This was our 2nd stay at the park. The first time was 2018, without a dog. Blackbird Lodge is clean, comfortable and well equipped. We appreciated the complimentary wine, water, biscuits and pint of milk. We liked the thoughtful doggie biscuits and towel. The hot tub is amazing and the daily checks a comfort to know.
We stayed with friends who hadn’t been before and they also loved it. The park is in a good location close to many tourist spots. The only suggestion I would make is a bigger enclosed space for dogs to run around a bit and maybe a grassed area by the lodge for those bedtime and morning toilet visits to save owners in their PJs the walk to the orchard!
We enjoyed a drink and game of pool at the Cider Barn.

This was our second visit to Blackbird lodge. Lovely lodge, clean and well equipped. They really do seem to have thought of everything and the quality adds to the luxury feel. Park is very well maintained. All staff, both before our visit and whilst there, were friendly and helpful. Already recommended Strawberry fields to friends and planning when we can return.

My mum and I stayed here for 7 days. The lodge is beautiful and comfortable, very quiet. The hot tub was a lovely bonus to the lodge. Not much contact with staff, but those we did come across were very polite and chatty which was nice. We appreciated the milk, wine and biscuits left for us on arrival. A nice touch! Close to wonderful Cheddar and not too bad a drive to other places to visit, Wells, Glastonbury and Longleat. All well worth a visit!. Thank you for a great stay :)

We had a lovely weekend stay with my friends and my dog. The lodge was spotless and comfortable. The Hot Tub was perfect and clean.
Our only negatives- we were expecting a few more basics I.e kitchen roll, oil, a spray for surfaces. We had to go out and buy this. Also our heating did not work and we mentioned this to the Hot Tub guy who said someone would come later but no one did. We had a very cold night's sleep!
Location wise not really anywhere in walking distance so had to drive but this wasn't a big deal.
We would definitely come back another time!

As self catering lodges we try to go the extra mile with personal touches by leaving you a few bits to get you started such as wine, milk, tea, coffee, toiletries, washing up liquid etc. We will pass on to housekeeping about providing an anti bacterial spray as we appreciate this would be useful, thank you. We are so sorry to hear about the heating and that there was a breakdown in communication. We hope this doesn't prevent us from being able to welcome you back again.

Very comfortable lodge. Good cooking facilities. We love the hot tub.

This was our second stay the first was in Combe Hay,we picked Blackbird this time as my daughter and grandson were coming to stay with us for a few days. Cot and high chair were provided free of charge. Lodge was clean and had everything you would need for a home from home experience.
Thankyou for the wine and biscuits and milk and even a dog towel and treats.
We all had a great stay and hopefully will return in July.

This was our second visit to the park. We stayed in a different lodge this time to mix things up a bit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was immaculate. We were pleasantly surprised by the milk and wine which was gifted to us on arrival. We also purchased some mini cheesecakes from a local lady. Her Instagram is ‘only a slice’. She pre-made and delivered these directly to our lodge so they were there on our arrival- they were delicious and we would 100% buy them again. We got a free basket of logs during the 12 days of Christmas count down. We adored the fire, it kept us lovely and warm and gave us that extra cosy feeling. The hot tub was super clean and relaxing we used it a few times during our stay and enjoyed using the robes provided too. Our little dog was very relaxed and spent the whole time snoozing by the fire. We went to the garden centre with him as it’s dog friendly. All the appliances worked without fault or difficulty and the kitchen was very well equipped. An overall throughly enjoyable stay. Thank you!

Stayed here a few times in other lodges, everything spot on as usual.

Only small issue I have about this lodge in particular are the bedroom doors, they don’t latch properly. We had our dog with us and it was very difficult to keep her out of the bedrooms when the doors would open with a slight breeze.

We have visited now for the fourth time, and it will definitely not be the last. All the team at Strawberry Fields are very friendly and helpful, and the lodges are superbly equipped. A perfect place to relax and explore the local area such as Wells, Glastonbury etc, and if you are into walking, Brean Down, Cheddar Gorge, or a more sedate walk around Cheddar Reservoir! All round a perfect place for a genuinely relaxing break, see you next year, and thank you!

Strawberryfield Park is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing break in the heart of the Somerset countryside. The lodges are set in a beautiful location, surrounded by green fields and rolling hills, and offer the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The lodges themselves are very comfortable and well-equipped, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. They are also beautifully decorated and furnished, with a lovely homely feel that makes you feel instantly relaxed and at ease.

Blackbird cottage was lovely and cosy with comfy beds and corner sofa and a well equipped kitchen which was fantastic as the weather was wet and windy so we didn't venture out much. We did make good use of the dog walking fields though and it was much appreciated to have somewhere to let him off lead to have a good run around. The hot tub was great, and the owner willingly arranged for someone to help us with the heating on hot tub for us on a Sunday evening. The only downside was that the wi-fi was patchy, probably because of the weather conditions. We would definitely return in the future.

