Tapnell Farm and specifically the Manor House is a fantastic place for the whole family to visit. The house itself was amazing, clean, well decorated, well equipped and in a superb location. The farm park kept all the kids (1 year to 15 years) amused and the food in the Cow restaurant is also well worth a mention. Great customer service- we will stay again

Should be called Manor Home as that is what it is and feels like. Party of 18 enjoyed every second. Lovely property great living space and bedrooms and gardens were beautifully looked after. It was lovely to be able to all sit together and eat. On site staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Couldn’t ask for a better long weekend.

Our second family gathering at this wonderful house. There is something for everyone here. The 4-11 year olds had a magical garden with woods, swings, and lots of nooks and crannies for hide and seek. The house itself was a wonderland of hideaways with games and satellite tv. The adults played snooker and darts. During the day there was shooting, axe throwing and archery. Lots of visits to beautiful beaches only five minutes drive away. One night that was a bit chilly (typical British August!) we lit the beautiful Inglenopk fire. So warm and cosy with deep leather sofas to sink into while sipping hot chocolate…or red wine for some!
Housekeeping were friendly and efficient e.g. We had no flights for the darts…as soon as we asked - they appeared. A light not working…it was seen to straight away. This house is not cheap. But it takes a lot of people, and the standard of accommodation, access to activities and customer service make it well worth it to us. Our four year old suggested we all move in here permanently!

We had a wonderful stay in the Manor House with the whole family from age 5 - 70years and all loved every second of it. Used the pizza oven and BBQ which were super easier to use with plenty of supplies and we enjoyed delicious pizzas! The garden was perfect for the kids to play in and everyone had plenty of space with ample bedrooms to choose from. The kids absolutely loved going in and out of the farm and we all throughly enjoyed the aqua park. Fab family holiday

The perfect house for a group of friends with kids & dogs - we were lucky with the weather and the gardens are stunning too. We loved collecting the eggs with Barry and the proximity to the Farm Park / The Cow is amazing which gave lots of flexibility to our plans. Would highly recommend The Cow for a burger. It’s wonderful being able to see the sea from lots of windows too. The house itself is a great set up, lots of rooms, all spacious and plenty of bathrooms too. The area is lovely and lots to explore - we did a lunch at The Hut, beach walk on Compton Beach, coffee from the Bike Box cafe, sea swim at Colwell Bay and coffee after from PO41 in Yarmouth. The walks round the Needles are stunning too. Be prepared to rebook on your ferry home!

Tapnell Manor was the perfect setting for Dad's 80th birthday celebrations. From the initial booking to the end of our stay, the customer service was great. The property itself was interesting & very comfortable & we made use of every room ! We had pool competitions in the games room & the lovely gardens were perfect for our 'Bigfoot' hunt ! Fresh eggs were delivered to us on arrival, which was a nice touch. Overall, our stay was amazing & I would absolutely recommend this property. We had a brilliant stay at Tapnell Manor. We were a group of 26 (12 adults & 14 children). The accommodation was perfect for us, really flexible sleeping arrangements, comfortable beds, loads of living space and well equipped. Great comms too.
The grounds are gorgeous, great walks nearby and the children loved the farm park. We also had a great meal at the cow.

Tapnell was an amazing house with the most beautiful grounds. The house is huge and there was more than enough space for our group of 17 adults! We were able to check in a little early which really helped with our plans.
Only feedback I would give is that there were not enough cleaning products/equipment, and if we were there any longer than 2 nights we would have struggled (e.g. no hoover)!

We were a group of 24 colleagues, coming from London to spend a long weekend together at the Isle of Wight, and were lucky enough to cross paths with Tapnell Farm whilst searching for accommodation.
The Manor itself is stunning, so much to unpack and discover both inside and out - 2 nights doesn't do it justice to actually spend quality time there. It is so well maintained and looked after - particularly the garden(s) around the Manor which were stunning.
A special shout out to the warm and accommodating staff on-site - particularly Amanda and Chloe who kindly helped out whenever required, and at such short notice too. If we ever return to the Isle of Wight, we all know where we will be coming to stay!
A word of warning - the neighbours do not like any noise/fun/laughter and will let you know about it - which was a bit of a shame as we were trying to enjoy some garden games in the late afternoon!
Highly recommend it to all.

Our stay at Tapnell Manor was everything we could hope for. We were a group of friends on a meditation retreat and the house had everything we needed - space, comfort, gorgeous location. The only minor negative was that some of the duvets were a bit thin. I’d like to see more generous bedding to match the generosity of the rest of the house. But that was a minor issue. The management staff were consistently quick to respond, friendly, and very helpful when one of our party was unwell. We’ll be back!

Having booked but cancelled ( due to Covid) this stay for March 2022 the Tapnell team were very cooperative in changing our booking to September 2022.
The Manor was pristine, very clean and well maintained. The kitchen was equipped for any eventuality and everything you could need throughout the stay was provided, with the exception of food of course. We enjoyed time on the farm and used The Cow to eat, twice, as well as catering for ourselves. All in all everyone had a great time and The Manor exceeded our expectations. A group of 12 of us stayed here for a friends wedding. We were so impressed with the high standard of the Manor House it was so well equipped. The Kitchen was so sociable and practical. The bedrooms spacious and comfortable and the gardens were beautiful. We only wished we could have stayed longer.

