The Brathay Cottage Collection, is a family run business that lets and manages, in our opinion, some of the best holiday properties in the Lake District. We always aim to provide, not only the perfect base for your holiday in the Lakes, but the perfect service and personal touch to ensure you make the most of your time in the Lake District.
We really enjoyed our stay there. The only thing was that the lights at the end of the path are overgrown & my daughter tripped over an uneven paving slab which she couldn’t see and cut her ankle & grazed her knees.
Couldn’t have asked for more for a weekend away with friends. The location was perfect, the house fabulous, the beds comfy. Had everything we needed and more. Highly recommend.
We had an off season break at Thomas Fold Flat and found it to be very comfortable and well appointed . We often stay in Ambleside with our family and I can say that the flat was as good as any of the other properties we have used although the steps are a little steep for old legs when carrying luggage. Once settled in we found it an excellent base for touring the area and relaxing at the end of the day. Home from home . Relaxed and comfy , walkable into Ambleside and pubs. Dog friendly having downstairs bedroom. No garden, but 5 mins walk to open space to run dog .
Parking for 2 cars - quite tight - but next to the house , so very convenient . Have re-booked .
Great apartment with parking. Great location just few minutes walk into central Bowness. We parked the cars and never used them until we left. Sofas and chairs uncomfortable. Need brush and pan for floors upstairs kitchen lounge area. Other than that perfect.
The cottage it self is very comfortable with a wonderful view from the lounge window. Good beds and kitchen equipment.

This was very frustrating - when we are on holiday everything should be made as easy for people as possible especially when paying premium prices. Forcing people to use this system excludes a significa...more
We really enjoyed our stay at Beech Cottage. As some other reviews have touched on, the garden is not secure for dogs so just bear this in mind when booking to stay with your dogs. The house was cleaned well but needs some TLC in places, mainly the family bathroom that needs a new blind urgently as it is not private currently. The kitchen could also do with some larger pots and pans to serve 6 people, half of them didn’t work on the induction hob and the extractor fan was broken. The house is in a perfect location to explore the Langdales. Chester’s on the River serves lovely baked goods and l...more
