Sail is a stunning apartment in the roof space of a large Edwardian detached house. The house is situated at the bottom of Combe Valley which runs to the sea where Woolacombe meets Mortehoe and the beach below is called Combesgate, a firm favourite amongst local surfers.

Beautiful view through cloudy windows!

The outstanding feature for this flat was the view through the patio doors. Unfortunately, the glazing had blown which was disappointing. The fridge fell forward if too much weight in the front, some cupboards didn't have handles which proved awkward to open, poor quality mattresses and four flights of stairs to get to the property. The toilets wobbled, the seal on the shower doors had broken and generally looked like it needed a spruce up throughout. The carbon monoxide tester was beeping when we arrived and TV remote control batteries needed replacing. Compared to other holiday lets in the area, this flat felt a bit unloved.

We're sorry to hear that your experience in Sail wasn't all positive especially as the owner dropped their price at short notice to accommodate your visit after there was an issue with another property. We do however feel it is fair to respond to some of the points made some of which were constructive but others not quite accurate. Unfortunately the glazing has blown but will be replaced. The fridge legs need adjusting which will be done . The cupboards don't have handles by design, they open from underneath. The comfort of the mattresses has not been mentioned by any other guests all summer. Comfort choices are very individual and subjective. There are 15 steps up to the property, not really qualifying as 'four flights'. The one wobbly toilet will be fixed, owners were unaware of this. The beeping of the Co2 alarm came from a spare unit in the cupboard. If notified of this it could have been rectified. There were spare batteries under the sink for the remote control. Hopefully you had a lovely holiday in Woolacombe and enjoyed all it has to offer
