliant, the staff who helped sort the booking for the accommodation are always so helpful, location is perfect… I can’t speak highly enough.

We stayed at Dairymans cottage with our friends, 2 other families. The accommodation was perfect for us, great space for the kids to be able to play and amazing kitchen with everything you need.

My friends were arriving early so I asked if we could check in at 3pm and at 12pm I received a call saying it was all ready from 1pm for us. Amazing customer service and beautiful location.

We can't wait to organise our next trip and stay again.

From my 1st enquiry right through to arriving the Tapnell team were fantastic, very quick to respond, couldn’t have been more helpful. The cottage is beautiful, everything there you could possibly need, nice little extra touches too, milk in the fridge, shortbread in the cupboard!! We had children with us so the farm and play barn was amazing, they loved it! If you’re attending a wedding at Afton it’s the perfect place to stay. We would definitely stay here again, lovely!!

We were a group of radio Hams who have been visiting islands all around the UK mainland each year since 2016. The Isle of Wight was our largest island but The Dairyman’s Cottage at Tapnell farm made an ideal QTH (or base as we call it). Great accommodation and beautiful surroundings and lots of scope for exploring the isle. Brilliant!

Our stay was brief but very comfortable and relaxing. Everything that we could need was there including milk and biscuits! My only negative comment is that as a full time wheelchair user there were no grab rails ( vertical or horizontal) by the shower in the downstairs wet room. It was a scary moment transferring from my wheelchair to the shower stool and back.
Finding accommodation to suit my needs is a nightmare but apart from the lack of grab rails it was very accessible and I would wholeheartedly recommend the property.

The rooms look well presented with lovely touch of origami towels but the cleanliness could be improved (e.g. floors/carpets need more cleaning/mopping as all our socks got really dirty just walking around the house) and could do with mirrors in some of the bedrooms. Nice size kitchen and very pleased to find milk in the fridge on arrival and complimentary biscuits. Could do with more bin bags (food waste caddy liners and black bin bags) although staff were very responsive to our requests. However, great location with ample parking space and great to be able to BBQ on site. In general, would still recommend the cottage.

All in all another lovely stay. Comfortable accommodation in a glorious setting. Wonderful customer service, great Cow restaurant and adorable farm - the kids were in their element. Thank you.

There was no larder in the cottage with essentials (salt, pepper, oil, cling film, foil etc)
Some of the windows/doors didn’t lock properly

There’s not a lot more to add that the marks don’t cover. Perfect accommodation for our needs and a location that could not be better for a group of very average cyclists! We ate at the Cow restaurant on our first evening which was delicious and used the pizza oven in the field close by for the second.

We loved our stay at Tapnell Farm. Location was simply perfect for all IOW has to offer and the kids loved having the farm park on their doorstep. Dairyman’s Cottage was a lovely, comfortable retreat. It had ample space for two families of four with a large enclosed garden which the kids and our dog enjoyed. Kitchen was well equipped and the welcome goodies (milk/tea and coffee and biscuits) on arrival were lovely. The farm shop is a great addition and you could pick up all the essentials and lovely local produce.

Some minor points of feedback: The cottage is nicely furnished but could do with a bit of investment here and there e.g. windows, bbq/back garden area and the shower risers were a bit broken. For us the disabled access bedroom needs re-thinking. The wet room is unusable once you have showered (slippery and cold) and there’s no where to sit in the bedroom to do hair/makeup.

We’ll be back!

We stayed as a family of 6 for 7 days in the Dairyman's cottage. The good points were:
- kitchen supplies were very good eg coffee, tea, sugar, cleaning products, dish washer tablets, ice packs.
- very comfy beds and M&S bedding, spare towels
- plenty of space and seating. Adequate garden with BBQ
- Activities at Tapnell Farm suited all ages and the Shindig on Thursday night was a great addition.
(Activities not part of the Farm entry free include Aqua, football/golf and shooting range, so can make for an expensive day out).
- The Cow restaurant was good for a couple of meals
- Provisions in the site shop were good and the meats were especially nice.
- All staff were friendly and helpful.
As a resident we only paid once for entry and could use the farm facilities as much as we wanted. This was good value. We felt the same price paid for a half day session was not good value.
With regard to the cottage, there could be more mirrors particularly next to a plug!
Although an information book is provided we couldn’t find the small green bin outside for our food waste!
The area under the downstairs bed was very dusty and we only found the Now TV remote when we were leaving as it was under the sofa - a bit of a shame.
The washing machine wasn’t working on arrival. Although this was quickly replaced, they were aware of this when we arrived but hadn’t taken action to ensure we had a machine from day one.
In summary, a great place to stay with kids and in a good location for other attractions on the island.

