Sabine House is a large, historic family home on the cobbled quayside of Bayard’s Cove. This 18th-century Grade II-listed merchant’s house is a firm favourite with families and groups, its history reflected in the furnishings and original features, like the ornamental fireplaces. With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, this home’s packed with character. The front-facing rooms offer stunning river views towards Kingswear and out to sea, with Dartmouth's amenities all within level walking distance.

Excellent location. Tired old house. Ugly furniture. Bathrooms dreadful. Not very clean. Depressing.

Big Georgian house, lots of space but needs a lot of TLC. Dreadful bathrooms. Not bad bedrooms. Excellent location. Good job it was sunny as house very depressing.
Not enough crockery and glasses for 8 people. Hard to recommend it in spite of the location.

A lovely property in an absolutely fantastic location. Overall it is a fantastic house with plenty of space for a large family and an absolutely wonderful location.

For the price it feels a little tired some of the fixtures and fittings and furniture feels rather like it could be due an update. The kitchen could be good but the things provided are a bit of a random selection so can be difficult to cook a full meal for a large family and only enough mugs for one cup of tea each.

Amazing location but house needs a bit of work to bring up to standard. Beds not great to be honest and plumbing is a bit dodgy ! This said the location makes this house hard to beat!

Our second time in Sabine House and as comfortable as ever. A great location anf very convenient. The only niggle was the lack of basics when we arrived eg. Not enough loo rolls and no washing up liquid at all. We understand that welcome packs cost money but a small bottle of milk would have been appreciated to have a cup of tea on arrival. The Champagne, however, was much appreciated. Another great stay though.

Sabine House is in one of the best locations in Dartmouth. House was comfy warm and kitchen had all I needed to cook Christmas dinner utensils wise.
Plenty of space for our family of 5.
Great Wi-Fi which kept the younger members of the family happy.
The view is amazing. Only down side we had to come home.

Fantastic property and location. Obviously a very old house and full of character. Overall tidy but most of the group found beds abit uncomfortable, maybe old mattresses need replacing. Few more non stick frying pans needed. Nine of clock checkout I thought was a bit unreasonable. Overall great stay and would definitely go back.

Everyone had a most enjoyable holiday at Sabine House and look forward to a return visit in 2021. The weather was not as good as last year, sunny every day. But we were very fortunate that it only rained a couple of days - but not all day.

The children love Dartmouth as much as their mother did when she was a child. We all have wonderful memories of Dartmouth and the surrounding area.

The house is in such a wonderful position, not far to the cliffs, car ferry, able to go crabbing out side , sit and enjoy the scenery without having to go far, walk into town easily for any shopping. An excellent position for a family holiday.

Only real comment is that the electric showers were not very hot despite being turned up to max and the hot water in the bath was very slow to fill.

It would be great if you could improve or replace the bath / taps in the family bathroom as it takes a really long time to fill!

Our stay was great. Spent all week jumping on and off boats - didn’t use the car once. Only one bedroom and the sitting and dining rooms have a sea view. But what a view!

Fantastic location.
Very spacious listed property.
This property requires a lot of updating.
We will be looking to find a property for next year that has been more cared for and up to date with todays basic standards.
We are a family of eight with four adults and four children and we do expect the same standards to what we are use to on a daily basis which is not what we had at this property.
It is a shame that a fantastic property is not being cared for.

Great house, in a fantastic location with wonderful views and very convenient for shops, pubs and restaurants. A few minor tweaks in the house would be good including the central courtyard.

Sabine house is on the Dart estuary in prime location at Bayards Cove. It is an excellent location for exploring Dartmouth an the ferry across to Kingswear. The house itself is well decorated with fantastic views over the estuary.
The only niggle we had was the inventory needs to be checked as in a house for eight people there were only 6 forks, 4 wine glasses and knives that would struggle to cut butter although there were a couple of large sharp knives. The smoke alarm chirped all week and needed a new battery which should be regularly checked by the cleaner/maintenance.
Overall the property is fabulous and would definitely stay here again.
Bayards Cove is an excellent place to eat and drink, the staff are good but you need to book. I would recommend getting a book of ferry tickets for the car as it works out much much cheaper if you go over more than 2 times.
There were crab dipping buckets by the front door so no need to buy/bring them.

We used Sabine House for our Golden wedding, taking our daughters and Grand Children, nine of us in total, there was lots of room, and the children enjoyed playing hide and seek. The location was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would love to stay again in the future.
