This was a fantastic residential. The site is set in a perfect location surrounded by beautiful countryside but within reach of lots of great places for days out including the local beaches. All of the staff were incredibly kind and thoughtful. I can't recommend this residential highly enough.
Great house for our group and such a bonus to be next to Tapnell farm with all the facilities and such a beautiful location- we will definitely Italy be back!
Perfect location , really cosy chalet with everything you need , super comfy beds and really clean inside Lovely eco products and added bonus of easy recycling facilities close by even food waste Staff at the shop were so friendly and helpful The cow was also excellent Nothing negative to say but would have liked instructions for the tv found it quite confusing but that’s more user error Highly recommend Stunning views too Would def love to come back again
We got married at East Afton on 11th July and had the most beautiful day. Having the extra time to stay made everything feel so much calmer and meant we could truly relax and enjoy every moment. I honestly could not fault the coordinators. Chloe and Mel were fantastic with so much of the organising beforehand, and Lisa, our on the day coordinator, went above and beyond to make sure we were okay and that our day was as magical as it could possibly be. Everyone made us feel so looked after, and the whole experience was everything we could have hoped for. I would highly recommend East ...more
This is our second stay at the Wendy House- this time we brought grandparents who were very impressed. The views are beautiful and the accommodation is lovely- well equipped and comfortable. Our children always adore visiting Tapnell Farm and had endless fun on the pedal go carts, slides and guinea pig fishing!
We had a wonderfull stay! Everyone was very friendly, children loved the farm, the food in the restaurant is amazing and the surroundings just wawwww. Thank you to the whole team.
We had a short 2 night stay, myself and 3 teenage boys. The location is excellent, short journey from Yarmouth Ferry, we drove, but you can also get a bus directly to the camp. The Container was perfect, 4 sets of bunk beds, plenty of space, also had electricity points which was a bonus for the boys to charge their phones. The toilet and shower block 30 seconds from the container, very spacious and very clean, even impressed with the soft toilet roll...... Kitchen area with a kettle, small hobs, microwaves and a fridge with your own labelled shelf, everything you needed was covered. We ha...more
Our party of 18 stayed at East Afton over Christmas and the New Year. The kids took full advantage of the free entry to Tapnnall Farm, toddlers were ferried by car but the older ones and adults enjoyed the short walk across the fields. The accommodation was perfect for us with enough space to seek a spell of peace and quiet if you need a spell away from the full on Christmas excitement. We took a slow cooker and large pans as we were unsure whether weed need extra for cooking a full Christmas meal for so many, but it was unnecessary as the kitchen had everything we needed especially wi...more
We loved that we could put the children to bed and still be close by to relax as a group of friends (4 adults, 2 children- 2 families) we stayed for one night. Would have happily stayed for more with extra prep - it’s proper camping without needing to put up a tent! They provide bottom sheets but no bedding whatsoever- bring everything included a fitted sheet, making the beds up high was arse ache with the waterproof mattress and a sheet. There was no grip! It would be nice to have some lower fairy lights for the below bunks because we had no light after the children went to bed and ended ...more
My husband and I are from Devon and we really loved how rural the venue is. The location is close to amenities, the beach and perfect for safely walking back to sleep after a long day at a wedding. The separate bathroom stable setup is well equipped and nicely kept. The piglet hut itself is so cozy and beautiful for breakfast outside on the decking. We had a wonderful weekend, thank you so much!
What an absolute gem of a location and accommodation. Just perfect in every way. The dome is so well Equipped, clean, comfortable and cosy. The highlight was the view across the Solent. Plus it’s a perfect dark sky location and we spent several nights sat by the fire pit staring at the Milky Way! We had our 2 girls with us aged 7 and 9. The early access to the farm and play barn was a treat every morning, We would definitely return.
We had a gorgeous 3 night stay at tapnell farm in the dome meadow with our 3 kids (6,4,9months) the set up of the dome was perfect for us. The kitchen and shower room were much bigger than we expected and had everything we needed. We only cooked once during our stay and used the electric ninja outside. We had the hot tub too which was so lovely in the evening after a day exploring. The farm itself it’s great the kids loved the activities and all the animals. We also had dinner at The Cow which I would really recommend. My only negatives was the dome first quite run down. When we arrived ...more
Kids loved it - 4yo paradise. Lovely sunsets, all the home comforts, everything you need is on your doorstep. Will be back. Tiniest of criticisms was quality of the mattresses - but that could just be personal preference.