Dairyman’s Cottage is perfectly situated within Tapnell Farm Park to access everything but still feel like you’re a world away from the hustle and bustle of life. The views from the upstairs bedrooms across the downs to the sea are stunning and such a treat to wake up to, come rain or shine. There is plenty of space to play inside and outside (the large front garden is great for family ball games) and there are some lovely walks from the doorstep.

The house is well-appointed with en-suite bedrooms, and the kitchen has lots of everything including children’s plastic plates, cups and crockery. Sadly the paintwork is looking a bit tired in places, but this is nothing some time and TLC won’t fix. We all slept really well on the super comfy beds; the blackout blinds really do work!

For us, the biggest plus was access to the farm park. We used this almost every day - our 6 year old loved the go karts and our 2 year old was really taken with the goats and the jumping pillow! It was great to have this available to us as/when we wanted to go in. Every member of the team that we met were so friendly and accommodating. Special thanks to Chloe for helping us settle in and resolving some minor issues super quickly.

We were so sad to leave but we will return… perhaps to a safari tent next time to try a bit of glamping!

An excellent weekend in a lovely cottage. The service was brilliant as there was no reception but they kept in touch with my mobile. The toilet had broken in one of the rooms but as soon as I reported it the handyman Dean was on the case. So pleased to have found Dairymans Cottage! We are a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 children aged 6 & 9 plus our dog. The cottage suited us perfectly, well equipped, comfy beds, powerful showers, beautiful views, and just a minutes walk to fabulous Tapnell Farm and Cow Restaurant. We loved everything about our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The house is just 10mins from our favourite IOW beach, Compton Bay so we enjoyed a fabulous evening beach walk after a yummy supper at Cow each night! We will certainly be returning!

The location was fantastic with panoramic views over west Wight. The cottage is clean, light and airy. We had problems with the washing machine as the filter was blocked and there was a delay in managing to obtain help in sorting this out. Once we had done so, it was fixed the following day. Thank you. We had the Cow's delicious food at the weekend, but did not realise that it was closed during the week! (We completely understand that it was not economically viable at the moment, but it would have been good to know before we tried to order a take away on Monday evening). Dairyman's Cottage is spacious, with lovely furniture and fittings and was lovely to stay in for our holiday. Thank you for this amazing opportunity.

Had a fabulous stay with our 2 young children and their grandparents at Tapnell Farm staying in the Dairyman's cottage.

The house has everything we needed for the children including stair gates, cot, highchair, bed guard and some toys.

The kitchen was well equipped for cooking dinners in. The welcome pack was great and the kitchen essentials of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, loo roll, hand soap all lasted the full week.

Lovely to all have our own bathrooms and the showers were all a decent power.

As for location, we couldn't fault it. Having the farm on site and access throughout our stay after paying for the first visit was great with little ones and they were happy to go back daily! We also went to the beach quite a bit which was just a short drive.

The honesty shop was handy but only seemed to have a full stock of eggs and breakfast items on changeover days so we would probably prebook the breakfast pack next time. You couldn't collect eggs from the hens at the moment which was a shame as we had been looking forward to this.

Dairymans Cottage is very well situated on Tapnell Farm, which is close to both Yarmouth ferry terminal and to Freshwater Bay - a beautiful beach with calm seas.
The cottage has good accommodation, with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms/shower rooms, all recently renovated and decorated.
Chloe and the staff are very helpful and responsive and the whole trip was well organised for us.
Two comments : — the central heating wasn’t working and it was chilly at night
— The loo downstairs had a poor flush and couldn’t easily be used

The Dairymans Cottage was an absolute delight, perfectly located on Tapnell Farm but far enough away from the activities that it was quiet and peaceful with a secure garden for the dog. Having 4 bathrooms was a luxury that worked really well. The weather wasn’t great for our stay but having access to the amazing activity park was a massive bonus and definitely helped keep the two little ones occupied when the beach was not an option.
The only negative was that the cottage could have been cleaner with more attention to out of sight areas eg under/around settees the shower traps hadn’t been cleaned so one of our party did it themselves as their shower wasn’t draining.
Will would definitely return to Tapnell and try one of their other types of accommodation.

