This unique 5* ‘no expense spared’ new build holiday cottage, has been designed and built with the accessibility requirements of wheelchair users and less able guests in mind it is M3i Rated on the National Accessible Scheme making it suitable for independent wheelchair users.

The Coach House is a completely level bungalow with 2 bedrooms, The Coach House can accommodate up to 4 guests and is dog friendly, it also benefits from a Private Hot Tub.

It’s very difficult to find accommodation that suits our needs but I’m glad to say the Coach House ticked all the boxes. My mobility is very poor but the Coach House was spacious and the wooden flooring was perfect for wheelchair use. The hob and kitchen sink can be lowered to suit a seated person and the wet room is large enough to hold a medium sized party. I made two requests for equipment which were fulfilled without question and I’m sure if I had any others, Rebecca (Harrod) would have been only too pleased to help.
The Coach House looks like it’s in the middle of the countryside but it’s actually very close to a main road so there’s no struggling up/down rutted tracks to reach the accommodation.
There’s a hot tub in the garden so privacy isn’t an issue and there’s off road parking right outside the front door.
There’s the odd niggle (it would be odd if there wasn’t) but all in all it’s a great holiday cottage and we’ve booked again for next year.

Excellent accommodation, spacious and spotless, the facilities provided adequately met the needs of my client that uses a power chair with limited abilities. Clear and concise instructions were provided to settle in quickly. Any request is dealt with promptly and efficiently by the owner. It’s hard to fault on any level. Only reason comfort was a 4 and not a 5 was because bed was a bit firm for me but that is personal preference.
Possibly an air fryer, and a fixed knife chopping board would be useful added items.
A comfortable relaxed and enjoyable stay at The Coach house.

The Coach House is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. It is a spacious,
well-maintained cottage with all the equipment necessary for a wheelchair user. The garden is peaceful and the hot tub an added bonus.
The cottage is in a good location and we were able to visit some of our favourite places like Newquay, Falmouth and Truro and on this holiday visited Perranporth and Fowey.
We hope to return to Harrods cottages in the future.

We have had a wonderful week at The Coach House, celebrating our Golden Wedding. We tied the knot at St Newlyn East and had our wedding breakfast at Trerice Manor, so this property was close to both places, enabling us to take a trip down memory lane.
The Coach House is so well equipped for guests with a range of disabilities, but in no way felt clinical. We were so grateful for the profiling bed, hoist and tilting shower chair. A small trolley to accommodate toiletries would enhance independent showering, making them more accessible from the shower chair. The property is beautifully decorated and so much space for manoeuvring in a wheelchair. The addition of smart tvs in the bedrooms was a bonus if you need to rest at different times of the day. Great to have a hot tub with a hoist as well. The property has a lovely private garden, and views from the open plan sitting room to a field with the family’s horses.
Rebecca provided us with a deliicious cream tea on arrival, and us Devonians found ourselves eating it with the jam first!
We will definitely be returning to this wonderful property. A real home from home. Thank you.

The cottage was excellent and extremely wheelchair friendly, all the adaptations made for a stress free holiday but nothing looked 'clinical' . Hopefully we'll return again.

Absolutely stunning cottage. So well equipped for my disabled partner. Lots of space and wider door ways. Amazing hot tub too.
Perfectly positioned to discover the whole of Cornwall. Managed to find the ice cream parlour a short walk down the lanes from the cottage. Definitely worth a visit.

Our second visit to the coach house, it has everything we need with great hosts.
The garden is perfect for our dogs completely secure, they love it. the hot tub is a bonus for us and a great way to relax after exploring cornwall.

It’s so hard to find somewhere that is roomy enough to allow our son and his wheelchair to have the space they need. The cottage was perfect, great parking and facilities, loving the height adjustable sink and cooler which made our boy feel included. Fab to have a decent shower and chair in the washroom, very well thought out and great location for going off exploring. Thank you for having us.

All in all a perfect place for our family. Disabled facilities are great, including hot tub access.
Quiet location with fields and horses in view. 2 really minor gripes but nothing that spoilt our stay.
It’s great that dogs are allowed and I have no problem with that, however we came across quite a few dog hairs on the flooring, for the money, I think this was an oversight by the cleaners.
Secondly the shower area could do with some type of shelving even if freestanding just to enable easy access to products whilst showering.
Having said that all in all a great stay and would happily book again.

I do wish you had mentioned this on arrival, I would have been happy to rectify the situation for you. I take on board your suggestion for some shelving, most guests use the teak stool (if they are not using it for the shower), but I can see how some free-standing shelves would be a benefit, so I will look into this further. I recently stayed at The Coach House and was honestly so impressed with all their accessible facilities. As a full-time electric wheelchair user, I would have no problems in recommending this cottage.

From the initial booking, I was sent a detailed list of equipment available - from hoists, slings, shower chairs and a commode. All requests were met with kindness and were there ready in place prior to my arrival. Staff were incredibly friendly and respected our privacy too.

The cottage had level access throughout, with plenty of open, turning spaces for my wheelchair. I was so impressed with the large wet room facilities. So much thought and detail had gone into the overall access. Being able to travel without having to bring all my own equipment (such as a profiling bed) was such a relaxing experience.

My favourite part had to be the hottub - which had an EasyTrack hoist with gantry system. The location of the cottage was also perfect for nearby attractions such as the beach and cyder farm. Dogs were also welcome, which made the trip even more appealing to me.

Grounds of the cottage are beautiful and well kept . Great fir exploring Cornwall only disappointment was you are unable to go anywhere on foot. No pathways are anywhere it’s on a busy lane would have liked to have been able to walk to a pub or shop.

I can only praise and thank Rebecca and her family for everything. We booked five cottages and found them all to be excellent. My disabled daughter stayed in the coach house with a carer and Rebecca purchased a special hospital style bed and a gantry hoist for the hot tub; what an amazing service! My wife and I stayed next door in the Stables, also very well equipped and adapted; both have amazing wet rooms. The rest of the care team stayed in the Forge and Wishing Well and my teenage son stayed in the Hideaway; they were all very happy. All the cottages are built, equipped and adapted to a very high standard. Wishing Well is just down the lane from the main site. The cottages on the main site are all tucked away in a secluded setting surrounded by open countryside within lovely gardens - gorgeous. The location is wonderful with close and easy access to the towns and beaches near the sea - perfect. Fantastic service and response from Rebecca and her family if you need anything both at the time of booking and when you are there. We will be back!

We had a fantastic few nights at The Coach House in early spring. Its large, clean and has the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. Theres everything you could possibly want, I really think the (lovely friendly) owner has thought of everything - we had a cream tea waiting for us when we arrived, the bed linen was great quality and the towels were both plentiful and white and fluffy. The private garden was cute and the private hot tub wonderful.

In terms of it being suitable for someone with a disability, I think its ideal. Plenty of room for a wheelchair, wide doors, room to store equipment, and you park right by the front door on a private drive, so its easy to unpack the car. The accommodation is spacious and the furniture well spaced out which was perfect for me as I am a little unsteady on my feet. There are two comfortable reclining chairs that also help you stand up after your afternoon snooze (!), and even the kettle is a specially made one that you can pour without having to lift up the kettle.

There are plenty of beautiful beaches nearby and we enjoyed finding different ones and imagining smugglers of old coming ashore with the children.

I really do recommend The Coach House, its an amazing place, they have thought of everything to make things easy and comfortable for their guests. And most of all, theres nothing clinical about it, and despite it being suitable for disabled guests, you wouldn't know it, which is something I really liked
