We had a fabulous week here during Dartmouth regatta. It is a beautiful airy spacious house which is well equipped and in gorgeous gardens. We loved it.
Fantastic, comfortable property, well equiped. It's great position to see beautiful countryside and down to the Dart River. A bit scary on the road in and out as it's quite narrow, but well worth it!! A great place to relax and unwind. Pleasant village and walks round about.
Street door & communal hall & staircase is a bit shabby but don't be put off, as the flat itself is great. IT was clean & in good order with everthing you could ask for incuding things we have not found in other holiday lets, even down to boxes of tissues in each bedroom & living room. The Kitchen was vey well equipped (including a washing machine). The beds were very comfortable with good quality duvets & pillows. Fresh milk in frige & chocolate biscuits a nice touch. The minor niggle is that it is above the rear of the Dartmouth Yacht club & some times we heard voices & bottles being tipped...more
We really enjoyed our stay in Swilly Barn and thought the property is very well equipped and in a great location for touring the local area by car. The owners were very very friendly, welcoming and helpful and were on hand if needed which was reassuring. Thank you for letting use your cottage for our holiday. Adrian & Sue - Cambridge
We had a great stay at this lovely cottage. Had everything you could need. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely house in a great setting in Dartmouth stairs are quite steep and could do with tv update,no smart tv available and washer dryer needs replacing also as door is faulty but overall an enjoyable experience
What a special house, and what a wonderful view! The open plan downstairs area and the incredible garden and view, such a wonderful property and super special garden - a real pleasure to stay there.
Stayed with Dart Valley for many years and always been Impressed by the local knowledge and organisation. First time at November as it is a new cottage to them. the info about the parking needs updating as all the spaces on the left are allocated. Cottage very bright and light - cream carpets not ideal but at least there is a dog friendly area. I bit too minimalist for us but that is personal taste. Problems with the central heating boiler which failed to come on. Good service from the company but they couldn't solve the problem. Engineers came out on the Monday and replaced a part and there w...more
We have recently returned from a delightful stay at Windjammer . The apartment more than lived up to the photos and description, in both the brochure and website. It is a lovely spacious apartment, very comfortable, with fabulous views. It feels like a home to live in not just a holiday 'let'. We would certainly be happy to return and are happy to recommend it, plus it has the advantage of being in a very beautiful part of the country. Marica and Robbie Pilkington
We created wonderful memories at Ritson Farm with 3 generations and a dog! It was very comfortable and perfect for a large family. Location was great - close enough to towns and the coast. Facilities were excellent. It had everything any family could possibly need, including a boules set for the garden and a dog kit for your four legged friend!
We stayed at thsi cottage the third year in a row with our kids. We loved it, like always. We are looking forward to return as soon as possible.
We had a wonderful family holiday at this property. It is furnished to a high standard with unforgettable views over the estuary. Very comfortable throughout and would happily recommend this property to others.
Dittisham is idyllic and the cottage is in a prime position on the quayfront. Very comfortable although we had to supplement the glasses and cutlery with purchases . The location and stairs would not suit those with mobility issues as the car must be parked far away and the stairs are steep but it was fine for us as we abandoned the car for a week and traveled around on the numerous ferries up and down the Dart and ate at the excellent nearby Anchorstone Cafe ( fish restaurant) . Our second trip and we have booked again for next year.
We had the most perfect stay at The Garden Cottage - it really was like being home from home comfort-wise, and beautifully presented and appointed throughout. The main bedroom on the 2nd floor was a particular highlight with wonderful views across the Dart River to Kingswear, as was the garden itself, which was remarkably private and sheltered, with several places to sit and relax. The living room was very comfortable and the internet TV and fast broadband speed were greatly appreciated by our two daughters (16 & 11). With a 5 minute walk down the (very steep) Crowther’s Hill to the town...more
This apartment was stunning ,beautiful views of dart river from bedroom ,very quite with its own off road parking space The owner was staying in middle meadow next door and made us feel at home well furnished nice size bathroom And a quality bedroom there is a back entrance on to road which leads to red lion hotel with food supplies and a post office We took both our dogs with us who loved the holiday they were in the water everyday thank you to dart valley and John O the owner for our stay
It would be hard to find anything but praise for this beautiful cottage with stunning views. The decor and quality of the equipment was probably the best in our experience and would be difficult to beat.Dittisham is in an area of outstanding natural beauty but you do need to be reasonably mobile to achieve maximum enjoyment from this holiday.
We were a family of 6, 4 adults and two children (7 and 10 years). We arrived in Dittisham in two cars within minutes of each other, even though we started from different locations! Great to have 2 good parking places, and WOW, what a fantastic view greeted us, a pretty cottage looking down on the river Dart. Opening the front door was another WOW, a huge lounge and dining room with 3 large sofas, and large dining table, with grand decorations...Another small cosy lounge , and a large kitchen diner on the first floor. We used 3 bedrooms all clean, and two with good bathroom facilities. ...more
We spent the August Bank holiday week with our young grand children and their parents at Lower House, West. Immediately, we felt comfortable...that is once we'd fought our way through the permanent crowd outside and in the Pigs Nose pub around the corner. Our house is part of the old farm complex and, despite the activities around the pub, it was quiet. Immediate access to paths through fields with blackberries galore down to the stony beach 15 minutes away. Plenty of space downstairs with small, gated, front garden. Good kitchen seating, a large well equipped kitchen for those wishing to ...more
The property perfectly suited our needs for a peaceful tranquil break. However the instructions on finding the car parking space and key to house left a lot to be desired. Also the steepness of the house street was understated. Only reasonably fit guests should stay as the stairs are exceptionally steep and it is a long way from the car park.