As a primary school from London, we recently visited and had an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The children thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the trip and were engaged, excited, and smiling throughout. The accommodation was excellent, comfortable, and well-suited to our group's needs. The food was also outstanding, with plenty of choice and meals that the children really enjoyed. What truly made the visit special was the incredible staff. They were friendly, professional, supportive, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a memorable stay. Their enthusia...more
We have just really enjoyed a weekend stay in a modulog and would thoroughly recommend the location, accommodation, and facilities. My only regret is that we did not have long enough to make full use of the facilities at the modulog (bbq, hot tub etc). A beautiful and peaceful location. Thank you Tapnell Farm.
An amazing experience every time. The cabin was incredibly spacious and yet cozy - which is a unique and special combination. The cabin was exceptionally clean and fully equipped with everything you may need. It’s a beautiful spot to watch sunrises and campfires are always a fun thing to do. The staff were incredible - kind, attentive, friendly, helpful. We love going to farm park during the day… Hours of fun to be had there! It’s a wonderful holiday for the entire family and we highly recommend to all our friends and families. We will be back! Thank you Team Tapnell!
Tapnell Farm is a great place to stay, great sunsets in the evening. We stayed in one of the Domes but picked the wrong week as the temperature inside the Dome was not the place to be, we had 3 fans provided which helped at night but was just to hot. We cooked outside on the BBQ provided which was good and the firepit was great (coal firelighters and logs provided by Tapnell). Double bed was ok but had a wooden ledge around the bed so not that easy to get in or out. Kitchen fully kitted out with all the essentials a Freezer in the fridge would have be a plus! Bathroom nice and big with ...more
We’ve been coming to Tom’s Eco Lodge since the children were 7, and after a year break last year was special bring the 16 year olds back to the same tent…with girlfriends! We’ve stayed in the Modulogs and Lofge but Safari Tent 1 is our favourite and has so many happy memories.
Tapnell farm staff has been incredibly helpful. Any questions has been answered promptly via email/phone. All information, tickets and directions has been up to date. They even booked our red funnel ferry at a massively discounted price. We attended our friends daughters wedding. The venue was stunning. The lady in charge for the day/night was incredible!!! She was so helpful, no trouble too big. She was everywhere doing everything at the same time. Well done !! (I did mention to her what a great job she was doing but forgot to get her name) The piglet was soooooo cute. The be...more
Overall very happy with the lodge. The view was amazing and was very peaceful. It was very over priced for what you got and the only criticism for the site was the distance from where the car is parked to where you stay was far too big, especially during heavy rain.
We were so pleased to have chosen Tapnell Manor for an unforgetable weekend with friends. Everyone commented on how comfortable the bedrooms were and that the house provided a number of spaces to relax and areas spacious enough to enjoy time all together. The house was very well equipped and had everything we required to cater for all our needs. Communication prior to and after our stay has been exceptional. The activities at Tapnell Farm were easy to book, very accommodating and organised. They were enjoyed by all. We all agreed that this is somewhere we would love to visit again. Thank yo...more
The cabin was everything we could have hoped for. Fully equipped, comfortable with a rustic yet modern feel to it. The setting was beautiful and it was perfect for enjoying the warm summer evenings on the deck. Tapnell farm provided everything we needed for our group. We will definitely return.
We have stayed on many occasions at this great place with stunning views. We have always stayed in the eco lodges and they have always been spotless. On this occasion there were some cobwebs and dust around the bedroom window which was very unusual. Apart from that it was outstanding. The addition of the Ninjas is great.
Great location for attending a wedding at Afton; just along the road. Didn’t get to use Tapnell facilities this time round as full on wedding mode. Cottage was a good size and accommodated our group of 7 adults well. Inferior quality to another Tapnell cottage we stayed at last year in terms of location and overall look. Near to very fast moving road, a walk uphill to Tapnell facilities on a used road with no pavement. Cottage would benefit from some care and attention. Garden area lovely, rooms all large and bright. Kitchen reasonably functional and equipped. Bedrooms good sizes. Bookin...more
The farm and pods are in a lovely location. The pods are situated in a quiet area, clean and have all the equipment you could need. The sleeping area is a little tight, but the beds are comfortable. We were only two of us, but the pod is advertised as sleeping 2 (+2 on the sofa bed), which I definitely wouldn’t recommend. In my opinion, there is really only enough space for two people.
