We really enjoyed our stay there. The only thing was that the lights at the end of the path are overgrown & my daughter tripped over an uneven paving slab which she couldn’t see and cut her ankle & grazed her knees.

Many thanks to Brathay for a wonderful stay. We were a group of 5 men in a walking trip in the Lakes. The house is well maintained and fitted to a very high standard. The owners have clearly invested in a high standard of accommodation. The kitchen is modern and has every amenity. All 5 bedrooms have very comfortable beds as well as ensuite facilities. The living areas are spacious. The entire house was spotless. We found Brathay to be very helpful and professional. Ambleside is a great location for visitors. There are many good restaurants nearby and quite a few circular walks start and finish in the town....for example Loughrigg Fell. The house is on the main road through Ambleside but traffic noise is minimal as all windows are double glazed. I highly recommend Highfield House and we look forward to our next visit.

Great accommodation for our group of nine people and two dogs.
Spacious, comfortable and well equipped.
Very convenient for the shops and restaurants of Ambleside with lovely walks and other attractions on the doorstep.

Lovely house perfectly situated for bars/restaurants. Very comfy beds and bathroom facilities perfect for large group.
