Enjoy a little luxury in one of our modern Wood Cabins

Light, airy and contemporary, the Wood Cabins are spacious enough to comfortably sleep up to ten guests.

Each modern cabin features an open plan living space, fully fitted kitchen, three bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room. Guests can hire a hot tub from an external company at a surcharge if they wish.

The outside decking area has plenty of seating, a BBQ perfect for watching the sun set over the picturesque countryside vista.

Open 365 days a year, the cabins are fully heated and insulated, meaning you’ll enjoy a cosy stay at any time of the year!

Beautiful wood cabin in a spectacular part of the world. Comfortable and spacious. Surrounded by great beaches, restaurants, fantastic attractions, and great places to visit. I can't wait to go back.

It was lovely and welcoming to have the cabin preheated for our arrival. Thank you for allowing an early check-in and a later departure.

Well-equipped - small detail - suggest table mats to protect wooden table and also a stand/mat for hot things out of the oven.

We really enjoyed our stay, the little details were great and so much was thought of, the location was fab!
I’d just mention a couple of things with the cleanliness, the toilet the bit under and behind the seat, was so dirty I don’t think it had ever been cleaned and so we had to buy some rubber gloves to do it, the bathroom floor likewise wasn’t at all clean, (it was very yellow around the loo) . The kitchen worktops were sticky and dirty, and when the lady came to clean it, she came and wiped it with a dry cloth .
A bit more attention, and some hot soapy water would make this perfect!
Otherwise a really really lovely place to stay!

We had a fantastic time at Tapnell farm. We stayed in a wood cabin as there were a lot of us and it was very comfortable. Clean towels and sheets and the kitchen had everything we needed. The farm itself was brilliant. There was so much to do for the kids. They loved the go karts, mini golf, soft play and seeing all the animals. The older kids loved the aqua park. It looked like a lot of fun, wish I had done it!
The cow restaurant was a great place to eat. Food came out quickly which is what you need when feeding little ones and it was all delicious. Also great cocktails for us grown ups.
There is so much to do at Tapnell, would highly recommend it and will definitely be returning.

This was our fifth year at Tapnell Farm/Tom's Eco Lodge and our third stay in a cabin, sharing with friends. The cabin is a good size for sharing with two families, it has a double room, a twin room and then a third room with two bunk beds plus two bathrooms.

The lounge/kitchen area is large and is fully equipped with all you need and the balcony/terrace is a little sun trap and nicely secluded too if you are looking for a bit of peace. There is a BBQ, fire pit, deckchairs and dining table so if the weather is dry it is perfect.

The onsite pub, The Cow, serves decent food and there is a big outdoor area too and we always make use of the Aqua Park, there is a discount for guests, and also for the archery and other activities.

The only slight downside is that you pay extra for the playbarn, which for the price of the accommodation you would think could be heavily discounted or incorporated into the price for those with kids. I assume it's because they run as two separate businesses maybe?

Anyway, a lovely stay, and even if the weather is wet the Cabin is spacious enough to hide out in.

Having visited Tapnell Farm several times, when we realised they had accommodation on site we really wanted to visit with our friend's family. The Wooden Cabin was plenty big for the 7 of us. The facilities were excellent, and all of the electronic goods were of an excellent quality. The location is wonderful, and having the facilities at Tapnell Farm available for the whole stay was perfect for the kids.

We can't wait to come again.

It was the perfect venue for my 80th birthday. The scenic site was wonderfully relaxing, but provided amenities for all ages :- 8 to 82 in our case. We sampled lots of the facilities : archery, football golf, The Cow, the Aqua Park (not the 80 year olds!) and the fire pit, the barbecue and the hot tub (relished by the younger ones )were put to good use.. One small suggestion - in view of the hotter summers the Wood Cabins would benefit from better fans, especially as the windows need to be kept closed to keep the mozzzies out!

I found the cabin nice. I did think it was a long walk from the car park to the cabin when you have lots of luggage and small tired children. I also think that the stay should have included entry to the farm park. Also we didn’t realise there was no tv. Which for a young family would have been useful to have at times.

