It's our 2nd stay lodges are superb
Deer leap definitely gives the WOW factor when you walk in, the site is quiet and relaxing (except occasional noise from cider barn) we love this place relaxing in the hot tub after a day of walking and exploring, the whole site is 5 star and we can't wait to return

We both enjoyed our time at strawberry fields it was in a good location. The cider barn was very dog friendly and good fun. We would certainly look to revisit in the future.

We stayed here for our anniversary with our dog, Monday to Friday. We booked the early check In & the late check out. Deer leap lodge as its own pathway & garden. It's very spacious & it was so clean. A welcome pack, with towels & cidar, towel & biscuits for the dog, was a nice touch on arrival.
Everything from the bed being so comfortable, the starlit area, & the hot tub being ready & checked every morning, we will be returning, liked that it was private & relaxing, everything is so perfect, didn't want to leave, highly recommend coming here

Lovely relaxing stay, everything you needed, beds were lovely and comfortable. The information provided prior to arriving was very good, massage by Jo was excellent.
We had our dog with us and just hoped there was a bigger field to run with him as the field next door was no entry and poo dog poo bins would be helpful as there was only 1 at the top of the park which was full and not emptied in the time we were there!
Cheddar was a short drive and loved the bar called On the Rocks and the Thai restaurant Zen was also very good.

Thank you for your review and feedback. Apologies that the dog waste bin located at the top of site had not been emptied, this should not have been the case. We do have another bin at the bottom of the site in our apple orchard. We are pleased you found the information pack useful and enjoyed the local restaurants and bars- we are very lucky to have such a vast array in Cheddar.

We stayed a few lodges mainly with the Darwin group, and we think Deep Leap is the best we stayed at. Lovely touches wine, water and biscuits . They thought of everything even a towel for the dog.

We will be back loved it

We had a lovely stay however we were not happy with the cleanliness of the Hot Tub. We were told the hot tub is cleaned every day (stated in emails) however after the first day we noticed this was not the case. The hot tub was very uninviting after knowing that they had not been checked. This actually resulted in my partner having some sort of reaction/infection. As you can imagine this has left a bad experience. I emailed the team stating what had happened and was no where near satisfied with their response.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We are sorry that you felt disappointed with the response to your emails. As explained the hot tub was fully drained, cleaned and refilled before your arrival, in line with our procedure between all stays. You stayed for 3 nights for which the hot tub is dipped for chemical levels each morning. It is not drained and recleaned in this time, as this is not necessary when following the hot tub user guidance. Our team member mentioned that some people can have a mild reaction to chlorine, which is in keeping with your statement of your partner having a reaction/infection. Had we received any correspondence from you during your stay to highlight that your hot tub was unsatisfactory we could have attended, investigated and rectified. As a small business we take all feedback on board and communication with yourselves was professional, attentive and clear regarding all points of your feedback. We are sorry if you felt that this was not adequate but are pleased that you had a lovely stay aside from this. Best wishes.

Accommodation was spacious and spotless. Deer leap has it own little pathway and garden surrounds. It was very private almost slightly away from other lodges. It is at the top of the park so could hear the road and cider barn but to be honest it didn’t really bother us. If you want quiet choose a lodge further down. Saying that we absolutely loved our lodge. We had the best holiday and the lodge was luxurious! We visited the cider barn which is very quirky but had a selection of delicious cider’s! I loved our stay and and the hotub. The enclosed huge decked area was a bonus for our dog. I will be coming back! 5 star from us!

This is a fabulous place to stay. The location is peaceful and ideal for countryside walking but you are only a short distance from Cheddar or Wells. There are numerous attractions only a short drive away. If you just want to relax at your lodge you will find it is very well equipped with only very good quality items. The hot tubs are very well maintained. Spotlessly clean & a man comes daily to check the chemicals & temperature. Beds are very comfortable with quality bedding. WiFi signal is good. Your TV has apps for Netflix & Amazon. The kitchen is very well equipped with good quality appliances. If you do have an issue with anything the staff or Mike the owner are always on hand to resolve. The lodges are always very clean & we stay in a pet friendly one which is obviously harder to maintain but they are always spotless. All of the staff are extremely polite & customer focused. It is not the cheapest place to stay but you most definitely get what you pay for. We will keep returning as it is such a relaxing & restorative break.