We travelled as a large family group from 6yrs-80yrs. The house catered for everyone with plenty of space for people to gather in smaller groups or all as one, the communal rooms were large enough to cater for 22 of us sitting together. The house was well maintained, well equipped and very clean. The bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds and nice powerful hot showers. The jewel in the crown was the garden which was stunning with incredible views. The gardeners hard work is evident throughout. We were blessed with the weather so could take advantage of the fabulous decked sitting area, or play games in the expansive grounds.
Whilst on site we took the opportunity to have a wander and look at the other accommodation which also looked well thought through and very appealing.
The facilities at the farm were great. A well stocked shop with high quality items, The Cow restaurant which we ate in and highly recommend, the farm itself which the children loved and all the adults noticed how clean and well run it was. We booked a slot at the water park which was brilliant fun and would definitely recommend for adults and children alike. Whilst we didn’t get time to join other activities on site, I would imagine they live up to the high standards Tapnell Farm has implemented everywhere else. Would be go back and would we recommend to others? The answer is yes yes yes and yes!!

12 good friends stayed at Tapnell Manor and loved every minute of it. It’s a beautiful house with delightful gardens surrounding the property. Fortunately we mostly had good weather and were able to sit outside on the pati, which was sheltered from the breeze, and in the courtyard. Also enjoyed some excellent walking in the vicinity. We had a delicious meal one evening in The Cow, excellent burgers and so convenient, no worries about having to drive home afterwards. The staff in the office are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
All in all, an excellent place to stay in beautiful sourroundings.

We were a large group of friends with our family. The booking (and rebooking thanks to COVID) was made so easy and the staff were so helpful. The property is beautiful and even with 19 people, doesn’t feel cramped. Easy to organise a shop delivery too. The grounds are great for the kids to play and within sight and even better the farm is right next door.

Due to the last minute intervention of COVID we were only ten adults so we had plenty of room in this comfortable Manor House. Splendid local walks and the separate Games Room gave us plenty of activity supplemented by the discounted onsite activities-Archery and Axe Throwing. Whilst we had no children in our group there appeared to be a number of popular activities for younger guests. We ate one evening at the burger based Cow Restaurant and although there were a variety of dietary requirements, everybody was able to choose a suitable meal. The kitchen and utility room were well appointed- hot water was readily available and relaxing in the lounge with a log fire and a glass of wine was a great end to the day. But perhaps the real highlight is the extensive private gardens. We played pétanque in the gravelled area, croquet and badminton on the lawn and just relaxed on the patio and multiple benches dotted around the garden. We had a great short break.

A perfect place to celebrate a multi generational gathering. Rooms to escape to and rooms large enough to all be together. Perfect situation near the beach but also Tapnell farm which was enjoyed by us all aged 2-88 !

We stayed for a week during school holidays. Group made up of 5 families with a total of 9 children in age range 1-5.
Good bits
Farm park is amazing, children absolutely loved it and gave the parents a well needed break.
Loads of space in house and beds were comfortable.

Garden was messy and appeared to be uncared for. Lots of weeds in patio. Dog poo found on lawn which had been there for some time.
Garden furniture in poor condition - table collapsed.
Lots of cobwebs around - not an issue in themselves, but indicative of rushed cleaning.
Hoover was poor
Shower which was broken
Issue with pool table which took a number of days to resolve
To be aware of
Garden is very large and not contained - children can easily wander off unintentionally.
Mosquitos - bring something (spray, candles, plug ins) to keep them at bay.

We had a wonderful 5 day stay at Tapnell Farm in the Manor House. There is such a choice of accommodation on the farm so
Something for everyone! For our party of 2 families, 13 adults in total the manor house was absolutely perfect. I wish I could capture in this review, the excitement as we arrived. Exploring the gardens and the house was magical. Fabulous accommodation for us all. Each bedroom was original and unique, bed configurations to suit all groups. Plenty of living accommodation and the kitchen with a fabulous aga was the heart of the house and we spent lots of time around the table. Wonderful service from Chloe and the team from the time we booked until we left. Lots of small touches that made the difference. We were sad to leave and the acid test to any holiday is whether you’d return, we will definitely be back .

Stayed here with a group of 14. Plenty of space in a beautiful location. The hot summer weather allowed us to make full use of the beautiful garden and nearby beaches. The Manor house enabled us the space and provision for a wonderfully relaxing weekend.

This is a wonderful, large, characterful interesting building that clearly has some history with some modern additions over the years. The staff were super-helpful and always available. Great to be able to visit the leisure / farm activities on the site too (never heard any noise from that) and see the animals and use the go-carts etc. Huge TV in the games room to watch England losing in the football final, a pool table and plenty of rooms for hide and seek! The dining room even has two wine decanters that we put to good use too....
The building is about 10 minutes drive from freshwater beach - perfect for easy parking and swimming. The grounds are a good size and full of interesting plants, enough for our group to spread out and enjoy.
There were a few glitches during the week (erratic shower, unstable bunks and leaky roof) but Chloe was straight onto that. The main challenge was the nearby mosquito population..... bring repellant in advance is my tip!
All in all this is a wonderful place for a holiday and thoroughly recommended.

Having been to Tapnell Farm before. We booked a holiday for April 2021. We were very fortunate to be able to stay in Tapnell Manor. The house is absolutely amazing. It is very comfortable and cosy. From a Log Burner to a Grand piano! It has many personal touches..elephant shaped towel, t-towels, cleaning products and plenty of sanitising soaps and sprays, tea and coffee. The house was very clean! Every room is very individual and spacious. The games room is a nice touch especially when you have teenagers! The house is perfect for all ages. The gardens are amazing. The gardener works very hard to keep it looking lovely. The farm has plenty to do. Farm Park to The Cow restaurant. All staff are very friendly. All in all a lovely holiday. I would highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Had the most wonderful time at Tapnell Manor for the half-term with my family of four. The manor was huge which the kids were super excited about , super charming, love our first AGA cooker experience and everything was absolutely lovely.
Farm was nice, chicken carer called Barry was super friendly and farm. We loved the whole farm experience and location was amazing!!!