I stayed in Lodge 2 this Easter with my four children and elderly mother. It was the perfect place for us - wonderfully equipped cabin and beautiful safe surroundings where the children could run free. My daughters were up crack of dawn each morning to visit the chickens and we made ample use of the facilities at Tapnell Farm. My son is autistic and he felt safe, happy and secure - meaning we could all relax so much more! Thanks so much, we plan to return next year. Helen & family

The cabins are situated a short walk from the car park, cases and kit moved in using the wheelbarrows provided.
The cabin is spacious and kitted out with all the equipment and utensils we needed for the weekend.
The farm is lovely , peaceful and perfect for a long weekend or week away. We had our Springer spaniel with us, she loved the open spaces and walks around the farm.. wasn't sure about the large cows though not having been that close before!
The 'kids' visited the animal farm with goats, alpacas and wallabies and enjoyed that too . Mini golf was also a highlight
Would definitely recommend and will be back next year to explore further.

Four adults, five children aged 3 to 12, and two dogs spent a fabulously sunny long weekend at Tapnells. The Farm park was a great hit and the two older children were thrilled by the Aquapark. Food at the Cow was excellent but mostly we did our own catering in the cabin - with all the equipment and mod cons one could hope for. The office staff and lady in the shop were exceptionally friendly and the whole place was superbly run. We were notified as soon as our accommodation became vacant on arrival, and on the last day, when facilities were closed for the Queen's funeral, we were allowed to stay an extra hour before leaving. We enjoyed autumn swims at nearby beaches and a visit to Newtown Creek Nature Reserve. All the children (including two from Australia) asked when they could come back. We hope to do it again!

This is our second stay in the cabins & our 6th or 7th stay at Tapnell. I was disappointed in the quality of the cabin this visit. It felt ‘used’ with damage from previous guests & generally tired. I really can’t justify the price of the accommodation with the quality this time. I would recommend it because we love Tapnell & it’s location.

What a fabulous stay we had. The accommodation was very clean & tidy upon arrival. The towels folded into elephants and milk in the fridge was a lovely touch. The view of the West Wight was amazing. We enjoyed using the space which was no issue with up to 10 of us. Such a wonderful, relaxing stay in an amazing spot.
I would also like to add how impressed I was with the quick communication via the mobile number I was given if we had any questions.

We’ve just had a really good family stay at Tapnell Farm. Both parents and children (one and three years respectively) loved it! We were thrilled with our cabin, and the farm facilities are just excellent. We paid once for entrance to the farm and went every day, which made it good value.

This was our third stay at Tapnell Farm with children aged 8 and 6. The cabin is very comfortable, spacious and well stocked. Thoughtful touches like milk in the fridge and flowers on the table when you arrive make it feel a bit special. The location is just beautiful - you really do feel like you are away from it all!
Our only gripe, as with our previous visit is the mosquitos. We really didn't expect to have to wear repellant this time of year, but after rain one evening we were all bitten really badly in our beds. At the very least there should be a warning about this - ideally pack your mosquito nets! The other issue we had was the rat that came very boldly up to the front door of the cabin at 4.30 in the afternoon!! I understand it's a farm but this is not the sort of wildlife visitors want to see!! I dread to think what would have happened had the door been ajar....

Wow, I knew this was going to be good but I had no idea just how good it would be. We had visited Tapnell Farm on a previous stay in the Isle of Wight and I decided to book a sporing break in Tom's Eco Lodge. We stayed in a wood cabin with our three young kids and it was simply wonderful. It's hard to describe just how beautiful the view is, everything in the cabin felt luxurious and welcoming - from the tasty biscuits to the well made-up rooms - and the cabin had everything we needed from soap to washing liquid to plenty of towels and even a kit to light fires. We enjoyed using the firepit to toast marshmallows, and found the farm shop to be filled with loads of great eco essentials as well as some delicious treats and fresh coffee. The area had a festival vibe, but also felt very private. If I could afford to go every week, I would! It was amazing, and I would recommend to those with families as well we those looking for a peaceful break (the cabins are not too close together so everyone gets a decent level of privacy). Thank you for an amazing stay.

What a wonderful way to spend some quality time with the family in such a scenic location.
A superbly equipped cabin with welcome treats greeted us on an arrival and there were even fluffy white towels folded into elephants on the beds.
We couldn’t fault the location and the children adored making use of the farm during the weekend. The staff made us feel very welcome and we shall definitely be returning soon.