We were so fortunate to book a last minute weekend break at Dairyman's Cottage on Isle of Wight for a much needed short break. We were delighted with our accommodation, being the perfect place for us to stay. The Cottage was light, airy and clean with lovely fixtures and furnishings. We walked in and immediately fell in love with the Cottage! The facilities were fantastic, we were able to book a hot tub as an extra and enjoyed take away meals from The Cow each evening. The Cow deserves a special mention as it was wonderful to walk up to the restaurant and bring back excellent burgers, fish and chips and steak meals, all cooked to our individual tastes and requirements, taking into account allergy needs. The app for ordering meals was excellent and much better than some of the more well known restaurants that we have previously ordered from. The staff were very helpful and responded quickly and promptly to any queries that we had, including a courtesy call the day before we travelled to make sure we were all okay with our accommodation. The visits to Tapnell Farm were lovely and we really enjoyed everything that this holiday had to offer.

Highly recommend this for a weekend away or holiday. Very peaceful location with everything you need to entertain the family on your door step. We were blown away by how amazing Tapnell Farm was for a day out for Children of all ages. Our Children are 11 and 8 and loved it. The food at The Cow was very good and as we stayed during the Corona pandemic all of the safety measures were well thought through. We loved our cottage, we have a dog who joined us and there were stair gates (for pets or children) and a great garden and even chicken wire under the gate so the dog couldn't get out. Plenty of parking. A surprising amount of essentials provided like kitchen roll, everything for washing up, milk, tea, biscuits, everything you needed and more. Children were though of with children plates ad cups, toys, DVD's, baby things like a cot and highchair if you needed it. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, really everything it was great and we will return.
Isle of Wight was a perfect mix of countryside and close to the many beaches and everywhere we ate out was spot on and we have high standards with food. Book a stay you won't be disappointed.

Generally all good, few things to consider.
Need better lighting to hot tub, member of party tripped up because of poor lighting. Heating took a while to get right some guidance would have been useful. Ditto tv control. Toilet roll holders have been put on upside down.
Loved lots bedrooms good, living area little cramped (wet weekend with 3 small children and big dog. Kids loved being close to farm. All workers very sweet. Thankyou x

We stayed at Tapnell Farm for a long weekend. 7 of us, three generations, had the most incredible time. The amenities, even off peak, were brilliant, the kids loved playing on site and together we took trips off the site to enjoy everything the island offers.

Dairyman's Cottage was the perfect size for 4 generations of the same family.
The cottage was chosen because of the downstairs bedroom with adjoining wet room.

Each bedroom had its own bathroom/toilet; 3 of them en-suite and the forth so close it might as well have been en-suite.

My Mother-in-law was taken aback because the wet room didn't have any blinds on the windows.
She improvised by hanging black rubbish sacks over the window.

The Hot Tub was a great success.

The Play barn area was ideal for the 5 year old, who had a whale of a time.

Overall a really good time was had by everyone.

On the down side:

The main oven did not work on arrival but did start to work over the following days.
A sliding shelf in the main oven was broken and was unusable.
Fortunately there was a smaller fan oven as part of the range.

There were no user manuals for the Oven, Washing Machine or Microwave.
Staff offered to download and print them for me, so full marks to them.
It was just as easy to download them myself.

I fixed the broken pedal bin in the kitchen.
There was a washing line but without appropriate fixings so we improvised.

I was asked if the Wi-Fi worked ok and it did downstairs.
I was advised that it should work upstairs as well but it didn't.

I have stayed here twice now with friends for a walking weekend and we love it. We said it was like coming home this time. The rooms are all lovely and the beds comfy. There is everything you need in the kitchen with plenty of coffee and tea and great local milk.
We’ll definitely be back in October with 26 friends in the Manor as well as cottages and pods. It’s been a real find.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tapnell Farm. The Dairyman's cottage was spacious and comfortable. The dogs enjoyed their walks around the farm and running free in the garden. We booked the Cottage as part of the accommodation we had organised for our wedding guests. So while we did not stay in the house ourselves we got to have a good look around and ask our guests for feedback.

All the guests have shared how happy they were with the house. All bedrooms are of a good size and it is handy that the room are either en suite or have a bathroom next door.