After a refreshing break last year, we though it wise to book the Manor again this year! Despite the pandemic, we held our cards to our chest hoping for a break through before August. The hosts were happy to offer alternative dates the following year if required. Three weeks to go and there was the rush to get the ferry crossings confirmed for the multiple vehicles! The assistance we recieved in getting this done was world class, even the last minute changes..
Once we got to the Manor, it was exactly how we left it last year, except ofcourse for the missing HotTub, but still and amazing property that housed our large extended family in comfort with ease. As usual, all anemities and activities of choice were available as the Isle was open for business..

Tapnell Manor was the perfect family escape. The kids had space for exploring, a "secret garden" for adventures, and even discovered the vegetable patch. And having access to a romp at Tapnell Farm Park was an added bonus.
And for the adults, there was plenty of space for easy meals and R&R, well-appointed rooms, and comfortable places for quiet and plenty of spaces for social times. We loved it and would love to come again.

We came for a long weekend family gathering and will certainly return. The owners and staff are great and the children spent loads of time in the play park. Lovely house which met all our needs. The water in the kitchen wasn’t hot enough for washing up which was odd but all else was perfect. A barrier/gate at the bottom (and top) of the stairs would be helpful as our baby gates weren’t wide enough and we kept losing the toddlers!

A wonderful week spent at the Manor celebrating my partners 70th birthday, 19 of us from age 5 - 70! The six grandchildren, when not having fun in the games room, loved playing hide & seek for hours in the rambling house. The kitchen, which was incredibly well stocked, soon became the focus of the house with its huge table to seat all the adults with the grandchildren preferring to have their meals around the large table in the conservatory just off the kitchen. The main lounge was superb for entertaining, after having a fabulous lunch at The Cow on NYE we then celebrated in the lounge, bags room for dancing and plenty of sofas for all! On New Years Day evening we celebrated my partners birthday having a formal dinner in the lovely dining room with its huge table. Don't forget to take a stroll to the chicken coup each morning to collect eggs for breakfast!
There are many fantastic walks to go on around the Manor... also take a drive to Alum Bay to take a walk to The Needles which is a must for the views! Compton Bay was great for the surfers and paddle boarders in our group, and a great game of golf was played on the Freshwater Bay golf course. There are many other places to visit on the island, the Garlic Farm definitely being one of them!
We really couldn't have chosen a better place for our celebrations, the staff in the Tapnell office are second to none, nothing is too much for them... they even left us a wonderful hamper of scrumptious goodies. Our grandchildren made good use of the adventure barn at the farm and there is a new Aqua park opening in the Spring.
The Cow restaurant on the farm is a must to visit, just a two minute walk from the house, the food is amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful.

I booked Tapnell Manor Stockbridge Cottage and 2 Pods for the village walking group. There were 26 of us in all. The weather was awful but we knew that we had wonderful accommodation to come back to. The Manor was a perfect haven . There was plenty of space for everyone so table tennis could be played while others played bridge in the conservatory. The wood fire dried our boots and the aga our jackets.
Stockbridge Cottage is a little tired but the beds were very comfortable.
The Cow restaurant was a favourite of many.
The position of Tapnell Farm couldn’t be better for wonderful walks with Tennyson Down and Mottistone just a short drive away.

The age range of our extended family was 8 to 80. The house and garden were both perfect with lots of space so we didn't get on top of each other. And the area was great with site seeing and walking for the older ones, cycling, beach, coasteering, paddle boarding and canoeing for the teens and twenties. And the younger ones had a great time popping in and out of the farm park. All together a very memorable and hassle free week.

We have just returned from our long weekend break at Tapnell Manor. It was perfect for a large family gathering great facilities for all to enjoy from the youngest to the older ones. Plenty of space for us to spread out. Super gardens for the children to explore or for the older ones to relax. Standard of the accommodation was good well equipped kitchen for self catering or Excellent Cow Restaurant next door. Also Tapnell Farm with all the fabulous activities for the children. Very helpful and friendly staff running the bookings as well. Can thoroughly recommend this for a large family gathering and hopefully we will be back in the future.

We booked this for a 50th birthday celebration weekend. Chloe and her team couldn' have been more helpful. Organising different ferries for each family attending. We arrived on Friday night to a beautiful house really clean and ready to go. The house comes stocked with all cleaning essentials, condiments, tea, coffee and sugar. (I could have saved myself a bag!) Everyone who came loved the house and we never felt like we were on top of each other at all. The gardens are impressive and fortunately for us the weather was amazing. Who else can say they had a BBQ brunch overlooking the downs having just been in the hot tub in march!
We booked for dinner on the Saturday night which went without a hitch and the food was really good. We are now exhausted from a weekend of good food, drink, company and weather and did not want to go to work this morning. Would highly recommend Tapenell Manor, actually any of their various accommodation options (we have stayed in 3 now!) Thank you.

We booked the Manor together with the Dairyman's Cottage and other eco lodges to house family and friends for a birthday party. The guests loved the Manor with its space, log fires and stunning views. It was well appointed and had everything they needed for the weekend. It was central and gave enough space for privacy and the party activities. There was a no fuss just help yourself attitude which my guests loved - including eggs from the chicken coop and the honesty shop.
Perfect location for a group of friends looking a lazy weekend on the Island or something more active as there is so much to do all around. The families with little ones loved the Farm and the soft play and the adults loved the walks, the golf and the cycling.

There’s not much left to want when you stay at Tapnell Manor. Grand rooms with cosy beds, a beautiful kitchen with all essential equipment for cooking and a dining room that seems as though it could seat the whole farm! Upon arrival, all the fires were lit with a bottle of fizz on ice- the perfect welcome to our stay. With 4 kids, everything was taken care of, cots set up and high chairs stacked. The farm itself was heaven for the children, the only problem we had was getting them

My extended family and I, along with some close friends, stayed at the Manor House over a recent weekend in January to celebrate a milestone birthday. What a fantastic time we had there! There was 25 of us staying in the Manor house and we were all well accommodated in various bedrooms. The place is really well kept and spotless throughout. Along with all the other rooms the Manor House is really more than adequate to accommodate a large group. We had children in our party who had great fun using the hot tub as well all the other child friendly facilities to utilise on site. We definitely hope to return to Tapnell at some point in the future.

