We very much enjoyed our stay at 2 Riverside Wharf . The flat is ideal for two people and we very much liked the decoration and equipment in the flat . It was clear that care had been taken in the presentation of the flat and , although a small thing, we really liked the artwork at the property. Parking at the marina was convenient and we had been made aware previously of the cost so that was fine. The location was good with access to lots of very local walks and a short hop to the lower ferry for trips to Dartmouth. Although not flat related we liked Kingswear , it being quieter and sunn...more
Beautiful cottage in a fabulous location. We had a wonderful week. Thank you. We would definitely like to come back.
An ideal location for a holiday in Dartmouth with great uninterrupted views of the River Dart from the property; within easy walking distance of the town centre.
We stayed in Dartmouth for our sons pass out ceremony at BRNC, so we’re delighted at the location of the house as it is just opposite the college gates. The house was better than we expected from the website pictures. Clean, warm, tidy, great Tv and Wi-Fi with excellent touches like wine in the fridge. We would recommend to anyone and hope to stay again when we next visit.
There were two of us and the cottage was great. It sleeps 4 but with 4 adults the living space could be a bit crowded. Everything we needed was there and we enjoyed our stay. We were pre warned about some building work on the cottage next door and as promised it did not disturb us.
This was our second stay at Ritson Farm. Walking back through the door was a joy, especially when greeted with fresh flowers, eggs and a basket of home grown fruit and vegetables. The large kitchen-diner is perfect for a big family group, although you do have to be comfortable cooking on a Rayburn. Bedrooms are very well appointed and comfortable, and the large lounge with a selection of comfy chairs and sofas is fantastic. Added this year was a garden room in place of the old conservatory and this was a lovely improvement, with views over the flower-filled garden. But my favourite thing about...more
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our only comment would be that getting into the parking space without running over the parking space bollard was very difficult owing to the narrowness of the road. It would have been helpful to be able to remove it completely as you could do with the others which were nearby. However the position of the property was great and we had perfect weather .
Great stay .. easy walk to ferry/steam train .. beautiful scenery/ view out of most windows .. definitely return!!
We had enjoyed a lovely long weekend at UpHigh, and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone and stay here again next time we visit Dartmouth. The house has the most spectacular view across the estuary and the house itself was immaculate upon arrival and very comfortable for everyone. Unfortunately we could not locate the gas bottle for the BBQ which would have been great to enjoy a BBQ with the fabulous view. However this didn't dampen our spirits as it gave us the opportunity to explore a number of fine restaurants and pubs in town. Looking forward to our next visit...hopefully sooner than la...more
Curlew Cottage is a fantastic and relaxing location. The view from the garden is so tranquil and ever changing with the tides. The cottage is very well equipped and well presented to provide a relaxing stay.
Stopped many times so pleased. In the winter nights would be good idea to change outside lighting to lights that activate save leaving outside lights on . One real improvement pls move key safe to below outside light by door at higher level so difficult to bend and see !
we enjoyed our stay in De Courcey house We had everything we could wish for to make our week in Dartmouth perfect Well worth a re visit
This was a brilliant cottage and what a location, right in the centre of town with great access to all Dartmouth has to offer, with easy free parking for one vehicle. The property was lovely and clean and the heating was on demand throughout which was great. Great communications throughout from the Dart Valley Cottages Team. My only one observation would be the need for some new crockery, but now I am being really picky
We really enjoyed our stay, the view from the property is wonderful. Stayed over New Year and loved all the Christmas lights around the house and the champagne in the fridge! The house is so well designed it doesn’t appear so narrow, we loved it.
Barnfield is in a lovely location and the property is in good condition inside. One or two problems - bathroom heated towel rail not working and a mirror would be useful in the other bathroom. It would have been nice to have a welcome pack!
Great location. Parking not an issue as public car park just a few minutes walk away and permit is provided. 2 flights of steep stairs to the bedrooms so anyone with mobility issues would struggle. Bed is slightly too large for the room as you need to duck to avoid the eaves, but once there very comfy. Great shower. Sitting room very spacious and light. Only real gripe is the state of the courtyard, it really needs some time spent on improving.