Great cottage and great location, the only issue is it is tricky with the parking just need to be aware beforehand.
Although our stay in Clarence Hill as far as accommodation is concerned was exemplary, Dartmouth from s parking point of view is appalling and so expensive. It cost us over £100 for the week and was s constant concern and interrupted our holiday as we were constantly clock watching. We have been holidaying In Dartmouth for 35 years but will now have to reconsider. The council will lose revenue and shops/businesses will suffer long term and Dartmouth will become yet another ghost-town.
We had a wonderful short break at Below Decks in Kingswear. This property is very spacious and comfortable, in a very peaceful location with lovely views over the creek and towards the River Dart and Dartmouth. Just a 10 minute walk with stunning views (maybe 15 mins on the way back as its uphill!) down to the steam railway station and ferry crossing over to Dartmouth. Worth trying out the home cooked pizzas at the Steam Packet Inn just down the hill as these are delicious!
Shippon End is in a great location. It is v central in Dittisham. Great river views from the top of the communal garden. We enjoyed our stay there and would visit again.
Had a great week at Ollie's Cottage and enjoyed the peaceful location. Would have no issue with booking this cottage again.
We have just enjoyed another relaxing stay in beautiful Dittisham, The accommodation is in a peaceful setting with beautiful views of the River Dart, the accommodation is clean and comfortable with everything provided for a relaxing holiday, if I had one request it would be for some subdued lighting in the lounge area. This was our second stay in Riverview and we have every intention of returning again and would not hesitate to recommend it.
All in all a good stay. Cottage very clean and well equipped. Back garden and decked area needed tidying and maintenance.Location challenging by car, very steep, narrow and parking extremely difficult. Would have appreciated more information on this prior to arrival. However we did have a relaxing time.
We had a fantastic stay at Hawke cottage. The cottage is very homely and my children in particular settled in very quickly. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen is very well stocked. Location wise it is brilliant especially being in the grounds of the hotel. Beautiful Dartmouth is only a 5 minute drive down the road and there was no shortage of wonderful places to visit. We shall most definitely be back!
Dittisham as ever remains a very special place, having visited it about 12 times, normally in this cottage. Disappointed this year by the lack of basics... no salt, no pepper, one toilet roll between two toilets.... However, I can still recommend this cottage. Great position, easy and comfortable to get on with and has everything you need for an enjoyable break
A nice cottage in a difficult position. Any one with a large car would find it very hard going to park. Steep hill to get out to the Shop/P.O/Pub. You need to be reasonably fit to stay here.
Excellent apartment with outstanding views of the river and harbour. Just a couple of minor niggles, would have liked a shaving light and shelf over our bathroom sink and one of the double glazed windows in the lounge was slightly misted. But would recommend this apartment without hesitation to friends, family or anyone else looking for a place to stay in Dartmouth!
The cottage is fantastically located and very well appointed and comfortable for its size, but the overriding smell of damp on arrival was quite overpowering, especially upstairs. Open windows, an air freshener, and acclimatization helped but a few constant, neutral plug-ins may be useful. The other small grizzle was the shower which, for whatever reason, would only dispense freezing cold or scalding hot water, no matter what we tried. Brilliant to have the Marina car park so close by too - and to me, this made staying in Kingswear so much better than Dartmouth, especially as Kingswear is so q...more
A stunningly located cottage with beautiful views of the Dart. You can simply watch the comings and goings on the river from the comfortable interior or stroll down through beautifully maintained gardens to access the estuary shore and walk to the quay. This is a perfect place to escape to for peace, tranquility and lovely country walks.
Excellent location and great cottage, no frills but perfect for a family holiday. Nothing beats the view from the cottage.
This was a nice ground floor apartment for two with good facilities and beautiful views from the dining table across the Dart estuary. A free car parking pass was provided for parking on the public car park in the centre of Dartmouth. We just left the car there most of the week and used ferries, steam train and bus for seeing the area.
The photos of this property make it seem light and airy with a lovely garden, however it is quite dark with the only really light room being the dining room. The garden is in need of some TLC which meant it was less appealling to use. We did however enjoy staying in Dartmouth and the easy access to the town and river was excellent.
This was a very attractive property - updated and renovated to a high standard. Only negative was there was no BBQ or none that we could find Otherwise everything was wonderful. We would rent again
The fact that the garden is not adjacent to the property meant that we didn't use it . The steps up are quite steep for older or infirm people. The property itself was comfortable and clean and everything worked.