This is the second time we have stayed at the wonderful old Tapnell Manor for our family Christmas break and everyone enjoyed themselves enormously. The house was beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming, and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and play with their presents! A particular thank-you must go to Chloe who dealt with any issues very quickly, and even managed to conjure up a couple of tickets to see Santa. The only quibble coming from the family was the fact that the hot tub was out of action for three days; a pity for those in the party who missed their watery frolic.

My friends had a wonderful time staying at Tapnell Manor for our wedding at Easton Afton Farmhouse. They were bowled over by the Manor - it is quite a striking place! Chloe was an excellent host: responsive, considerate, and helpful. Lots of our guests are finding excuse to come back to the Island just to stay here!

After visiting Tapnell Manor for the first time last year, I just had to come back! So I arranged a stay for my parent's 60th birthday with a group of 20 people from 2 - 60 years old. From start to finish our experience has been perfect. Chloe was brilliantly responsive and accommodating, even helping to arrange our ferries from Portsmouth. The manor is beautiful - cosy yet modern with everything you need. Everyone loved it. Having breakfast in the conservatory is lovely, the playroom is great and we loved the cosy evenings playing board games around the fire. The farm is just a 2 minute walk away with loads to keep the kids busy (and the adults loved the archery too!). Restaurants and pubs are only a short drive away - I'd highly recommend a country walk along the Tapnell Trail to the Red Lion pub and a day trip to Shanklin is just a 30 minute drive. Thank you and we will definitely be back!

I stayed at Tapnell Manor with my family to celebrate my 60th birthday. There was plenty of room for all of us to stay and the facilities were fantastic. We used the hot tub, the games room and the gardens. We had a minor problem with one of the toilets which was rectified within an hour. All in all a really lovely venue. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone.

The adjective that has been used very frequently to describe the weekend we've just had a Tapnell Manor is "amazing". From first contact through to booking the accommodation and ferry Chloe and team have been nothing short of fantastic. We were a party of 16 in the end, and ALL of them were blown away by the Manor, the service and the wonderful meal at the Cow restaurant. I have love, love, loved every second of my birthday weekend. I can't thank the team at Tapnell enough for all their efforts.

A party of 9 adults and 4 children descended on Tapnell Manor on 27th July for a week that was full of fun, laughter, fine weather and extremely convivial surroundings.
The Manor itself was spacious, but homely, with various nooks and crannies that were well used by all - hide and seek took hours and no one place was used more than once!
The conservatory was a great place to play board games, as well as sit and watch the beautiful sunsets, whilst the games room provided hours of table tennis fun for all. The large lounge was very comfy, and gave space for people to relax at the end of the busy days that we all had.
The gardens are wonderful; the children enjoying races, playing ball games, and all enjoying the hot tub and barbecue.
Chloe and the team were on hand to help when needed, which was very minimal, as everything worked well.
The Manor gave us the prefect setting for our special holiday - thank you to everyone involved with the running of the house. I am so pleased I found you.

We had a lovely time for a second year. A full house but water stayed hot and plentiful and kitchen appliances worked in the main.
In brief- dishwashers need lots more salt as not cleaning well. The oven doors are a bit temperamental and food cooked unevenly - ?needs service ?
New pillows, and duvets needed throughout with protectors on that can be washed after each guest as well as the top linen as felt a bit unclean. Towels need replacing too ideally.
New clothes hanger needed as other one was broken when we arrived. Wooden one might be better?
Kitchen needs a brush and dustpan to hand as we couldn’t find one when we needed it.

We booked our stay almost two years ago and throughout the entire process Chloe and the team offered customer service that is second to none. They booked everything for us including the ferry crossing and kept us informed of the progress the entire time. The information they sent out about Tapnell farm complex was good and the specific contact with us was great. Our party was 14 adults, 8 grandkids and a few dogs... they catered for us perfectly.
The manor and the grounds are a dream and we loved every minute we were there. The Gardens are lovely and the manor is very grand. It is decorated and furnished in the style of an old manor and this felt just right. The area (and the whole island) is wonderful and the Manor is a great base from which to explore. We had beautiful weather for the first four days and the manor played the perfect setting for our big family holiday & 60th birthday party. Excellent. The only sad part was we didn't book The Cow restaurant that has a great reputation and they could not fit us in (our fault) We wont make that mistake next time.... The very saddest part, actually, was coming home....

We had a wonderful weekend party. All our immediate family staying in the perfectly equipped Manor , in comfort, the rooms and garden immaculate and welcoming for ,the friends and family who came on Saturday. Everyone very delighted with the space and facilities. There was even room in the garden for the marching band display. I celebrated my 60th birthday with my family at Tapnell Manor. I can't thank the staff especially Chloe for all there help. Nothing was too much. The look on my families face when they arrived at the Manor was one I'll never forget. There were 21 of us including 2 children aged 5 years. The farm was the ideal place as the children could go over and enjoy the activity centre and we could all enjoy walk around the farm and beyond. There were plenty of rooms so we could spread out or relax together in the main lounge and eat together in the evenings in the beautiful dining room. We enjoyed afternoon tea in the conservatory and loved having breakfast in the kitchen. We have not been able to stop talking about our wonderful weekend and can't thank Chloe for looking after us all so well. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We are looking at booking again next year. After telling people about our weekend, they have asked for the details so they can book in the future.