Seascape is a lovely appartment in a great spot overlooking the quay very close to the Lower Ferry. The accommodation is excellent. The exclusive parking space is very useful as parking is at a premium in Dartmouth. Although the appartment was immaculately clean (compliments to the cleaners), the carpets could do with a clean as there are a number of stains on them (accepted that we were there at the end of a no doubt very busy season). We would definitely book again.
Very comfortable cottage but would benefit from more cutlery/plates as we had to wash some if we had not done the dishwasher.
We visited for new year and felt at home as soon as we arrived. Lovely and clean all the expected amenities and comfy sofas. We brought some logs with us and used the wood burner which made it lovely and cosy. Very close to the harbour. The steps outside were not a problem and short walk to the car park, however it was difficult to get a space as was busy. Definitely recommend for a relaxing break.
Fantastic location - only a short walk for food and drink! Pet friendly cottage with amazing views over the River Dart from the patio. Highly recommend.
Riverview perfect for family holidays. Top floor bedroom and bathroom for grandparents, ground floor bedrooms and bathroom for the rest of the family, ideal! Super place for younger children with lots of outdoor space and fields to let off steam. Crabbing down at the Quay keeps children amused for hours while parents, etc enjoy a leisurely pint or glass of wine from the riverside pub. Plenty of places to visit, Dartmouth within easy reach both by road and water! Dittisham is a delightful village, peaceful and quiet.
We were very happy with Ollie’s cottage. It was our second stay in 2 years in Dittisham, and we found Ollie’s location very convenient for all our activities. The cottage is very well-equipped and comfortable, with handy parking. We were very lucky with the weather, and especially enjoyed the ‘Round Robin’ boat, bus and train trip round the Dart Valley, a fascinating (very early morning!) tour of Brixham Fish Market, and visits to Greenway, beautiful Coleton Fishacre and amazing Fast Rabbits Farm. We would definitely like to see all the gardens again in the Spring, and would happily return to...more
This property is ‘a little gem’ and has it’s own drive for several cars, a rarity in Dartmouth. It is comfy, well equipped in a lovely, quiet location. The views from the lounge & balcony are wonderful. Easy access into Dartmouth via park & ride or bus, with local supermarkets minutes away. We really enjoyed our week and will definitely return.
This is a fabulous property, with stunning views from all the rooms and a wonderful terrace. It is very attractively furnished throughout. The location is excellent, near to all the restaurants and amenities.
Nice cottage, parking is not always ideal especially on a very steep hill. If you are taking a dog is not 100% secure, especially for a young dog.
Donore is a beautiful cottage set over a great garden which always has flowers blooming away and a useful spot at the bottom where you can curl up with a book !
Back for another stay within 2 months as love the quiet lication and proximity to yDartmouth. Cottage is a perfect size and has an airy feel
Close to awesome pub, cafe and well stocked shop. A short drive to 4 super beaches - Lannacombe, Mattiscombe, Gara Rock and East Portlemouth (which has a foot ferry to Salcombe). Millbrook Inn at South Pool is also close and recommended.
We were only staying a short while but really enjoyed this small but cosy and comfortable cottage. It is in a good position with lovely gardens. It’s warm and clean. The single beds are really meant for children not adults It was a nice bolt hole for our short stay in the village
We have stayed in the area many times before but never in the heart of Dartmouth itself. This was the perfect location for us this time! Our tweenage children could wander to the shops, and fish from the harbour freely whilst only being 2 mins away from home if they needed us. Parking was a little tricky on arrival but only because the Food Festival was in full swing by Monday we never failed to find a spot. We used the ferry’s and local transport to travel around the area meaning we didn’t use the car very much at all. The accommodation was clean and well presented and perfect for the four of...more
First thing to say is that other reviews have commented on the tight parking. The turning isn’t as bad as it first seems and there is plenty of room in the parking area itself. The cottage was lovely and well equipped. We used the ferry to get to Dartmouth. We also walked to Dartmouth and back one day. Our only gripe was that we couldn’t find the cushions for the outdoor furniture and despite emailing we didn’t get a response. Could have phoned if urgent but it wasn’t that pressing. Would also add that the property description mentions river views from the top of the garden. Th...more
A nice cottage in a quiet location. Only disappointment was the garden that promised views over the creek!!