The good:
Large very comfortable bed
Fantastic hottub
Plenty of space both in and around the lodge
Privacy from other lodges
Nice aesthetics
Good shower
Not far to drive to Chedder Gorge, Wells, Glastonbury and Bath
Hot water not working when arrived but this got fixed promptly
The bad:
Proximity to the cider barn, loud music until midnight at the weekend
Would have preferred a view of the surrounding area (the lodges at the bottom of the park may have better views)
Little black woodlouse creatures in the bathroom
Dirty wire rack in the oven
Only one plastic champagne glass for use in the hottub
Feel there should be one dish washer tablet per day provided, and that there should be enough toilet roll for whole stay
I expect perfection when spending £1293 for a weeks holiday

Thank you for your review and feedback, we really appreciate it. I will of course pass on to the housekeeping team regarding the oven rack and plastic glasses, we are so sorry that this wasn't up to our usual standards. The Cider Barn is independently run and although their Sunday Live Music nights are usually popular with guests, we understand that its not ideal for everyone. We have a site map on the website to show lodge placement and ensure guests can choose to be far away from it if they would like, or equally close to it if they love it. I will discuss with the team regarding adding a note to the page of lodges closest to make it more clear. Guests usually book Deer Leap for how secluded it is, we have photos on the individual lodge gallery pages so you can see the view from the outside area of each lodge before booking. We are lucky enough to have 24 bespoke lodges and we are also on hand to help you find the perfect lodge for you before booking if you have specific things that are a 'must haves'. As self catering accommodation we offer a complimentary starter pack which includes lots of lovely things such as wine and milk. 2 toilet rolls per bathroom are provided and enough dishwasher tablets to run it 5 times. As a complimentary starter pack this was seen as sufficient but I will of course share your thoughts with the team. We are so pleased you managed to relax and enjoy the hot tub as well as explore the local area, we are blessed to be situated is such a beautiful place. We hope that we can welcome you again one day.

The lodge was stunning & spotlessly clean. It was easy to find & well located for local attractions.
If you are looking for somewhere quiet & relaxing in this area I doubt you will find anywhere better than Strawberry Fields & Deer Leap was both private & dog friendly.
We would not hesitate to rebook if we are ever back in the area.

What a lovely week we had in Deer leap, very luxurious for a relaxing stay in Somerset. Hot tub was a added bonus for a very chilled evening.
Plenty of lovely walks locally. Cheddar Gorge just up the road….

We had the best stay at Deer Leap. It was a perfect place for our mini-moon and we’ve already booked to return for our first wedding anniversary! The team even left us a Prosecco bottle and card to celebrate our wedding!
There were so many walks locally for the dog and the lodge itself was stunning. Plenty of dog friendly places to eat nearby.
The massage by Jo was another luxury that we’d recommend!
Can’t wait to return!

We were so impressed with Deer Leap Lodge. The design, layout, room sizes, style, equipment, furnishings, landscaping and positioning for privacy, every detail had been carefully considered. Luxurious and so comfortable, utterly unlike other park homes, the lodges are a small development with a shared orchard area, situated just a few miles from the lovely Cheddar Gorge. We had a 3 night stay but could quite happily live in a lodge this well designed!

Since not being on holiday for two+ years this was our first time away with the dogs. Amazing holiday lodge, hot tub to die for and a massive bed. Couldn’t rate the place high enough. Also if you have a dog there is an orchard that you can let your dog off and have some fun in. There is also a little place 10 minutes down the road that has a dog park full enclosed that you can let your dog have more of a run round. Can hire from £6.

Strawberry field was one of the best places we’ve stayed in.
We stayed in deer leap which was dog friendly and perfect for our Boston that he could explore the enclosed decking area and we didn’t have to worry.
The quality of the lodge was great and it felt so private/secluded.
We loved the log burner but the dog loved it more.
The information folder gave us great ideas for walks, shops and places to eat. The Bath Arms in cheddar did great food with a great ambience and with a dog friendly bar area (we booked ahead).
We’ve already recommended to some friends to give the lodges a try for their next break. We’ll be back for sure.

We've stayed at Strawberry field park 4 times now, in different lodges, we normally come with the kids but this time we came as a couple for a rest! Log burner was perfect, no noise from surrounding areas and hot tub was very relaxing, my top delight was the freestanding bath, that thing was massive and the LED lights on the floor was a nice touch, I probably spent more time in the bath than the hot tub.

We were looking for a romantic getaway to relax and that's exactly what we got!
The lodge is beautifully presented, gorgeous little touches. Well equipped.
We also booked massages with Jo and that was incredible, so pleased we added that extra.