Just a wonderful place to stay. The cabin was huge would happily live there!!

We have stayed once before and loved it, this time we stayed in one of the cabins and it was wonderful. Huge space and kitchen, would happily live there! Great view and big deck. All the staff at Tapnell are lovely and couldn't be more helpful. The children love the play area and the Christmas Experience was just brilliant, a great start to Christmas. Will be back soon.

Such a beautiful spot and the cabin was so well equipped. So much to do on site and nearby. It’s all very well maintained and organised. The hedges were very high up when we visited due to the time in the season (birds nesting) but we look forward to returning another time when we can enjoy the views from the cabin. Thanks for making our son’s 4th birthday so special.

The cabin is really big and bright and airy with lovely views in the double and twin room. There is plenty of room for two families to share as one bedroom has two sets of bunk beds. There are also two bathrooms which is handy (although the fittings in the bathrooms needed looking at with a dodgy flushing loo, a leaking loo in the other bathroom and a tap which had seen better days on one of the sinks)

The kitchen/living area is very spacious and there is lots of storage space if you are cooking in the cabin plus tons of cutlery, crockery, pans etc. The decking area outside is spacious and a sun trap if you are lucky enough for the sun to shine.

The Cow on site is a good choice for a lunch or dinner and there is a communal pizza oven and separate BBQ's for each accommodation.

The farm park is great for children but it does feel a bit of a rip off having to pay extra once on site for your child to use the farm park during your stay as the cost of the accommodation isn't particularly cheap. I'd much prefer at least a discounted rate when you book the accommodation which you sort out before arriving so you don't need to mess around when you are there as if you visit with more than one family it can get confusing for the staff at the farm park knowing who has already paid and who hasn't.

The Aqua Park is fantastic and definitely worth booking during your stay as it's the only one on the island so gets booked up. And the football golf was good fun on our last day too. Having the games room separate to The Cow also works much better.

This was our third visit to Tapnell and we are already booked in for a fourth.

We loved returning to Toms eco lodge for a third time, this time in a wood cabin - It was excellent! Hiring a hot tub made the break even better as the weather wasn’t great and it meant we could spend time outside even on cold evenings. As always the farm was great for our kids- a few changes make it even better for under 5s

We miss being able to collect eggs from the hens but understand this might have ended due to covid- still managed to get some foc from the farm shop though. Meals at the Cow were once again great-
Next time we’d like to try a safari tent but can’t see any availability for next July/ august already- it’s popular for a reason!
My only recommendation is to bring earplugs if a storm is forecast overnight!

The farm and everything else at Tapnell is top notch. You can’t beat it for a stay away with young kids. The only thing that let it down was how hot the wood cabin got. Fans are provided but they do little to cool the rooms. It was uncomfortably hot and difficult to sleep, especially for the kids. They should really invest in some better, safer fans (such as large Dyson units).

A return third visit for us in early May. A lovely setting and exceptionally helpful staff facilitating our stay. We had a great time , staying in a log cabin again , and hiring a hot tub , which was a great hit with grandad and the grandkids.

The farm park has evolved since our last stay and is more structured than our last stay, losing just a bit of its’ simplicity. But we understand the necessity of this as I am sure visitor numbers are now large in the full season.

Covid has also had its’ impact on the park, we were grateful some parts of the park were open to us, albeit time limited to 10-4 pm , which was tricky.

Our kids wanted to do the wallaby walkabout at 11am and 3pm , which limited our ability to get out and about on the Island. The additional charge for the farm park - we felt this was unnecessary considering the access, attractions available and empty paddocks ! But the kids loved it nonetheless. Our kids were sad that on our last day, some other children were allowed to be in the barn playing whilst they were outside. They were too young to understand that they may have been children associated with the staff / owners!

We will be back in September as the children are keen , this time in a modulog. Hoping that all restrictions are gone by then, but who knows - we will enjoy it whatever !

PS - any chance of making the dining table , benches and chairs in the cabin less creaky and wobbly - they were safe but noisy !

This is our second stay at Tapnell, and first in a wood cabin. All perfectly thought out and well organised. We love it here and find it so peaceful and relaxing. This was the first time coming with our dog and all the stress of that was ours alone as she was so welcome.