The location was amazing and a perfect place to star gaze. The Dome was well equipped and had great cooking facilities. The farm activities were excellent and there was something for the whole family, the Aqua park was a particular favourite. It was easy to go for a beautiful country walks or runs, and a short drive to other parts of the island. The Cow restaurant was family friendly and with a great atmosphere.
I’d definitely recommend the site as a whole, particularly for families. The toilets and showers were very clean (minus a few cobwebs!) The containers are great value for money, particularly if you are a group of 8. The style of mattress is a little bit youth hostel/uni halls and the sheets provided were useless so I’d recommend bringing your own single sheets. The container wasn’t as clean as I’d have liked with cobwebs and a bit of dust plus we were left with someone else’s knickers in the storage units but it was overall clean enough. We’d definitely go back although I think we’d take...more
We arrived that morning and were only given notice at 1pm that our accommodation was ready but we were not longer able to use any of the cooking facilities. Very much appreciate the local fire – but with supervision the pizza oven could have safely been used along with moving the BBQs to a communal area again under supervision between certain times. We were staying with a 2-year old and using the wood burning stove in the main tent (in 28 degrees) was not safe. I felt I had to argue with customer services to gain access to one of the unused cabins so we had an oven to use. It just felt like it...more
The Piglets were lovely, and had been built/renovated well, and having the kettle/fridge was handy. The bathrooms (despite being a short walk) were huge and very clean/well provisioned. Our hair dryer did not work unfortunately, but otherwise everything was great. We were well positioned to access the main house for the wedding.

The children thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the trip and were engaged, excited, and smiling throughout. The accommodation was excellent, comfortable, and well-suited to our group's needs. The cottage was lovely - very clean and had everything we could possibly need. The Cow restaurant was 2 minutes walk away and served great food. Lovely scenic location but only minutes drive from amenities. Booking was easy - staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend.
We booked the modulog as a family to stay and celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. He wanted something chilled and peaceful and thats exactly what we got. It was cosy, clean and just what we needed. It was so lovely to sit in the outdoor tub and watch the world and wildlife! Had all we needed and more touches like the Ninja BBQ and outdoor fire pit, . Was warm (no need to use the log burner). Would recommend for relax/ reset time.
We really loved the little lodge — the location was ideal with everything close by, and the view over the countryside was beautiful and so peaceful. Both beds were comfortable to sleep in too which is an absolute bonus as I usually struggle with this when we go away! Having the farm included was a lovely bonus as well, was great with our baby. The staff were also really nice and friendly. The only area we felt really needs attention is the cleanliness of the property. The floor was quite dirty — my socks turned black very quickly, and we ended up needing to wear our flip‑flops indoors just...more
We love Tapnell Farm- such a good family vacation spot. Great budget accommodation and the cow restaurant is great too with activities on site.
We had a wonderful weekend at Tapnell farm as a family and really loved the Slowmo addition this year, ensuring parents got to relax too! See you next year!
Container is great, was so glad of the sturdy frame when it was rainy and windy all night. Was ready a bit early, found the pizza oven by safari tents and made pizza which the kids loved, farm is great and not too busy so lots of go karts, trampolines, bouncy pillow. Cafe nice but quite expensive, cappuccino £4, yummy cakes. Tesco 3 miles away in freshwater is handy for a meal deal etc. The cow was good but again quite expensive, nice atmosphere though and interesting layout, staff helpful. Nice views from farm good for parents while watching kids play. Camp tapnell loos and showers really cle...more
We’ve just come back from our second stay in a cabin at Tapnell Farm this year. Such good value and easy accommodation for a few days away. Both times we’ve stayed have been for 4 nights. This time there was 1 adult 2 children, 13 & 9. We missed bringing our dog as she loved it before but will return with her. The kitchens are well equipped with kettle, toaster, air fryer, hob, microwave. Tapnell provide washing up liquid, cloths and sponges along with some tea towels. I was a bit surprised to see people keep opening new ones, personally we took one of each sponge and cloth and kept it in ...more
We had a lovely 5 days at Poachers Perch at Tapnell Farm. Everything you need for your holiday is provided, such as towels, dishwasher tablets, plates, cups, cutlery etc. There is a pretty outdoor area with a wonderful view where you can sit with a drink and bathe in the sunshine. Tapnell Farm itself is perfect for families and offers an aqua park, visits with the animals, an on-site restaurant, gift shop, club house with games, a coffee shop and sauna for the adults. It is worth noting Poachers Perch is situated on the outer edges of the farm and is near to a fairly busy road, however it does...more
We adored staying at The Snug! It was the perfect accommodation for myself, my husband and our small dog. Beautifully furnished and comfortable whilst maintaining a relaxing back-to-nature vibe. It has great facilities with a well kitted out kitchen and strong shower. Lovely walk across the fields to The Cow restaurant for dinner. Great location as a base to explore the island.