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend and it was so peaceful and quiet compared to main tourist attractions which actually just around the corner. So much to do around the area within half an hour drive - mountains, caves, seaside, historical town markets Lodge it self was amazing with all amenities you can possibly need. Securely gated for our four legged friend and nice apple orchard for a doggie walk just few steps away! Deffinetelly will be coming back again.

It was a very relaxing stay which was what we needed. If you need to eat out it’s advisable to book as it’s still busy at this time. (Aug/Sept week). Walking in the area is very hilly but once you get to the top the views are magnificent.
Lots of information provided at the lodge of the area. Very clean site. We will return if we need to go to Somerset.

A really impressive cabin with all the mod cons you could ask for and of high quality. The majority of utensils were provided, the only thing we could possibly think that was missed was a potato peeler, other than that a variety of pots and pans, mugs, cups, glasses for every occasion.
The cleanliness of the property was fantastic, especially since dogs are permitted therefore we expected a few hairs or a possible smell of canine (but nothing whatsoever). On top of this the quality of furnishings, bedding and towels was impressive.
Outside space was great with loungers, table and chairs and of course the hot tub. The Blackbird lodge backs out onto a country road that is used frequently and the only downside to this was the privacy aspect, hedges were very low meaning we were exposed to onlookers, even a trellis with climbers would provide a better enclosure. Also a canopy over the hot tub as an option would be an idea for those strong sunny or rainy days.
On this occasion we took our two young boys who thoroughly enjoyed the experience especially when they saw Netflix was available on the tv! Whilst we kept them entertained a small play area on site would be a great addition albeit we understand the attraction of these lodges are for a tranquil experience.
You could see a lot of effort is made to keep the site at the top of its game, with staff maintaining elements of the grounds daily, hot tubs being checked for water quality and their general manor in ensuring you are happy with you lodge as well as welcoming feedback.
A great stay and we’ll certainly be heading back there soon!

The staff were amazing especially with a mishap I had on arrival. The lodge was clean and spacious and secure for our dog who was also holidaying with us. The location was great , not far to brean beach and also Rich’s cider farm. The cider barn is great for a drink and the staff were lovely. A brilliant holiday we will definitely be back !!! Thank you to all the amazing staff.

Absolutely loved this place, nice relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of home. Everything you need too. Very welcoming and comfortable.
Outside area could do with a bit of updating (couple of the decking panels need replacing as they'd rotted, the hot tub cover had collapsed a little and just some light replacements outside) and it would be perfect.

Enjoyed a week away at Strawberryfield Park. Accommodation is of a high quality and with all amenities. Location is perfect, just 10 minutes from Cheddar Gorge and 30 minutes from Weston Super-Mare, which is a fantastic dog friendly beach. We will definitely book again.

Ive just returned and missing it already; and needed and wanted to write this review whilst still here as guys done so well.
Staying in Blackbird lodge.

Just can’t believe how superb this place is…. We knew it was going to be good… get that feeling in how quickly replies came back that it was going to professional and superb quality.

Check in - Self check in during these times so easy, key in door, directions to lodge spot on.
Nice touches - Wine and two cans of local
Cider in fridge, cold water and milk in fridge, coffee machine with a few pods to start, dish washer with tablets etc.
Clean - Super clean not a spot anywhere.
Amenities -
Smart TV with Netflix all set up and ready to
Go.
Superb comfy beds and great settees.
Kitchen - Home from home, modern, although not cooking it’s there if needed.
BBQ modern and clean.
Hot tub OMG such luxury, gets checked every day nice touch !
Two sun loungers and what a sun spot.
Also keep out the sun with modern rattan table and chairs.
Staff - Not intrusive, super friendly and helpful when needed. A credit !
Information- Great folder showing local walks, pubs and things to do not your normal cheap tacky folder but a well thought out and professional put together.

I found inside the folder the local masseuse Jo, and booked with her a 60 minute massage, please see below -
Just had a fabulous massage by Jo at our Eco retreat Strawberryfields Blackbird Cabin.
Messaged Jo on off chance of availability, very quick response and move stuff around to enable me to have a massage next day of sending WhatsApp.
I’ve had massages all around world and have one every week at home.
Jo was -
- Very professional, asked me where aches and pains.
- Wore a mask!
- Although wearing a mask could still hear and chat very easily and very comfortable.
- Very attentive to my bodies needs but not so much that other parts where left.
- Never lost contact with my body, always a good sign.
- Didn’t rush off at end allowed me to relax on bed another great indicator of a great experienced masseuse.
- I felt it was about me and the treatment all the time, not about the fee, such a great personal touch.
I would highly recommend Jo.

Can’t wait to come back and may try a Christmas break.