Tapnell Manor is the perfect house for big parties, with it's 10 bedrooms and multiple living and lounging spaces it's great for a family getaway. As a family of 3 generations and 17 people we needed a big house to accommodate us all for a family celebration and we spent 4 days and 3 nights at this wonderful house. We were lucky that the weather was amazing too so that helped.
The house can take up to 22, though if the party is all adults you would struggle as one room has child size bunk beds.
There are plenty of toilets and bathrooms though my only slight criticism (being picky!) is that 3 of the en-suite bedrooms (there are 4) don't have showers they have baths with shower head attachments but no curtains or wall attachments to hang the shower head from so not really of any use for showering. We all shared the other separate bathrooms to shower.

Full marks, brilliant stay. Weather awful but no matter there was plenty to see and do on the farm and in the Manor House. Would be happy to recommend "The Tapnell Experience". Cowshed excellent service/food but need to book early to avoid disappointment, unsurprisingly it gets very busy!

The house was big enough to defuse any family tensions and the attractions for children on the larger site were great. It's huge, extremely well-stocked with everything you'd need for a perfect stay on the Isle of Wight and we were super warm there even in December! It's a fantastic space, the gardens are lovely and the walk to the Red Lion pub is a perfect afternoon excursion. Would recommend to any large group (family and / or friends) and we would love to find an excuse to return very soon!

We've stayed at Tapnell a few times now and it never disappoints. From the friendly and helpful team who look after bookings and help with queries during our stay to the amazing house; it is always a brilliant trip. We are a big group totally outnumbered by children and it still manages to be relaxing as there is so much space for them to play and so much to do on the island. The house has everything you need and more - we still haven't used the dining room and hardly use the living room as we live outside! It is always clean and comfortable and just works brilliant ly- thank you so much.

This place is a must stay for large groups. Set in a luxurious location with a fantastic garden that extends out into the rest of the farm. The entire manor house is to a high standard and caters to large groups perfectly with enough space for everyone to socialise and not feel like you are on top of one another. All of my friends who stayed were impressed on walking through the front door. There is a fantastic dining room that caters for 26 people easily- we hired in caterers to cook and serve us so we could all continue each others company without added stress. There was ample room in the kitchen with an Aga and oven for the caterers. Finally, the team were attentive and always responsive to messages, especially Chloe who answered my questions promptly. Thanks to the Tapnell Manor team for providing a great location for a large group of friends to catch up. I will definitely be bringing my family here in the future. Regards, Chris

We have had the most brilliant weekend staying at Tapnell Manor. We had 10 adults and 12 children and there was plenty of room for all. The children adored the garden, games room, hot tub and, of course the farm park. The location near Tennyson Down is one of the most beautiful places in the UK. The dining room was perfect for the birthday dinner and the conservatory made a great disco room!
I would particularly like to thank Chloe and team for their patient and helpful customer service leading up to the event. They gave me lots of contacts and support.

Perfect location on a remote part of the gorgeous Isle of Wight.

Our large family thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend in this beautiful old house, with room to congregate as a party and bedrooms nicely spread out for a bit of privacy when needed. From the warmth of the Aga in the spacious kitchen to the luxury of the hot tub under the stars, this was a really relaxing break in glorious countryside. It's ideal for children with the animals and play barn on hand, but also a sophisticated retreat for grown-ups. We had a really good Sunday lunch at the Cow Co as a bonus. Thoroughly recommended!

We booked this some time ago for my Dad's birthday. The accommodation perfectly suited our extended family group including grandchildren and great grandchildren (the youngest was 3). There is plenty of space for everyone and the large enclosed garden was perfect for the little ones to run around and for our BBQ on Saturday at which some of Dad's local friends could join us. We used a local caterer for this, but took turns to cook all other meals in the well equipped kitchen- the Aga, as well as a large electric cooker, two dishwashers and a very large fridge and freezer made this all seem easy. We loved eating together around the huge dining room table! The bedrooms are beautifully decorated with comfortable beds, and stunning views. The bathrooms had plenty of hot water and the adults enjoyed the Jacuzzi outside. We were lucky to have two sunny days and were treated to spectacular sunsets from the conservatory. Chloe and the team were very helpful and welcoming from the start. All in all a perfect weekend. Thank you Tapnell - we hope to be back for the next big birthday!

We loved the house, it had everything you could possibly think of. Toys for the grandchildren Ping Pong, snooker and lots of soft play arrears on site.
Lovely lovely , location with wonderful walks. Everybody could do their own thing if they wanted to. We didn't get round to using the jacuzzi as there was so much else going on. We did, however, have lunch and in the Cow Barn, delicious and good service. We were 12 so did book, it was busy so booking in season would be esssential.
We had log fires every evening in the huge drawing room. Could have watched television but it was good just to talk. They even have a piano!
The children loved playing hide and seek, with a house that size it is easy to find places to hide yourself away.
We had caterers In on the Saturday, which was very good, lively food and no washing up. Although with two dish washers there is no problem.
A wonderful celebration weekend and one that our children and grandchildren will not forget.

We had an excellent visit and would highly recommend the farm to friends and family. For our personnel stay a better breakfast option would have been appreciated as we were not set up to cook in our rooms/cabins and some maintenance work is needed on the lodges as in the wind, albeit it was exceptional during out stay, the banging on the roof from loose parts prevented anyone from sleeping in both of the cabins throughout the wind. The cabins did also move and creak in the wind but that was to be expected. One of the pods was not particularly clean with sticky kitchen tops and cutlery, Again that will be as we were visiting off season but all crockery and cutlery could do with a regular scheduled clean by the staff in between bookings. The food at the Cow and Co was excellent, to be recommended.

There were 12 of us staying at the house for a long weekend and we all had a fantastic time. We all came from London, either on the train or driving, it was very easy for everyone even on a Friday evening after work!
It's a beautiful old Manor House with lots of big spaces to entertain and relax, cozy bedrooms and lots of fireplaces. Went to the restaurant 'CowCo' for lunch and had a great lunch, exceptional steaks.
All in all it was a fantastic weekend, thank you to Mr Tom Turney for organising it for us.

