We had an off season break at Thomas Fold Flat and found it to be very comfortable and well appointed . We often stay in Ambleside with our family and I can say that the flat was as good as any of the other properties we have used although the steps are a little steep for old legs when carrying luggage. Once settled in we found it an excellent base for touring the area and relaxing at the end of the day. The SLDC car park pass provided was particularly useful as it covers many of the towns in the immediate area.
I noted that a number of the comments in the visitors book related to noise from the cottage upstairs. Having stayed in the cottage previously I would say that people staying there may be unaware how much the two properties overlap. Fortunately the cottage was vacant during our stay so it wasn't a problem. I am sure a quiet word with the neighbours would have sorted it out anyway ;-)
Lovely property

Lovely property located a short walk from the centre of Ambleside. The property is small but has everything you need. The garden is small and on two levels. It is secure if you have a dog, just be mindful of the high wall and watch the dog doesn’t try to jump down from it! Lots of great walks on your door step! Would stay again!
Lovely stay but for the upstairs neighbours

Beautiful flat with everything that I needed. I had read the other reviews which indicated noise from the cottage above however the group that rented from night 2 of my stay made excessive noise so much so that I left a night early. They were clearly football fans.
The cottage is perfect size for a couple and the location ideal for the lakes