We stayed in Blackbird Lodge. The lodge was well-equipped and looked after. Having a hot tub was brilliant especially as the weather wasn’t great. Would definitely return and recommend.

We had a wonderful week staying in the lovely Blackbird lodge. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed for an enjoyable week. Only real down side were the trees were quite over grown making it quite shady.
Good location for sightseeing. Great food at the cider barn.
We will return to try another lodge.

We stayed in the Blackbird lodge with friends and had a lovely time.
The accommodation was excellent, it was spotless. it was fully equipped with everything needed for our stay. The hot tub was lovely and we used it daily.
We also enjoyed the Cider Barn which is a 1 minute walk from the lodge. There is no need to drive as the bus stop is in walking distance. the walks are also lovely into Cheddar.
We would highly recommend the lodge, we had an excellent stay and look forward to returning in the near future.

Amazing lodge very high standard and peaceful stunning setting with great surroundings . Hot tub was a lovely added touch and cheddar is close by with lots to see and do . Cider barn on site which sadly we didn’t get chance to visit but looked very busy , bumped in to the owner who was friendly and ensured we were happy with our stay . Went with 4 friends for a couple nights for a chilled stress free weekend it was that and more .
Would definitely return .

Great stay ,wish was longer ,clean ,tidy ,lovely grounds ,hopefully the cider barn will be up and running with more food options ,as closest place to eat and drink . swan in wed more amazing food sunday roast 5 stars .

Having just come out of the second lockdown period of the COVID pandemic, we were excited about being able to get away for the first time in 18 months.
Strawberryfield Park and the Blackbird Lodge gave us the opportunity to do this and we were not disappointed. The Park's management and staff had put extra steps in place to ensure the safety of their guests. The Park is set in a glorious location and the views are stunning. Although we were not lucky enough to have wall to wall sunshine during our weekend, we could imagine the sun rises and sun sets would be fabulous.

The lodges offer wonderful comfort and the hot tub is a lovely addition.

This was out second visit to the Park and we would not hesitate to book another holiday there.

From enquiring, to check in, to the most enjoyable weekend away. Everything ran smoothly and with ease. Nothing was too much trouble and the beds were so comfortable! Best nights sleep I’ve had in ages and the most relaxed I have felt all year. Thank you so much to Strawberryfield - we hope to return one day very soon :)

We had a wonderful week in Blackbird Lodge. The lodge has everything you need for a comfortable stay. A modern lodge that is very well equipped for you stay. The beds are extremely comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped with good quality appliances, crockery & utensils. Good 4k tv with Netflix & Amazon. Great , cosy log burner. The hot tub was fantastic after a long walk in the beautiful countryside with the dog. Plenty of towels, bathrobes & slippers. The location is brilliant for walking & cycling. Loads of footpaths nearby taking you deep into the very picturesque countryside. Lots of quiet country lanes for cycling. It was very peaceful and we slept really well. We will definitely return.

We have just returned from another wonderful week in Blackbird Lodge (7th visit)

On arrival it was spotless, and this is how it’s always been (not just because of Covid). Mike and his team are a credit to the hospitality industry, nothing is a problem to them.

We love this place, as does our 14 year Labrador. It’s just perfect for a relaxing time.
Scenery is beautiful and you can do as much, or as little as you like.

Others companies try, and are more expensive, but they cannot compete with Strawberry Fields.

We will definitely be returning again.

Enjoyed a long rainy weekend in Blackbird lodge. Loved the modern feel of the place and how well the kitchen was stocked with all the pots and pans, glasses, cutlery, utensils etc. Wifi was great, TV was ok but a nice to have would of been having Sky only I was staying with football fans! Beds are comfortable and both bathrooms in each of the bedrooms were spotless. perfect size accommodation for 4 people not cramped at all. We made full use of the hot tub even in the rain and it was heavenly even with the wind and rain. Would love to come and stay again and would highly recommend Strawberryfield to all I know. My only negative comment would be that it would of been handy to have a parasol or a covering of some kind for the hot tub on rainy days,

We have just returned from our stay at The Blackbird lodge at Strawberry field parks. We cannot fault the lodge at all. Immaculately clean and well equipped. The hot tub was wonderful too. My only complaint was it was next to a supposedly quiet lane. However tractors and cars sped up and down we thought we were next to a railway line!!! I walked down the lane so I could see what was there and it was definitely tractors and cars going far too fast on a single track lane!!!! Also I wish some of the trees were cut a bit lower. It blocked out lots of sun which was a shame. However these are just references and not complaints. The weekend was super . Thank you.

Very nice lodge the site overall is well kept nice communal area. There was some day time traffic noise due to lane running past patio of the lodge but overall nice and quiet. This lodge did not have a BBQ and not really anywhere appropriate to put one. Would definitely stay again but preferably in a lodge on the Orchard not the Avenue,