The views from the top bedrooms are absolutely beautiful. If you are staying in the bottom bedroom you have the ease of the doors leading to the garden. Very handy if you are multiple guests straying in one house!

There is not much more than we can say about a property that we did not spend much time in.

Dairymans cottage is big and spacious and the hot tub is a nice added extra. It comes with most amenities but a few things missing such as bin liners etc which we didn’t realise we had to bring ourselves but nothing major. Everything else is catered for. The staff are really friendly and there is so much to do and see on tapnell farm, inside the house there are lots of brochures etc to flick through that recommend places to do things or eat and drink.
The negatives: the pressure of the shower in the wet room downstairs is next to none existent, one of the shower heads upstairs was broken and the outside hose next to the hot tub does not have a sign on it to say what it is for or that it is very very hot water and my brother in law burnt his head and self on it. He was trying to cool off.
But, putting that aside we would definitely stay again, the house location and the grounds are just breathtaking.

Since August 1939 I have been spending holidays on West Wight; we are now into the 5th generation of WEST Vectis appreciation. Holiday accommodation has been too lengthy a list for me to recall; this was my first time at Tapnell and included 2 daughters, a son in law and 2 grandchildren in their early teens as well as myself. We therefore occupied the Dairyman's Cottage for 3 nights .It was well appointed and like home from home. The first evening after travelling down from the London area we were pleased to eat in the Cow., which suited our various tastes. It was interesting to talk with Tom and Chloe and to learn that they ,and many employees are local in an area where opportunities may be few. En route home on the ferry I talked with a couple for whom this was their first visit; they had driven round the Island and were looking for somewhere for a later family. I recommended West Wight which had most appealed to them. In particular I mentioned Tapnell..
Over the years I have made friends on the Island and was delighted to learn the grand daughter of one will be performing as the Easter Bunny!

A beautiful setting! Hot tub outside, in view of the tapnell farm park (which is in my opinion the best place to parent ever!! Amazing coffee and cafe and so much to do for the little ones!!) ‘the cow’ resturant is just near the cottage and has the great food and bar! It’s the perfect place to take the family with so much to do plus amazing beach’s and walks all within a few minutes drive!! Great place to stay to explore the island!!We didn’t want to leave!!!

4 of us stayed in Dairymans Cottage for one night mid week. We came to recce a walking weekend in October in the area for our village walking group.
We had a wonderful couple of very successful days. This was mainly due to finding Tapnell Farm and their incredibly helpful team. Chloe stopped whatever she was doing to show us round different properties for the October weekend. Amanda gave great advice on local walks. We have booked the Manor, a Pod, and Stockbridge Cottage for our return in October. We also loved The Cow restaurant.

We booked the Dairyman's Cottage together with the Manor and other eco lodges to house family and friends for a birthday party. The guests loved the cottage with its hot tub and stunning views. It was well appointed and had everything they needed for the weekend. It was close by but gave enough space for privacy and central to the party activities. There was a no fuss just help yourself attitude which my guests loved - including eggs from the chicken coop and the honesty shop.

Seven of us (aged nine - 81) spent a wonderful week at the Dairyman's Cottage during February Half Term. The Farm Park was amazing - the animals there kept us all entertained (loved the wallabies!). We would go to the Park when the doors opened for family Go Kart racing! We had two amazing dinners in The Cow restaurant.

The cottage suited us as a family, with Nana using the ground floor bedroom with the ensuite wet room. We sat out in the hot tub star gazing a few times and watched some incredible sunsets from the upstairs bedrooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed (apart from a trivet!). The Honesty Shed was well stocked and was a brilliant idea.

We loved walking to see the chickens in the morning and collecting our eggs for breakfast! I'd love to come back with our son to stay in one of the log cabins or safari tents in the summer. The whole Farm Park, restaurant and accommodation set up was just perfect.

We had a fabulous weekend in the Dairyman’s cottage, it is a lovely cottage with plenty of space for everyone to spread out including the dog. The views from the garden and upstairs windows are incredible and we saw some beautiful sunrise and sunsets.
The cottage had everything we needed, including the hottub outside which I hadn’t known about on booking!
We spent time walking around the farm, visiting the chickens and playing at the farm with the kids.
Chloe and the team clearly do a fantastic job, even finding a last minute babysitter for us so we could have dinner at the Cow.
We loved every minute of our stay!