Whilst the lodge itself was mostly as expected (lovely bathroom, relaxing hot tub), we felt extremely let down by the misrepresentation of the location of the lodge. The website boasted tranquil settings which was definitely a selling point to us however nowhere on the site did it say deer lodge backed straight onto the pub which played loud music until 11pm and held open mic nights... this would have definitely lead us not to book this lodge and should have been clearer when booking, as tranquil settings is definitely falsely advertising this lodge. We had to have a fan on every evening inside to try and drown out the noise and this only couldn’t be heard outside when we had the hot tub bubbles on! Music at this pub is boasted outside to be a weekly occurance so wasn’t a one off. Children and dogs visiting the pub also played in the trees that joined our lodge making the entrance way to our lodge very exposed at times. Our lodge bedroom also backed straight onto someone else’s hot tub and garden area, whilst this was privately separated by hedges, the noise of the neighbours was loud when trying to sleep. One night they had additional guests to their lodge and we were woken by a party at gone 1am. Whilst this was dealt with very well by the management team the experience dampened our stay.

Overall we didn’t feel like we got the holiday we thought we were booking and unfortunately wouldn’t be back to strawberry fields.

Thank you for your review and feedback. The Cider Barn as a separate establishment is licenced until 11pm, however they usually only have music once a week. They unfortunately had unscheduled music one night and we are sorry that this caused some disruption during your stay. We will of course chat to the staff at the Barn about your review including children playing in the trees near the lodge. Noisy neighbours in other lodges are a very rare occurrence here and they were asked to leave the site that same night, after a warning. Although we have a site map showing the placement of lodges and the cider barn we realise we should look at making this more prominent on the website. We are sorry that this has made you not want to return to stay with us. We pride ourselves on the amount of returning guests we have and try our best to remedy every problem possible. Best wishes.

We had a lovely time at Deer Leap, the lodge was comfortable and had everything we needed.
We felt a bit uncomfortable by some of the conditions, such as being asked to check every spoon and dish were present, and literally felt that we had to leave it as spotless as when we arrived. We were also expected to empty the bins (or lose £10 of our security deposit), but the dustbins were a way to walk and were all overflowing, so it wasn't an easy task!
Overall we had a great time, loved the hot tub and would definitely recommend it, although it was a bit expensive for 3 nights.

A part from a few maintenance issues we had a lovey first stay. It was a great location to travel to nearby areas such as Chedder gorge, Wells and Weston-super-Mare. Our lodge was ideal for staying with our little dog, and was situated so it felt private. Good customer service received before and during our stay and we would most definitely recommend and look to arrange another stay.

We had a fantastic time at the luxury deer leap. The hot tub and the seclusion of the lodge was brilliant, log burner and free standing bath! Our sausage dog enjoyed his first staycation too! Will sure to be back.

We have just returned from a 5 day break at Strawberry Fields. It was amazing from start to finish and we will definitely be returning next year.

This was our second stay at Strawberryfield Park. We stayed in the Deer Leap lodge again as it’s dog friendly and perfect with our little one as we bring the travel cot. Feels like home from home as soon as we arrive and super relaxing. Perfect retreat! Lots of walking/hiking around the gorge and Bath isn’t far to visit. Can’t wait to come back already!

We stayed at Deer Leap to celebrate my birthday and it was an amazing trip! The place is so lovely that we were in awe when we arrived. Everything had been thought of and it made the lodge a home from home within minutes. We just wished we had stayed longer and can’t wait to come back.

This was our 3rd time staying at SFP and once again it didn’t disappoint. The lodges are so lovely and cleaned so well before you turn up. The hot tub is gorgeous and the beds are so comfortable it makes it hard to ever want to leave! We have recommended the park to many people now and a few have booked and some due to book. The staff are also so lovely and friendly, we had an issue with the dishwasher during our stay and they came to the door and delivered a card and a bottle of wine as an apology which was really thoughtful. We always enjoy our stay the only issue is it seems to go quicker and quicker every time!

Another amazing stay with our pup. Such a high standard in the lodge with a fantastic hot tub, perfect for relaxing in the evenings. A lovely walk around Cheddar reservoir and around the local area. We will be back and would recommend to everybody.

Our third stay at Strawberry Field Park, this time with our pup!
We really wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else and look for a different lodge each time. Perfectly relaxing with a gorgeous hot tub, what more could you ask for! Very friendly staff who go above and beyond with the crucial things as well as the little touches that make all the difference. We will definitely be coming back again!

We stayed at Deer Leap lodge for 4 nights. On arrival we were greeted with a bottle of wine, some biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar and milk in the fridge. The lodge is lovely, a big comfortable bed, a fabulous bathroom and virtually all you need in the kitchen. The outside area has lovely views, a hot tub ready to use on arrival, a large decking area with sunbeds (not that we could use them in the rain) and table and chairs. It was lovely sitting with a glass of wine in the covered outside area with the twinkling lights in the ceiling of an evening.
An absolutely wonderful place for a break, plenty of places to visit, lots of walks if you take your dog knowing you are returning to a lovely lodge for a soak and relaxation.
We shall certainly be returning and hope we get better weather so we can use all the facilities available