My family stayed in Hill Top View, in the month of August 2019. The property is a good size for our family of five. The property was clean on arrival and Dart Valley left us to our holiday with a welocome E-mail if we required any assistance. The Property: Overall very satisfied and would definitely return. Very spacious, a little dated but this didnt bother us one bit, we live in quite a modern home. The property consists of oak flooring thoughout the living, dining and hall. It's a pity no felt pads have been used on the furniture as the flooring was quite scratched, but again it didnt...more
If anyone is looking for that really peaceful holiday in order to get away from it all, then this property and location is superb. A picnic down on the Dittisham green overlooking the estuary is recommended, with toilet facilities to boot. Should anyone wish to venture out from here, then Blackpool and Slapton sands with great cafe's are not far away. We've been here before and will be back again.
This was our third stay at Stella Maris and we enjoyed a comfortable and pleasant. It is apparent that the cottage is a home and touches such as a well stocked kitchen and lots of dvds and books for us and the children are very appreciated.
A comfortable and spacious house in a great location. Good views over Dartmouth. We enjoyed the use of the outdoor pool. It was a bonus to find it was heated.
Comfortable home from home house in very convenient position just a few minutes walk from town centre. Having parking available is a plus but we found the garage narrow for VW Golf, a larger car would be a struggle to park & be able to open the door. Plenty to do in Dartmouth & on the water so we parked up & managed without car for most of the week. Enjoyable week , sun every day.
This was our third stay in Spindlewood and we'll come again. It has good accommodation for 6 and a well equipped kitchen. The view is lovely and the veranda in front is perfect. It's in a great location and has good parking. A few minutes away is The Red Lion quirky gem of a pub/shop/post office. The friendly owners stock fresh bread, milk, newspapers and a surprising range of food. The family think it would be nice if the area behind the hedge in the back garden was opened up to give an additional playing space.
Accommodation lived up to photos. We made good use of the balcony to enjoy the stunning view of Dartmouth/Kingswear. Everything provided for a comfortable holiday.
Had a lovely time at Herons Reach. One slight negative it would have been nice to have a small table and chairs outside but had a lovely time thanks and spotlessly clean.
Fantastic location. Very spacious listed property. This property requires a lot of updating. We will be looking to find a property for next year that has been more cared for and up to date with todays basic standards. We are a family of eight with four adults and four children and we do expect the same standards to what we are use to on a daily basis which is not what we had at this property. It is a shame that a fantastic property is not being cared for.
A big shame that it has not been cleaned prior to our arrival. Floors were dirty and we had to sweep them. Otherwise everything was great in this house. Beautiful views. Very comfortable
Once you've come to terms with the steep hill just relax and enjoy your holiday. Leave the car in the top car park (about £25 for a week) for as many initial days as you can before exploring out and about. Take just a few steps to the local ferries to the other side of the water or a return to lovely Dartmouth for a day trip. Visit the two local National Trust houses, Totnes and Torquay which is up and coming. The nearest pub (Ferry Boat Inn) is just a few steps away and offers good value meals and drinks and the Anchor Stone sea food cafe is just opposite the pub. We occasionally sat outside ...more
Pleasant quiet cottage with comfortable beds and new kitchen+bathroom. Downstairs loo and extra shower in master also useful. On the minus side no hanging space in master and sofas rather uncomfortable. You also need to be pretty fit to manage the walk up from the river - we were ok with it so enjoyed travelling to Dartmouth and Greenway by boat and visiting anchorstone cafe for seafood.
Enjoyed a great week in Dartmouth after several years holidaying elsewhere in the UK and abroad. We have stayed in Dartmouth before, but not in such a central location with easy access (albeit 113 steps) to the town. The reward for this climb were the fantastic views from this upside down property. We could have spent many hours watching the movement of boats on the river, the crossing of both the lower and passenger ferries, and just enjoying the vista. The property is well equipped and functional, although only one toilet in the bathroom could have been more problematic. Access between two ...more
Location fantastic, couldn't be better - lovely views across to Kingswear. Terraced area has a great view, although it should be noted it is above the property and a short walk up path and steps which make it feel slightly less private. The double beds were very comfy. The basement is very damp and smells so and luckily we did not need to use the 3rd bedroom. The adjacent 2 properties front doors are right next to the master bedroom window and quite noisy at night as the windows are not double glazed. The loud and extended seagull chorus right outside at 4am needs earplugs if you want a nigh...more
Covers on sofas didn't fit .......................................................................................................................................
We had an enjoyable stay at Barton cottage but there are a few details that need attending to. The cottage smelt musty downstairs and in the bathroom. Some of the light bulbs were not working and the lighting in the kitchen and hall is inadequate. The gate is falling off which is not very good with dogs staying as not secure. The tap in the bathroom is loose and turns on the wrong way. These are all things that have been commented on by other guests very recently and in the past but not rectified. Otherwise a pretty cottage in a good location.
Broken kitchen window, Bedding very poor quality ,needs new pillows & bedding . No back garden to let your dog out. No personal touch as we have always received from staying in all other properties.
Very comfortable and well appointed , Beautiful grounds and lovely view. We did find that there were no wine glasses Very dog friendly and we felt very comfortable with them in the house