We arrived for a birthday weekend with the family ages ranged from 4 - 65!
We had text up dates before our arrival which was a lovely added personal touch.
We immediately felt at home on arrival.
We had a day round the farm the next day and had a excellent meal in The Cow on Saturday evening.
The accommodation was clean and tidy and there was lots of space so we didn’t trip over ourselves.

The Dairyman's cottage is fantastic, and it gets better and better. The house is a real home from home, it is spotless and really well equipped. We use the facilities quite a lot, enjoying the farm park, the CowCo and attending the Shindig, so the location is superb.

We missed the old style nordic hot-tub, it has been changed for a modern spa style hot-tub, but that's just a personal preference.

Having 4 large double rooms, with either an en-suite or bathroom for each is a real luxury when you're sharing with friends, and the whole property is decorated beautifully and is well equipped and maintained.

The hospitality is second to none - texts to welcome guests, texts to advise when the property is ready and offer of support throughout the stay.

I'm struggling to think of any negatives, so I don't feel inclined to add them for the sake of it.

The property was tastefully decorated and quite spacious for 5 people although the sofas and blankets were a bit grubby. We had paid extra towards the cost of a portable hot tub in the back garden as the one out the front was overlooked by The Cow restaurant and other properties. We had a problem with hot water coming out of the cold taps which was known about by the staff but unfortunately wasn’t rectified during our stay. We were able to visit Tapnell Farm Park most days after paying a one off entry fee and the gokarts were a big hit. Overall an enjoyable stay with a few minor niggles.

The booking process was quick, easy & efficient. I received texts from Tapnell Farm on our arrival day with updates of when our Cottage would be ready (& was actually available before the official check-in time). The Cottage was very clean, spacious & fitted with most mod cons, incl a Nesspresso machine. The hot tub was wonderful for us girls to sit in, whilst the menfolk watched England play in the World Cup. ‘The Cow’ resturant is less than 5min walk away & we had a superb lunch before moving in. Honesty shed was well stocked with basics & if you wanted BBQ stuff eg meat, bread, wood, charcoal etc. Top tips: (1) bring your own toiletries eg shower gel & shampoo, as these were not in the bathrooms (2) book your ferry crossing through Tapnell Farm, as we got a MASSIVE discount for this. Definitely would recommend & will come back (but don’t book the week we want next year!)

We had a lovely time at Dairyman's Cottage on Tapnell Farm - it was plenty big enough for 2 families of 4 to share. Chloe could not have been more helpful throughout, and the text message service in the 24 hour run up to arrival is a great idea. When we arrived there was a leak above the front door but it was fixed within half and hour :-)

The location was fantastic, you did not feel overlooked at all, it was very peaceful. I would say that literally everything you might need is provided or can be found in the honesty shed - so it is worth checking before packing random stuff.

The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space, towels and bedding. It was good that we good close the gates at the top of the driveway and secure the children!

The only thing that would have improved our stay is if Tapnell Park had been open to residents in the morning / evening. The times that we really wanted to use the facilities were between 8-10am and 5-7pm to entertain small children while we prepare for the day / evening. We didn't use the park nearly as much as we would have liked as we had things planned during the day. Even just having access to the outside play area and a coffee shop would have made things a lot easier.

Overall a great holiday though.

We came as a family of 8, including one dog and the cottage was spacious, really tidy and in a fantastic location.

You couldn’t ask for better views in the morning and the grounds of the house are great.

We were fortunate with the weather so we could enjoy bbqs at night on the patio, which was lovely. The bench outside was slight damaged we noticed and replaced first thing the following morning - great service!

The food at The Cow was really good- a must if staying here!

Thank for having us, we will definitely be back to explore the rest of the island!

A lovely spot for family or group of friends to enjoy the wilder end of the IOW. Great views, lots of running around space on the farm and heaps more activities to come shortly. A great restaurant just over the road and good beaches and village pubs and shops just 10 minutes away. The cottage at Tapnell farm is large and comfortable for a family stay. the farm itself is in a beautiful surrounding and very close to some key attractions.

Stayed in Dairyman's cottage for my partner's 30th birthday with 6 others, so 8 in total. The cottage sleeps 8 and there was more than enough room for everyone- it never once felt crowded. Beautifully decorated with excellent facilities- a bathroom per bedroom was especially nice! Overall a great stay and would definitely come back again- have recommended to many people already! Loved our weekend and the fact that you get until Monday morning means that even if you are leaving on Sunday you do not need to rush out in the morning.