Thankfully, for us, the covid theatre was pretty minimal. That doesn’t mean they don’t do all that is required, but it wasn’t in your face, which is a relief.

Looking forward to going back next year!

Tapnell farm is a fantastic place to take your family on holiday, it has something for everyone including a farm, views, Aqua park and an amazing restaurant etc
The cabins were very comfortable and well equipped for that home from home feeling.
My only complaint is the floor wasn’t cleaned properly as there were hairs in the kitchen area and the fridge had a few bits of mould inside on the back. Also the fridge needs updating especially as you are paying top price.
Despite this our overall stay was very enjoyable! I suggest a vacuum, mop etc would be good to clean up after yourself during your stay. I would definitely recommend to friends.

We had the best time at Tapnell Farm. Our kids are 3 and 1 and they loved every minute. The cabin is great. Well kitted out, comfy, cosy and warm. We will be back again!

Amazing stay at cabin 2, welcomed to a warm cosy cabin with a lovely Christmas hamper(part of our booking) lovely Christmassy bits making the December feel... the place was spotless and has every essential you need... overlooks stunning views with incredible sunsets... had the most relaxing sleep.. very quiet and Peaceful atmosphere... 100% recommend and will be visiting again

enjoyable stay , made use of the bbq and fire pit. Also had a takeaway burger meal from The Cow restaurant which was very tasty.

We stayed here as a family of five with older children (2x teens& a 20 year old) and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We are not natural campers but fancied an outdoor-sy break so we chose one of the wood cabins. The cabin was immaculate and as a cautious family in these covid-aware times it was extremely reassuring that Tapnell farm are taking this aspect very seriously. Well-equipped with a lovely deck with a bbq that we used nearly every night. While we didnt use the play park as my children were older, I can see why this aspect of the farm would be amazing for families with little ones. The location is top notch, absolutely stunning with beautiful views and lovely walks right from the site. The restaurant was an added bonus as it meant we could have a couple of gin and tonics before supper without having to get in the car. The staff cannot do enough for you and are so helpful- when we asked to have a few extra fans as it was quite warm in the evenings brand new ones were produced the very next day. We will definitely be back perhaps even to brave a safari tent as they look so cosy!

First class glamping retreat. The cabins were pristine and very roomy even for eight of us. And the burgers at The Cow were the best I’ve ever eaten! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, especially with last minute travel requests.
Thank you Tapnell Farm, we loved our stay.

Enjoyed everything about our stay.

We stayed in Cabin Two and hired in a hot tub (highly recommended). The location was wonderfully rural yet nicely presented.
Lots of interesting animals to see at the farm. Also, a great restaurant serving delicious burgers, steaks and pie.
Tapnell is a great place to explore the beautiful west wight. Lots of local walks and bike rides to great pubs and cafes.
A must visit.

I have to say my family and I had the most wonderful stay at Tapnell Farm in Cabin 2 we hired a hot tub that was thoroughly enjoyed ...particularly by my grandchildren. The location was truly magical and the daily morning collection of eggs was very special. I would highly recommend Tapnell Farm.However I think for selfish reasons I want to keep it a secret........

A lovely cabin on the quieter side of the island. A good base for younger families with the playbarn, animals and jumping pillow. Families with older kids well-catered for too with the adventure activity company on site. Our kids enjoyed collecting the eggs from the chickens every morning. The honesty shop was handy for bits and bobs too. It would have been nice to have had a TV for the evening, but easy to survive without one!



Extremely enjoyable stay...can't wait to visit again in the sunshine next time!

Fantastic weekend stay in the log cabin. Beautiful scenery, very cosy and comfortable accommodation. We were unlucky with the weather but the delicious food and drinks at the Cow Co restaurant and bar more than made up for it! Great to collect your own freshly laid eggs for breakfast from Henrietta and her friends in the morning too!! Looking forward to a stay in the summer as the only thing missing on this stay was a BBQ and a pimms or two in the sunshine!