Fabulous house in excellent near some beautiful walks and gold course. Bedrooms were perfect size and worked really well for our party of 8 couples. The hot tub was a nice addition - even in chilly January! Beautiful gardens too and the Cow restaurant was great. Just the best place for a big birthday celebration. Would love to come back

We came for our Christmas family celebration, and loved the atmosphere in this wonderful old manor house. The gifts under the Christmas tree were much appreciated! There was plenty of space for all our different activities both inside and out; the children enjoyed the activities on the farm itself, while the braver members relaxed in the hot-tub. What an amazing place for hide and seek and treasure hunts. The kitchen was a 'proper family room' and I got quite converted to cooking in an Aga. There was plenty of space for everyone elsewhere in the comfortable bedrooms, spacious living and dining rooms. So much to do and see on the island that we would all love to come and stay again - hopefully the dishwasher will be mended by then!

Such a beautiful house in a beautiful setting and the little extra touches made it even more special. A perfect place for a big group/family to have a holiday with more rooms that you know what to do with! The hot tub makes it feel even more exclusive and the views are just stunning. The farm next door is great for kids and adults alike and the restaurant does excellent filling food! Can't recommend it enough.

This is the perfect place to be enjoying time with family and friends. A chilled atmosphere, lots to explore and places to go. And on this occasion, we also celebratrated our wedding! We had a good weekend at tapnelll and it served our needs well . ( 4 families and 1 extra grown up) there was enough room to not be on top of one another ..
Everything you needed in kitchen ... A couple of Bathrooms could have done with a refresh ... Our loo blocked but I guess that's what happens with an old plumbing system .,,
Staff were really helpful every time we spoke to them,,, would recommend the house .

Excellent venue for large groups with spacious and plentiful communal areas. Big enough to have whole party in same rooms yet enough rooms to escape if necessary! Garden is fantastic and beautifully maintained. Tapnell Farm was a fantastic addition for parties with young children. Summer shindig was great fun.

Spectacular position with beautiful walks from the farm and Compton bay only 5 mins away. The rambling farmhouse has great character and despite being 18 of us we never felt cramped. Excellent kitchen with plenty of seating and a lovely old Aga. The 9 children loved exploring the gardens and climbing trees in the woods. They particularly loved the clearing where they could light fires and sit around with marshmallows on toasting sticks. They made pizzas themselves and cooked them in the pizza oven. The onsite play barn and animals were both well run and enjoyable. We had a decent cooked breakfast in the cow co restaurant and the honesty shop was really handy and the children liked this concept. Chloe the property manager was extremely helpful and responded promptly to a text when the washing machine motor broke and arranged a repair within 2 days. The wood fired hot tub was a nice touch but the relaxed charm of the place was for me it's best feature.

This is our second week at Tapnell Manor and it was just as brilliant as before. It is a lovely, spacious house, well presented and well equipped which seems to effortlessly give a feel of luxury but also informality so you can completely relax even with a tribe of wild children in tow. The kids love it - they can sit and play board games, play table tennis in the games room or have a full-on Nerf war around the lovely garden. The new on-site facilities went down well with the kids and everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. It is hard to think of a better place for a large group. Just booked for our third year so it must be good!

We had the family (including 4 small children to 2 month old baby) for two nights, then they moved off and we had friends for one night. Everything was made ready for us, and the changeover of linen and towels was no trouble. The house is a perfect shape and size for a large house party, very comfortable, with space to socialise as well as places for a bit of quiet. The gardens, chickens and other attractions were the icing on the cake. Everyone said how super the place was and enjoyed their stay.
On the wish list - two dishwashers, instead of just one dishwasher. However,the place was very well equipped, TV perfect for watching European Football matches, the games room a great hit with young and old alike. Regret that we did not have time to make use of the hot tub........
Would love to book Tapnell Manor again for another family celebration. Thanks to Chloe, Tom amd the team for a very memorable stay.

It's not often you get to stay in a manor house, is it? It's even rarer that you get to stay in a manor house in the sun with your best friends surrounded by acres of manicured gardens and eggs straight from the coot!
Our time here - for a friends wedding in nearby Freshwater - was purely magical. Our group consisted of 15 adults and 5 children and everyone left feeling like we should just pool our limited finances together and buy a farm. The manor is stunning, each room is tastefully decorated and furnished - a bit rough round the edges in places but to be expected of such a HUGE place. Mostly it just added to its charm - and charm it has aplenty.
It has a wood fired hot tub, gas BBQ's and a fundamental sense of space - particularly if you are lucky with the weather. It has a large, fully stocked games room and a large, sunlit lounge.
A truly magical place.

The decor is great and the garden spectacular. Chloe was always available whenever we had a question yet totally un-imposing. We genuinely felt like we had total privacy and use of the house for the whole weekend. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone- fantastic value for money, and so much to do!

This group of friends have used over 40 different venues over many years, and we all agreed this was one of the best. Although some rooms still need to be refurbished, nearly all the bedrooms were excellent in size and quality. The kitchen could be a bit larger, and the furniture in the dining room could be more robust - a couple of chairs collapsed ! The lounge was superb, perfect for a large group.
One toilet was not operating properly, and one bedroom had no easy wash/toilet facility. No lock on the disabled toilet/shower door.
Al these small criticisms are minor compared to the overall excellence of the venue, and can be easily rectified, as we are sure they will be. Staff were very quick to rectify any issues. Overall, the staff were great - polite ,helpful and friendly.
Excellent location for the West side of the island, and the farm environment was wonderful . The staff were great, helpful and polite. We have already agreed that we will return in a couple of years.

