My family stayed here on the weekend of Storm Daragh! Despite this we found the cottage excellent for us . It was warm and cosy inside despite being very cold and windy outside.
Spotlessly clean and well decorated.
Every conceivable utensil was to be found in the kitchen and lots of crockery.
Only issue was the parking space which is fine for a small car but I couldn’t squeeze my 4x 4 in it and get out easily. However there is a large car park next to the cottage so not a big problem for us,
All in all a great place for a long weekend.

Home from home . Relaxed and comfy , walkable into Ambleside and pubs. Dog friendly having downstairs bedroom. No garden, but 5 mins walk to open space to run dog .
Parking for 2 cars - quite tight - but next to the house , so very convenient . Have re-booked .

our 3rd year there. It hasn't changed from year-to-year, so we got what we expected. We'll aim to come back next year too
only very minor gripes - I think all the same as last year - not enough loo rolls, missing bulbs in the downstairs bedroom, wi-fi in the downstairs bedroom could do with a boost/extension facility. All of these could be done at minimal cost I think. The telly is a bit complicated to learn, but the young ones helped us crack it
late (11.30 am) check-out was agreed by Brathay Cottages as an exception, and very much appreciated. I think this was our first special request, but George and co have been good each of the years that we've visited

I have stayed at Thomas Fold in the past. The place remains very familiar although there have been some upgrades to keep the standards up. Its a handy location and always bring back memories of visit with friends over the years.

Very comfortable cottage - especially the sofas and beds. There were 3 generations of us and the downstairs bedroom was ideal for grandparents as we weren’t on top of the grandchildren. It would also be ideal for a baby or people with mobility issues.
The location is ideal for our favourite bars and restaurants in addition to the bus stop!
We hope to return next year.