Excellent facilities (kitchen/bathrooms). We had an issue with a smelly rug which was dealt with promptly. Otherwise very clean. Only feedback is that the website/instructions makes it sound like there’s a farm shop when there isn’t. A shop would have been really useful. It talks about buying pizza from farm shop and using pizza oven but no sign of either. Otherwise it was good value and would recommend.
Positives of the containers: -Good storage -Good temperature -Great lighting -Shared fridge and cooking area -Stunning scenery Main negative: -Unfortunately the mattresses were really quite uncomfortable. My husband moved all the upper mattresses to the lower bunks, but it was really difficult to get a good night's sleep and I developed neck and back ache as did my husband and daughter. My son's mattress had a split in the side. For this reason only I would be reluctant to stay again. We spoke to the staff who were lovely and faultless and who said they would move mattresses from the...more
We had a brilliant stay and really appreciate the changes you've made. The food was excellent and really helped with the children's energy levels. The activities were spot on where there was something for everyone. Thanks so much to all staff who all worked really hard to make it a great week.
Second time visiting this place. Such a lovely spot and so fun for the children. Facilities excellent. Only trouble was some people arrive not expecting camp site and assume hotel facilities! Showers and toilets fantastic. Staff prompt if any concerns. Very practical accommodation layout. Suggest a pump dispenser for washing up liquid as people use too much and it's gone within a day. Thank you
Everything you possibly need is contained within a family fun packed area. Kids ask to repeat this trip every year!
We found our container with ease, it was as described and a fun alternative to your usual camping with a tent. Facilities were great and the restaurant was absolutely fantastic, we only had a couple of things that let it down for us which were, when we sat at the back of our container the designated free space to relax and watch the eclipse we had to dodge dog poo which wasn’t pleasant. The other was our allocated spot in the fridge was missing. The shelf wasn’t there so we couldn’t put any food or drink items in the fridge unfortunately but we were only staying a night so managed ok. A fan is...more
Booking in prosess was great , no faffing about just wait for a text and turn up. Container ships are a great idea, we loved the location and the view , with the football pitch and campfire aria even though sadly we were not able to use this due to dry weather. The shaired facilities were clean and looked great . On the negative side , on booking i read there was a farm shop for supplies but that no longer is a thing , it was a shame to have to pop to tesco for milk. The farm eggs mentioned online arnt often available eather so that was somthing i should not have counted on , it would have b...more
We only stayed one night in the IOW but we wished we’d stayed longer at Tapnell. Rabbits run was clean and compact and had everything we needed. The real star of the show are the facilities at Tapnell! We did the aqua splash twice, Foot golf and Pickleball, table tennis, pool and all the outdoor games. The food and service at The Cow was great, the burgers really were something else! The location is stunning and we will be recommending it to our friends. Thanks for a great stay!
A fabulous stay with breathtaking views! The piglet had all I needed for a fabulous few nights sleep. The separate bathroom was really spacious and very clean. Thank you for a wonderful experience
Tapnell farm is brilliant especially for families, and the cow restaurant is excellent. In terms of location, you couldn’t get much better. East Chalet itself is fine - I’ve stayed in better places, but also stayed in worse. As others have said, the lodge is very tired in places, and the rooms are deceptively small. Also a shame that some of the basics you’d expect when staying away weren’t provided. Beds are all small singles - 3 of the 6 mattresses were comfortable enough, the other 3 not so much