From booking to the end of our stay was wonderful.
When booking all my queries where answered on the same day by Chloe. I felt I knew her personally she was so helpful and friendly.
We arrived a little early and they let us go straight into the house, likewise at the end of our stay they were very flexible with the time we had to vacate the property.
We stayed in the Dairymans Cottage which was very comfortable and very geared up for young children, even as far as stair gates. We went with a 3 year old, a 21mth old and a 9mth old and all settled in well and were completely save in the house and outside playing.
We all loved the play barn and the bouncy pillow, which we had trouble getting the children off it. It was so nice to have that area for the children, it made so much difference to keep them amused.
I would thoroughly recommend Tapnell farm for a holiday stay. We will certainly be going back many times.
Thank you to all at Tapnell farm for making our stay so enjoyable.

As the above indicates, we had excellent weather and Tapnell was ideal for visiting all that Wight offers. Accommodation was spacious and well-furnished. the arrangements for people with disabilities ( my father-in-law is paraplegic) are good including a proper wet-room. We loved the fact that there were three other bathrooms; if 4 couples are staying, each gets their own loo! The farm-shop and café (open every day-time) were useful, though be aware that they only provide evening meals on Friday and Saturday. There's lots to do on the farm, especially for children, and we enjoyed walking the Tapnell Trail, most of which is along the coastal path overlooking the farm; we tired ourselves out by doing an extra loop to Tennyson's monument and back - a 10 mile walk all in all. The last section takes you through the farm's cornfield plantation, although the path becomes instinct just before the end. A great stay, overall - we will return!

Very nice people, excellent position. It would be nice to find some basic necessity items, like or mini shower gels, shampoos.. In the kitchen maybe a little supply of sugar cubes , tea bags, long term milk in the fridge or even some mini jams jars, as one gets to settle down. We had to ask for a hairdryer .Very good supply of bath towels but scarcity of kitchen ones. A supply of paper towels or paper napkins would have helped.

Overall a very pleasant experience.

A lot of spiders, garden not as expected, kitchen not fully equiped to be able to cook for 6 persons, downstairs there was a strange smell.

Thanks for a great stay.
Enjoyed the property, the viewsand the wood burning hot tub.
The farm shop and restaurant were an added bonus. Also the jumping pillow was super fun.

Lovely bright, clean house in peaceful setting but close to amenities. Perfect open plan reception areas - great for group of friends who just get together once a year. Only five of us this year - would have been tight on lounge space if there were eight. Loved the hot tub though not sure front garden is best spot. Not practical if you're out & about a lot - need someone at home to keep the fire going.

We were a large party staying in Dairyman's Cottage cottage for a family wedding, and it accommodated us all very comfortably. However, we could have done with more storage for hanging clothes and storing food, and we lacked hot water for showers - despite reading the instructions! Luckily we were able to use the electric shower in the downstairs bathroom. It would have been nice if the grass could have been cut at the back outside the French windows for the children to play on. The hot tub worked well evidently, and was much enjoyed by some of the party!

We all really enjoyed our stay on the farm, and thought the cottage was a great place to be for the wedding weekend - airy, spacious and light, and well equipped for self catering.

We were welcomed with some food items and wine which was a lovely touch. Fantastic location and the grandchildren enjoyed exploring the farm and seeing the lambs and chickens. We used the hot tub which was a bonus.

Just returned from 4 nights at the dairymans cottage. Lovely comfortable, warm and well equipped cottage and Tom and Kimmi were very welcoming and we loved being able to see the working dairy farm and the baby lambs and collecting eggs. A great location close to freshwater but also very peaceful. We'll be back!

We stayed in Tapnell Manor and I rented the Dairyman Cottage as additional accommodation for friends.
Four couples stayed in the cottage and were delighted that each couple had their own bathroom and although they did not use the kitchen, except for making drinks, they were impressed with the standard of the appliances and also commented on the high standard of the fittings & furnishings in the house. Great place to stay.

We stayed with our son,daughter-in-law and lovely granddaughter. We had plenty of space and it was great walking to see the animals. We collected the eggs and had them for breakfast-lovely.
It was a great location and a lovely part of the island

The only thing missing was mirrors in some of the bedrooms, difficult to dry your hair.

We all had a very relaxing week and would love to come back