We had a lovely week in Greenswood Garden Cottage. The farm is very peaceful and is set in a lovely little valley with ponds and beautiful gardens. It is a traditional farm cottage with everything you need. It is off the main road down a long driveway surrounded by lovely fields, it is a very pretty and peaceful location - just what we wanted. It is close to Blackpool Sands, Strete, Slapton Sands and Dartmouth. It is an easy short drive to the Dartmouth open top park & ride bus service, which is an excellent facility. We had a lovely week with lots of leisurely breakfasts followed by walks aro...more
Thanks so much for a fabulous stay!! Your house is in such a great location and was exactly what we wanted. Beautifully clean and warm. A couple of things we noted as some feedback; The front door mat was has obviously got wet and is quite strongly smelling of damp. The top bedroom with ensuite, the mattress was unbelievably hard, our friends moved to the third room. The coffee pod machine doesn't work. We have a holiday let and thought these points may be useful to know! Again thank you so much for our stay, we will be back.
We loved this cottage and its fabulous location. It has easy access to Quay and The Ham. There are several seating areas in the communal grounds to see the stunning views and take a glass of wine. It was lovely to leave the car for a few days and explore the estuary using the many boat trips available. The cottage itself is comfortable and had everything you need.
Another nice stay and able to make most of south facing terrace. Would recommend people to stay, however several points need mentioning. Ther e is a lack of cutlery and crockery. The heater in the main bedroom is still not heating up. There are several slipped slates and the guttering outside the main bedroom is completely filled up with moss.the beds are very hard. Had a tawny owl sitting on the table outside one night.
Access to the flat is via five short flights of stairs which may be a problem for people with health/mobility problems, particularly carrying luggage up to the flat. This is not mentioned at all on the website accommodation details? The building is currently surrounded by scaffolding which is visible through all the windows. Again, no mention of this on the website, although I appreciate this may be temporary. The underfloor heating in the lounge was not switched on when we arrived, we had some initial difficulties trying to get it operational . We contacted the DVC helpline, everyone was ...more
The view is even better than the photos aboslutely breath taking and we'd return just for that! The master bedroom with the double doors opening up also was another treat.. seen some amazing sunrise's A few minor things: *It was a shame that the back garden is unusable as the sun does go from the front quite early. We did walk up there and its quite dangerous *The dishwasher was left full on our arrival *There is a smell of damp in the house especially downstairs The building work and scaffolding made aboslutely no difference to our trip at all. There was no noise and it didnt rui...more
This particular apartment did not suit our needs because of its location to the noisy front doors. As all age groups stay there, we were disturbed by the flats above and there late night returning. Therefore it did not suit our ur age group.
I will review as per my ratings. We had to wash eveything in the kitchen before use as it was filthy. Only 2 tea towels for a week? Rest of property generally clean but cobwebs and dust everywhere hence score of 3. Beds comfortable but sofas not. All linen and towels are obviously commercial contract. General condition of property is average certainly not in the luxury market but the price is, so not value for money. Location is fantastic and you would struggle to get better. Overall i would not stay in Dittisham again. The local pub is crap and all it serves is pizza and only 5 days a week....more
The locality was great, accommodation was comfortable and clean, we would stop again. The lack of WiFi caused a slight problem.
Amazing location but house needs a bit of work to bring up to standard. Beds not great to be honest and plumbing is a bit dodgy ! This said the location makes this house hard to beat!