Our group ranged from age 1 to 81. We all had a great time. There was lots of room for the 15 of us to spread out. We played table tennis in the games room, had a big jigsaw laid out on the table in the conservatory, we all ate together in the dining room, we danced in the sitting room, we took turns in the hot tub, had a bbq, played football in the garden and there was still room to read a book somewhere quietly!
We hired bikes, went for walks and visited different Isle of Wight attractions.
It was a perfect place.

We were warmly welcomed on the Friday morning and shown around the house. All 15 of us had arrived by that evening and we had the fires alight and the house lovely and warm and a super meal for all in the large and homely kitchen.
Off walking on Saturday finishing up with a superb meal in the splendid dining room created by the caterers recommended by the farm, "Angel in the Kitchen".
Great 'brunch' at the Cow Company on Sunday morning, so handy!
Everything you were likely to need was available and the staff were friendly, cheerful and efficient.
We were celebrating a major birthday of my wife's with our family, Tapnell Manor was the perfect venue and helped make the occasion a memorable one.

Tapnell Manor is a very large house but feels cosy and homely. We were very pleased that the heating was on as the weekend we stayed, it was bitterly cold outside and a big house could have felt cold. The aga in the kitchen added extra warmth too.
We were a group of 20 with age range from 10 weeks to 69 years. There was plenty of room for us to all be together and also to have some space from each other- very important when you are all related!
The house was stocked with the basics which is handy when self catering.

We spent Christmas week in this lovely house. Wonderful atmosphere, big rooms,logs fires with free supply of logs, aga in the kitchen.
Great location for walks in the fresh air. Good restaurant and bar nearby (100yds) Outstanding childrens indoor play area, no small children with us but i took a look and now considering summer holiday for my grandchildren.
Anything we didnt have was quickly supplied and there is also a well stocked honesty shop.
Discounted ferry fairs too.
Thank you all at Tapnell for a for ever remembered Christmas.

We had our team away day at Tapnell Farm and stayed in the Manor & Dairyman's Cottage. We stayed for 3 nights and had the best time!! The staff were awesome, food good and properties were lovely & clean with beautifully decorated Christmas trees. We were even allowed to bring our dog Raffles!! Tapnell Manor is a great house for a party getaway, we made use of the hot-tubs and the kitchen was perfect to cook a 24 strong Christmas dinner.

This was our second visit to Tapnell Farm and it felt like returning to a favourite home. It is such a welcoming house and laid out in such a way that even with a large group (with many children) no-one is on top of anyone and the kids are never bored exploring. On both our visits the weather has been cold and blowy but the house is cosy with lots of rainy day entertainment on hand, plus the location is ideal for quick trips out for a blustery walk on the beach or to get supplies. The addition of the restaurant and play area on the site is fabulous and made for an easy way to entertain the kids. Chloe was fantastic at being on hand to answer any questions or concerns we had and overall we could not have wished for a better stay. I whole heartedly recommend staying here and we will definintely be back again!

Excellent for children as a lot to do even in bad weather. Manor House was beautiful and although old the modernisation of en suites and showers are excellent, but have still kept the original features ie. large open fireplaces and free logs (which is a first). You can even collect your own eggs for free. We get together as a complete family once a year but this is the best place so far, even the ferry over was an adventure for the children and with the discount which comes with booking Tapnell Manor, it wasn't expensive. I thoroughly recommend Tapnell Manor and will be looking to revisit again next year.

We enjoyed a wonderful family holiday, and Tapnell Manor works well for all ages. The house is charming in a 'fading grand' sort of way , a couple of small problems were resolved quickly, there are great activities for children within walking distance, and beaches were not far away.

What a fantastic stay that we had at Tapnell Farm for a week in August 2015. We were 8 adults and 8 children and there was plenty for all to do. We were so impressed with the manor and the space available. The children loved building dens and playing hide and seek in the garden! The surroundings were great and the kids loved the jumping pillow that was available to guests of Tapnell farm.
The facilities were fab- maybe more updated toys and games in the games room would be something that we would have hoped for but this is a real minor point and it certainly did not spoil our stay. We will certainly recommend Tapnell to our friends and family- it was a perfect location, only 10 mins drive from Yarmouth and the staff were all very friendly and willing to help!!!!
We cannot thank you enough for making our stay so special and we look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Lack of glasses and cups was a pain. Need for champagne flutes etc

Cow co was good and sometimes awful. Tea and a bacon sandwich- 50 minutes wait! And there were only 6 guests waiting!!!

The house has many very strong points. It is large, attractive and comfortable. The location Is charming and its grounds are very enjoyable. The facilities that are developing at the Farm - the play barn, restaurant and the animals - add something special for the children. Nearly all the important things have been done well. The beds are good, clean and comfortable; the bathrooms newly fitted and plentiful. There is ample heat and hot water. There is good ground floor space to relax and play. We were pleased to be able to watch the test match on Sky TV. We hired the hot tub which provided great fun for many of our party learning how to build an effective wood fire. Being able to use the produce in season in the garden and collect an occasional egg from the hen-house are nice bonuses.
There are two main challenges, . We were prepared for the Manor being a is a long way from a supermarket, pub or beach. Using a car regularly is unavoidable. There are however some very nice walks from the door and Compton Bay is only about 45 minutes on foot across the downs. The kitchen, whilst well-equipped including an Aga, is laid out in a way that makes simultaneous use by more than one person quite a challenge. Even sharing the washing up is not straightforward. These issues would not however stop us from going there again.

What an incredible place for a big family holiday, so well equipped for all ages - we had 10 adults and 9 children with us (ranging from 1 - 12 years old) and everyone thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The children especially loved playing in the gardens, collecting eggs from the chicken 'house', bouncing on the 'pillow' and best of all, the hot tub. We shall definitely return! Can't praise it enough!

