3rd stay spanning 20yrs. The initial fit out was to a high standard which has worn well. It has great charm, in an unbeatable central location and a secure garage. Guests should be aware of a variety of steps stairs and changes of level so maybe not ideal for toddlers or people with mobility issues. Some restrained chatter in the evenings from nearby bars. Everything worked, lots of homely touches, just has a lovely feel to it.

Lovely cottage in perfect location with the advantage of a garage. Steep steps into lounge could prove challenging to some people.

Great stay in Ambleside. Cottage was well equipped, had everything we needed. Very clean. Perfectly situated for all the town had to offer and great location for visiting The Lakes. Garage was a real bonus and a selling point for us when we booked.
Customer service from Brathay Cottages was a bit hit and miss. Took quite a while to get confirmation of our payment going through. They also said they would let us know if the cottage was ready earlier than the 4pm takeover time, which they didn't, even though we arrived at 3pm and it had clearly been ready for a while before that.
Overall the cottage is very near perfect. Brathay customer service needs a bit of improvement.
