Impressive property with huge garden and shared access to Poachers perch if needed, ideal for our family group of 14. Beautifully clean, bright spacious house with 4 large well fitted bedrooms and comfy beds. Fantastic spacious well equipped kitchen, with large family dining area and 2 large tables. 2 bright comfortable sitting rooms, one with wood burner for families to gather and relax in the evenings.
Tapnell farm park had plenty of entertainments indoor and outdoor for children whatever the weather and animal feeding was extremely popular.
Amazon world was very interesting as was the garlic farm. We needed longer on the beautiful IOW!

The house is lovely and spacious, and the garden is fantastic. The property was well stocked with the necessities and the customer service was brilliant. Free fresh eggs every day were a lovely bonus! It was great to be able to stay on the farm park and pop in and out daily. Also fab to be so close to Compton Bay for fossil hunting.

A well equipped property with an excellent kitchen and large and small sitting rooms so lots of space for all the family. The American fridge was a great success with cold water and ice. Enclosed garden for children and dogs was ideal.
Very close to beaches and places of interest. Sofas were a bit lumpy but beds were comfortable.

We stayed in Poachers Lodge as we were attending a wedding at East Afton. It was a perfect location for both the wedding and venturing out to do some sight seeing and a visit to the beach. The Lodge is lovely and spacious and the bedrooms were spotless. The kitchen is fantastic with everything you need from eating in to a sunny BBQ. Even has a piano where my daughter couldn’t wait to get her fingers in and play. Overall this is a beautiful place to stay and would highly recommend.

Beautiful cottage - very clean, lovely decor, comfortable beds and very well kitted out with everything you could need. Some lovely touches - milk, biscuits, eggs can be collected from the farm. Plenty of space for sitting both indoor and outdoor and a great kitchen for entertaining. Communication was really good and, as there wasn’t anyone coming in straight after us, we were able to have a slightly later check out time which was greatly appreciated. We really enjoyed our visit. We stayed in Poachers Lodge for 5 days and had a lovely time. The house is big and spacious and spotlessly clean. The communication with the hosts were fantastic, and any small issues we had were immediately dealt with. Came to the island for our grandson’s wedding, which was held at East Afton farm, so staying at Tapnell was very convenient. Accommodation at Poachers Lodge was first class. The staff are excellent, make you feel so welcome, and nothing is a problem.

The garden is great for dogs. Spacious interior. A nice patio for barbeques. By a major road but not much traffic and only noticeable at 8am for a period. The staff are always helpful.

We were a group of 11 in Poachers Lodge and Pochers Perch and found them to be stylish, spacious, and comfortable. Large patio with sun and shade. Very large kitchen dinner which was well equipeed. Large Lounge and seperate snug both with TV's. 4 spaciious double bedrooms. The location is great for the islands beaches arround the south and west. 3 beach resorts within 10m mins drive.

Overall for one night our stay was nice. The house had plenty of space and the kitchen is nice but some of the furniture (mostly downstairs) is old and tired. The toilet upstairs was not cleaned properly and there was dried urine down the back and sides of it.

We had an absolutely fabulous family break here! It is clean, spacious and has everything you could possibly need! The garden is enclosed (apart from a small hole in one fence) so great for the dogs. There are 3 different tables to eat around, giving plenty of options. The views are stunning and work a short walk to the farm, farm shop and cow restaurant, the location is perfect. The customer service from start to finish was spot on. We would love to return! Thank you for a lovely time!

My guest and I booked in for 2 nights at Poachers Lodge and we were blown away by the property as soon as we arrived. The bedrooms/ lounges/ kitchen had a lovely home feel and were very spacious. Bathrooms had excellent showers and cleanliness. The outside patio/garden was definitely our favourite area as the sun was shining and we lounged on the outside sofa for most of the day! We were also thankful that there were many utensils, kitchen appliances and any cleaning products available to us so that bringing those extras wasn’t a worry. When we arrived we also couldn’t stop saying that the price was definitely worth this house and that we would’ve even paid more!! Thank you to the team at Tapnell for our lovely stay.

We had a wonderful time staying at Poacher’s lodge! The house, secure rear garden and location were perfect for our party of 5 adults and 3 dogs!
The house was comfortable, spacious, clean and had everything we could need. The farm shop a short walk away was well-stocked with lovely produce too!

Amazing, I can’t fault it, other than I wished we had stayed longer! They have thought of everything you may need and want to do while there as a family on the farm. Everything was well keep and it didn’t look tired or run down. There are things suitable for young children but also older children, and adults too!
The Cow restaurant was so good, the food was amazing and such good value for money.
We will def be coming back again!

We had a wonderful stay at Poachers Lodge, the house has a great layout with a large kitchen dining space and two lounges with TVs- also a lovely seating area outside. The garden worked well for football, and has a trampoline, and the location is perfect- near to beaches and lots of things to do with the kids. We had a couple of delicious meals at The Cow.

POACHERS Lodge is great for a family and friends gathering. The bedrooms are all big and plenty of bathrooms. The double bed was extremely comfortable. 2 sitting areas were big and comfortable giving lots of room for everyone. The kitchen was exemplary! Huge kitchen island for extra space preparing food and space for 4 high stools. Then also plenty of space around a huge table with seating for 10. The kitchen has all the equipment needed. There are no stock items so everything including salt, pepper and oil need to be brought. Although there is a very well stocked farm shop if you forget anything.
Truly comfortable living for groups.

We had a lovely stay, the house is spacious and comfortable and well equipped. We loved being close to the facilities at Tapnell Farm. We will plan to return in the summer to enjoy the lovely big garden.
The only minor changes would be to have a lock on the downstairs bathroom, a bin in the en-suite, a door mat by the back door. The heating was also set to stay on all night which for us was too warm. But overall a really lovely stay. Thank you

We had such an incredible stay at Poachers Lodge! The 4 double bedrooms are spacious, clean and cosy and perfect for our party (3 children and 6 adults). The living space is sociable and perfect for everyone to have their own space, especially with 3 children.
It is a short walk up the lane to the farm. The house is close to the main road but this isn’t noticeable once inside, and although it is a fast road it is not busy (we’re from the mainland). There is a big driveway which was plenty big enough for our 3 cars.
The garden is enclosed and again, a sociable area. We didn’t make as much use of it as we should have but I can imagine in the warmer, drier months our children wouldn’t have left!
Communication was brilliant from start to finish. The team were polite, friendly and helpful, we couldn’t ask for more. We will be back soon!

We’ve stayed a couple of times previously but never in Poachers Lodge and it did not disappoint. Brilliant space, excellent sleep and very well appointed for the six of us in our party.
My kids are a little older so I wasn’t sure if the farm would even be a draw, it was, and it was enjoyed by us all.
An all round brilliant couple of nights away from London! I’d definitely book Poachers Lodge again!

Stay was efficiently organised and, with the exception of one phone conversation for directions to the property, no interaction at all with the owner. Would have been nice to have had an introduction at some point during our stay even if just to say hello. Property is near the road and, with the windows open at night, the bedrooms nearest the road did experience some traffic noise. The house was well equipped and very clean. There were no instructions for the appliances and we did struggle to get the coffee machine to work! Neat BBQ and games area outside and a very well kept garden. We did a mixture of catering and eating out and both were equally enjoyable. The property is ideally located to explore the west of the island although nowhere is very far away. A short drive to the lovely beach at Freshwater Bay which was a real highlight for us. Some nice local walks with lovely views, especially towards sunset. We would happily stay again.