Just returned from 4 night stay at Tom's Eco Lodge. Amazing set up, and very child friendly, lots to do on site when not exploring the island and had a really excellent meal at the restaurant on site. Used a wheel barrow to cart our belongings along a path to our lodge, which exceeded our expectations in almost every department. Little one was able to collect fresh eggs from the hen house in the mornings, which he had great fun 'helping' mummy cook after. Just as described on their web site! My hubby only does 5 star hotels, but he thoroughly enjoyed himself. All the essentials that you need and more are supplied and Tom, Chloe and the team were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. My only negative was the size of the double bed, very snug with two people in it, but super comfy so despite the fact that we had a choice of beds (8berth) we snuggled up and enjoyed a much needed tranquil break. Little touches like bunting, fairy lights, rocking chairs on the verandah made watching the beautiful sunsets extra special.

Initially we looked at glamping for two families but with five children aged three and under Tom's Eco Lodge cabins looked like a better option. We weren't disappointed. Overall, the cabin was nicely set up and well equipped and we all loved the cosy feel of it. One of the cabin's selling points for us (compared to the tents) was that it had two bathrooms, since we were two families sharing. The bedrooms weren't big but they were comfortable and could probably have done with some drawers. We were a bit removed from the other tents so it was quiet and we had a lovely landscape view from the deck, while the bbq was on the go... Of course, the key to the adults having a good holiday is keeping the children happy and with the incorporated play area it was job done. In fairness, most of the play area was under utilised as all the children wanted to do was play on the awesome jumping pillow. There were many other things that made our stay so special that I could go on and on. Ultimately a wonderful time was had by all and the staff were helpful and friendly throughout. If we go back to the Isle of Wight then Tom's Eco Lodge will be the first place that we look for accommodation.

Too good on every level. Weather was great. Always love a sunny Isle of Wight. Seriously impressed with Tapnel farm and by the sounds of it lots more to come from them. Oh and the cow co restaurant started there new Autumn menu the weekend we stayed. Amazing tongue pie and cheek something. Great idea!!!

A fabulous little spot on the IOW. There isnt anything that hasnt been thought of. We truly enjoyed our stay for a girly weekend away but I will definately be back with my hubby and little one. Thanks for making our stay so great!

We had a fantastic stay at Tapnell Farm. The cabin far exceeded our expectations. The accommodation itself was of a very high standard and the views were stunning. Our children loved collecting eggs from the chickens and really enjoyed the play barn which had a climbing wall, zip wire and jumping pillow. We ate in the restaurant twice. The food was delicious, although the service was quite slow. We had a fabulous holiday and would definitely recommend Tapnell Farm, and hope to go back next year.

We absolutely loved our stay at tapnall. Perfect location for us with our 4 & 5 yo children. From the swings in the woods to the chickens and play barn. You could spend lots of time just on the farm, relaxing. We arrived and the directions to the cabin were simple and well-signposted. There are carts and wheelbarrows to move your belonging down to the cabin which was fun. We had a campfire for marshmallows and the children loved it, another highlight was seeing the hens every day. The cabin was very comfortable and well-stocked with cooking utensils and plenty of towels and comfy beds. For us it was great there are two bathrooms and you could have an amazing shower or bath. There were two bunk beds which the children loved sleeping on and the twin room was our 'day bedroom' the views were great and we loved it. The weather was very windy and drizzly at times and we were happy to be in a warm, dry cabin! When the weather cheered up it was a joy to sit on the terrace and take in the view. Couldn't fault it.

The cabin was only in its second week of rental, and it still needed some finishing touches - some furniture was missing, door handles came off, and other doors didn't shut properly. It was a bit tricky to find the cabins at first (signposting still to come I guess), but we got there in the end.

However, notwithstanding these minor issues, the cabins are a great idea - warm, hot water on tap, and a well appointed kitchen. The views from the deck are fabulous, and there's a gas barbecue for outdoor cooking. The gardens of the manor are lovely for an evening stroll, and once the cabins have bedded into their surroundings, it will be lovely up there too.

We had a warm welcome by phone before we arrived, and there was a lovely hamper of goodies to welcome us, along with someone to show us the cabin and make sure we had enough bedding.

We had an amazing time while staying in the North Cabin over the recent May bank holiday. It was exceptionally clean, warm and with all the necessary facilities. The outside area, for the sole use of the cabin, offered spectacular views as well as a great area to barbeque and for the kids to play. The kids also absolutely loved playing around the farm and meeting the chickens and lambs! Will definitely come back soon.