We had a great week at Tapnell manor. There was a family group of 18 of us ranging from 10 months to 75 years. The house was ideally located with fantastic views. The house had huge rooms, so there was plenty of space for large groups of people, we didn't even get to use all the rooms! The garden is massive, just be careful of the ponds if you have young children. The children enjoyed collecting the eggs from the hen house. Good to have a games room with table tennis and darts - best to bring your own bats. The hot tub was an added bonus, it took us a while to get the hang of getting the water the correct temperature!
We would definitely recommend the house. There were some things that needed attention, such as a leak in the conservatory. It must be hard to maintain such a large house. An extra fridge would also be useful when there is a large party, to prevent visiting the supermarket too often and to store the beer and wine!

An added bonus was the farm where the younger children spent a lot of time with the lambs and chickens, whilst the older ones were able to find quiet areas in the house to do some exam revision. The hot tub was a great success and in use every day, as was the games room with table tennis and darts. A bonus for us all was the piano in the large lounge which obviously had been recently tuned,we had several evening concerts after dinner.
It's good too to have a reliable WiFi connection. The large dining room would seat 20+ diners and was very good.(, but we found the kitchen a bit small when cooking for 17.)We understand that modifications are due to take place and the kitchen work area will be expanded, perhaps with the addition of a second dishwasher and this should make all the difference.
All bedrooms were big and very good and there were plenty of bathrooms.
Outside the gardens were spectacular and a real credit to the gardeners who tend them.
This is the eighth holiday we have had together as a group and over the years have now rented seven houses in the south and southwest of England. Tapnell Manor can hold its head up high as probably the best house we have stayed in.

As a party of 4 families totalling 19 and 2 dogs, Tapnell Manor was the perfect house for us to get together.
All the bedrooms were large and clean. Bedding was lovely and comfortable. Kids loved the games room and the gardens and had had a great Easter Egg hunt out there! Views were beautiful too.
From start to finish we had excellent friendly service and we have already booked to come back next year.

We were greater on arrival, and shown around, Neil would be at the end of the phone if needed..17 people, we never felt on top of each other, rooms were fantastic. Breakfast in the sunny conservatory.. Lunch in the kitchen, and party in both..and when some just wanted to relax the lounge with log fires, or the Hot Tub was just the ticket.. Location was excellent to investigate the Island..so comfortable a real must for big groups.. I/we would definitely return!!!! Next time leaving my kitchen at home, as there was everything I needed and more!!!!!!

Tapnell Manor is a wonderful place to stay! It is grand but has a 'faded elegance' that means everyone can relax. The house is so large that it just swallows up the amount of people that are able to stay there & we certainly will be going back!!

Our weekend at Tapnell Manor was wonderful. The house has plenty of good sized bedrooms and lots of bathrooms. The living areas are large, the furniture is comfortable and ' lived in' which makes the place feel homely. Kimmi arranged for extra tables in the dining room which enabled us all to eat together (27 adults) and it was ideal. We were all adults but the 'playroom' was great with table tennis tournaments a great success.
We had a wonderful weekend in a fabulous house and would highly recommend it, I certainly hope it will not be our last visit to Tapnell Manor.

We hosted a party for ourselves and 15 friends over a long weekend at Tapnell Manor. We had a wonderful time, the house has everything you need and there is lots of space for a large party. We used the games room for a Salsa lesson for all 17 of us and had a dinner party with a musician in the dinning room. All of the bedrooms are lovely, well furnished and all had comfortable beds - everyone reported how well they slept. Its a great location for walking and seeing the sights and we had a guided walk on Sunday up to the Needles. WE had a great time and a number of the party intend to book the manor for family weekends in the near future.
We only had one tiny criticism and this is that it is very difficult to find in the dark. A couple of our guests arrived at 10.30pm and we had to talk them into the manor using our mobile phones and the site of their headlights, there isn't any lighting on the drive so it is a little risky to drive in and out at night, if you don't know the layout.

Our second stay at this wonderful house, celebrating 3 birthdays in our family. 12 family members, ages ranging from 4 months old to 62 yrs. We all loved our week here, its spacious, very comfortable and extremely homely with everything we needed. The gardens are amazing, all children loved the tree swing. We will definitely be returning for the next family celebration. Highly recommend to all.

We have stayed at Tapnell Manor 3 times now in a big group which each year grows a little more as friends marry and have children. Every year we have been well looked after and as the group has grown Tapnell has always been able to accommodate us. The house is so comfortable and welcoming and makes it so easy to relax. The garden is fantastic to explore, the views are stunning, the chickens are generous and the hot tub thoroughly recommended.

The house was brilliant. Spacious & comfortable, well equipped yet not too fussy so we could relax and enjoy ourselves. So much space, the kids had a fabulous time and therefore, so did their parents! Perfect for large groups and families.

This property was a fantastic size but the furniture in the lounge was most uncomfortable. The lighting was very dull especially in the dining room and also the dining room chairs were dangerous as the seats were not secure. The conservatory leaked when it rained. We were also unhappy with the food we ordered in on the first night we thought this would be cooked and served for us but we had to re heat it ourselves and we had to go out and buy rice to go with the chilli con carne which the whole point on having food made for us on the first night was so no one had to rush to get shopping.

I wanted to have a family weekend with my five children and 4 grandchildren. Tapnell Manor was the perfect venue. The Manor is both spacious and welcoming and had every facility that we could reasonably want. Walking around the large and delightfully kept gardens was made the more pleasurable by the fact that we were blessed with 3 days of sunshine. And to be adjacent to a working farm was a real bonus for the little ones - being touching distance from very young calves, watching the cows being milked, feeding the chickens - perfect. All involved with the Tapnell Farm enterprise can be rightly proud of the fact that they have created a great business.
