Ardenlea is very well renovated cottage in the village of Bourton-on-the-Water. Just a 5-10 minute stroll into the centre of the Venice of the Cotswolds with all the tea shops, cafes, miniature model village, Birdland and the famous River Windrush with all the low stone bridges.

The cottage was lovely and the location was ideal. We did have some difficulty communicating with our host. That may have been our fault, it was difficult to tell.

Beautiful cottage, although it lacks some basic essentials.

Very beautiful and in a quite location. Private parking was an asset. With some extra touches in the bathroom, it will be perfect.
No shampoo or shower gel was provided. Only 1 towel per person.
Only 3 rolls of toilet paper for a 5 night stay.
Only 3 dishwasher tablets.
Check in is at 4.30 which is quite late. We arrived at 4.10 and the cleaner was still there.
No coffee machine, although in other websites it appears on the kitchen cupboards.
Washing machine, out of order.
Freezer full of ice. It needs some cleaning.

However, the cottage is very nice and very well kept. I recommend it, but make sure to bring with you the missing essentials.

Ideal, near village, location to save on taking the car in:close to supermarket and restaurants, cafes etc: clean and comfy with good shower and beds. We stayed for 4 nights and would have been quite happy to stay longer.

We had a very enjoyable, and comfortable three night stay at Ardenlea. The property is in a very good location, and central to Bourton on the Water. The property was clean, and located in a very quiet residential area. Would definitely return in the future.

Ardenlea is a lovely bungalow situated on a quiet cul de sac, 5mins walk from the centre of Bourton-on-the-water. The bungalow was exceptionally clean and had everything you need, including washing machine, iron/board, hairdryer etc. The beds were also very comfortable. It felt very homely
Communication was also good we recievedquick responses and informationon how to find the bungalow. We would definitely stay again or would recommend as Adenlea is situated in the perfectly for visiting other areas of interest in the Cotswolds.

A comfortable stay and ideal location for easy access to Bourton. The house is well kept to a good standard.

The only drawback is the lack of a dishwasher - which most people would expect in a home let.

The house was quite small. The house appeared to have not been let this year and when entering was a bit smelly probable due to the shower U-bend drying out. Apart from underfloor periodic heating there is no other heating in the bathroom very necessary in March/April. Water from the basin taps needed constant mopping up. The kitchen was worse.
The kitchen lacked basic cleaning materials. EG bleach, kitchen foil Kitchen paper rolls, only two toilet rolls in total for the week!
There was no washing-up powder etc for the washing machine and no place to dry clothes. Cloths-horse?

The boiler is situated in the large bedroom wardrobe and was noisy at night and reduced the space in the wardrobe! not enough room for two grown ups. Similarly in the small bedroom the wardrobe was not big enough to contain two peoples clothes. There is only about a foot between the double bed and the walls two kids maybe two adults very "iffy"

In my view the owners of this property need to live in it themselves for a week and discover the many irritating issues that a customer would or might find.

Would I recommend this place : not in it's present layout etc.