Blackness Barn is in a beautiful location and is so well equipped. You’ve thought of every little detail from kitchen equipment, laundry, even being able to play Alexa in the kitchen. Towels were handy (which we weren’t expecting from the booking email), drying rack too. It’s a 5 minute walk down to the Ham, which is a green space by the river Dart surrounded by trees. When tide was high we kayaked and paddle boarded from there. But it’s also such a lovely place to just sit. It’s very quiet and dark at night. It’s really off the beaten track which we loved. It does mean days out from t...more
Spacious “living spaces” which was important given our group size and the variable weather. Bedrooms and bathrooms entirely adequate. Ample parking a particular benefit as was an especially well equipped kitchen although refrigerator space might perhaps have been more generous. One or two small “irritations” but nothing one isn’t going to encounter in most establishments in this quality/price range in many parts of the world; however and as already pointed out to the agent: living room chair legs need repair before someone is injured; outside front door light not working. We would like to comp...more
I highly recommend this choice. It’s a fantastic location with lovely views of the river and short walk to Dittisham jetty. The cottage had everything we needed.
This was disappointing. The deficiencies became apparent as the days progressed. We only selected this one out of three offered as we were told that we could pass a drink through the kitchen window to the terrace outside. However the terrace outside was about fifteen steps down and another ten or so up, across a great gulf. We were eventually offered alternative accommodation and had a happy three nights there.
A great house just a short walk from the centre of Dartmouth. Good family kitchen/living room space. Car parking space a bonus.
A very cosy and comfy cottage in the heart of Dittisham. We had a lovely few days. Ferry Boat Inn a short walk down the hill is well worth a visit too.
The cottage needs renovation and updating. Dining on a uncomfortable bench was an experience that I had not been encountered since my army days. The door to the shower on the upstairs bathroom was opened by a complicated system that must have been created by someone aimed at driving the user mad. The shower on the main floor was inoperable and had to be replaced (why are these things not checked prior to turnovers) After many years of renting Dart Valley cottages we assume that there is new management . Our family and friends will not be back
I stayed here with my wife and father in law. We all found the cottage to be an excellent choice for a short break. There was a wonderful view from the lounge and bedrooms. It was in a very handy location, not being too far up a hill from the lower car ferry and passenger ferry. A shop, pub and small Italian restaurant are nearby too. The parking permit for the car park just below is fantastic given the parking problems in Dartmouth and Kingswear. The cottage is very clean, warm, has comfortable beds and has many cooking items in the kitchen if required. Communications with Dart Valley Cotta...more
A cosy , warm, comfortable end of terrace cottage which was very peaceful out of main holiday season It is set on the edge of a beautiful communal orchard garden in a pretty , hilly ,river Dart village which has amenities to suit everyone
We arrived on a wet Monday evening , lovely little cottage, beautiful location.. Enjoyed our stay , just needs few jobs to sort out .. wardrobe doors need fixing , front gate needs fixing , Probably the most important is back yard needs pressure washing as when wet very slippery.. ( accident waiting to happen for someone who is elderly or small child ) Also garden needs some tidying /TLC Saying that we had a lovely time
Our first time staying in South Devon and we enjoyed exploring the area, visiting lovely seaside towns, travelling on heritage railways and taking a river cruise. Totnes has so many independent shops so an excellent place to browse. Duck Cottage is homely and welcoming in a peaceful location and abundance of water fowl. Our only comment is about access to and from the cottage. We have a Landrover Discovery and did find parking tricky especially having to reverse out and would have appreciated knowing about this when booking. The picture is deceptive as indicates ample space but this is on the...more
We adored our stay at Ferry View. We really loved the fact that, as we were fortunate enough to have the hottest week of the year, there seemed to always be somewhere to sit to grab a bit of sunshine - with two different spots to sit out in the back and one at the front of the house (and the window pocket up at the top!) There were some maintenance issues that we managed to sort out ourselves by finding an allen key and a couple of screws, but then we were ok. Be aware that the seagulls will be asking to be your friend at 4am if you're there in the summer and have the windows open. But a sm...more
Nice, little quaint cottage tucked away. Customer service Outstanding. We wanted a log burner so that’s why we chose this cottage, but when we arrived the burner is actually in the dining room so this spoilt it for us as we wanted it in the lounge, but we still enjoyed our stay at the cottage.
we have stayed here before ao knew what to expect. The views are out of this world! and the parking is such a massive bonus. We have stayed in dartmouth numerous times so we know above town is up steps but that is why you get the views. Garden is a bonus too :) The house was clean and comfortable although could probably do with a bit of a refurb. But we would book to stay here again! Thanks for a great week!
